I came with my girlfriend today and spent several hours enjoying the cozy atmosphere and the soothing background music of this restaurant. Everything was perfect — until suddenly the loud recitation of the Quran started playing, completely ruining the vibe for us.
In recent months, credible reports indicate that over 36,000 people have been killed in Iran during the brutal suppression of protests. In my opinion, if someone wants to listen to the Quran, they should do so at home or in a private setting — not in a public restaurant or café where people of different beliefs and expectations come to relax and enjoy a meal.
The experience was so disturbing for me that I will never return here. I feel that the money I spend in places like this may indirectly contribute to a system responsible for the killing of my fellow Iranians.
Suggestion to the management: To maintain a neutral and welcoming environment for all customers, please refrain from playing religious audio (from any faith) at audible levels in public areas, or at least keep it very low and optional. Customers who wish to listen can use their own headphones. Also, employing staff from diverse or non-religious backgrounds could help create a more inclusive space.
