"This sister to Ræst is set in an ancient, turf-roofed building and has a rustic inner, a laid-back ambience and chatty staff. The set menus reflect the bounty from the surrounding waters, from local sea-urchins to langoustines and Greenlandic snow crab. All these dishes are cooked with great precision to unlock their natural flavours." - Michelin Inspector

ROKS in Tórshavn is a lovely restaurant with a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The food was excellent, showcasing a great variety of local ingredients. I don’t eat pork, and they were very accommodating by adjusting the mussels dish for me. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy creative dishes made with local flavors! My absolute favorite was the sea urchin dish!!

Cozy atmosphere, but nothing else! We wanted to try a Michelin-star dinner, so we booked the small 8-course menu. The waiters were unprofessional, wearing dirty shirts. The tables were not clean, and there were vases with dead flowers. The waiter had no knowledge about the wines. When he poured the wine, he spilled it around the rim of the glass and on the table — and didn’t even bother to wipe it up afterward. And of course, when it came to paying, they charged us for the large menu instead. This is definitely not what a Michelin-star restaurant should look like.

Fantastic dinner!!! The sea urchin was out of this 🌎!! Great service. We were in the upstairs room which gave a more intimate feel. Great 🍷 choices. Loved our entire experience here!!

One of the most memorable meals I had in Faroe Islands. I was staying nearby and I did a walk in days before to make a reservation. Was served by a pretty nice young lad who helped confirmed my booking 3 days later. The next day I finished my tour earlier than expected and dropped by to ask if could switch the day and the same guy told me it was okay and I returned the same night. There were 2 menus, the 6 course and the 11 course menu and I decided to try on the latter. Place was not crowded initially but was almost full by the time I was halfway through dinner. The service of the 2 young staff were very good and prompt, only 2 of them managing all the diners and they managed to pull it off so well. Food wise was really good. Really loved how generous they were with the ingredients and how fresh the seafood were, just like it was just taken out from the sea. Almost every dish was good, and was quite surprised when I read the menu on the dishes which I thought might taste strange but all the flavours complemented each other so well! Like who would have expected scallops to go along so well with vanilla? Of course there were some really good dishes which were my favourites, like the mussels and the snow crab. Especially for the snow crab, the flavour was so good that I painstakingly slowly tried to dig every inch of the meat to make sure I finish the whole crab as clean as I could. Desserts were pretty good too. They even had the non alcoholic vermouth to go along with the sorbet. A very enjoyable dinner and frankly speaking go for the 11 course meal you get so much more dishes and the price is more worth it. A definite recommendation for me to visit this place in Tórshavn, and would give it a 4.5 more than a 4.

Most of the dishes were beautifully executed. I liked how they showcased local freshness with a touch of the exotic, such as fried cod with chimichurri and bok choy in the salmon dish. I especially enjoyed the sea urchin toast, scallops with vanilla, the salmon, and the blue mussels. The chips served alongside the mussels were also fried to perfection. As I'm allergic to crab, they substituted the snow crab with fish and chips, which I wished had been something else, since I had already had fried cod and chips in earlier dishes. Moreover, considering the grade and the price range of this restaurant, it's reasonable to expect they could have offered something more unique. The dessert included in the set menu was too acidic for my taste. On the other hand, the caviar, vodka, and ice cream combination was fun, like a deconstructed dessert. That said, I had to rush through the caviar and couldn't enjoy it slowly. The female staff who served us was charming and friendly. I recommend giving this place a try when visiting the Faroe Islands.

Wonderful dinner at this Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant. We selected the 6 item menu which included the Greenland snow crab and the entire meal was excellent.

I enjoyed this dining experience a lot. However, I do think it was severely overpriced compared to other restaurants that have the same or even better dining quality. A few of the courses were fantastic, like the mussels, arctic char, and crab legs. A few fell short, specifically the plain lobster and the too acidic dessert.

ROKS offers an exceptional dining experience in Tórshavn. The food was outstanding – a small but well-curated menu featuring a great variety of flavors. Service was very good, and the wine selection was impressively diverse. The only downside was the location of our table on the first floor, right by the restroom. The frequent queue disrupted the atmosphere a bit, which was unfortunate for such a high-caliber restaurant. Still, the overall quality of the meal makes ROKS well worth a visit.
