Sunny New Parakeet Cafe Brightens the Work Week in Beverly Hills | Eater LA

"I'm seeing signage up for Roll Call Sushi to open in Highland Park, where the new space will take over the former Tam’s on Figueroa next door to Mason’s Dumpling Shop; the Koreatown restaurant also operates a Miracle Mile location." - Farley Elliott

Finally tried Roll Call for casual and affordable sushi in Ktown and it was so yummy!! The service was also so great. The rolls came out so fast and got me so full. I was cracking up by some of their roll names like “La Toxica” and “Cheating Boyfriend!” We tried the Sidechick which was delicious and a nice fresh complement with our other fried rolls. The Gordita and The Ktown Roll were so good and highly recommend the Crispy Rice with Tuna. There’s also FREE parking in the building and this is huge especially in Ktown where parking can be a nightmare. For quick and casual sushi, I highly recommend!

We got the shrimp pimp, teriyaki chicken bowl, and veg friend rice. Not enough sauce with the teriyaki chicken bowl and the veggies we blannndd. The veggies were legit just steamed with no salt or seasoning. Good amount chicken and it was pretty good but not enough sauce. Fried veg rice was bland as well. Pretty good portion and was decent to eat but it’s wild that a 20 $ rice place uses mainly frozen veggies. The shrimp pimp sushi was very good. Would order this dish again for sure!! The place was pretty basic. It’s looks like it’s mainly for the business people that work there. I hate how pricy this place is and there’s only plastic forks and spoons. The staff is really kind and sweet. I would come back but prob just get the sushi. It pretty pricy though

Love their packaging! lol They have a pretty big menu so I just tried the most popular choice— the BTS Roll, which is basically spicy tuna with shrimp tempura and imitation crab filling. Pretty good!

Sushi Rolls, Bento, Chicken Wings...All my cravings is one place!!! Everything we had was delicious. SUSHI ROLLS (Ktown Roll and Side Chicken Roll) were creative and fresh, SUKIYAKI BENTO had so much food that 2 people could easily share it, ORANGE CHICKEN WINGS were huge, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and their THAI TEA was perfect! They also had RICE BOWLS, POKE and CHINESE DISHES on the menu that we didn't get to try. Atmosphere was casual, customer service was great, the place was clean and there's FREE PARKING behind the restaurant. So convenient. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this place. We will definitely be back if we are in the area!

The roll sizes are so smaller than menu photos. Do not expect as normal roll sizes as other places. Prices is higher than other places. Sizes, food quality is not good. I ordered Salomon double trouble ( worker suggested) salmon on top is so thin and smaller than menu photos and old reviews And ordered big bang, K town also very small and not enough the ingredients. Each price is $16, $17 + taxes Not enough 1 order for 1 person roll 8pcs are so small. They seems like reduced every ingredient. Reduced size and sushi roll has tiny salmon on top So disappointed. I won’t going back.

What I got: Sunkist Roll, Shrimp Tempura Crunch, Sumo Roll, Sukiyaki Beef Bento Box I love going to Koreatown for the awesome food but parking is always such a hassle. I either have to pay for parking or prepare myself for a lot of walking. Thankfully at Roll Call they provide free validated parking and parking is plentiful. This is such a cute spot for things like date nights or after work hangouts. They have happy hour from 4-8 pm every weekday and all day on the weekends where they have some amazing deals on appetizers and rolls. Their menu itself is super expansive as well so there is plenty of different dishes to try! Even if you're not a big sushi fan, they even have rice and noodle dishes. I HIGHLY recommend getting one of their bento boxes! The portions are amazing! It comes with rice, salad, California rolls, gyoza, and miso soup! Plus they really do not skim on the meat. The beef sukiyaki was super tender and flavorful. The eggs on top was the perfect addition! In terms of the rolls, I loved the GIANT rolls! They were so fun to eat and packed with flavor but my favorite definitely had to be the Sunkist roll! The Sunkist roll is no rice roll so you really focus on the taste of the salmon sashimi and imitation crab. I love the citrusy Yuzu flavor of this roll and it's also just visually stunning! If you're in LA, I definitely recommend checking this spot out!
