"In the lively Barrio de las Letras, midway between key sights the Prado Museum and Plaza Mayor, this hip hotel makes an appealing base for couples and groups of friends exploring Madrid.
Cool, current rooms in smooth woods, smart tiles and bold prints make a gorgeous home away from home, and the buffet breakfast is served until noon – a huge plus if you’ve spent a night on the tiles with los gatos – ‘the cats,’ as the Madrilenos are known, for their nocturnal habits.
It’s close to the sights, and any lack of frills (pool, spa, gym) are made up for by both location and the relaxed and helpful staff, who give great local recommendations.

We had a fantastic stay at Room Mate Collection Alba! The location in is unbeatable — charming streets, great cafés, and easy walks to all the main sights. The hotel design is modern, stylish, and very comfortable bed, with rooms that feel cozy and well thought-out.
The service was excellent: friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the overall vibe made the stay feel special.
Highly recommended — I’d definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Madrid!

We stayed here for three nights for our Anniversary and everything was perfect. Staff on reception were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful whilst still being very professional. We loved our room, great design, very comfortable bed, hot shower and everything you could need including a top of the range Dyson hairdryer which my wife really appreciated. Breakfast was great, amazing choice and all very fresh. We loved it and look forward to staying again the next time we are in Madrid.

Beautiful, stylish hotel. Rooms were spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly, approachable, and helpful. Great location, everything was in walking distance for us. Lovely little balcony in the superior room, overlooking the city’s streets. Would stay again and highly recommend.

I stayed here for 6 nights in march 2025 and everything was great! The front desk was always very welcoming and helpful. House keeping was awesome. The WiFi was fast and reliable. The location of the hotel was great, a walkable distance to museums, shops and restaurants.
The only drawbacks:
1. The shower stall door doesn’t seal fully at the bottom, causing water to leak out.
2. The nearby restaurants can be a bit noisy at times.
3. The hotel is not directly accessible by car and a bit of walk is required.

We absolutely loved this hotel! The bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in, and the bathroom was spacious and beautifully appointed. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches like the Dyson hairdryer, such a standout detail.
The service was exceptional from start to finish; everyone we interacted with was warm, kind, and accommodating, making us feel very welcome. The location is also fantastic - walkable to many nearby sights, which is perfect if you’re visiting Madrid for the first time.
We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, comfortable hotel with outstanding service.

My wife and I stayed at the Roommate Alba in Madrid for 7 days in late September 2025. What a great hotel and staff! We stayed in the 'penthouse', or top floor. Roomy and comfortable. Quiet too, with crazy windows that I suggest you get a tutorial from the staff on how to open before attempting it on your own. The breakfast was excellent as well, but the real advantage of this hotel is its location. It is on a pedestrian friendly street in one of the most vibrant and centrally located neighborhoods in the city. Ten minutes walking to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Fifteen minutes to Retiro Park. The blue line (the one your most likely to make use of on the Metro) is 5 minutes walk away at the Anton Martin stop (next to a great market, by the way). And the neighborhood is full of great restaurants, bars, flamenco tablaos etc. Just walk out the door and you are there, in the middle of the action. You won't be disappointed in this hote.

Excellent hotel - we really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was friendly and approachable, the location was perfect (10-15 minutes walks to museums, Gran Via, Royal Palace, Atocha station, La Latina neighborhood, etc., etc.), and the room was fantastic - quiet, comfortable, sizable. This place really checked all of the boxes for us, and we would strongly recommend it.

My stay was all sunshine and roses until the theft happened at my check out. Around 8:10 a.m. one morning in July, I walked up to the only staff at the front desk to check out while my daughter went to a sofa. In just a few minutes, my daughter’s backpack placed around the sofa had been stolen. The front desk staff, my daughter and I were the only people in the small lobby at that time. The theft was adeptly done. I immediately asked the staff to phone the police. The staff advised that the police would not come, therefore he did not call. I did not want to spend time debating. My daughter and I helplessly dashed out of the hotel. We ran to the police station at the far end of C. de las Huertas and filed a report. Upon return to the hotel, I requested another staff who just reported duty to phone the duty manager. Over the phone, the duty manager said it would take her 20 minutes to get to the hotel. I had to head to the airport and would like her to watch the footage of the 4 CCTVs (at least) installed at the lobby ceiling. Until now, we are not informed any further news. We fell victim. We don't want other people to fall victim to the same theft.
