The Rogue 24 dinner was really interesting and fun. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting. Having the kitchen prep area in the center of the room really made the whole night an interactive experience rather than at most restaurants where you just sit at your table and wait for the food to arrive. Watching the chefs and staff plate and arrange each course was truly engaging. We were a little apprehensive before our arrival with fears that some of the food would be too unusual for our limited pallets, but everything was delicious. It's hard to believe we ate every single bite! Not having to order from a complicated menu was very liberating. We were able to just sit back and enjoy every new plate as it arrived without worrying about whether we'd like it or not. We kept an open mind and tried it all (and really enjoyed it all too!).

We wanted the full experience so my wife and I went with another foodie couple and did the 24 course menu with the higher-end "Rogue" pairing. The service was fantastic and we had a great experience with the food and chatting with the staff. My wife is gluten free and they did an awesome job making the few small tweaks needed to the menu for her. :) I will say that the food is good -- some courses were truly excellent. Our party kept a kind of running score, +1, -1 or 0 for each course (with -1 not being, "bad" you understand as this is a yardstick in degrees of awesome). Final score was around 10 and I'd have liked that to be a bit higher for the price. I will also say that most of the wine pairings were very good, two or three were great and the two small cocktails were simply incredible -- and very memorable. The staff at Rogue24 really made our evening a lot of fun! Great time.

My wife and I went to Rogue 24 for the first time last Saturday night. We had made the reservations weeks ago and couldn't have been more excited. We had done mini bar, restaurant eve, city zen, and other tastings, but had heard such great things about Rogue 24 we couldn't wait. We read the reviews and saw almost all good reviews, except 1 1 star review from Lea F. Unfortunately for this evening Lea F should have been the one we listed too. The service is nice and at a good pace, but the servers are in a rush to explain what you are eating that consistently we didn't know what we were eating. The drink selection has one of the better by the glass/by the bottle flexibility. The wines were all excellent, even though we did not do the wine pairing. We signed up for the 24 course menu, wanted to live a little. After the first 10 courses, we were horrible disappointed. The dishes were bland, and in some cases inedible. Ones that were palatable at first had an after taste that made you regret the first part. Of the 1st 10 dishes, the only one that was above average was the venison on parmesan oatmeal crisp, looked like a little pizza. The other 9 dishes were horrible. The next 3 dishes, were line with the first 9 at which point I decided we need to let the chef know. We asked for the chef, and he quickly came by. I explained to him what I wrote above and asked them to step their game up and he asked which dishes I liked which I relayed. After he left, 3 minutes later, the GM came up to us, and sounded angry as she stated we have 2 options, we can call it quits now and they will skip straight to desert or we can continue. She had a chance to at least make us feel welcome, but based on her reaction we opted to pull the ripcord. She said she will do the math and figure out the bill, but in the meantime will bring out the two desert courses. Both desert courses were good, not great, but definitely better than the previous 13 courses. At the end of the evening the GM charged us for a 10 course tasting and the alcohol we drank, which was probably equitable, but considering the attitude and the fact we spent 3 hours going through a bad experience, leaving with a $400+ tab wasn't optimal, regardless it was fair. I write this review not to try to persuade anyone about how bad Rogue 24 is, but to prepare those that do have a bad experience, that you can pull the ripcord. Don't sit through 24 courses of pain thinking you have to. At first my wife was horrified at what I did, but after the GM came by, we were all glad I did.

This was my second experience. I went once before with a friend and this visit was to celebrate my cousin's birthday with my mom. I'd requested seating next to the magic, made for more difficult conversation- we were three across, but was a FANTASTIC experience to interact with everyone and watch the courses coming together. Unlike the Inn at Little Washington which seems a gorgeous carbon copy at each visit, this meal was a very different experience from the first, but remains sublime. I've read other reviews complaining that some courses were too salty, but I found if I mixed the dish a bit, everything balanced beautifully. Mom and Michele had the pairing, since I was driving, I only sampled. Interestingly, since I was tasting with some of mom's unfinished glasses, I liked the previous drink with a later dish. Our dinner Saturday evening WAS truly excellent.

I've only tried the bar tasting and it has been fun and interesting both times. They properly resist the notion that they're "molecular" chefs, and insist rather that they use whatever tools allow them to creatively make great food and drink. As a fan of molecular cooking, just for its weirdness, I'm glad that cocktails are improved by being interesting and therefore bring out the mad scientist side of Rogue 24. It's also a great interior, relaxed, hip, and very unlike a lot of places in DC, in case you need a break from the usual. I recommend having a snack ahead of time if you're going for the bar prix fixe, because the three "bites" included are little more than exactly what their name suggests, while the drinks are enriched, weapons grade cocktails. You've been warned.

Google
There are so many pluses to Rogue 24 and the fact that it's in Blagden Alley is one of the biggest. Blagden Alley is one of the restored historic alleys in DC. It brings historic charm and feels the most like NYC in DC. Rogue 24 is amazing. The interior is this classicly rugged brick building. The food comes in smaller portions but is so unique. My wife loved every bit of it. I am not one for fancy food (like salted air and pink pepper), but they had "normal" options for me that were out of this world. The best part was the cocktails. You cannot go wrong. I had the bar tender make me something sweet with vodka and he made me a berry cobbler cocktail that actually tasted like berry cobbler. So good! If you want to drop over $200 in two hours, this is your place. It is worth it....once.

Food was good and wine was excellent BUT ......... My wife and I have dined at many of the fine Washington DC restaurants over the past 20 years and we were disappointed with our dining experience at Rogue 24. My wife who loves red wine decided to decline the white wine pairings. We asked if we could see a wine menu. The waiter said that they didn't have one but he could bring us a bottle pinot noir. The wine was excellent but we had no idea of the cost until the bill arrived. The food was good but can't compare to the Mini Bar or Cityzen. The atmosphere was nice but it was disturbing to be interrupted by the chef barking out orders to his team while preparing everyone's meal in the center of the restaurant. If you are going to have an open kitchen placed in the middle of the dining room be aware that everyone is observing and listening to your actions. At the conclusion of the meal we asked our waiter for the name of the wine, but his response was that we couldn't buy it outside of the restaurant and it was a rare reserve bottle of pinot noir. He declined to give us the name of the wine. We felt that we were taken advantage of and when we the bill arrived our perceptions became a reality. With tip included $525 for a good not great dining experience.

Google
Food is impeccable. I had a lamb tartar wrapped in a leaf that was so delicate it almost melted in my mouth. The cocktails are amazing and are made by an expert mixologist. Be prepared to have all your senses excited.

Yelp
Most of the food was SO delicious but the crispy pork belly was inedible due to the fact that it was almost completely fat with no meat. The waiter (lovely person) brought it back without us asking, took it off the bill, and gave us a free dessert. Truly an excellent customer service experience to make up for an imperfect entree. Besides that, great meal. Space was awesome.

Yelp
Jacob or Jake, I think his name was at the front desk was soooo kind! So refreshing to have genuinely nice good energy ppl. I called in advance to revise the quantity of people attending and he literally set the tone - dope. Anywho, we tried a lot of dishes and the highlight for me was the smashed cucumber salad. The cheapest thing on the menu actually lol very flavorful and great texture. Highly recommend. Branzino fish was different. Fish is usually handled delicately and this was fried and drenched in sweet sauces. Good! But something to note. I really enjoyed the chili wontons. A good edition to your order. Multifaceted in texture and flavor.

Yelp
I love introducing people to this spot. It's so so good. My favorite thing on the menu has to be the char sui plate. It's so delicious. There's so much good stuff in Blagden Alley and I feel like this is the creme de la crème. The inside is warmly lit but reminds me of something you might see in an old kung fu movie? The dishes are meant to be shared so it a good lace that is better with a groups so you can get multiple things to try. They also have well balanced cocktails with very unique ingredients and a motions attached. It's best to make a reservation. Everyone is very nice, but when they get busy it can all be a bit hectic. Thankfully there are cute places nearby so put your name on the waitlist and come back. It's so worth it

Justine B.

Yelp
For me, this is the definition of an "okay" restaurant -- didn't love it, didn't hate it. Pros: - cute interior and nice ambiance for a date - service was pleasant enough Cons: - extremely small dinner menu w/o much variety - limited cocktail menu-- asked for an espresso martini and was told that there was no espresso. (I thought espresso martinis were standard cocktails these days.) - inconsistent portion sizes-- the calamari appetizer was huge, but the amount of noodles in the chow fun entree was lacking. There seemed to be more meat than noodle which was surprising

Yelp
I honestly can't stop raving about this dining experience. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed with a warm smile into a space that feels chic yet comfortable, and the experience only gets better from there. These Michelin stars are earned because their food is absolutely exquisite many dishes. Many dishes have a good heat on them so be prepared for that. Favorites of mine were certainly the cucumbers, the string beans, ribs (tasty and sticky) and basically any noodle dish. If you're like me, go back two nights in a row so you can try multiple things on the menu. If you have trouble finding it use these photos and you'll get there no time Thank you, Tiger Fork for having me twice

Jessica G.

Yelp
The space is cool and unique. We loved the openness and the decor! The food was good but nothing extraordinary. It felt like Chinese takeout on a fancy plate with a higher price point. The service was not great, it feel like the server did not like having to answer our questions, barely stopped by and I don't think he smiled once. Maybe with better service it would have been a nicer experience but would probably skip for another of the great options around.

Yelp
Love the Michelin restaurant Tiger Fork! Even if it is an obscure location in Blagden Alley. Hint: it's next door to the La Colombe coffee shop and has a big black hexagonal window. We came early on a Thursday evening and though we were the first diners, Tiger fork was filling up by the time we left. Tiger Fork is family style with dishes intended to be shareable. Portions are generous and prices reasonable. The best dish of the evening was dessert, the Monkey King Bread. Outstanding! This milk bread had a most amazing texture and it comes with a wonderful caramel sauce, nuts and slices of fresh banana. This is what life is all about! Next best, but still absolutely amazing was the Jah Leung. These are stuffed circular rice noodles. Delicious! The stuffing has a delightful crunchy texture. The green beans were great, accompanied by a peanut butter sauce, scallions and fried shallots. We really liked the Crispy Pork Belly plate. The crispy but moist pork was masterfully seasoned with just a tad of five spice. You eat the pork belly nestled in a lettuce leaf with a dab of ginger scallion sauce. The portion of Salt and Pepper Calamari was huge! The calamari was seasoned just right and came with bits of aioli and garnished with finely sliced scallion. JP had a can of Double Dagger pilsner beer. It has a pleasant flavor and a nice astringent bite. Music selection was great and played at a pleasing level. The only room for improvement would have been for the young and respectful server to ask if we wanted refills. But in short, our experience was great. We look forward to bringing friends and family here to enjoy this amazing cuisine.

Yelp
Good but nothing to write home about! Waiter told me this was a lighter dish but it def wasn't so just wasn't really what I was expecting. Need to be back to try more. Martini was good!

Yelp
This is located in a cute area. It was a little hard to find but no biggie if you can't find it just call and they will be happy to tell you where to go. The inside is nice and inviting. The set up is cozy. It has an open kitchen you can see things going on and the bar is located in the front. Everything was good, I wish they had a few more options for food or less pork options but I did like that if you didn't want pork in some things for could ask for that. I enjoyed the calamari the most. Everyone was polite, helpful and attentive. They have a lot of drink options. No hot sake but hey they have Alot of other drinks .

Lisa S.

Yelp
Great ambiance, delicious food. We sat at the bar and service was good and quick. Ordered the two fried rices - both delicious and filling! The happy hour wontons were crispy and flavorful.

Marcus G.

Yelp
Put Tiger Fork on your list. The flavors in every bite are amazing. They are open late which was the reason I went. They do take reservations so I highly recommend but from the visit it seems like a nice flow. We had the BBQ Platter which was fire and we replaced the pork shoulder with the ribs. The service was amazing and the ambiance is low light and perfect for date night, groups or friends just catching up.

Shari D.

Yelp
Beautiful setup here, I loved the seating and the decor, it made for a great experience. We didn't make reservations but I would strongly advise you to if you're looking to be seated at a table. I indulged in the bird market and it was pretty good, not too sweet and super soothing. There was lots to choose from on their menu and I can say that the salt and pepper calamari was delicious, all that was missing was some lemon. Definitely plan on coming back to try some more food options and some more cocktails.

Yelp
The Roasted Mixed Mushroom Chow Fun is a vegetarian's dream. The wide rice noodles were slick with soy sauce, spices, and garlic. I definitely tasted a hit of garlic, and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The star of the show were the roasted mushrooms. They were meaty and plentiful. The Nathan Road cocktail was very good, but I wish it was a tad sweeter (just a tad). Otherwise it was well presented and expertly prepared. The interior reminds of Hong Kong and the staff were phenomenal!!! All in all five stars. I will be back...and they have happy hour!!!

Yelp
This place has been on my radar for a while, and I finally made it! It's located in a rather bustling alley. I've always heard about it, but never even saw it in person until this visit. When I visited Detroit and saw how cool the alley restaurants were there, it was nice to be able to see how we do it here in the DMV. After opening the heavy heavy door with the giant fork on it, we walked into the restaurant, greeted by staff, a giant circular bar, and plenty of tables. It was completely booked out for reservations, but the bar had two seats on the end, just for us! I'm not used to menus at restaurants like this being so small -- they have more drinks than they do food XD. I wasn't drinking, so the food was definitely my focus -- at the same time, the limited options made for easy decisions. I got the chili wontons and stir fry cauliflower. I loved them both -- though the cauliflower was a bit saltier than my usual preference. The place is inviting, and I'd return. It's probably a good idea to make reservations on busier days.

Yelp
Tiger Fork is a slightly atypical Chinese restaurant. The food isn't just the basic chicken and broccoli, which (although I adore the basics) made me excited to try it! I ordered delivery and was impressed by both the speed and quality of the order. My favorite item, surprisingly, was the most classic - Mu Shu Pork. It was very simple and well executed with pork that was tender, juicy, and flavorful. It came with pancakes, pickled onions, and hoisin sauce to create a delicious, and not overcomplicated, bite. Definitely recommend if you are a fan of mu shu. I also enjoyed the Rice Cakes with Mushrooms. The rice cakes had the exact chewy texture I had hoped for and paired very well with the mushrooms. The dish also came with pickled cabbage. While the pickled cabbage was also yummy, it overpowered the taste of the rest of the dish. Lastly, I had the string beans which I found a little greasy.

Yelp
A good higher-end Chinese restaurant in Shaw. I recently went to Tiger Fork for a weekend dinner with two friends and was initially confused on where to find it, as the restaurant has no clear signage. Luckily it was still light outside or I would have had some difficulty finding Tiger Fork. I would only go during the daytime, as Blagden Alley is poorly lit at night, with a strong likelihood of seeing rats. Additionally, Blagden Alley is hard for ride shares to navigate, so I recommend planning accordingly if you plan on taking such a method. My friends and I were seated immediately upon our arrival at our reservation time and received good service throughout. Tiger Fork has a Chinese-themed ambiance, with the brick walls making the restaurant feel darker than it is. Tiger Fork recommends sharing dishes and my friends and I took this excellent advice. The food was good but nothing unique or spectacular. We shared the following dishes: Mushroom and Broccoli Dumplings: Dumplings were steamed very well, otherwise nondescript. Fried Tofu and Baby Bok Choy: A very good dish although a bit salty. A great balance of rice, tofu, egg, and vegetables. Sesame Noodles: The noodles were well-cooked and a good ratio of vegetables, noodles, and tofu. Roasted Mixed Mushroom: My favorite dish of the evening. The noodles were perfectly cooked, the sauce was delicious and not salty, and the mushrooms provided good umami. Duck: The duck was cooked medium-rare, Tiger Fork provided plenty of pancakes, and the vegetables were cooked properly. A good dish although a bit pricey at $38 for the portion size. Tiger Fork is pricey even when sharing dishes, although the portion sizes are somewhat generous for sharable dishes. Additionally, Tiger Fork Charges a 4% service charge on top of their menu prices which does not include tip, another example of a restaurant following the frustrating DC trend of confusing customers with hard-to-understand fees. While I'm glad I tried Tiger Fork, I would recommend Chang Chang or The Queen's English instead if you are looking for higher-end Chinese/Hong Kong cuisine in DC.

Yelp
Tiger Fork is one of those places that was such a big hit when it first opened that I could not get in. Then I sort of forgot about it. But recently I needed a restaurant convenient to Mt Vernon Square, and thought of it again. This time, I scored a table fairly easily. Let me cut to the chase here: don't be seduced by the drinks that lure you with healing properties. They are over-priced and some of them do not taste very good. You are here for the food, which is very good, and given that many of the plates are shareable, good value. I liked the menu's thoughtful, updated approach, and the way it uses classic ingredients in a new, spunky way. Of the dishes we ordered, the dish to die for was the mushroom chow foon: outstanding, and a great vegetarian alternative to the more well-known beef chow foon. The beef version is also on offer - it is made with brisket - and I am keen to return to try it. The atmosphere is dim and fun, meant to evoke a Hong Kong alley night spot. Tiger Fork is not as elegant as its predecessor at this venue, Rogue 24, but it is pleasantly lively and a lot more accessible.

Yelp
Probably one of my top restaurant finds this year. My partner still raves about this place and it's been five months since we ate here! Everything we ordered was delicious, highly recommend the crispy pork belly. Service was great and attentive. Ambiance is intimate. Definitely a must visit in blagden alley!

Ben D.

Yelp
A great experience definitely would recommend sitting at kitchen counter it's such a cool experience seeing the kitchen work and staff are super nice. One thing to note to find tiger fork is the red building with the neon sign. The restaurant is super cool inside and having lively feel big tables but definitely the kitchen table is the best spot. We got Mushroom & Broccoli Dumpling, fried rice with shrimp, chow fun with beef brisket, and crispy pork belly plate. The dumplings were delicious has a great spicy sauce on top and is rich and flavorful. Super tender but still firm enough doesn't fall apart. Fried rice with shrimp was also really good great flavor with the shrimp and fried pork. So good and delicious. Very savory and well cooked. Chow Fun with brisket was the best item. The noodles were perfectly cooked soft yet firm. The brisket was nice and crispy but still tender. Has a ton of great savory flavor. Crispy Pork belly was so good the sauce and vegetables was perfect mix. The pork was perfectly cooked and seasoned spicy and crispy but a rich savory flavor. The scallion sauce adds nice freshness and spiciness.

Yelp
Came to Tiger Fork with some friends for a nice evening dinner. The ambiance and decor is absolutely stunning. I love the open kitchen and the vibe is just intimate but fun and inviting. Truly one of the best vibes I've gotten in dc restaurant. The service was also impeccable and shoutout to our server for making this place so fun. If the service and ambience weren't there I'd give this about a 3 stars for food. It was pricey for Chinese food but I wasn't sure if the price point was worth it. Chow fun- was pretty abundant and good. Beef was a little too tough but a filling meal and would get it. They weren't anything special, but good Chinese food. Monkeybread- this was a disappointment unfortunately. The sauce was pretty good but the bread itself was a bit stale. I wish it was stickier and the sauce permeated throughout the bread. Rice rolls- I could've devoured that as my meal, I loved it a lot and would get again.

Samantha T.

Yelp
Tiger Fork is an upscale Chinese restaurant that puts a modern twist on dim sum, classic Chinese dishes and Hong Kong street food. It's a small dark restaurant so it gives a more cozy and intimate feel. They have a bar at the front and they do HH from 5-6 in the bar area only. The service was good and everything came out quickly. The servings are a decent size and the food is good but not amazing. The menu is also pretty small so unless you have some favorites it's not somewhere you need to frequent. But the drinks were flavorful and good.

Tony B.

Yelp
Happy Hour (bar only) pricing isn't that great, you'll save maybe $1 or $2 off of regular prices so it's not worth it. We were there on a weekday around 5:45p and there were maybe 5 people in the restaurant. If you go before 7p on Monday-Thursday, I'd say you can most likely just walk in. Atmosphere is pretty cool, and service is good. But that's all it has going for it. Food prices are crazy, portions are small, and it's one of those places that has a disingenuous 4% service fee. Don't get fooled, tip your normal percentage minus the 4%.

Tarsha A.

Yelp
This place was a 10 in every aspect!! The service, the food, the drinks were all amazingly great!! Reservations are highly recommended. We are at the bar and thoroughly enjoyed talking with the bar tenders, who were very helpful with guiding us through the menu. The calamari was light and delicious! My Mother ordered the Fried Rice with lobster and she was extremely happy with how flavorful it was. I ordered the beef chow fun, which was tender and full of flavor as well. For desert we chose the Monkey King Bread, which was very good. I highly recommend this spot, which is a little tricky to find, but worth every single minute to get there!!

Kate G.

Yelp
Wow! Amazing! We had the menu. This included the day's special blue fin crudo, chilled sesame noodles, cucumber salad, chili wontons, beef brisket chow fun, green beans, char siu, and pork ribs. We were served by Colin, who was super attentive and made the best suggestions! While it was busy, it was not too loud. I hope to come back and experience Colin and the Kitchen again!

Russell J.

Yelp
Food was good. Ambiance was nice. But unfortunately. It's way overpriced. Our meal was great. Service was good. There is superior, more affordable Chinese to be had outside of DC.

Jessica K.

Yelp
Beautiful Asian-inspired bar/lounge with interesting cocktails and delicious food. I love love love the vibes of this place - a little dark and edgy with a mix of modern American and Asian street life. My group of 6 came by for some late-night bites and drinks, and we were seated right away. Thankfully their entire menu was available to order from as well as their specials for the day. Half of our group didn't have dinner yet so we decided to get a bunch of items to share - dan dan noodles, combo fried rice, chili wontons, and their special of the day: a roasted eggplant dish. For my drink, I got the Banana Dan which I enjoyed! It was the perfect amount of sweet and bitter with a subtle banana flavor - it was a flavor profile I never had before and I absolutely loved it! The food came out fairly quickly and it was easy to share. My favorite was the combo fried rice since it was packed with protein and veggies and it went well with the chili oil. There is a gratuity added to the bill so keep that in mind!

Laura H.

Yelp
TLDR; good cocktails, hit or miss on food. I hadn't been to Tiger Fork in years but decided to try it out again this week and was a bit disappointed. We ordered the cucumber salad, the spicy dumpling, the brisket chow mein, and two of the main dishes (yes, we eat a lot). The dumplings were probably my favorite, but I also liked the cucumbers. The two main dishes were oddly exactly the same except for the protein. I've never once seen that at a restaurant and wish the waiter had pointed this out, since it was like ordering the same dish twice. Compared to my previous experiences here, the dishes were less interesting than I remembered. It is fairly easy to get a reservation though, and the service was good. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but would tag along if friends wanted to check it out.

Tyler M.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food, especially the fried rice. The portions are huge though. The cocktails are great as well. The only negative is that they don't have any chicken options.

Josh G.

Yelp
I visited Tiger Fork for dinner with a friend and it was packed! Food overall was good and the service was pretty good too. My only complaint, and this isn't really their fault, is that it's a bit tucked away and can be hard to find if you're going on foot/unfamiliar with the area. Aside from that, I would love to visit again the next time I'm in the area.

Ashley B.

Yelp
I honestly only came here because of the drink names LOL. I love avatar and wanted to try Sozin's Comet, also a big zelda fan so the Sneaky Link enticed us too. But I was a little taken aback by this place. It is family style, so all dishes are meant to be shared. However, the portion size is super small. I could finish a plate by myself even though its supposed to be shared. Our waitress suggested we get 6-7 dishes for 4 people but with those prices we were not. Don't get me wrong, the dishes are delicious and packed with flavor. But I'm not paying that amount of money for the amount of food. With that being said, the food is delicious, the decor inside is super cool, but I can't justify the price with the portion size. Now that I've tried the 2 drinks I probably won't be returning due to the fact that we were all still hungry after ordering the recommended amount.

Warner D.

Yelp
It was a good overall place to eat. Food was good, not bad or amazing. Service was good but not great(not rude in anyway but part of me expects the team to go above when on a Michelin recommended list). Place was small but making loud and hard to communicate. Overall a fair experience.

Victoria P.

Yelp
celebrating the kickoff of @ramwdc at @tigerforkdc in blagden alley with a full spread of items to share (first course), second course AND desert pickles, buckwheat cold noodles, tiger salad and crispy smashed fingerlings -- all very flavorful and complemented each other well! we were starting to get full but the second course was right around the corner... crispy bass filet with caramelized pearl onions, peppers and ginger served with a side of white rice was covered in a glossy, sticky sauce that was and last bite of the night, a sesame black flan -- a sweet TREAT to top off this delish meal (all for $55 during RAMW!)

Lola L.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance, service, food, drinks and location. Absolutely going back in a heartbeat.

Niranjana S.

Yelp
Tucked away in Blagden Alley, this place was packed and our reservation was at 10 pm which is a testament to how popular it is. The decor was fun and the food was yummy! For how small the menu was, there were a decent amount of vegetarian options which I appreciated. We got the roasted mixed mushroom chow fun which was delicious! We also got the fried tofu and bok choy fried rice which lacked a bit of flavor but was still good.

Mira S.

Yelp
The ambience at this restaurant was really nice and cozy, and the food was really good as well. The food is typical Chinese Asian fusion, more specifically Hong Kong Asian fusion, and I found the flavors to be unique compared to other Chinese/hong Kong restaurants I have been to. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant at Park bench style tables, so it definitely allowed for a bigger group to dine together, which was really nice. The service was pretty quick as well and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at this restaurant.

Yelp
Loved our dinner here. We had no reservations but the bar seating worked out for us. The food was so good! I forgot to take a pic of my Beef Brisket Chow Fun but it was delicious. The Chinese S'more dessert was also so yummy. The bartenders were all super friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back to try more from the menu.

Yelp
Higher end Chinese food and modern takes on Hong Kong street food that was ok. Started off with the Ikezo peach jelly sake which was pretty good. My favorite dish here was the combo fried rice and beef brisket chow fun but chow fun was salty. The chinese brococoli was very salty too. I wasn't a fan of their take on the char siu with bbq sauce but I liked the pickled vegetable that came with it. I also ordered the jah leung appetizer which they recommended and it was just ok for me. Overall, it wasn't bad but I think I prefer traditional take on Chinese food more.

Yelp
Part two of our Blagden Alley tour included dinner at Tiger Fork - a contemporary Hong Kong kitchen. Tiger Fork emphasizes family-style plates and the communal dining experience serving playful takes on Hong Kong street food. Everything was a great portion, packed with flavor and kept us coming back for more bites. We also had someone who was gluten intolerant and they had some great options for her which is rare when eating Chinese food. The pork belly plate was my favorite dish (get extra of that green sauce) smashed cucumber salad, pork belly plate, Chinese sausage fried rice, sweet and sour catfish

Yelp
Tiger Fork is a great restaurant tucked away inside an alley - but don't be fooled, you are not going to be robbed eating here. Service was alright. At the beginning of our meal, the waiter kindly informed us that the meals are meant to be shared and recommended we order a few plates, and more later if we're still hungry. My friend dropped her chopsticks and after waiting for about five minutes for a server to come around, she instead went to the kitchen to ask for a pair. The water there was also lukewarm, not even cool. My only complaint with the food is that... there wasn't enough of it. Maybe I'm just a glutton but I really feel like each plate is maybe 67% of what makes me feel full. And I guess the prices too. 5 dishes and 1 milk tea totaled to $141, and I think we all left still feeling just a little hungry. We started with the tofu fried rice and mushroom chow fun. I think this was the best fried rice I ever had. It was extremely flavorful in a way that I have never had with fried rice before. There was a generous amount of tofu; however, it could have used more chinese broccoli. The mushroom chow fun was also delicious. I wouldn't say it stands out from chow fun I've had elsewhere, but it was good nonetheless. We followed up with an order of char siu pork and pork ribs. Char Siu pork was the perfect amount of tender and had that deliciously sweet sauce. The sauce on the side tasted good, but I'm not sure why one would want to cover up the char siu flavor with it. We had finished the char siu by the time the ribs came out, but the ribs were sooooo good. The meat was a little tough, it didn't fall off the bone like barbecue, but the flavor - oh the flavor. It was sweet and melted in your mouth. We literally used our spoons to just scoop up the sauce and eat it after we were done. I would highly recommend Tiger Fork. The fried rice is a MUST TRY.

Yelp
A little pricey but delicious food. Hard to find dishes in DC, with authentic spices and flavors, and elevated quality. The beef brisket's umami flavor really permeated the chow fun noodles in my opinion. The chicken dan dan also had great spices and the noodles had good texture, it was quite salty but I didn't mind since there was also flavor. The fish bao and monkey king bread were all right, I wouldn't feel the need to order them again. Would get the two noodle dishes again though! The service is pretty good. Love that they keep the water coming. Kitchen made a mistake with our order that the waiter corrected without fuss. The portions are quite civilized, not super huge. It's a cute date night place!

Yelp
From the drinks to the food to the service, everything here was a 5 star experience! We tried a couple cocktails each and they were all a hit. The tofu fried rice was perfect and the green beans (with crunchy chili oil and peanuts!!) were a surprising hit. The char sui plate was overall great, I wish the pork was a little juicier but the sauce it came with helped! We needed an outlet to charge a dying phone and they had some at the bar :) They take reservations online about a month in advance. Easy to find location by foot or bike, parking only on the street. There's a few other spots in the alley to start or continue your night!

Yelp
We had a great NYE dinner at Tiger Fork. Located near the CityCenter DC, Tiger Fork is a hidden gem (quite literally, hidden in an alleyway) that offers delicious Hong Kong style food. They do shareable dishes, but with decent portions (more than what you would typically expect from a tapas place). We ordered pork ribs, beef chow fun, combo fried rice, green beans, and enjoyed every single dish. Service was fast and attentive. Had a great ambiance too and was perfect for our special occasion (cozy, dark, Hong Kong nightlife vibe). It's slightly pricier than your takeout Chinese joint of course, but overall it's not that expensive for a Michelin star restaurant, and these guys definitely know how to cook!

Yelp
This place was fun for the tastebuds and is conveniently located in my favorite place in dc, blagden alley. The drinks were what were most interesting and enjoyable to me. Just about all the food is cooked in duck fat so if you're on a diet and looking for something healthy, good luck. The stir fry with tofu was just ok. My friend got the beef brisket with sweet potato and wow was that delicious. If I go back, I'll go with that instead. Be prepared for a hefty bill though. Two drinks and an entree came out to about $70 with 22% auto-gratuity. Bartenders were nice enough, but I probably would've only tipped 20% if given the option.

Yelp
Great spot for Chinese and American food fusion. Anything you get from there can't go wrong though! Excellent drinks. I think I like Bird Market drink the best. Service is quick and nice. Chill yet modern feeling to this place as they bring a twist of Chinese decors but making it cooler than it seems. Love that and I might steal their interior design idea for my future home and love how it so very hidden by the alley with cool murals surrounding.

Yelp
I loved the decorations and ambience in this vibrant restaurant. I had heard good things about the food here, and was not disappointed. I sat at the bar and appreciated the helpful and fun staff. You'll enjoy this restaurant in fun Blagden Alley!

Yelp
I never give five stars but they deserve it! Food was outstanding. Service outstanding. Very unique menu we had the green beans, wontons and combo fried rice. All three were home runs. GO!

Yelp
This place looks INCREDIBLE. I could not stop looking around at the decor. Service was really fast and the staff was so pleasant. The roasted mix mushroom chow fun will singlehandedly make me come back.

Yelp
Tasty food with fantastic service and a great atmosphere, but a touch pricey and not the most authentic. I visited Tiger Fork with a friend on a Friday evening, and, thankfully, managed to snag a spot by the bar despite forgetting to make a reservation. The restaurant was incredibly lively, and only got moreso as the evening went on; the only downside to sitting at the bar, particularly the very front of it, was that as new guests arrived and had to wait for seats to open up, they would order drinks from right where we were sitting. This meant there were many drinks / credit cards passed over our heads or in between my friend and I over the evening, but it still didn't disrupt the evening too much. As far as food goes, I settled on the roasted mixed mushroom chow fun. It was solid, but also nothing particularly worth writing home about. The dish was a bit lacking in roasted mixed mushrooms, and it was generally quite small for the price. It wasn't 100% authentic chow fun, but also wasn't exactly a "modern twist" either. Despite that, the mushrooms the dish did have were delightfully roasted and packed quite the umami punch. The noodles were springy and struck the golden texture of soft with a slight chew. All around, the food was good but, at least in my opinion, not worth the price or the hype.

Yelp
We came here for lunch at 1 pm on a Saturday, and it was practically deserted. Good time to come if you want the whole place to yourself, ha. Food was good overall, but honestly, I don't understand the hype over this place... We had the following dishes: - Grandma's chili wontons - great flavors - Beef brisket chow fun - delicious, with very soft and flavorful beef meat - Green beans - meh okay... They're really different from what I'm used to. I like Szechuan style green beans, whereas the green beans here have peanut sauce, pickled cucumbers, and dried pork, none of which I'm used to. I guess that's Hong Kong style green beans--very different from Szechuan garlicky-chili-peppercorn-y beans.
