Room Mate Collection Alba

Absolutely wonderful hotel in the literary section of Madrid. It is just steps away from a number of excellent local restaurants and the Prado and Reina Sofia are nearby. Excellent and friendly staff, the room was very cozy and accommodating. While the Palace, the main plaza, and the Gran Via are a little bit of a hike, all are doable if you are in reasonable shape and enjoy walking. Highly recommended for service, value and location.

We stayed for over two weeks at Room Mate Alba on Calle de las Huertas in Madrid, and I just want to say how truly wonderful the experience was. The front desk staff were exceptional — without a doubt the best hotel team we have ever encountered. Every single person was professional, warm, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. They made our stay feel special from beginning to end. A heartfelt thank you to everyone working at the hotel. Your kindness and dedication did not go unnoticed. We will absolutely be back. 10 out of 10 — the best hotel and staff we have ever experienced.

Great stay at Room Mate Collection Alba. We stayed 3 nights & also added one more night on our return from South America, enjoyed it just as much the second time. The room was stylish, clean & very comfortable…loved the design & cosy feel. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Sol metro, making it easy to get around & also close enough to walk everywhere. Staff were friendly & helpful. A really pleasant stay overall & it’s a place we’d happily return.

We had booked the suite, and it was just like the online pictures; lovely and warm and cosy and extremely clean with a massive comfy bed. There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and two enormous TVs with Netflix. There was a coffee machine and kettle, a Dyson hairdryer, slippers, dressing gowns, free toiletries and a Marshall radio which was a lovely extra to have as we could Bluetooth music from our phones. The only small issue I noticed was that it was a bit dark in one half of the bedroom; it could have done with extra ceiling lights to brighten it up a bit.|The bathroom had two sinks, a bath and three(!) different showers and the water pressure was excellent. Towels were replenished each day and the attention to detail from the cleaning staff was second to none. It could just have done with a fan to clear away the steam after using the shower as the mirrors were steamed up for quite a while after.|The breakfast was excellent with loads of choice and lovely, fresh, tasty food. It was so nice and filling that we only had one other meal each day.|The bar was lovely to sit and relax with a drink at night and all the hotel staff were friendly and helpful and always smiling.|The location was excellent being less than 10 minutes' walk to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol, and less than 20 minutes' walk to El Retiro park, the Royal Palace of Madrid and the train station.|We had an all-round excellent stay at Room Mate Alba, and I would highly recommend booking it!

We stayed here for three nights for our Anniversary and everything was perfect. Staff on reception were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful whilst still being very professional. We loved our room, great design, very comfortable bed, hot shower and everything you could need including a top of the range Dyson hairdryer which my wife really appreciated. Breakfast was great, amazing choice and all very fresh. We loved it and look forward to staying again the next time we are in Madrid.

We had a fantastic stay at Room Mate Collection Alba! The location in is unbeatable — charming streets, great cafés, and easy walks to all the main sights. The hotel design is modern, stylish, and very comfortable bed, with rooms that feel cozy and well thought-out. The service was excellent: friendly, helpful, and always welcoming. Everything was clean and well maintained, and the overall vibe made the stay feel special. Highly recommended — I’d definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Madrid!

We had a great time staying in this beautiful hotel! The location is amazing, close to great restaurants and shops! Also the street is so quiet at night that you can barely hear anything! Breakfast is delicious and the staff is very friendly! Hope I can come back someday!

Besides writing about how comfortable and welcomed we felt during our stay at Room Mate Alba, I'd like to personally express our gratitude for two staff members: Jose and the young lady who was working at the front desk on January 05th in the evening (I'm not quite sure about her name, maybe it's Alicia? Anyway, the hotel's management might identify her by the time frame I mentioned). She went beyond expectations when she helped us to locate a lost bag at the Banksy Museum. Not only she called the museum for us, but she also made sure that they would wait for us to go back and pick up the bag before closing, and that we could get a taxi on time. She really got involved in our issue, and that's what differs a good hotel from an EXCELLENT hotel, like Room Mate Alba proved to be. As for Jose, he is a gentleman who is always very kind, and who did everything he could to make our stay a memorable one.||As for the hotel itself, I can only agree with other reviews that highlight the perfect location, on a central but quite and very charming area of the city; and the extremely comfortable rooms, very warming for the cold days we got in Madrid. ||We couldn't be more satisfied, especially after what Jose and the young lady at the front desk did during our stay.
