RNF distributes local organic foods; RFU combats food insecurity

"Founded in 2020 to assist residents displaced by the Almeda and Obenchain fires, Rogue Food Unites focuses on disaster response and combating food insecurity through programs like a no-cost farmers market; although McMillan is no longer directly involved, CEO Amber Ferguson called her into action during the storm and tasked RFU with serving warming shelters in six counties (including four in Clackamas and Washington counties). In January 2024 RFU expanded under a state contract with the Office of Resilience and Emergency Management to serve 36 counties statewide, reimburses restaurant partners at variable flat rates depending on the response and meal type, and is actively building a statewide network of partners (restaurants, grocery stores, food trucks, and caterers can inquire via development coordinator Heather Brazille)." - Janey Wong
