Newest Restaurants to Check Out in Savannah, Georgia | Eater Carolinas

"Longtime local legend Jerome Steele has opened his all-day neighborhood watering hole in the South Historic District. From noon to 1 a.m., barflies can enjoy deviled eggs with a weekly rotating filling, meatball grinders, priced-right cocktails, and Rome’s famed perogies. Ample parking and an outdoor area make it easy to drop by for a power lunch or all-day affair." - Kiki Dy

So happy there’s a perogie spot in Savannah now!! All of the food was amazing, the owner is super friendly & there’s a cozy atmosphere! Love the music & movies they were playing too. There’s also a parking lot which is super convenient for the area! Highly recommend

Update: Went back now that it’s fully up and running. Blown away by the good once again. Everything was so good, and now even better there’s alcohol. Rome’s just soft opened, it has great bones, some small growing pains. The food was AMAZING. To die for pierogis (we ate them too fast for a picture). Pizza on Tuesdays hot, fresh, delicious. A+ sandwich’s. We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. Jerome is doing an awesome job. Can’t wait to see this place become a staple of Savannah.

Great little local bar with good food, good service, and great patrons. First Friday bike night is held here, and I could think of no better location in Savannah. The drinks and the food are reasonably priced and taste good. It’s always a good time at Romes.

Great old school Savannah bar and grill.. we've lost this type of place às bougie has replace fun in this town over the years... we've become a victim of our own success.. So I'm glad to see a true neighborhood bar making a comeback here

Jerome! It was so nice meeting you. I felt somehow immediately welcomed and comfortable… to the point I almost walked out without paying 😭🤣 Friendly, down to earth service and I indeed loved that meatball grinder! I will definitely be back for the chicken parm and that Detroit pizza!!

Romes's is the quintessential west side Savannah dining experience, stick around long enough, and everyone will know your name. The menu is where this place really shines! The owner is constantly trying to outdo himself but keeps the place grounded in local charm.

NEW very cool vibe -no grungy atmosphere! Don’t be off put by the hood-spacious and well lit outside area - single female😍

Yelp
After a long ride into Savannah the other day, the wedding crew was famished. Looking for something close by to eat, we took a trip to Romes neighborhood bar! Going inside, there was jamming music inside and the place had some cool looking items scattered across the wall. Rome took our orders very fast and was highly attentive! That day, we ordered some blueberry magaritas, one chicken parm grinder, a sembrano grinder with a chicken cutlet, perogies with potato and cheese, and a bunch of Philly cheese steak egg rolls! Moving on with my review, the food and drinks were pretty awesome! The margaritas had a nice balance of sweetness, tartness, and tangy flavors; I liked that that there were real blueberries! Chicken sembrano had a nice spread of mayo and ranch to keep sauce moist, cutlet crispy; overall simple but tasty sandwhich! The chicken parm grinder had tender chicken cutlet as well, but felt a little dryer than the Sembrano and needed more red sauce. Perogies tasted fresh, not frozen, and had nice creamy cheesey potato filling! Best thing to order was Philly eggrolls; great value and tender shaved ribeye! Could've been a little cheesier though, but still very tasty. Overall, the quality, value, and service was pretty well received at Romes. I'd be happy to pay a visit again when I come back to Savannah. Final rating 4/5 stars.

Yelp
Community feeling, Rome is always working hard behind the bar taking care of drinks and food, he's very attentive even if he's refilling your 6 waters because of the Georgia heat. The food is better than you would expect from a small bar. Classic rock music playing in the background and a random movie playing on TV this place fucks and has all the vibes.

Yelp
Hooooooooly goodness this place rocks socks. I apologize for not having a photo of the food, it smelled and looked so good when it came that we absolutely dug in and it was WELL worth it. This place is freaking AWESOME. The food is the prices are lowwwwww and this is like the ONLY place in Savannah you can get brunch till 3pm which is amazing. If you like sleeping in and still have a 5 star brunch THIS is the place. Still gotta try the lunch menu but after trying brunch we can't wait!! Also the bartender/owner was super cool, kind and welcoming. We'll be back soon! PS I got the Gabba Gool Sandwich. you're welcome if you order this
