Roni's Bakery - Hampstead

Ordered a chocolate Birthday Cake. Beautifully adorned with fruit and a fresh cream chocolate sponge. Delicious too as somebody had a sneaky peck.

Staff just weren’t bothered when my friend and I reported that our cup of tea was only warm when served. Then our jacket potatoes were served warm plus not up to much. Left most of our food, as very tasteless and disappointing. Told waitress how we felt but she just shrugged her shoulders! Cakes looked good but I will definitely not be returning with such negative staff attitudes and poor food/warm tea.

Sorry guys I have to say. English breakfast - really disappointing. Especially in line with the price. I get that Hamstead is a gentrified location and prices will reflect that, but if your going to charge £12/£13 + for a small breakfast, you gotta back it up with some quality :( My sausages were pink in the middle and you charged me £5.99 for a potion of chips on the side. £20 plus service charge for a very average breakfast with a can of coke - sometimes you want a fry up in a nicer setting - but your better off just going to a standard builders cafe. Turkey bacon I swapped with sausage - but seriously, turkey bacon? The sausages (apart from being undercooked) weren’t even premium type sausages either. Eggs were done very well to be fair, and I like how your bagels are bakery style - the only saving grace but not enough. Staff were nice enough. But wouldn’t go again or recommend. Felt a bit robbed - feel bad leaving this review but I hope this will help improve the offering - as too many places are charging ‘London prices’ because they can, but not backing it up with any quality, thought, or real substance.

I ordered a quinoa salad and a turmeric latte. When I got my salad there was a medium dark hair sticking out of my salad. The quinoa salad was served by a waitress with medium long dark hair so I presume it was hers, or it could have been from the kitchen staff. Anyway, I ate it for a bit (because I am a bit of a drifter) but I could no longer eat it and went to the till. I explained what happened to a girl. She took off the service charge of my bill and nevertheless made me pay £19! I will never return to Roni’s Bakeries!!!!! The hygiene levels is terrible!!!!

I’ve been to Ronnie’s a few times, but I’m finally done with this place. The manager's behavior is beyond unacceptable. She's incredibly rude, not only to the staff but also to customers, which creates such a hostile environment. You can feel the tension the moment you walk in, and it completely ruins the atmosphere. It’s definitely not a cozy or comfortable place to relax or have a good time. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a pleasant experience.

Good portion sizes, reasonably priced and good quality ingredients. What more do you need for brunch. There are lots of coffee shops around the area so did not try the coffee there, got a healthy juice instead which was great with the breakfast. Bakery looks great also.

A choice of truly delicious gluten-free pastry which is not a chocolate brownie or a shortbreads. Worth taking a look, but read the label carefully make sure you talking with the personal who knows what contains gluten and what’s not.

Delicious food in general. Unfortunately, attention to detail is missing. The service is a bit chaotic and uncoordinated. I also wasn't impressed that although I ordered the salt beef on rye bread I got it on white bread. When I flagged this with the waiter he insisted it was rye bread. It clearly wasn't (see picture) but I didn't want to pick a fight over this. Roni's, you can do better...

A wonderful selection of pastries, bagels, and premade bites! The beet salad is divine and incredibly refreshing. A great little gem.

Accommodating staff, able to allow for larger groups. Unusual layout to the store, felt quite busy despite not having many people there at the time. Breakfast was enjoyable albeit served on an unnecessarily large plate. Would recommend to those in the area as not many other similar places (Gail's doesn't have the range of food and others lack seating space).

Food ok. Humus ok. Not the best I had. But you order a humus. They give you a small peace of pita. And when I ask for more pita. You can't eat humus with out it. They say. 1.75 for more pita. Crazy. Greedy. Never again. I will not recommended that place

Great breakfast/brunch bakery & patisserie restaurant. Excellent menu, coffee and bakery products. Good service and reasonable prices. Somewhat cramped inside, but that's all part of the charm of Hampstead life.

We've used Hampstead Roni on & off for years. But last week we purchased some humus, it has gone off. Fridge issue? Today I wanted a drink and get some biscuits. But I went to the bathroom first. A shock. The stairs are filthy, the bathroom very badly kept, dirty, even the door itself. As I waited my turn for the bathroom, the sight of the kitchen was awful, disorganised and disgusting. Food debris and waste everywhere. Old aluminium foil badly lining cooking stations. One person refilling some half empty mayo bottles, pushing the mayo in with ungloved fingers. Some dropped on the floor and was not tidied up. Health & safety? I will absolutely not go there again. The Swains lane branch is sharp front of house, but I have not seen it's kitchen! Does not even deserve 1 star.

We had not been to Roni's in over a year and had forgotten how good the food was. Besides the delicious food the service was also excellent. I am so pleased we went back again and look forward to our next visit. John I

I only had a drink there, so can't really comment on the food. I drank a Chai latte, which was quite good. However, I was pretty disappointed with the attitude of some of the staff. The male waiter who served me was particularly rude and unfriendly. Also, children screaming in nearby tables doesn't fit my concept of a pleasant cafe environment (although considering the neighbourhood where Roni's is located, it was to be expected). Not sure I'll return...

A new addition to the walk up to Hampstead caught our eye, so fellow yelper Vickie and I popped in for work lunch. An interesting and quite diverse menu spans the tastes of mini burgers, all-day breakfasts, pastas and yes, baked goods. I went with a Mediterranean breakfast which kind of reminds me of how I behave when I eat breakfast on holidays in hotels, a bit of this, bit of that, but it all worked together- Eggs, tuna, tahini, salad, slices of cheddar, brie, bread, it's a mini buffet for one. Our nearby diners had the salmon breakfast platter which looked amazing and gave us a bit of food envy. There's something for any time of day, and a couple of outside seats so you can watch the traffic and dogs go by, a great cafe and good value for money!

Nice premises, really friendly staff, and OMG their shakshuka. Their shakshuka is sooooooo good. So good that while I've breakfasted there a bunch of times I can't review any of their other food, cause man the shakshuka is all you need. Also really great coffee there.

Food - the croissants are surprisingly crusty on the outside, doughy and soft in the inside. Cappuccino was light in flavor but foam was good. Service - very very friendly and fast

One of few options for breakfast/brunch in the area but sadly we were quite disappointed and won't be back. We order the royale and florentine Benedicts - the bread (both brioche and bagel) was dry and tasteless and the eggs were a bit watery. The lady who served us was quite strange and unfriendly and the staff kept propping the door open to serve the outside table on a day it was just about 0 degrees! Fine if you're brave enough to sit outside but we chose to sit inside hoping for some warmth!
