Romantik Hotel Knippschild

I can't speak to the hotel, but the restaurant was absolutely fantastic, especially if you are looking for traditional German fare. The Sauerbraten with dumplings is absolutely to die for. The beautiful rustic hunt-club aesthetic doesn't hurt, either. Where else can you eat wild boar with actual wild boar tusks mounted on the wall. Asterix and Obelix would be so jealous!

Stayed here for one night. Very quiet village allthough some rooms are close to the road which can cause some road noise. Staff very friendly. Room was fine and spotlessly clean, bathroom quite small relative to the room size. We did find it hard to get used to the german practice of having to separate beds with separate duvets, instead of a proper king bed with one cover but this is the case almost everywhere. Good sauna area, very peaceful. Had dinner in the main restaurant which was sadly a disapointment. Food looked nothing like the pictures in other reviews, bland taste, and seriously expensive for rural Germany. Also slow service. Breakfast was adequate.

Restaurant was great. All dishes were really delicious. Also has a very good service. Definitely would like to be there again.

A very well maintained hotel. Very quiet at night. Rooms are very clean and bathroom is very nice. Friendly staff. Great food. The saunas are at the right temperature and are a nice place to spend a relaxing afternoon. Great starting place for long hikes in the surrounding.

Not much to find in this little village in the countryside. That is if you do not take this hotel in consideration. What a nice place it is. Typically german Landhotel, extended over the years. I was given room 206 which is a single room, it has a very comfortable bed, nice bathroom, free wifi, you need to climb some stairs to get there. The room is on the small side which made it impossible to fit a small writing desk, that was the only thing I missed during my stay in this room. There is a comfortable chair in stead ;-) . I enjoyed a very nice dinner in the hotel restaurant, which was quite busy on a Tuesday evening. As I had some spare hours I also tried the wellnes department, this is really really beautifull, it loks brand new, has 2 saunas and a steambath, enough relax areas etc. very nice decorated. Certainly worth making the trip.

Our room was lovely and large, with a good size bathroom with two sinks! The walk-in shower was huge. The bathroom was very modern and super clean. There is no AC, so the windows were open. Unfortunately, the street was right outside our window.||||The room was furnished nicely, with easy to turn on and off lighting. On the negative side, there's no elevator, so we carried our luggage up to our room using stairs.

I stayed in this very quaint hotel 5 years ago and liked it last time, but loved it this time! They have remodeled the rooms with great amenities such as heated bathroom floor and heated towel rack!! The rooms are very nicely done and equipped.||But make sure you don't get there very late because they lock the front door. Luckily, my colleague was already there to check me in, unlock the front door!||Good breakfast already included, and friendly staff!||FYI, hotel is located about 20 min taxi ride (about 55 Euros) from Paderborn airport.

I visit the region frequently for work and after some experimenting in the region this hotel quickly has become a second home for me. The rooms are large and clean and the staff know you by name only after the second visit. ||Dinner is excellent, there is some serious cooking going on and if game is your thing it will not come much fresher than here. I like. A lot.
