A Guide to Sukhumvit: Where to Eat, Play, and Stay in Bangkok’s Bustling Downtown Core

"A larger, glossier space across the road in Ekkamai, this spot is ideal for enjoying locally roasted beans in sleek surrounds." - Craig Sauers

One of the best cafés near BTS Ekkamai. It’s just a short walk from the station and totally worth the visit. The vibe is relaxed and stylish, perfect for a quick coffee stop or a chill afternoon. Their coconut latte is honestly the best I’ve ever had. It’s smooth, creamy, and has just the right balance of coconut and coffee flavor. I was genuinely surprised how good it was. The coconut cream cake is also amazing, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. I don’t usually go for coconut desserts because they can sometimes feel oily or heavy, but this one is completely different. It tastes fresh and perfectly done. I can definitely see myself coming back here again and again. Such a gem in Ekkamai for coffee and dessert lovers.

First visit here @ Rolling Roasters Ekamai and it didn't disappoint. Good selection of coffee beans, nice treandy atmosphere and great Aircon to cool the heat in Bangkok. The house blend coffee is creamy with an unique citrus 🍊 🍋 taste. The Thai Tea is the best I had with the right balance of sweetness without over powering the tea. If you are in Ekamai area and want a pitstop, this place is recommended 👍

Chance upon this cafe at Ekkamai after a late lunch. Nice ambience and great place to hangout for coffee. What’s shockingly delicious is the coconut chiffon with fresh coconut flesh! Totally mind blowing!

The food and coffee they're serving are good but there's nothing really unique from it. You can also find it from other good cafes. It's a very chill place so if you want to work or study, this could be your place. The only thing that bothered me is the peeling paint from the ceiling but other than that it's a very good place. We stayed in their second floor, I'm not sure if there are sockets though. Tried to look for one but couldn't find anything. Although the groundfloor has plenty of it. The staff were helpful and friendly.

A beautiful and unique café—one of the nicest I’ve ever visited. It’s a great place for business conversations or working, as long as you’re not too stressed. The drinks taste good, and I also bought a bag of their coffee beans, which I really liked.

So much potential here. The drinks and dessert were tasty but it wasn’t anything that doesn’t exist elsewhere. The space is enormous, looks like it would be friendly for people who want to come work or study but their tables were tiny and the chairs were very uncomfortable. Understandably so if they were using these later at night if the atmosphere changes but as a cafe it was rather inconvenience. Upstair was quiet but the tables were all sticky and dirty. The leather from the chairs were pealing of and so much smudges on their white wall and ceilings. Music was good and staffs were friendly. Convenient parking spot that can be validated.

[4/5] I’ve been here about five times now. By day, it’s a bustling cafe; by night, it turns into a cocktail bar. On weekends, it gets packed even early in the morning, so don’t expect a quiet workspace. Personally, I don’t come here often for laptop work, it’s just not that kind of place. At night, honestly, 8 times out of 10 I’ve seen it completely empty. Cocktails are okay. somewhere between so-so and just fine. This place is clearly more about the coffee. ☕️ Coffee highlight: Their cold brew. Smooth, bold, and consistently satisfying. It’s one of those little joys that powers me through my mornings this week❤️

After a few more trials — adjusting grind size and experimenting with different water profiles — the coffee did reveal a slight improvement, showing a timid brightness and a touch of acidity that hadn’t appeared in the first brews. We went to this coffee shop specifically looking for imported coffee beans. The place had a few options, and we chose a package called "Very Melon" because the description indicated it had better acidity, which was what we were looking for. We paid 390 baht for the 250-gram bag. Unfortunately, the coffee left a lot to be desired. When we tried it, we found the bean had very little complexity. We noticed a predominance of high bitterness and a complete absence of the acidity we were expecting. They accept card payments.
