Google
Bar on rooftop of Cat Bird hotel. Felt very much like hostel vibes when we were there (not a good or bad thing). Drink menu was ok not super extensive. But nice to be outside on rooftop with decent views !

Had an amazing time the first week or two they were open. Love the vibe and cocktail menu especially. Great for a group or a fun date night. Will definitely come back!

Went here with a group of 7 last weekend and had an awesome time! The spacious confines of the Rook comprise an indoor area and an outdoor area with a bar that spans between them, which makes getting drinks quick and convenient. The outdoor space has three pool tables (!) as well as a large grassy (real grass) area with comfy chairs and a hammock. It also boats large gas fire pits set in alcoves that are perfect for groups of any size. There were several other large groups of 7+ and it never felt crowded, rather like we were having our own little backyard party while others nearby were doing the same. Sunset was beautiful. The indoor space is tastefully decorated and feels very cozy, especially toward the back away from the bustle of the bar, perfect refuge during afternoon summer drizzles. There are tons of board games available, which are very popular indoors or out. The dazzling rooftop is matched by a brilliant bar menu, which has something for everyone, but leans light and refreshing -- ideal for warm spring and summer evenings on a rooftop! Pitchers of John Daly (alcoholic Arnold Palmer), hard lemonade, and beer are convenient options for groups. The cocktail menu is remarkably creative and delicious (Born Under Punches was my favorite cocktail of the evening; Into the Bucket, which is a sort of pickle brine marg, was also tasty and fun, a pleasant and novel surprise on the palate). Overall, we had a great time and I'll definitely be back!

Google
Beautiful bar, great concept, definitely some kinks to work out. Let me start off by saying the space is beautiful, and the hot dog is one of the best around. The cocktails we had were good, but outside of that the bartenders seemed...green. The outdoor space is large, and has pool tables which is great, but it sucks that they allow pets in the space because with pets, comes their waste. We wanted to enjoy the outdoor seating but quickly noticed a poop smell and many unkept droppings around. During our time here we witnessed someone step in said waste and it really took away from the otherwise wonderful atmosphere. Also love that they want to maintain a vintage vibe with old games, but it was disappointing to open games that were unplayable due to missing/broken pieces. We look forward to seeing this place work out their opening kinks and find their groove. We'll be back. :)

Google
Great new bar. First time in Denver and had a wonderful time with the blonde bartender and I believe the bar manager (brown hair and a beard). Definitely recommend! Drinks are to die for! I was here on Saturday late afternoon around 3:30-4 PM

Google
A great bar with great bartenders! The patio is amazing and the food was delicious! Highly recommend

Google
Fun atmosphere with affordable drinks and great game selection! Excellent specials every day of the week! Bar snacks but not full meals- walking tacos, chicken nuggets, grilled cheese Go through the Catbird lobby and follow the Rook signs up the elevator to the roof to get there!

Yelp
This intimate social clubhouse and rooftop bar makes cocktails, games, and snacks feel fresh, fun, and totally unpretentious. From the playful decor to the creative drinks, Rook doesn't take itself too seriously and that's exactly why you'll love it. They just opened on May 21st, so if you're looking for a new hangout to close out your Memorial Day weekend, or honestly any weekend (or weekday), this is it. what we tried: Frozen Espresso Martini with whipped coffee topper Electric Avenue: Mount Gay Rum, banana, pineapple, bitters, spices, lime Born Under Punches: white wine, Tanqueray, cantaloupe, cucumber, lime, soda Take On Me: Dickel Rye, brandy, shrub, pineapple, honey, mint Athletic Brewing 'Upside Dawn' (N/A golden ale) Rook Dog with mustard & relish Grilled Cheese Walking Taco best bites & sips: I have officially declared frozen espresso martinis the drink of the summer, s lol thank you, Rook. The Born Under Punches cocktail also blew me away. Cantaloupe is such an underrated flavor and it shines here. You can never go wrong with grilled cheese, but the Walking Taco stole the show for me. Honestly, every place should serve one. Make some time to swing by this weekend since they've got special holiday hours and all the good vibes. I'll see you there!

Yelp
Revamped rooftop area of the catbird hotel is a winner for sure! Unique decor inspired by vintage Colorado artifacts, this is the perfect spot to sip on a frozen cocktail inside or out. They have pool and board games, as well as small bites like grilled cheese and walking tacos. Fun spot for a date or girls night!

Yelp
Great location but it was dead on a Friday night. They were having a comedy event on a portion of the rooftop lounge which was fun! The drinks were awesome but there was only one bartender so it did take awhile to get drinks.

Yelp
Found this hidden little gem inside & on the rooftop of Catbird Hotel called The Red Barber. The vibes are chill and relaxing. On Sundays they started a brunch from 12-2pm. The DJ is spinning great House to put everyone in a trance with chill vibes almost feels very Vegas pool day energy. The bartender was very friendly, fast and efficient. My crew loved this place. All the food coming out looked fantastic. The next warm/hot Sunday we will definitely be back.

Yelp
If you want a bar with a view, this is it. If you want a bar that has a lot of wait staff, this isn't it. Our bartender was super friendly but seemed to be the only staff member on hand. We went to the bar to retrieve our own drinks and food. We did appreciate him bringing us a birthday shot and his apologies for being short staffed. Great views of the city from this rooftop bar. Zodiac drinks were flavorful. Watch out! The Cancer is spicy.

Yelp
This is an awesome place for a night out in Denver. It's on the 6th floor of a hotel and takes up the whole rooftop. The majority is outside but there's enough indoor space if that's your preference. The layout is very fun with grass, plants, sculptures, bags, jenga, and private & group seating. They even have a couple hot tubs up there which are available during certain hours. The view is excellent as you can see virtually 360 degrees. It was a casual feel and wasn't crowded at all. There's a unique selection of mixed drinks which were all made very well. This seems like one of those hidden gems in a city.

Yelp
Visited around 7pm on a Tuesday night and nearly had the place to ourselves (inside). The patio looked really cool, but there was an outdoor odor (Purina factory?) that kept us in the furthest corner from the open patio doors. The drinks: I ordered the Froze, and my husband ordered some tropical frozen cocktail. I really enjoyed my drink; the flavors were robust and balanced between sweet and tangy. My husband didn't love his choice, it was too sugary. The staff: meh. Not rude, but didn't seem to like their job or customers too much either. The ambiance: interesting, detailed, has a view, and worth coming back for! The extras: I loved that they had games to play (we opted for the Oregon Trail card game and died immediately), and I also appreciated the retro, pink tiled bathroom.

Yelp
We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was great! They just opened when we had arrived so it was not crowded which we loved. The rooftop bar was very enjoyable with a great view. They has games for you to play and water stations available inside and outside which was very much needed since it was so hot. Their drink selection was limited but creative. The drinks were created based on horoscope signs and were premade so it did not take long to get them. They do have both indoor and outdoor seating if you decided you want to enjoy the Sun or stay cool. Staff was friendly.

Yelp
For being at the top of a random hotel, we actually end up on this rooftop patio eating and drinking quite a bit. There's a gorgeous view, the foods a little expensive but always quality, and the cocktails are on the nicer end of the spectrum. There's definitely been times where it feels like they're understaffed for how busy it gets, but even then the staff is always great.

Yelp
Arrived promptly at 2pm - stated opening time. Seems they weren't ready to be open, still finishing up tasks and not wanting to engage with any guests. We sat for a few minutes at a table before going to order at the bar. We were met with an incredibly rude off putting attitude of the bartender. Why start off the day so angry? And why take it out on customers? Our espresso martini was laughable at best. The only saving grace is the froze was really good and had a nice consistency and flavor. Ultimately between the bad attitude, no music, and our table area smelling like sewage, we hightailed it out of there. Won't return.

Yelp
I came here as part of a private party. We rented the whole space which was lovely! I couldn't stop drinking the Cancer cocktail - it was sooo good! We had small bites and I especially loved the pesto chicken panini and the charcuterie board! The cucumber salad was also worth mention (everything bagel seasoning!) I would love to come back with a smaller party sometime for dinner and drinks.

Yelp
Some girlfriends and I were psyched to come by for Thursday evening drinks and some food. I want to preface this with it seems like the spot just opened, which means brand new staff, trying out new computer systems, and working out the other kinks. I'm hopeful that in a few months this place will be running smoothly. What we liked: we loved the views and that the rooftop had a decent amount of seating, fire pits, and space in general. The staff were also super friendly and were really trying. There was a decent selection of cocktails and different types of food for - something for everyone. Things that could be improved: The ordering system was our main problem. We couldn't order food/drinks and after trying to order a second time we just went to the bar. I was able to get a drink, but the rest of our party were told to order from the table, but since the ordering system wasn't working, that wasn't possible. After waiting a bit, we walked over to front of house staff to place the order on the main computer. Some of us had double charges on our cards or incorrect charges, but we were told it would cancel out since it was pending, but some were double charged. We also had to send back the fondue because it was too watery too eat and some of the small plates felt a little pricy for what the items were. It would also be awesome to have more tables/places to set food by the couches to make it easier to eat and drink. I'm definitely going to come back again in a few weeks to see if the issues are worked out because I genuinely believe it has some awesome potential. I also want to reiterate that the staff were trying really hard and were very thoughtful. I'm sure I will be updating this review to a higher number soon.

Yelp
I don't know what's up with these bad reviews. The place is amazing! You mainly get great downtown views and little of the mountains. The rooftop is huge with ample seating options. Lot of greenery and cool furniture. The staff was really nice and drinks were great! Though some areas don't have coverage so on sunny days, bring a hat! I'll be coming here in the summer!!
google avatar

Robert M.

Yelp
I would give five star, the ambience is great, the bartender was great. However, we ordered the charcuterie board, for $28, and that's what we received. Be advised.

Yelp
I will be bringing all of my friends here for the rest of time. HUGE rooftop bar with awesome drinks and great service. Lord of different options for seating and great views

Yelp
I've been wanting to come to this place for a while and the warm sunshine of today gave me the perfect excuse to check it out! I came with a couple friends right when they opened, we were they're first guests and the bartenders were incredibly rude and unwilling to answer our simple questions like what white claw flavors they have... I was told that it was a mixed pack and I would get "whatever flavor they pick first". My friends ordered espresso martinis and their drinks honestly looked like soapy dirt water... totally unsatisfied with the drinks and service at this place. They have a ton of space so there's definitely room to spread out and hang out if it's ever busy and the froze's were decent, but if you're looking for a nice rooftop bar with great drinks and great service then look elsewhere.

Yelp
Most amazing experience! We decided to throw our engagement party here and they were nothing but helpful and thoughtful every step of the way. Very flexible too. They set up signs for us and our guests and sectioned off a huge area for us inside. We also had full access to the bar and the rooftop games as well. Heaters outside with hammocks and games for all ages. Even sculptures made out of stacked chairs! The decorations were absolutely breathtaking and they allowed us to add our own decorations, games, and more. The food was unbelievable. Vegetarians and meat eaters alike had all their favorites available to them. My personal favorite was the cauliflower. Nessa took care of us when we arrived and was willing to jump in and make things perfect. Our pictures came out great, and our friends and family were comfortable and excited. We even got to dress up which fit the atmosphere really well. I'll definitely be going back and telling everyone I know to check it out.

Yelp
Spent $75 on your Eve for supposed to be a disco night, and unlimited food. Very small by appetizers and not unlimited unless you count more than three cheese squares. Also there was no disco dance floor or even disco music playing, overall it was really lame and I wish I'd not spent my money to go there.

Yelp
Came here for some birthday drinks. The rooftop is really lovely with a lot of cozy seating, fire pits, and great views. The staff were all warm and inviting- not always expected at a hip new place in RiNo. Ordering is made super simple online and everything is brought to your table promptly. The grill master is cooking up yummy bites- the halloumi and tomatoes were a nice snack and were the stuffed piquillo peppers on toast. They have a nice selection of spirits, beer and wine. Overall- a very pleasant visit!

Yelp
so we came here on a whim because we were nearby and thought we'd stop in. The place itself is cute but man was service absolutely terrible. it was not busy at all and there were about four people behind the bar. One was cleaning and just blatantly ignoring us, one was tallying up bills and I don't know what the other two were doing but it was nowhere near closing time . It is fine if you're busy but doesn't hurt to say "I'll be with you in a minute". We proceeded to be ignored for a good while and even asked the guy next to us if he had ordered/gotten his drink yet . Finally my friend had to ask if we could order from them. We had to ask for their service which drives me bananas because people in the service industry expect tips which we do/still did, but don't provide the service which is wild. I really don't understand what the issue was but service was terrible. Would not come back.

Yelp
Really enjoyed my afternoon here. Had the frosé, which was really refreshing! The area is very big, lots of different spaces to hang, play games, sit by the fire pits. There's still some construction going on - putting in hottubs (might only be available to hotel guests?). I was here on a hot summer Saturday, and was surprised at how empty the place was. I could def see it bopping if there was some live music (def enough space) and more of a crowd. Will come back, hopefully others will too!
google avatar

Kavita K.

Yelp
Wow super underwhelming. Came here for all the hype about skyline views but the skyline is a zillion miles away. Seemed to be just hotel guests lounging around. Definitely not a "must" do/visit.
google avatar

Jim Z.

Yelp
Damon and Travis are rock star bartenders! Great drinks! Keep ''em coming! Place has incredible views and games to play! Super chill.
google avatar

Yelp
Live music, super friendly staff, and very clean and fun environment . Celebrated my 21st here, would do it again
google avatar

Lochan S.

Yelp
This place really tried. It's a little bit of a walk from the main river north area, and at least when I went the street it was on wasn't super popping. I almost thought I was in the wrong place because when you take the elevator up, the first rooftop area looks like it's closed / construction. If you walk farther back you'll see the main area, which is pretty cute. For fall they have hay bales, pumpkins, and Halloween decor. They have Halloween themed drinks and bites. I was a bit disappointed that after all that, my drink came in a simple plastic cup. But (for better or worse) it was stronger than expected! Not a ton of vegetarian friendly food options either - I'd get dinner elsewhere. Decent view.

Me the queen the doll T.

Yelp
Rooftop has a good view but food was not worth the price and you have to pay before you order and they don't accept cash. I got a charcuterie board and I was highly disappointed it only had about 5 crackers and the cheese was a bit hard and stale. For my dinner I got the sliders and they were good until I noticed both of my sliders were raw on the inside I had to wait until I saw a waiter which there was only 2 to let them know I did get two other ones well done and they were pretty good and the alcoholic drinks didn't taste alcoholic
google avatar

Chris T.

Yelp
Stayed at the adjoining hotel; we decided to go to the bar at open. Bartender there was curt, abrasive and came off like he was having a bad day and taking it out on us. We were the first people there and we felt very unwelcome - so much so I decided to write this review. Decided to just leave as he took an inordinate amount of time and it was just weird to be honest. I am sure the place is fine but wanted to share my experience so maybe management can see.
google avatar

Paloma F.

Yelp
When it's 10pm and the bar is completely empty and you walk up to the bar I'd expect at least a "hey how's it going what can I get you?" Instead we got nothing but a couple of side glances from a bartender standing right in front of us. Finally another bartender took our order. Nice furniture and views but the service was a real turn off.

Whitney G.

Yelp
The place would be amazing in the summer or warmer months. I was there on a rainy day, but still enjoyed the view with some friends. The service was ok. I wish there was more seating inside, as the round table didn't allow for give good conversations. I got a frose, it was sweeter than I expected and have previously had. It was more like a 7/11 slushy, which I didn't enjoy.
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
This is the most chill rooftop bar. It's new but going to come up! It's on top of the cutest boho hotel, catbird hotel. This rooftop bar has awesome city views and such a awesome atmosphere. It has awesome chairs & lounge areas that give it this cute picnic/park feel. You have to go here!
google avatar

Mallory R.

Yelp
I came here on a Friday night around 5:30 for a ladies night with my friends. The Red Barber is inside the New Catbird hotel which is on the edge of RiNo. I was definitely taking notes at all the fun interior decor, textures and colors inside (think gold lighting, leather and rose velvet couches, emerald green accents). The stories in the bathroom cracked me up too. The rooftop itself is awesome - super beautiful view of the mountains and downtown and there's lots of space with seating, whether you're looking for something intimate or want to sit in fun beanbag chairs near a fireplace for groups of 4-8 people. They have a cool green space for corn hole as well. The staff was super nice, but unfortunately the quality of the food was a little consistent. I ordered the beer cheese fondue which came out very water-y and inedible, so I ended up just eating the apples, pretzels and veggies that came with it. Not worth the price of $25 in my opinion. We let our waitress know and she told us that the manager would come by. It took her about 30 minutes (they seemed short staffed), and while she did offer to refund me (took down my credit card # and email), I still haven't seen the charge returned on my card. My friends also got double charged for their food/drinks because their ordering system seemed to still be working through some kinks. At the end of the night, she did come by with free fireball shots which was a nice gesture but I don't really drink haha. My friends did have some drinks that were tasty and other menu items like the Honey Grilled Cheese which was BOMB (sits a little heavy though). Overall giving 3 stars because the vibe was awesome but I think the food and operational procedures could be improved.

Bria T.

Yelp
Awesome roof top bar! Plenty of seating indoor and out, patio games, lights, good vibes. Damon killin it behind the bar with $7 rotating happy hour cocktails every Sunday, all day long
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
Rooftop bar was nice and open with cool games and hammocks. Elevator got stuck for a few people but we were brought in through another way. A bit scary but after a few drinks you tend to forget about those things. Awesome place to meet friendly people. Did not try the food but will on next visit. Fire-pit seating is a bit limited but when you can get in there is pretty amazing.
google avatar

Lindsay J.

Yelp
Amazing staff and delicious drinks! It was a chilly night and they even brought us blankets and had heaters on the patio. Def recommend!

Joshua G.

Yelp
Really sweet views from the rooftop and great staff. Travis and Damon were super helpful with the happy hour and overall the staff were awesome. They even gave us blankets when it got cold outside.

Allison B.

Yelp
Super cute bar! Funky Art Deco vibes and cool views of Rino. I've never been during the summer but they have a huge patio and seems like it'd be a great place to hang when the suns out!
google avatar

Robert B.

Yelp
Views for days!!!!! Clay and the staff was great! A group of us came for a Christmas Reef building activity, and their great service made the experience even better! Can't wait to come back and try the food.

Angela T.

Yelp
Drinks and food were good. Ambiance great. Super cute rooftop area with cool views. Lots of different live entertainment depending on the night. Service was ok.
google avatar

Frannie S.

Yelp
I have been here twice and really wanted to love this place but the drinks are so remarkably bad. The cherry on top came when we ordered a bottle of champagne to try to bypass the subpar drinks and they brought the bottle out already uncorked. Cool view. Awful service and horrendous product.
google avatar

Tristan S.

Yelp
Interesting place part of the cat bird hotel in river north denver. Right on the boarder of hot and trendy and watch where my wallet is at all times. The patio is beautiful... great city views beautiful natural flowers that are native to the area. Drinks over priced for what they are... no olives for a $15 martini disappointing food all about skewers... not sure I was a fan had tried the chicken wings and the beef. Wings were ok lacking in flavor really the beef with kimchi was so big it was hard to eat good flavor wish smaller pieces though. Over all it was a good experience again over priced for what you get IMO... but hey I'm getting older and cheaper can't say it's any worse then my normal places of fancy.
google avatar

Cassidy B.

Yelp
The rooftop has an amazing view of downtown, but the new construction is blocking the view of the mountains. The drinks were amazing, not too sugary but still had the perfect amount of flavor. Lots of entertainment and fun seating all around!

Russell B.

Yelp
Still needs work . Groovy Vibe with large rooftop. But sewage smell dampened cocktail hour. Lots of construction in the neighborhood contributed to the constant dust everywhere. Don't expect to get full value for what you pay for. Hopefully it gets better.

Kristin T.

Yelp
Amazing bartenders and ambiance. Had a great time for my friends birthday! loved it and really great for get togethers. Damien was amazing!!!!

Kellyn C.

Yelp
Damon was fantastic at the bar! Great atmosphere and beautiful patio. Celebrated our friends birthday here and it was perfect.

Kayla L.

Yelp
The bartender Damon is great! He made a tequila lavender lemon drop drink that was amazing. Fun patio too!

Yelp
My husband and I decided to go to the Red Barber one evening and we had the BEST time. This spot is so unexpected and when we got to the rooftop we were completely blown away. The look and feel of this place is super unique and in our opinion Denver's best rooftop bar. The food is amazing, the drinks are incredible and the service is the best part. Our bartender, Justin went above and beyond to make this a special experience for us. He was super knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. He was also just a pleasure to be around and you could tell he really enjoyed his job. We can't wait to return!

Payton R.

Yelp
Super cute rooftop for drinks and games ! Bartenders Damon & Travis were super sweet & just overall fun place for drinks !

Gabby C.

Yelp
So fun! Good drinks fun people great vibe! What a great way to celebrate a birthday for your friends!

Cassandra N.

Yelp
Clay, Travis, and Graham are amazing! They brought our drinks right to our table and were so friendly to our group! Couldn't ask for more, thank you all so much!!!
