My experience at Roosevelt Apartments at
2220 Walnut St was very negative. The building had ongoing water-related problems, including leaks, foul odors, and signs of water contamination that affected both my unit and common areas. These issues led to recurring mold that was painted over instead of properly treated, along with heavy dust throughout the building. Over time, the mold, dust, and water issues contributed to respiratory problems that I did not have before living there. I documented everything with photos.
There were also signs of rodent activity, stained carpets, scattered mail, and a large leaking hole in the lobby ceiling. The front and back doors were often broken, which made the building feel unsafe.
I reported these issues repeatedly. Instead of addressing them, management became offended by my transparency about the conditions. Nothing was resolved in a meaningful or long-term way. The actual condition of the property is nowhere near what the promotional photos suggest.
Based on my experience, I strongly recommend inspecting the building in person and paying close attention to water quality, mold, and overall maintenance before considering a lease.
