"Rolling Snack is a new Sichuan restaurant located in a Newark strip mall in the East Bay suburbs. It focuses exclusively on Sichuan street snacks, offering a variety of aggressively seasoned and inexpensive dishes similar to those found in night markets in Sichuan. The menu features Sichuan-style fried skewers available in 24 different varieties, including meats and vegetables, as well as cold braised items. Signature offerings include beef tripe, pork intestines, duck heads, and stinky tofu made in-house. The restaurant aims to replicate the street food experience in a sit-down setting." - Luke Tsai

new place to go after hours, the food really bring back the childhood memories, taste just like my favorite skewers when I was in elementary. This restaurant open till midnight, witch is a great spot to hang out with family and friends.

We ordered the food and selected picked up ASAP at 5pm. Yet we’re unable to get our takeout even at 8. The owner seems like not caring about people ordering take out at all. The store clearly has a really awful logistics and has absolutely no respect to their customers.

A very cool place in the bay area to hang out with friends at night (and late night). They makes traditional Chinese style skewers, which tastes like same as those you found in Chinese night market! It will be perfect to pair with beers! Plus, the singer’s performance was great, I would give this place a 10 stars if I could!

Szechuan flavor 5 stars! I love their duck neck and wings, the store is clean, nice service. Most importantly their food are like legit awesome. I am not a super spicy person, their food is just as much flavor as I love that.

Nice vibe for late night bar style restaurant. The fry skewer is tasty, really a small bite but good flavor and seasoned well. Remind me of the time in China. Reservations are recommended since the capacity of restaurant is small.

Authentic Sichuan street food style. I’ve tried a couple of times never disappointed. My favorite is their Sichuan style beef jerky, a must have for my Netflix time. Today I ordered fried skewers and literally finished before got home cause the smell was too tempting in the car, will definitely go back again soon. Thumbs up!

The mini skewers are the best! You can order a good variety of them! And don’t miss out the live singing performance on weekend nights. We had great interactions with the performer. Will definitely come back.

I have missed the deep fried street food from childhood. The skewers were so crispy and juicy. Bay area is full of bbq skewer restaurants and finally Rolling Snacks, a fried skewer one. I was so excited to try out the food. It seems to be over priced. But considering it is the only fried skewer restaurant in the east bay (if not the whole bay area), I thought the price was reasonable. There is no way that fried food can taste bad, right? Wrong! I ordered beef, lamb, chicken heart, and chicken skin skewers. Only the chicken skins ones reached average. The others were all tasteless, over cooked and hard to chew. I don't think the meats were fresh either. I was so disappointed. It could be that the restaurant is affected by pandemic and cannot maintain its quality. Whatever the reason, I will not eat their food again.
