Roia

"Not only can you feast your eyes on the lush greenery, you can also taste the herbs and edible flowers grown in the garden and picked minutes before serving. In a refurbished historic edifice, chef-owner Priyam Chatterjee serves two tasting menus that are updated quarterly and feature modern French fare rooted in tradition and exquisitely plated. The top-notch produce comes from around the world and each course tells a story about its source." - Michelin Inspector

Ambience: A visually captivating, luxe interiors with a tranquil, garden‑immersed setting — perfect for anniversaries, date nights Location: distance of walk from main entrance. We ordered 288 dinner set and the taste is mixed French and India fusion. Very unique experience with herbal spices mixed with grill lamb.

Beautifully decorated old colonial building which houses ROIA serving fine dining French Indian food. I have to be honest and some of the dishes are hit or miss. The menu is also very small which limits your choices. Overall, a great experience as you get picked up by buggy from the visitor center. The staff are also very attentive, and the food is unique.

Had a lovely set lunch at Roia, and the experience was delightful! The fish was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious, though the chicken was just okay. What really stood out was the beautiful ambience—it felt like being transported to Bali, with lush greenery and a serene atmosphere. A great spot for a relaxing meal in nature. Would definitely return!

Nestled within a magnificent colonial edifice, Roia presents a dining occasion that transcends the ordinary. The journey commences with a distinctive buggy transfer, an elegant prelude that imbues the arrival with a sense of occasion. Upon entering, one is immediately struck by the seamless integration of the building's historical grandeur with a sophisticated modern décor. The interior design showcases an incredible attention to detail, where every element, from the carefully chosen furnishings to the subtle nuances of the lighting, contributes to an atmosphere of refined elegance. Our culinary exploration included the lamb and chicken dishes, both prepared and presented with the utmost precision. The lamb, exceptionally tender and imbued with a profound depth of flavor, spoke of premium ingredients and masterful culinary technique. Similarly, the chicken was remarkably succulent and flavorful, each morsel a testament to the chef's exacting standards. These were not merely courses, but rather meticulously crafted gastronomic experiences. The service at Roia further elevated the experience. The staff exhibited a commendable level of attentiveness and professionalism, demonstrating a genuine dedication to ensuring a seamless and memorable dining encounter. Their comprehensive knowledge of the menu and thoughtful recommendations were particularly noteworthy. Highly recommended for those seeking a refined and memorable dining experience in Singapore.

Where “ Art meet Palate” , this is how I will classified Priyam creation who took over the space where Corner House used to be . The set menu is very generous in term of course and the ingredients used are of very good quality . Chef has French background so he uses this techniques with his Indian influence to create his own language of cuisines . I will have to say I do like it especially his two main course which comes in term of a fish and a lamb . Oh ! The dessert is insane too , for sure I will be back ☺️

Delicious food, though portion sizes were small. I was hungry afterwards. But what really let's this place down is the service. I asked for a wine recommendation and the waiter had no idea so he just picked a random one. Also, whilst we were still eating our mains they came and asked us what dessert we wanted - this was just bizarre and we felt rushed and interrupted. Lovely place and ambience, just a shame I can't give it five stars.

The Corner House in the Botanical Gardens is a venue which brings back lots of fond memories from its first restaurant iteration as Au Jardin, followed by Cornerhouse and now Roia. We have celebrated anniversaries, birthdays and friend’s wedding plus a number business meetings or wanted a good dinner in a beautiful location. Thus I was excited to experience its current transformation as Roia under new management and a new Chef Priyam. The interior has gone through a total change and is now more elegant than the past though the same familiarity still permeates through its colonial heritage walls. Cuisine is once again back to French inspired fine dining creations though the presentation feels a tough cliche. My favourite dishes were the fish (Corners Flowers), the lamb (By The Rain Forest) and the dessert (Indulgence). My least favourite was the languostine dish (The Herb Gardens) as the langoustine was slightly mushy and tasted off which was communicated to the staff and Chef. Service-wise, it was functional but lack the personal friendly touch of the old team. In summary, it is worth a visit though it will need some work, hopefully over time, to be comparable to Chef Jason Tan’s tenure there and also the other modern French fine dining restaurants in Singapore. Chef Priyam’s definitely has the potential that can be refined with more exposure and tweaks to cater to the Singapore fine dining scenes.

In the familiar setting of the former Corner House, Roia offers a refreshing take on fine dining. The six-course menu artfully blends French and Asian cuisines, creating a paced journey and match for my limited degustation threshold. The intimate space, seating up to 30, retains its cozy charm. While the ambience feels familiar, the menu brings welcome surprises. Some dishes truly shine, showcasing the kitchen's potential for creativity, though presentation could use a touch more refinement. My fav is the soothing yet rich mushroom soup. Service leans towards a casual fine dining experience, fitting for internal events or small gatherings. The secluded location adds to its appeal but may require extra planning for larger external functions.
