"L’Enclume’s laid-back cousin sits in the centre of the village and occupies a pretty cottage beside a stream, with dark wood beams and welcoming open fires. Simon Rogan’s influence is clear to see on the menu, which lists skilfully prepared, understated dishes that make great use of creative ingredient and flavour combinations. The clean, uncomplicated approach keeps the focus firmly on each main ingredient, with exceptional produce coming from Simon's Our Farm development in the Cartmel Valley, or carefully sourced from trusted Lake District suppliers." - Michelin Inspector
"Also under his portfolio are Rogan & Co. (relaxed, all-day dining), Aulis (a six-seat chef’s table, adjacent to L’Enclume), Henrock (in the scenic Linthwaite House hotel), plus outposts of restaurants in London and Hong Kong." - Katherine LaGrave
"Growing competition has kept Rogan on his toes, prompting him to open Rogan & Co. (entrées $33–$39) — a more relaxed version of its elder sibling, also in Cartmel — followed by Aulis at L'Enclume (tasting menu $222), an exclusive chef's table adjacent to the original restaurant." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"This informal little sister to L’Enclume is situated just around the corner in the same pretty village. It is housed within a whitewashed cottage set next to a tranquil river, and its open-plan, low-beamed interior feels cosy and stylish in equal measure." - The MICHELIN Guide UK Editorial Team
"An atmospheric old building beside the small River Eea in Cartmel is the home of Simon Rogan’s ‘relaxed neighbourhood restaurant’. Rogan & Co got its first Michelin star in October 2018 and while it may be a different beast from L’Enclume — with à la carte two- and three-course menus rather than tastings — the commitment to flavour and invention is every bit as intense. Much produce comes from the Rogan farm/garden in Cartmel and further afield in the county so, for a perfect four-course meal, diners might go for a snack of lamb croquette and damson, a wood pigeon and beetroot starter, a main course of aged short rib of beef, and a dessert of dark chocolate fondant and apple marigold custard. The lunch menu here is great value." - Christian Dymond
