"Meaning ‘House of Flavours,’ Rongros preserves the taste of traditional Thai cuisine on the banks of the Chao Phraya River with a stunning view of Wat Arun. Highlights include the green curry with rib eye beef served with roti and the tangy glass noodle salad. The vintage décor, including the chandeliers, painted Chinese panels, and wooden furniture only add to the experience. Book a table on the terrace for dinner to take in the view at sunset. Keep in mind that this restaurant is a favorite spot for tourists, so it's a good idea to make a reservation in advance to secure your place." - Michelin Inspector

The Bangkok Restaurants You Can't Miss

"Perched on a rooftop across the river from Wat Arun, this lively terrace is known for cocktails spiked with lao khao and a dinner menu that zeroes in on comforting Central Thai dishes such as rib eye krapow and playful plates like watermelon cubes topped with sun-dried snakehead fish." - Chris Schalkx

MICHELIN Food Map: Bangkok’s Historic Rattanakosin

"This converted garage is now a bastion of Thai flavours, with comfortable seating inside as well as rooftop dining for food with a fantastic river view. Home-style Thai cooking featuring locally sourced ingredients, such as Rongros shrimp fried rice, green curry with roti, dried fish (from Saraburi) over watermelon, spicy fried morning glory salad, and Si Racha pineapple fried rice." - MICHELIN Guide Thailand

Excellent place for dinner & drinks by the river. We made reservation and asked for indoor seating (aircon) by the window. What an Awesome sunset view. Decor classy & cozy. Great music choice, not to loud and still easy to have a conversation. Food was excellent at reasonable price point. We especially loved the garlic prawns. Friendly service. Such a wonderful dining experience. Totally recommend this place.

Absolutely delicious! We didn’t get to go for dinner because you need a reservation, but we got there when they opened for lunch and they were able to seat us. It was so pretty with a great view of the temple on the other side of the river , the service was great and the food was amazing. We shared the fried pork belly, garlic prawns and wings. The wings were good but just good everything else though the flavors were sublime. I would recommend getting a side of rice especially with the prawns as the sauce was too good to waste and paired well with the rice. The meal was actually very filling too. I wasn’t even hungry for dinner later! Everything together if I remember correctly was around $54 so a bit more expensive than other places around but SO worth it.

Return visit to Bangkok. First visit had us attend restaurant to find that it was too busy to accept us. On this return visit, we lucked out and they took our family of four - last four seat available. As I learned, it is not always about just the food for the Michelin award. It is a culmination. With that said, I will give it 5 star. Price - expect to pay $35 - $40 per person for a very good meal, salad and drink per person. If you have this mindset you will be pleased. Atmosphere. Very small restaurant inside but quant atmosphere. Nice to see what others are having before you order. Service. Outstanding. Very accommodating and quick. We ordered additional after original order and it was easily supported and timed perfectly. Food. Yes, very good. We had chicken pad thai, salad, wings, spring roles. Chicken wings are not a North American pub chicken wing with the batter. With that said, taste and flavour was excellent. Salad was morning glory with dipping sauce and it was superb. Chicken pad Thai was excellent. Very good serving size and taste was exquisite. Freshness was part of delivery of course. As we looked at all other patrons and their food, they looked delicious as well. They close between 1500-1700 as an FYI.

I visited this restaurant after seeing many good reviews on blogs. It’s located by the river, so the atmosphere was really nice. The restaurant has a Michelin mark, which raised my expectations. However, the server who looked after our table had some trouble understanding us, and there was a small mistake with our order. For a Michelin-rated place, I think the staff could be trained a bit better in communication. The food was generally tasty, but nothing particularly special considering it’s a Michelin restaurant. I feel you could find dishes of similar quality at local spots for the same price. It’s worth visiting once for the experience, but I probably wouldn’t come back again.

Google
we talking fancy dining but with local flavours all the dishes are classic local thai cuisines but finessed a bit more and made a bit more fancy overall the food was good. i wouldn't say everything was absolutely amazing however it was still definitely good. that and being paid with the view of Wat Arun makes this one special dining spot! you are literally seated right next to the river, or rather in and on the river, looking right across to Wat Arun its a smaller spot so seating is limited, and seeing how popular and busy these guys can get i def suggest coming in early. i believe that do not take bookings (? i could be wrong)

Rongros is a riverside gem by the Chao Phraya River that truly lives up to its Michelin recognition. The view is absolutely stunning. You can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of Wat Arun while dining. Every dish is beautifully presented and full of authentic Thai flavors with a refined touch. The food tastes incredible rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and savor both the scenery and the taste. Perfect for a special evening or anyone who wants to experience Thai cuisine at its finest. ⭐️ Michelin-awarded taste, mesmerizing view, and warm Thai hospitality 👏🏻

I was so excited about this and it did not disappoint! The food is excellent although the price matches the prime viewing location. Getting a rooftop table can be risky as there is definitely no rain plan and the restaurant is always booked solid so you can’t simply move inside. Luckily it did not rain on us. The service is not Michelin quality but the overall experience is well worth it.

I loved this restaurant. We asked the waiter for food recommendations and he was spot on. Everything was divine and the incredible view of Wat Arun topped it off. I booked 3 weeks in advance so I could request a seat by the window and would absolutely do it again. Well worth it!
