The best German restaurants in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"While Eastern European dishes such as ajarski khachapuri, a boat of cheese-filled bread from Georgia that takes two hours to create, make up a bulk of the dishes here, shoppers can find cheeses, deli meats, olives, and other ingredients that span from Germany to the former Soviet Union. Be careful with this store. You pay for your items and when you get home, you have missing items in your bag. The cashier handed the bag to me and I trusted my items were inside. This happened to me twice and when I called the manager, she raised her voice at me blaming me. These people have no class, no manners, they don’t even make eye contact when you talk to them. They chat with their coworkers while scanning your items and have their back on you. Limited brains with snub attitudes. Get help

My grandparents came to the US from Poland in the 1920s. Visiting Ron's Market Eastern European Meat & Deli reminded me of my trips to a Chicago market just like this one back in the 1960s. I loved the exotic offerings then and appreciate them even more now. Shopping in this market was a trip down memory lane. The narrow aisles bursting with offerings in languages I can't read. The tempting wide variety of exotic cheeses. So many varieties of olives. And the chops. It reminded me of our trips to the Chicago Stockyards, may they rest in peace. My grandmother has been gone 50 years, so many of the offerings in the market are now foreign to me. I can tell there are traditional Russian sweets. I am going to buy the jelly just to take home the Kachina-like doll they reside in. The family that owns the store makes fresh bread, dips, kabobs and ethnic dishes that I am clueless about. But the crowd at the store knew exactly what they wanted. So what do you put hawthorn in, exactly? There are tables outside so you can tuck in if you can't wait until you get home. I think it's fun that the owners put up enticing photos of their exotic offerings on the windows outside the store. How could you not be curious? The Las Vegas Strip creates the illusion of being somewhere else. Ron's does the same. Mange!

Google
Nice local market . They sell a lot of organic produce. They have a variety of fresh meat available I shop here often . They do deliver. Food is absolutely delicious and large portions. Yes it does take about 30 minutes till you get your food but than again you gotta remember that this is not a fast food joint.

Google
Don't know much about Eastern European food but this good size (few thousand square foot) store appears to have lots of groceries and staples from that region, maybe even including middle eastern as well. Meat, cheese, veggies, canned goods, spices etc. Good neighborhood store.

Update review 1/7/18- after my last review 4 months ago. I decided to give it another try. Yes the food does take a while but the food comes out fresh and delicious. Since I couldn’t help the last of this place. My boyfriend and I come here probably twice or once a week. ____________________________________________ So food is amazing since it is made fresh.. But it takes forever! Yes this is my third time here with my boyfriend and we waited forever for our food the second time yet we came back the third time because it is really good but this time we actually timed it and it took about 30 minutes for our food. I say call ahead and wait 30 mins to pick it up or eat it there.

Google
This is a great grocery store that had exotic options like jams, teas, treats, cheeses, and drinks from Armenia, Greece, and Russia, to have a few. They have a great meat selection with lamb. They have fresh produce as well, and a selection of interesting ingredients including pomegranate, rosehips, and dates. This is a place you can easily spend 20 minutes in without realizing it just by looking at everything.

Google
Massive score at Ron's Market!!! Everything Russian you could ever want in this 1 store. Even got to practice some of my Russian with the very sweet staff. We got some CCCP ice cream, chocolate bars, chocolates, dried fruits, fresh Kiev salami, homemade baklava, tea, sugar lollies, and the green kind of crab apples. My husband is so happy and loved getting to reminisce about his childhood in Russia. One day soon we will be approved to travel there and I can't wait to see the beauty that country has to offer. Till then Ron's will be our 1 stop shop forever. Ura!!!

Plan to go back soon. 1.26.24: Filled my spice shelf to make some yummy Mediterranean dishes. Great selection of phyllo and the deli case is wonderful.

Yelp
Love this market and great customer service they have a great deli there and meat section

Yelp
Love this place although it's a bit on the pricey side compared to other markets. But considering shipping and quality it makes sense! I especially like the baked goods, cheese and cold cuts, along with delicious snacks If you want a piece of eastern comfort food try this place! Been going here for 10+ years

Cosmin I.

Yelp
I come here every week, because the food is unbelievable, but most of all, i come here for Ashot, he has amazing customer service and he always tells me what is fresh, why i love Ashot, is that i am disabled, i have a speech impediment and Ashot is one of the only few people in Las Vegas who takes time to listen to me and every now and then to tell me a joke or two. He is a amazing guy and lets say the world is a better place because of him. Thank you for everything Ashot, you rock!!

Yelp
This is a great Mediterranean type neighborhood market. Very good selection of meats for grilling and slow cooking. We always stock our pantry with the canned goods. Also they carry a decent amount of fresh fruits and vegetables and some nice seasonal selections. As well as my favorite feta cheese! Unfortunately I only speak English so occasionally I have a difficult time finding things and I get uncomfortable when I have to ask for help. It's a busy little market.

Yelp
Decided to stop in here today for lunch. It is such a cute place. The man at the deli counter was so sweet. He let us try a lot of different things.
google avatar

Geri M.

Yelp
Everyone that worked there was extremely rude. The store appeared dirty and unorganized. The food wasn't good and it was overpriced. If you're American, you can be expected to be treated poorly. Nobody smiled, nobody gave you the time of day or even responded to a simple "hi, how are you". Unless you consider a glare or scowl as a response. 10000% will not be coming back and I'm sure they are happy about it.

Yelp
Place treats you like family. Best babaganoush in town!! Everything in their market is fresh and delicious

Yelp
Great service, but not much choice of foods. They to add more choice of food Thank you

Yelp
Amazing selection!!!! Loved the food and snack options that reminded me of home. Highly recommend!

Yelp
If you are from Europe and miss some of your regular items that's the store for you. They even have Türkisch and German products. The prices are very fair; for the fact that it is a smaller store and the costs to import. Super friendly staff! Which they would have a store closer to my house!!

Brenda S.

Yelp
Discrimination at this store if you're American. I stood in line behind a man who paid with his card. When I went to pay with my card the lady says "cash only" with a smirk on her face. I said "why? Because I'm American!?" She gave me a bigger smirk then a smile and shrugged her shoulders as if saying yep, too bad. I've shopped here prior to this and they followed me and my daughter around the store like we were stealing. Onto the produce and meat...the coolers are NOT COOLED. Produce is wilted in plastic containers. Meat looks old. Although, I have bought items here in past, with my card, I was treated like as though I shouldn't be there and like a thief. Good luck at this market if you're American/white or anything other than Eastern European.

Ruzanna D.

Yelp
You can find everything what you need not only for your grocery needs, but also fresh fruits, tomatoes and cucumbers, I love their pistachios and fresh green walnuts!

Jennifer C.

Yelp
I'd give it five stars, but one of the women at the cheese/deli counter is always quite rude. The guys at the butcher counter are always super sweet though. I used to go there mainly for their lamb, feta and baklava, as well as whatever they had baked that day. The price of lamb is insane now, and since I have to normally deal with the rude woman at the cheese counter to get the feta, I haven't been by in a few months. It's definitely and interesting place to check out though. They have tons of things you can't find in a regular grocery store.

Yelp
Large store with lots of items. I compare them to Max Market on Sahara, I wouldn't be surprised if it would be the same owners as set up is completely the same. Also here no dogs allowed so I had to rush and when I saw the line at check out I just decided to leave and buy nothing as my little dog was waiting in the car. I won't be back here just for that reason, there's plenty of other European markets for me to buy groceries.

Yelp
We wanted to do some lunch today. Needed something that was close and quick and had a ton of protein. Enter Ron's market. It was actually really good. When compared to some of the other places that are close to it, this place is a a wonderful market and restaurant. I had the chicken kabob plate. It came with moist and juicy large chicken medallions and an ample amount of rice. The grilled tomato was huge and the pepper had some pop to it. The best part was that delivery was a dollar or two at the most. The dish was only 9$. It was a steal and cooked perfectly. My colleague got the Ron's burger with sweet potato fries. Excellent. The delivery was quick and the food was hot and the order was perfect.

Yelp
i just moved to vegas from socal a few month ago. bought house in nortwest part of town. the closest russian deli is ron's market. It is about 17 miles, but i went to check what is going on... besides staff not being very friendly, they have almost identical items we had in socal, but slightly cheaper. also, deli selection doesnt look too fresh, but it was sunday night:)

Yelp
Very good European pastries and jarred items. I only gave four stars because some of the prices were high.
google avatar

Maria D.

Yelp
Went to this market to see all the products.. I will say the pita bread was the best I have had in this city. The Labne I bought was spoiled when I opened the container and the date was not expired. The meat did not look appealing at all..I won't go back. I have another place I go to that I have been happy with..
google avatar

Yelp
Always had a great experience here. Way too many Karens with their reviews. I say, see for yourself. People have too much time on their hands and complain about everything that doesn't fit "their agenda."

Valentyna K.

Yelp
Great variety of produce, everything is fresh and delicious. Recommend to everyone who is missing particular food items from their home country or just crave to try good quality Eastern European food.

Yelp
I went in for the first time on 1/29/21 right before noon to explore the store and buy lamb. I was hesitant to write this but don't want anyone getting sick. As the butcher was cutting meat, a glove on his one hand holding the meat and gloveless on his hand with the knife, he proceeded to cough excessively into his hand then gather the built up phlegm and spit on the floor. He immediately continued cutting. I was repulsed and quickly exited the store.

Yelp
Outstanding food and warm friendly customer service. So happy I stumbled on this place. I ordered the beef kabob plate ($9.99). It was scrumptious! The rice was well cooked and almost buttery, which nicely complemented the grilled veggies and spiced meats. The combination of flavors is one that makes it difficult to not shove it all in your face! Seating is limited. You may not want to come here if you aren't okay with eating in your car... because this food is difficult to not eat immediately. They have an extensive selection of European food products. I'm so excited to have found this gem. The breads, sweets, spices, cheeses, even some of the fruit and veggies here can't be found at your local Smiths/Albertsons. Definitely will be back!

Charles E.

Yelp
Their puff pastry, Armenian pizza and feta are amazing, I got a couple of Dolmas and they seemed off to me, it may just have been unfamiliar spices, but that's the only reason they didn't get 5 stars
google avatar

Maggie M.

Yelp
Best place ever to get quality meats and Russian hats and exotic wines and liquors. The customer service is fantastic. They take their time to answer all your questions and give you what you want. Their prices are great for the quality you get. Their cheeses are amazing in quality and flavor. The facility is very clean and gives you comfort in buying meats from a super clean location. They serve lunch/dinner also and have a small eating section but is perfect for the location. I highly recommend buying to go also. It's awesome to be able to locally buy matryoshka without having to travel to Russia but it also gives you the bug to travel and be properly head covered if you go when chilly or cold. So enjoy shopping at this location for your meats and cheeses and your nostalgic items across Eastern Europe.

Paul L.

Yelp
Friendly people and wide assortment of products. Plus the prices are reasonable for the value!

Yelp
What a great find for my Eastern European food goodies! The store is very clean and the gentleman at the deli/meat counter is very helpful and knowledgeable. The cashier and workers are friendly too, but I think you just have to say hi first. Once they get to know you, they are so warm and helpful. I love the herring salad (aka herring-in-fur-coat salad) at the deli. It is a layered salad that has smoked herring on the bottom, shredded beets, shredded carrots, potato salad, diced eggs, and topped with a sprig of fresh dill. The gentleman informed me it is a traditional Russian salad that is usually served during New Year's Eve and served with vodka and beer. Luckily I don't have to wait until New Year's Eve for this yummy dish! The blinis are very tasty too. There is one that has a sweet cheese filling with is great cold or warmed up. The meat filled one is delicious. The ground meat filling is well seasoned. Not too salty or heavy on garlic. He advised me to warm it up on the pan and eat it with some sour cream and a sprinkle of pepper. I took his advice and loved it! The baba ganush and eggplant dip are good choices to keep in the fridge for snacking or a side dish too. They also have a to-go lunch area. You can order kabob and rice dishes and gyros while you do your shopping. That way you have food ready by the time you finish your grocery shopping. Yay! They also have a good dairy selection of kefir drinks. Kefir is a type of yogurt like drink has probiotics before it was a health buzz word. Try the baked kefir if you find regular kefir too tart. It's creamy, super thick, and very filling. The baked version of kefir is called Ryazhenka-my favorite. They also have European brand bologna that I really enjoy and cannot find elsewhere since the other similar market is going under repairs. Their bakery section has a good selection of tiramisu and honey cake sold by weight. So you can get a big or small slice if you want. Lavash bread, rye bread, sweet breads, and cookies are available too. If you like pierogis, they have a freezer you can scoop out how much you want-which is also sold by weight. There is also an isle full of giftable chocolates. Be a good guest and grab one when you visit your friend or family. They will like it and you get to have some chocolate while you're visiting. Wink wink. All in all, I travel across town to get to these yummy delights. I can count on this place to stock up on these hard to find items and I found be the quality to be worth the drive. The prices are very reasonable and I am all for supporting local businesses. Give this place a try! You may find new favorites to add to your grocery staple!

Yelp
I had ordered take out from the restaurant 2 weeks ago for the first time and was so pleased! Everything was Delicious!!. Went today to go to the market , first time and fell in love. This little market has so much wonderful personality . My children and I enjoyed pic king out produce like giant ripe tomatoes and baby eggplant. The man behind the meat counter was such a gem, he had the passion and love for what he does. I ordered meat based on his suggestions and cant wait to cook dinner with my beautiful produce and marinated kabob meat!
google avatar

Stefany V.

Yelp
I've been to almost every independent or "ethnic" grocery in town, and this one is by far one of the cleanest. I like their lamb specials in the butcher area, and can appreciate that they offer six different brands of canned garbanzo beans. But I wouldn't drive out of my way to come here over another market. Staff were present but did not offer any help. Register has a tip jar for cashiers, which I find tacky. Look for the half-off clearance cart by the front door. Most cans are labeled with stickers, which assures me that they don't jack the prices up and down frequently. Minimal produce area. Both fresh and frozen(?) caviar available, red and black at the deli counter.

Nikos F.

Yelp
Never again. They have a sign at the door saying that customers need to wear a mask but none of the employees wear their mask the right way. Except one lady at the register who wears the mask over her nose, all the other employees have their nose exposed. When i told them that they need to wear the mask the right way they laughed at me. A week later I tried that place again. Not only none of the employees were wearing their mask the right way, a customer was not wearing a mask at all and he was ordering his products from the cold cuts section with no one asking him to wear a mask! I left immediately that place and i will never go there again. I can find my products elsewhere. No need to risk my life.

Yelp
I adore this place. I've been in a couple times and have never had a problem. The place looks Awesome. The staff is very friendly especially the meat department staff. I will be coming back soon they had everything i needed especially during the difficult beginning times of COVID shopping as well.
google avatar

Johnny C.

Yelp
Found this place on restaurant.com and decided to try it. We ordered tons of food, but it seemed strange to me since half the place is a market and the other half had a seating area to eat. Then I realize most places are like that duh! Our favorite was the chicken shawarma as the flavoring was just perfect. Everything else was just ok. Going forward I would just drive a block down and stick with stephanoes for everything else. Check out the added pictures. Did I mentioned the chicken shawarma, it's amazing. You'll be happy if that's all you ordered.

B R.

Yelp
Bought pork shoulder it went bad after 2 days.it wasn't even open. Also be careful when you are buying food that is weighted, one price is displayed and another price is charged
google avatar

Adrienne D.

Yelp
The have great food for a great value!!! The chicken lula is delicious. If you don't want the plate, you can get it by itself for a very great deal. We usually order 2 or 3 pounds of chicken lula cooked and it lasts for a few days. Each pound has 4 big pieces of chicken lula.

Sam G.

Yelp
I ordered kabob catering with rice and salad. I asked for the Armenian salad, they gave me tomatoes, cucumbers and onions. They said the rice was 10pounds, but it looked like it was half. On top of all this the beef was burnt and they delivered the food all cold! Very disappointing and embarrassing for my us and my family and friends. Won't order from here ever again.

Yelp
I've been looking for a solid Arabic food store in Las Vegas (ideally on the west side) for a hot minute now, and I was excited to check this place out. I was referred to Ron's by a friend of mine, who also happens to be Arab-American, so I had high hopes. They had a decent assortment of meats and cheeses and their selection of spices was pretty good. I found most of the things I was looking for and the people were nice. Being from Michigan, where there are entire sections of town filled with Arabic food stores, I wasn't overly impressed with this one. But...considering there are few choices, I'm sure I'll be back here. I saw they have a restaurant as well, so next time I'll order some food and try it out.
google avatar

Marina P.

Yelp
I am so glad that I finally decided to check this store out. I had heard about it, but out of force of habit continued to shop at another store that I was incredibly unhappy with over the last 3 years. This store is filled with fresh staples for Eastern European and Middle Eastern clientele. Their service is phenomenal at the deli counter, the rest of the staff are helpful and kind. Prices are very reasonable. I will only shop there and will check out their restaurant soon. Living in Las Vegas just got a lot more convenient because of Ron's!

Anna E.

Yelp
Very nice clean market that has so many yummy foods! Their homemade salads such as eggplant/veggie and beef burgers are great. Wonderful selection of cheeses, salami and chocolates. Reasonable prices, service is welcoming and friendly. They have extensive selection of teas, wine and cakes. I was looking for a place that has Russian dishes such as borscht, so glad to find this store.
google avatar

Melanie S.

Yelp
Stopped by Ron's today to try it for the first time after reading all the great reviews and it did not disappoint at all!! The food is very good! The seating area is kinda small but I took mine to go anyway. Fresh food and great flavors. Small market attached with a wonderful variety to choose from. Prices are very reasonable as well. I recommend, this is a must try!!
google avatar

Meli G.

Yelp
This is our go to place for Mediterranean food. My favorite food is there steak kabobs with rice & hummus with a fresh pita bread. Just yuummmmmyyyyy!! It's so good & a great value for what you get. I usually save a portion of it for lunch the next day. They are always friendly when you pick up an order or have it delivered. We have yet to find another Mediterranean food place we like. Everything else is a disappointment in comparison.
google avatar

Fatima D.

Yelp
Excellent customer service great market I go there all the time has most of the middle Eastern items I need
google avatar

Kristine Y.

Yelp
This place is a solid gem. Their little restaurant and their butcher shop has great cuts of meat. From their restaurant their gyros and lula kabobs are solid. Their butchery has marinated ready to grill meats. You can ask them to grill it for you or you can take it home and make it yourself. I don't know how they marinate their lamb but all the cuts are tender and not gamey at all. Also their prices are affordable. A lot cheaper than Stephanos which is right across the street.
google avatar

Angela Z.

Yelp
Wonderful shopping experience with a lot of variety in cheeses, sausages, fresh olives, and breads. Excellent customer service and great parking lot. Very clean store and good prices.
google avatar

Nadia L.

Yelp
I go here for one item only, rose water. They always have it in sock when many other stores do not. It's a small market but they have a nice selection. The cashier is always pleasant and the place is clean. Maybe on my next visit I'll try the baklava!
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Beware food poisoning - Wife picked up some sort of 'ham' - soft, sliceable mystery meat among some other items we've since thrown out. Only thing we both ate was the 'meat'. Ended up having a nightmare 3 days of food poisoning - if you've never experienced it, your body forces everything out of your gastrointestinal system any way it can. Wish we could trust the 'little guy' but not when we get deathly ill and can't work..
google avatar

Ashley W.

Yelp
This place was recommended to me by a friend who is a butcher. My family came here to dine and it was absolutely delicious. We had the Armenian Salad, Hummus with Pita, Steak and Chicken Kabob, Chicken Lula Plate, and Hamburger with Sweet Potato Fries. It totaled around $40 and we had plenty to take back for leftovers. The food was delicious and the staff were accommodating and friendly. I noticed when we were waiting for our meal people were steadily coming in and out (that should tell you something...) If you are looking for a place to get a great selection of meats and pickled stuff this is it!

Yelp
Even the best ifbb world champion buys his food from Rons market !!!!!!!!! Most fresh market in las vegas !!!!!
google avatar

Yulya F.

Yelp
I can say it's one of my favorite European market. Always big choice of food. Also I just ordered delivery food like meat plate. It was so tasty. Meat was like really from people from mountains. It was grilled and smoked. I ordered extra fish and it's also was amazing. Love this store !!!! Highly recommend food from cafe.
google avatar

Reem J.

Yelp
If you want to be overcharged for mediocre food and disrespected as a customer, then go to rons.
google avatar

Yelp
Great little find Tucked away Armenian like food Like canned and fresh deli and pita breads Check it out So yummy

Yelp
Yay! Another Eastern European market, but now closer and more convenient for me! If you've been to Jones Market in Chinatown, this is basically the same, except these workers here are way nicer! We got some Moscow ham and the lady asked us how thick we wanted the slices. After we told her thin, she did one slice and showed us and asked if it was ok. Not only that, instead of packing the meat in a plastic bag as most places do, she put it on a foam tray and wrapped it for us, even though we just got a measly half pound. They also have a nice assortment of olives. :) There's also cheeses, sausages, caviar, even marinated meats and kabobs. There is a small produce section, and a lot of canned and jarred items from various countries. I was glad to find labne here. Not so hard to find in CA but didn't find any in Vegas. Also they have Dadu ice cream! I usually don't eat sweets, so I love these, not too sweet like American ice cream. A few things are more pricey than Jones, like the pickled turnips, but overall prices here are very good. It's right around the corner from Wet N Wild, so we'll be stopping by after visiting there every time now!
