"I'm seeing signage up for Roll Call Sushi to open in Highland Park, where the new space will take over the former Tam’s on Figueroa next door to Mason’s Dumpling Shop; the Koreatown restaurant also operates a Miracle Mile location." - Farley Elliott

Google
Finally tried Roll Call for casual and affordable sushi in Ktown and it was so yummy!! The service was also so great. The rolls came out so fast and got me so full. I was cracking up by some of their roll names like “La Toxica” and “Cheating Boyfriend!” We tried the Sidechick which was delicious and a nice fresh complement with our other fried rolls. The Gordita and The Ktown Roll were so good and highly recommend the Crispy Rice with Tuna. There’s also FREE parking in the building and this is huge especially in Ktown where parking can be a nightmare. For quick and casual sushi, I highly recommend!

Google
Sushi Rolls, Bento, Chicken Wings...All my cravings is one place!!! Everything we had was delicious. SUSHI ROLLS (Ktown Roll and Side Chicken Roll) were creative and fresh, SUKIYAKI BENTO had so much food that 2 people could easily share it, ORANGE CHICKEN WINGS were huge, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside and their THAI TEA was perfect! They also had RICE BOWLS, POKE and CHINESE DISHES on the menu that we didn't get to try. Atmosphere was casual, customer service was great, the place was clean and there's FREE PARKING behind the restaurant. So convenient. I really can't think of anything negative to say about this place. We will definitely be back if we are in the area!

What I got: Sunkist Roll, Shrimp Tempura Crunch, Sumo Roll, Sukiyaki Beef Bento Box I love going to Koreatown for the awesome food but parking is always such a hassle. I either have to pay for parking or prepare myself for a lot of walking. Thankfully at Roll Call they provide free validated parking and parking is plentiful. This is such a cute spot for things like date nights or after work hangouts. They have happy hour from 4-8 pm every weekday and all day on the weekends where they have some amazing deals on appetizers and rolls. Their menu itself is super expansive as well so there is plenty of different dishes to try! Even if you're not a big sushi fan, they even have rice and noodle dishes. I HIGHLY recommend getting one of their bento boxes! The portions are amazing! It comes with rice, salad, California rolls, gyoza, and miso soup! Plus they really do not skim on the meat. The beef sukiyaki was super tender and flavorful. The eggs on top was the perfect addition! In terms of the rolls, I loved the GIANT rolls! They were so fun to eat and packed with flavor but my favorite definitely had to be the Sunkist roll! The Sunkist roll is no rice roll so you really focus on the taste of the salmon sashimi and imitation crab. I love the citrusy Yuzu flavor of this roll and it's also just visually stunning! If you're in LA, I definitely recommend checking this spot out!

Google
We got the shrimp pimp, teriyaki chicken bowl, and veg friend rice. Not enough sauce with the teriyaki chicken bowl and the veggies we blannndd. The veggies were legit just steamed with no salt or seasoning. Good amount chicken and it was pretty good but not enough sauce. Fried veg rice was bland as well. Pretty good portion and was decent to eat but it’s wild that a 20 $ rice place uses mainly frozen veggies. The shrimp pimp sushi was very good. Would order this dish again for sure!! The place was pretty basic. It’s looks like it’s mainly for the business people that work there. I hate how pricy this place is and there’s only plastic forks and spoons. The staff is really kind and sweet. I would come back but prob just get the sushi. It pretty pricy though

Google
Love their packaging! lol They have a pretty big menu so I just tried the most popular choice— the BTS Roll, which is basically spicy tuna with shrimp tempura and imitation crab filling. Pretty good!

Google
Definitely worth your time, the food was fresh and portions were decent. We shared 2 cut rolls and chow mein, price was $40. A little high, but 3 of us ate so not bad

Yelp
Salmon Double Trouble- salmon tempura and avocado roll, topped with salmon sashimi, jalapeño slices, sweet mayo, eel sauce, and sesame seeds. This was absolutely delicious! The salmon tempura was crispy and perfectly cooked, and the avocado added great creaminess. The salmon sashimi on top was so fresh and buttery. The jalapeño slices gave it the perfect kick of heat, and the sweet mayo and eel sauce created this amazing flavor combination. The sesame seeds added nice texture and nuttiness. Mistress- spicy tuna and avocado roll topped with seared pepper tuna, jalapeño slices, sriracha, crispy onions, and sweet spicy dressing. This roll was incredible! The spicy tuna base was flavorful and had great heat. The seared pepper tuna on top was amazing - perfectly seared with that nice crust while staying tender inside. The jalapeños and sriracha added extra spice, and the crispy onions gave it perfect crunch. The sweet spicy dressing tied everything together beautifully. Crispy Rice with Tuna- this was so good! The crispy rice was perfectly golden and crunchy on the bottom while staying tender on top. The tuna was so fresh and melted in your mouth. Such a perfect combination of textures and flavors. Salmon Poke Bowl- this was fresh and delicious! The salmon was cubed perfectly and so tender. All the ingredients were fresh and vibrant, and everything came together for a healthy, satisfying meal. Crazy Ex Girlfriend- spicy tuna and avocado roll topped with yellowtail, jalapeño, cilantro, sriracha, and yuzu dressing. This was amazing! The yellowtail on top was so fresh and had that perfect buttery texture. The cilantro added great freshness, and the yuzu dressing was bright and citrusy. The spice level was perfect and not overwhelming. Crab Rangoons- crispy wontons stuffed with cream cheese, imitation crab, and green onions. These were so crispy and delicious! The filling was creamy and flavorful with good crab taste, and the wontons were perfectly golden and crunchy. What I love about this place is not only is the sushi fresh and delicious, but they also make it so convenient with delivery! They deliver through DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grubhub, so you can enjoy this amazing sushi from the comfort of your home. The quality stays excellent even with delivery, and it's perfect for when you're craving fresh sushi but want to stay in. Having all three delivery platforms available makes it so easy to order whenever you want! Instagram: @hungrytamale

Yelp
Made the horrible mistake of trusting this place with my sushi craving tonight. $60 worth of food and i couldn't get one spicy mayo or eel sauce i went out of my way to beg for in the special instructions. Great business strategy. Completely ignore the customer requests but take their money. Horrible.

Yelp
Love the California roll so fresh everything just tasted so good.Pork & vegetable gyoza . Presentation on point I ate it all.

Yelp
Pros: sushi roll was good and fresh! Cons: the service was a 1 star! I walked in I could tell the owner was there he has orange hair and had his laptop and personal items on a table. Also prices are pricey $25 for 1 roll and a sparkle water and 1 miso soup. (Rice less roll) Here's the problem no greeting no smiles stood around for a while and the staff seemed sad, quiet and the owner called someone from the back to take my order. I felt unwelcome and also I had already been trying to find parking. They have a sign on the side in the blg stating they pay for parking as long as you dine in. I would suggest increasing customer service starting with management clearly lead by example. Secondly always greet customers it's important and also I witnessed a door dasher picking up 6 + bags of an order. He struggled out the door and nobody offered to get the door they just stared at him struggle to the car. Again customer service was not the key here. Thats the reason of the negative reviews. I'm not a local but came across this spot today and this is my true review! #EliteYelper

Yelp
This is my first poke bowl in LA. I love the way it was served, it's huge! and love that there's low sodium soy sauce only. Fish is good, avocado fresh out the peel

Yelp
Hands down one of the best sushi spots I've been to for lunch. Everything was fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor. The rolls were creative without being over-the-top, and the fish just melted in your mouth. The service was warm and attentive without being pushy, and the atmosphere was perfect--chill but elevated. Highly recommend Roll Call if you're looking for something delicious. I left full, happy, and already planning my next lunch visit. A total gem!

Yelp
Easy takeout option when you're hungry for sushi rolls. Online ordering directly on Yelp is convenient. The presentation/packaging for takeout is excellent. Food is always consistent and budget friendly.

Yelp
I've ordered a few times from this spot now, although I haven't gone in person, but so far the DoorDash deliveries have been phenomenal. Their packaging makes their sushi taste almost as fresh as directly in store. I ordered the crispy rice, spicy tuna, and was pleasantly surprised on how crispy it still was! Their sukiyaki beef bowl portion sizes were huge and their sauces are packed so well. This is the kind of service that will make u keep reordering! I will definitely visit this spot in person soon.
google avatar

Yelp
New packaging for their DoorDash order. Love it. Always quality sushi - though in the expensive side. One day I will try eating there.

Yelp
Rolls on rolls on rollllsss! This place got options! On this particular visit we only tried their sushi rolls but they also have Chinese food options as well. The rolls were all tasty, good balance of rice, fish, sauces, and good portions. Our favorite was La Toxica roll! The cream cheese tied everything together with the spicy eel sauce, delicioussss! Put that sauce on everything ! All in all, the place was nice , open and clean, the staff were super friendly, fun names for their rolls, and the food was tasty, we would come back to try more of their other items. Don't forget to get the Thai iced tea, perfection! Tip: Free 2 hour parking off Shatto in the garage. Big plus for koreatown!

Yelp
Walked in and was not greeted nor didn't know it was pay at counter and seat yourself since it was our first time there and the cashier didn't bother explaining and just watch me stand there until I had to ask. After that it was pretty simple to order from their menu at the register. After the rolls came I had to ask for plates. We ordered the emperor roll, salmon double trouble roll, and the holy grail roll. They were good but tasted pretty basic to me and heavily drenched in sauce.
google avatar

Yelp
Roll Call has all different types of rolls from the classics, multiple types of fish, and cooked as well. Not only do they have rolls but they also have yummy appetizers and bento boxes. Every roll had a little amount of rice and stuffed with fish. The prices here are amazing and I can't wait to tell my friends and family. Definitely a bang for your buck and how sushi should be! Pro Tip: park in the validated parking structure, it's free ;)

Yelp
I came across this place by accident. But what a great accident this was. I was trying to find another sushi spot on Wilshire with a similar name but this restaurant popped up. To My surprise it was closer to me than the other place i was trying to order from so i decided to give them a try. I ordered a teriyaki bowl and wow i was amazed from the food to the presentation to the packaging. Very very professional for a small business. Everything was packaged so well and my online order was done right one time. My food was nice and hot still when i picked up and the service was so nice. I cant talk much about the dining experience as i got my food to go but the service for my Togo order was great. The portion for the bowl was huge and i was able to share the bowl between me and my mom which was around $17 for my brown but very well worth it.

Yelp
Highly recommended sushi spot in Ktown. Right when you walk in it's super nice and super spacious. The sushi presentation is definitely on point and the flavor and taste matches as well. We got 4 rolls of sushi, the La Toxica, Bambaos roll, the black pink roll l, and the salmon double trouble roll. All very very good in their own way and taste. If you're in the ktown area and in the mood for sushi this place will not disappoint.

Yelp
Craving sushi without breaking the bank? Roll Call Sushi in Ktown offers fresh, delicious rolls and sashimi, perfect for takeout or a cozy dine-in experience. Plus, there's free parking. This hidden gem delivers affordable and good quality sushi. The names of the rolls are so silly too but we ended up ordering the crispy rice with spicy tuna, sunkist, the town, the diva, a sparking sake, and thai tea. The sunkist was by far my favorite roll lowk because it had no rice but I loved that part so much. The fish tasted fresh and the sauces that were paired with the sushi were perfect. The food paired perfectly with the sparking sake called Mio which didn't even taste like alcohol!

Yelp
We came by around 6:30 pm on a Saturday night and were surprised to see there was barely anyone. I was a lil skeptical at first but fortunately, it exceeded my expectations! We ordered the sukiyaki beef bento box, salmon poke bowl, salmon double trouble roll, crazy ex-girlfriend roll, and thai teas. Sukiyaki beef was a lil on the fattier side but still tasted delicious. The rolls were super yummy and filling, an explosion of flavors in your mouth! You could also tell they made their own imitation crab for the poke bowl as it was so fresh and creamy :-) Cravings satisfied!! Prices are not at all bad. Free parking structure right behind/underneath. Low light ambiance with TV's to keep you entertained. They also offer happy hour 4-8 pm on weekends. A hidden gem for sure!!

Yelp
Fast Casual Japanese Spot with large portions, big flavors and a massive fresh sushi menu is Roll Call Sushi in Koreantown LA, CA. Friends of mine asked me to check this place out and it did not disappoint! Plus there is a free parking for Roll Call customers! Woohoo! Picking rolls from their crazy sushi menu made me want to order them all! Their bento box were massively huge as I stalked other customer's food. This is what I ordered. Ktown Roll: shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado & pickled jalapeño roll topped with eel tempura, scallions & sweet spicy dressing Salmon Double Trouble Roll: salmon tempura & avocado roll topped with salmon sashimi, jalapeño slices, sweet mayo, eel sauce & sesame seeds Salmon Teriyaki Bento: rice, salad, 4 pieces of California Roll, 3 pieces of pork & vegetable gyoza (fried dumplings), miso soup & salmon teriyaki ( large pieces of salmon! ) Bulgogi Beef Bento: rice, salad, 4 pieces of California Roll, 3 pieces of pork & vegetable gyoza (fried dumplings), miso soup & bulgogi beef (huge mound of beef) I was impressed with Roll Call Sushi in Koreatown and can't wait to come back to check out the rest of the menu like their Poke Bowls, Rice Bowls, Katsu, Udon Soup and more. Keep in mind, it's a fast casual Japanese spot so it isn't fancy but the servers are attentive and helpful!

Yelp
Roll Call is located conveniently near the Wilshire / Western train station. The sushi rolls are creative and well thought out. The combinations of flavors works well. My favs were the Green train, Crazy Ex GF and the Emperor's roll. I also tried the Tempura Sampler which was fried well, batter was light and crispy. The staff is friendly and attentive. They answered all my questions. The ambiance is clean, trendy and chill. I highly recommend going to Roll Call for lunch or whenever you need your sushi roll fix!

Yelp
Food was delicious. My favorite was the mistress roll. I enjoyed the Thai tea however it was very caffeinated. Great service, clean and, relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
Next time you're in K-Town you HAVE to try them out. Their food is SO fresh. I'm drooling over my pictures right now. The service is great, they're so nice and helpful. Their sushi roll names had me laughing at the table! Their atmosphere is so clean and you just KNOW you're gonna eat good!

Sarai B.

Yelp
I love this sushi place ! This was my third time coming back! Never lets me down! The service was good, workers were kind. We ordered 4 sushi rolls it did take about 15minutes for our rolls to come out. They do have music playing but it's very chill nothing too loud . The roll on the bottom left is SunKist, top left naughty ninja , bottom right big bang roll and top right is mistress.

World Wide Barber B.

Yelp
Greater place ! Sushi was tasty . Sunski roll recommended. Clean place, good atmosphere.

Yelp
I've wanted to try Roll Call for a while, the stars finally aligned and I made a date to head over there to go for dinner! I parked on the street, (because I assumed there was no parking) but when I got there, it turns out that they do have a parking structure and they validate! So that is a major plus. They have a variety of options on their menu, with a strong emphasis on sushi! They also have bento boxes, Chinese food and a poke bowl. I got the Rainbow Roll and the Salmon Double Trouble. The rainbow roll was refreshing and fresh, and I really appreciate the size of the rolls! It has a lot of fish and filling. The Salmon Double Trouble was my favorite! The salmon tempura inside the roll was really good, and the sauce on top really brought it all together! My husband tried the Spicy Chicken Bento box and really enjoyed it. He really liked the fact that it came with everything you'd want for dinner; gyoza, California rolls, salad and miso soup! Wonderful new sushi spot that I will frequent more often, especially now that I know they have free 2 hour parking!
google avatar

Atalana L.

Yelp
Roll Call is a really chill sushi place, perfect for a casual lunch spot. Service was good it's a low social interaction place, you grab your own water, and you go up to the counter when you're ready to order which is convenient . Plus the food is delicious !
google avatar

Kit K.

Yelp
This place is so good. Every meat I've tried has been insanely flavorful, and everything else tastes super fresh. The bento even comes with a cute carryout bag if you ask for it to go, plus a rich, delicious miso broth on the side. It's around $25, but honestly, totally worth it.
google avatar

Ada L.

Yelp
Roll Call has all different Japanese food from rolls to bentos to poke and noodles. Their portions are big and filling. I enjoyed everything I got but I have to say the Big Bang salmon roll is probably the BEST ROLL I've had. I'm not a fan of siracha but you don't taste it and the sweet onion topping on the roll is so unique and good! After taking photos and videos the udon soaked up all the soup but the texture was still great. They have carbonated and glass bottle drinks and alcohol, honestly a good place for lunch or dinner. Service was great, all the workers were welcoming and nice! Simple and good ambience. There is like an underground parking area. We got the: Big Bang Salmon cut roll Sukiyaki Beef Bento Box Shrimp Tempura Udon Soup Yellowtail Poke bowl and salad
google avatar

Yelp
Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and packed with flavor. The fish literally melts in your mouth, and you can tell the quality is top-tier. If you love sushi, this place is a must-visit. I'll definitely be coming back again
google avatar

Yelp
everything here was absolutely delicious and it hit because we were craving good sushi! we loved the variety of options, and the sushi's flavors and ingredients were incredibly fresh. there was a good amount of seating, and the service was quick.

Nicolle P.

Yelp
Manager was absolutely disgusting never experienced such an awful encounter no manners or welcome in just a blank stare at me the manager had blonde hair and a sweaty face and hygiene was terrible!!!! They let anyone handle your food there will never come back. Here's the problem it's my second time coming and again the same guy with blonde hair no greeting no smiles stood around for a while and the staff seemed sad, quiet and the owner called someone from the back to take my order. I felt unwelcome It's not my fault you don't want to work there ! Find a new manager costumer service is TERRIBLE
google avatar

Lorena M.

Yelp
I was craving a bento box, and this place came on my search as the nearest location. Gave it a try! Walked it, and was greeted by a server. You place your order at counter and pay type of restaurant. The restaurant wasn't too busy and ambiance was comfortable. Servers could be more friendly, but their service was okay. Food was delicious, and fresh! Garage Parking on site and they validate. Will come again!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
This place could use some more veggie options...yes, I know it's sushi. Sometimes vegans/vegetarians have to go out to eat with friends and would like some options. There was one roll available (cucumber). Other places have cream cheese rolls, avocado, peanut, or a combination of these different things. The wait for sushi was VERY long even though the place wasn't too busy. Several of my friends ordered bento boxes instead and they looked delicious (if I ate chicken). Perhaps a vegetarian-friendly bento box?
google avatar

Zhanagul S.

Yelp
My husband and I love grabbing their food to go! Their bento boxes and sushi rolls are always on point--super tasty and consistent every time. The restaurant features a clean, modern ambiance. The service is friendly and efficient, making the whole experience a breeze. They're in an amazing location, so I hope they make the most of it. We're big fans and can't wait to see them keep growing while staying just as amazing!
google avatar

St240Jo C.

Yelp
Not sure why this place has such high ratings. I went around 7:20 PM, and it was nearly empty, yet service was incredibly slow despite having around 10 workers. Food was mediocre (6/10), and the service was disappointing (2/10). They don't even have a physical menu--you have to check Grubhub. The staff seemed focused only on to-go orders, and no one was paying attention to dine-in customers. Our food sat for five minutes before we had to ask about it. The chef rang the bell, but no one responded. With that many employees, I expected better coordination. Unfortunately, tipping felt like a waste given the poor service. I wouldn't come back.

Yelp
Roll Call Sushi is a great and affordable sushi restaurant located in Koreatown. Parking was easy as there was a parking garage located right around the corner free of charge. The Mistress roll was our favorite, every piece came loaded with flavor and the jalapeno slices on top were a nice spicy touch. We also tried the Spicy Tuna and the Side Chick, both great rolls and the sushi tasted very fresh. Always have to try out the tempura, so we went with the Tempura Sampler in addition. The tempura batter was excellent adding a satisfying crunch to each bite and wasn't overly battered. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. Our rolls only took about 15 minutes until we were able to dig in. Can't wait to come back and try more of their specialty rolls!

Amira D.

Yelp
Yum yum yum. Yummmyyyyy. I can't wait to go back and eat some more delicious sushi. The ambiance is decent. And service is good.

Yelp
This is my first time visiting this restaurant at Koreatown (I've been to their other location in Miracle Mile). There's a free public parking structure behind the restaurant, which a great for Koreatown cuz it's really hard to find street parking in this area. I got the "Holy Grail" roll which has a little spicy flavor, and the other roll "Sunkist" is without rice, so I can cut down on my carbs (which is a great option that I love here!) : The Holy Grail $18.95 : yellow tail & scallion roll topped with avocado, jalapeño, Sriracha, and sweet wasabi dressing. Sunkist Roll $16.95 : (No rice) imitation crab, avocado and cucumbers wrapped in salmon sashimi & topped with scallions & yuzu dressing.

Yelp
Located at the Wilshire Vermont station in Koreatown, Roll Call serves fresh sushi and delicious bento boxes. We got the yellowtail and salmon salad bowls and chicken Katsu and fried shrimp bento. The yellowtail was our favorite! It was so fatty and delicious. We also really enjoyed the crispy fried shrimp! Friendly servers, laid back ambience, we really enjoyed dining there. You can park inside the building and get validation. They have another location in Miracle Mile. If you want really good Japanese food, try Roll Call! It's definitely worth it!

Yelp
I found a new sushi place that quickly became my favorite. They have a wide variety of rolls, bento boxes, and drinks to choose from. Their sushi is so flavorful that I don't even need to use soy sauce. One standout roll I love is called Sunkist, which has salmon sashimi wrapped around imitation crab, avocado, and cucumber, topped with scallions and yuzu dressing. It's perfect for summer with its refreshing and tasty combination. I highly recommend it! Their blackpink roll and the ktown roll is also very fresh and flavorful. Their bento box is also worth trying. I had the bulgogi beef bento, and the beef was incredibly flavorful. It paired well with the rice. The dumplings in the bento were crispy on the outside and filled with delicious ingredients. Their Thai tea is amazing too. It's served ice cold and has a creamy and delicious taste that goes perfectly with the sushi. It's especially enjoyable during the summer. The service is fast and friendly, and they even have indoor parking for convenience. 2 hrs free parking. I would give this amazing sushi place a 5 stars and see you next time.

Bret C.

Yelp
This is going to sound really petty, but when you spend a lot of money via Uber Eats and your order includes miso soup, one would expect for there to be at least a couple of pieces of tofu and maybe a few shreds of seaweed and a couple of green onions. But there were none. Just pure broth, lol. Come on Roll Call, step it up.

Yelp
Came here with some friends and tried a couple items including their sushi rolls, beef bento box, and also their yellowtail poke salad! They have a lot of cool rolls with different toppings and sauces. They organize their rolls on the menu depending on what protein you want. I love their blue crab California roll! It's made with real crab so good!! My next fave is probably the yellowtail avocado because I like my rolls simpler. The poke salad is also worth getting! We got it with yellowtail and it was so fresh! Street parking or lot parking!

Yelp
First time here! The food was good and the sushi was a good size. The way it works is you order at the counter then seat yourself. The servers do come and check on you which is nice. They have a variety of options on their menu from friend to raw. Both rolls I tried were good I believe it was called shrimp pimp that one was my favorite! & shrimp tempura. The restaurant is big and lots of space to sit. I came on a Tuesday so it was not as busy! Hope this helps!

Yelp
Roll Call is a great spot for lunch, especially for the corporate office workers around the area. The sushi rolls are delicious and there are so many different options to choose from. Service is great and staff is very friendly. We got the sukiyaki bento box, bombazo roll, cheating boyfriend roll, and gordito roll. The sukiyaki bento box comes with so much food that it can feed 2 people. The beef is so tender and flavorful. The rolls all come very packed and the sauces drizzled on top makes it so yummy.

Yelp
Roll Call has an amazing selection of rolls, poke, bento boxes and more ! The yellowtail and salmon in the poke bowl were so fresh and big portions. The salmon double trouble roll was tasty and a perfect combination of salmon tempura, salmon sashimi, avocado and jalapeño. There is underground parking and the ambience is casual. I recommend trying this Japanese place in the heart of Koreatown in LA !

Yelp
Roll Call is one of my favorite places when I am in the area! Their sushi is incomparable to any other spot within a 5-mile radius. I usually make sure to order a thai tea as well
