22 Houston Restaurants With Brag-Worthy Banh Mi

"With recipes adapted from her grandmother’s sandwich shop in Vietnam, Linda Nguyen and her husband Ronnie have created a legacy of their own in Houston with Roostar’s banh mi. Here, baguette loaves are chock-full of flavorful fillings, including chopped rib-eye, fried pollock, and the “special” combination of juicy sous vide pork belly, ham, and savory pate. Make it meatless with Impossible protein, crispy tofu, or avocado. If you’re looking to lessen the endearing crunch, skip the bread altogether, and opt for a bowl or lettuce wrap." - Minh Truong, Brittany Britto Garley

Overall best banh mi in town. I love the special (dac biet) and the chopped ribeye sandwiches.

Been going since they were Vietnam Poblano in Spring Branch and they've only gotten better. Best banh mi's anywhere in the Houston area, haven't found another restaurant that even comes close. Perfect flavor and texture on the meat, excellent veggies and sauce, crispy yet soft bread. My only issue is I live an hour away and I can't eat it every day, open one in Conroe please.

Really nice people and great food. My wife got the grilled pork box which was very tasty and tender, it came with lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, green onions, cilantro and fried onions and a pork eggroll. She also enjoyed a small and tasty bowl of beef alphabet soup. She got some housemade ranch dressing which made everything taste even better. I thoroughly enjoyed and destroyed a half banh combo, the chopped ribeye came with jalapenos, cucumbers, pickled carrots, cilantro, soy sauce and garlic aoli....I'm getting bad about forgetting to get a fried egg added but it was stellar even with the omission (on my part). Anytime I try a new place I have to get a Vietnamese iced coffee, their's was 5 stars. We''ll be back. Our second visit was as great as our first. My wife enjoyed the grilled pork salad with fish sauce, the grilled pork, the salad and the fish sauce was amazing. This meal came with a fried eggroll...yum. She remembered how much she loved their alphabet soup so she ordered a couple 16 ounce bowls of it to go and some fried eggrolls...we had that for dinner and we were very happy. My lunch meal was even better than hers, I devoured a half banh mi combo, the banh mi was beef and it was tasty and tender, the side I got was the beef curry, more yum.....I think i'll get this again on my next visit! We had some goodies delivered and they were amazing. My wife enjoyed her grilled chicken box and a fried eggroll. We got some massive and tasty curled french fries for our granddaughter...she loved them. I thoroughly enjoyed a chopped ribeye Banh Mi with a fried egg and a dash of sriracha sauce, the fried egg was amazing, fried over medium with yolk running all over the other goodies. Their banh mi beef is far superior to most other contenders, tender with over the top flavor....we'll be back in person soon. We ordered over 30 dollars so we got a free blonde cinnamon brownie.

Google
This place was so great. I’ve worked in the area for years and never tried it. I can’t believe it took me so long. The food was fantastic. Extensive menu. I had The Special banh mi, pork egg rolls, and beef soup. Everything I had was delicious. You could taste the freshness of the ingredients and all the dishes I had were incredibly flavorful. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Fun atmosphere. I will definitely be coming here again and again.

This place is a gem. They never fail me. We order here all the time. Staff is friendly, it's in a great location, and the food is great.

On my first date with my husband during COVID 2020, I picked up the grilled pork banh mi sandwich from here. We had a picnic dinner at the Houston Waterwall. We absolutely love Roostar foods. So when we got married in HTX at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, we decided to have lunch catering from Roostar. Their banh mi sandwich hold special meaning for us to have and share with our guests. Our guests absolutely enjoyed the sandwiches, especially the dac biet w/ pate. We love to support our local Vietnamese businesses!

Google
The food was decent & average. Nothing too crazy nor extraordinary. But what was above average is the big smile on the faces of the staff & the cashir lady. 😃

Google
This is definitely my new go to for my Vietnamese food fix! Absolutely delish! Smart Fusion concept because they pair the best with the best - example Yellow Beef Curry Nachos. Need I say more!? Do yourself a favor and check them out! Trust me!

My wife and I tried this place for lunch earlier today and the food was delicious. I tried the banh mi sandwich and my wife had the combo box. We also got the bulgogi fries and they were so good! The girl at the counter also gave us a free order of slaw. Service was excellent. I highly recommend this place!!

Yelp
Banh Mi was tasty but it tasted more americanized - and for the price, the Banh Mi was expensive for the size and what was given.... I will say that the vegetables could be more pickled and the meat did it taste seasoned. The bread and the aioli was the best part about the Banh Mi. (we ordered a pork and chopped rib eye banh mi w/ egg roll side). Also got a matcha milk tea. The matcha milk tea was good buuuut it definitely did not taste like matcha?? tasted like green tea. The guy who took our order was super nice and friendly. He came and checked on us as well. Restaurant parking was not bad either, we found parking immediately. The process to order and sit down was quick and simple. Got our food super fast.

Yelp
The only reason Roostar is getting a four star is because of the special bahn mi. If it weren't for the bahn mi, I would not frequent rooster nearly as much. My sister and I ended up ordering the special bahn mi, the grilled pork box and the Bulgogi fries. The special bahn mi: this bahn mi featured a variety of cold cuts, pork belly and the best and most unique part of this sandwich: the pate. Everything was so delicious together. The bread was nicely buttered, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sandwich also featured a nice array of fresh vegetables that paired well with the rich meats. I finished my meal and went back to order a bahn mi to-go. The grilled pork plate: this plate of meat was very subpar. The grilled pork was not flavorful enough. The texture was a little bit mushy, and overall there was nothing appealing about this plate that would set it above its competitors. The plate was expensive, and the portion size was also quite small. The Bulgogi fries: these fries were my least favorite dish of our meal. First of all I did not expect to get potato wedges. I feel like Bulgogi fries only go well with crispy straight fries. The Bulgogi on top with thick, not thin and saucy like Bulgogi should be. I will not be ordering this dish again. Overall, the service was nice and the ambiance inside gave off a good vibe. I would come back but, only for the bahn mi.

Yelp
Roostar rocks. The bahn-mi is the thing to get. And the Vietnamese iced coffee. And the rice boxes. Everything is great! When I'm in Houston I typically will drive 30min to pay a visit to this place.

Yelp
I came from Austin, I've seen tiktok videos of Roostar and the food is good, as advertised that I saw online. The alphabet soup is very good, basically it's the beef broth from pho so it's a familiar taste. Good flavors from the soup, a tad too oily for me. Nice salt balance. The banh mi is good, I've had plenty of banh mi in my life, this one is a good example. Fluffy bread, crispy exterior and nice soft inside. Definitely the bread is very good. The pate is yummy, earthy flavor and creamy at the same time. Love the overall mixture of pickled vegetables with the slices of meats. Great example of banh mi and the price point of $8 is not bad. I like the sandwich but not in love with it. I would have preferred slightly more meat, maybe 1 more layer will do. Every bite is more bread, the first I taste is bread, then the meats, and then the pickled vegetables. I would have preferred a slightly more pickle taste on the greens, more meat, and then we are talking! But yes good sandwich.

Yelp
Love getting banh mis here. Ive also had their plates and fries which were just as good! I've ate in the restaurant and also ordered out through door dash/uber eats. The restaurant is small but can fit a good amount of people also has a little outdoor area.

Yelp
One of my favorite fusiony banh mi spots in downtown Houston. Love the bbq pork and ribeye banh mi sandwiches. Their loaded fries are also quite good - I would highly recommend the beef curry fries. Great spot for a quick lunch or takeout

Yelp
If you shopping in the Galleria or Uptown area of Houston, please do yourself a favor and check out Roostar Vietnamese Grill. For fairly reasonable prices, you can experience delicious banh mi sandwiches, curry fries, and beef alphabet soup. The banh mi's came atop perfect bread that was evenly balanced between crispy exterior and chewy interior. Their chicken also had a pleasant lemongrass note. Additionally, the curry fries were my favorite type of potato wedge and perfectly cooked so they didn't end up soggy under the curry topping. This location also has a large dining room with plenty of seating, a cute patio, and stellar service. 5/5 stars. Highly recommend for a casual bite out.

Yelp
I had a lot of hesitancy coming here as I was assuming this was just a gimicky restaurant. Boy was I surprised and definitely glad I came here! Came here on a weeknight so it was pretty quiet and empty. Its a fast, casual spot so you order up at the cashier and they give you a buzzer and you pick up your food when its ready. We ordered quite a spread between us so the grilled chicken and special banh mi, beef alphabet soup, beef curry fries, lychee tea, and garlic bread (thanks Yelp for the check-in treat!). The banh mi looked good and until I took a bite, I was still under the what is this gimmicky "fancy" banh mi that looks just like any other one? The bread was crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, it was warmed up so the pate had a melty/creamy consistency, the meats and veggies were fresh and flavorful. It really was a great banh mi and probably one of, if not, my favorites in the Houston area. Everything else was also a nice surprise, very flavorful, slightly sweet alphabet soup with actual rice noodle alphabet pieces. The curry fries were a nice vietnamese curry, I wish it packed a bit more oomph to stand up to the fries but still really great. The garlic bread was very well buttered up. Def do not sleep on the lychee tea either! Our cashier even came by to check on us, which was a nice extra service for a fast casual spot. I'll definitely be coming back to get more food in the future and also continue to eat my, well thoughts, since this was such a great dining experience.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because this is definitely one of the best banh mi spots in Houston. --- --- --- And the only thing more prevalent in Houston than banh mi is Tex-Mex, so that's some pretty high praise. Actually, it's unfair to just call this an banh mi shop because they have a ton of great options on the menu. But they have several different types of banh mi, and I really loved the OG. No notes - it was perfect. I also ordered some bulgogi fries and couldn't resist trying the coconut cream corn. Both were home runs. I've never seen coconut cream corn before, but it was everything you'd want it to be and something I think more restaurants should do. The bulgogi fries were really thick and curly, with all of the awesomeness piled on top. The manager hooked me up with a couple samples of the pho and the slaw. The pho was really enjoyable, but the slaw stole the show. I have never had anything quite like it and would never come back to Roostar again without getting this. It's a combination of unique flavors and texture in every bite that must be eaten by every future visitor of Roostar until the end of time. I've had multiple Roostar locations bookmarked for years and was very close to visiting one on several different occasions, but it just was never in the cards. Today, I made sure to finally stop in and am kicking myself for waiting so long!

Yelp
This place is excellent. I travel for work, and have for years. This is immediately in my top 5 places to eat on the road. The Pork Banh Mi was savory, a little sweet, full of flavor. The beef bowl with fried rice was filling and full of flavor. The lychee tea was refreshing, it was super good. With the sandwich, kids meal and tea, the meal cost about $18 after tax. Diana was helpful and knowledgeable. She was obviously passionate about the menu and their product. She walked me through the menu and guided me well having many excellent suggestions. Her service alone was worth a return. I had my food in about 5 minutes. The vibe is clean and feels a little street foody. They also had some beer options and snack foods if you are less hungry. Absolutely worth a stop. Without a question a 5 star experience.

Yelp
OMG! The food was amazing!!! 10/10. And Liz is the most amazing staff member that has exceptional customer service! The best food I've had in Houston so far.

Yelp
Diana was very kind in helping me fix a mix-up! The service and food at these restaurants is amazing!!

Yelp
Ok, I'm obsessed with these sandwiches. I've tried every one of them, and they never disappoint. My fave is the classic: who knew pate' + pork belly paired so well together? And the bread is always the perfect combination of crispy and chewy. Add fresh japs and I am in heaven.

Yelp
This is our go to for chain/franchise viet food. Been going here since they opened. Last time I was looking for soup and asked if the soup was spicy cause I'm ordering or a kid and they said no but it does have a lot of pepper kick to it. So she was unable to eat it since she's a baby. Another time I order to go and they forgot my fish sauce. So I had to go back and get it. Environment is like a nice food court or diner modern vibes.

Yelp
I have never been to a fast food service type Vietnamese but this place surprised me and it did not disappoint. I came fright before the lunch hour rush, this location is small but they have plenty of seating, it got packed fast! I came once in person and ordered the Bahn Mi special with a side of the beef letter soup and OMG my tastes buds were in heaven. The food came out super fast but they did not skip on quality or flavor. They even checked in on me from time to time which I appreciated. The vibe is really eclectic and vibrant. I enjoyed my experience at Roostar!
google avatar

Oge O.

Yelp
Sooooo delicious!!! 1/2 grilled pork sandwich with a side of beef alphabet soup. The alphabet soup was a shock to my taste buds, was not expecting for it to taste soooo good. And the price was actually a shock to me bcz the meal was only $10 and tht was after I added avocado chunks to my sandwich which was an up charge. I am STUFFED & satisfied. Will be back to explore the menu.

Yelp
My first time at this location. Super clean and a really great ambiance. The food was fantastic and the staff was very friendly. I only wish I came a little later so I could try some of their craft beer selections. The new beef yellow curry was my favorite. Damn was it good on the fries. I could bathe in that stuff. And of course you can never go wrong with their banh mi. The secret is their bread. So fresh and such a terrific crunch.

Yelp
Cute little restaurant that does a lot of things well! I had the bi-mih pork sandwich. It was flavorful, and a good size for the price. I also ordered the spicy chicken wings for my husband. He enjoyed them; in fact, I can't remember him eating wings as quickly as he put them away! The fried rice was just okay for me; it needed more flavor and spice to my liking. All in all, I'd return to eat here again!
google avatar

Yelp
This is a cute little restaurant that my friend and I tried when we were in Houston. I was very surprised at how tasty the food was since I love the Vietnamese food in Sacramento and I have high standards for Vietnamese food. The customer service was amazing! The staff were very helpful on explaining the items on the menu. We got the garlic bread for free since we checked in on Yelp. The bread was amazing! So flavorful yet perfectly crispy. We got the fries to try, the meat and sauce were very tasty. I got the grilled pork box which was enough for two meals. I took the rest for lunch for the next day. I will definitely come back to this spot the next time I'm in town.
google avatar

Melodi D.

Yelp
Honestly, I've never been really amazed by a banh mi; I always like them, but none has ever wowed me. That officially changed when I tried Roostar. I tried the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and the Tofu Banh Mi (whole shabang style!). Both were so delicious. They were fresh, flavorful, and hot. I don't know exactly what sauce they used, but it really was great. I also loved how the tofu was very garlicky. The service was also exceptional. The woman working there was so kind, had a big smile the whole time, and even checked in on our table despite the establishment being counter service. Overall, I cannot recommend Roostar enough!
google avatar

Marium M.

Yelp
This is a great spot if you're in the mood for some Vietnamese food and can't make it down to Bellaire. I got the grilled pork box and chose rice noodles and fish sauce to go along since I wanted it to mimic vermicelli. The veggies were yummy and I wish they would've included more of them. The egg roll was nice and crispy. They gave a good portion of meat that was well seasoned. The service was excellent, you order up front and then go sit down and you'll get called up for your food. The servers do pass by your table every once in a while to check up on you which is nice. The location itself was very clean and organized. I do wish they had more menu items but other than that it was great!
google avatar

Gabriel B.

Yelp
Located in the heart of the Galleria, this Vietnamese restaurant offers a menu filled with flavorful dishes that showcase the richness of Vietnamese cuisine. While the food is tasty and satisfying, there's noticeable room for improvement to truly elevate the dining experience. The customer service is decent, but with a bit more attentiveness, it could match the potential of the vibrant flavors on the plate.

Yelp
Have bookmarked Roostar Vietnamese Grill for a while. What a great place to order delicious Banh mi sandwiches or boxes. Ordered a couple of sandwiches, grilled chicken and smoked salmon. Both the Grilled Chicken Banh Mi and the Smoked Salmon Bahn Mi were delicious. The soft baguette was filled with chicken or salmon and lots of sliced carrots, cucumbers and cilantro (and jalapeños). The crust was so crispy and the baguette was so light and airy. The garlic aioli pairs the flavors together perfectly. Got a noodle box with grilled tofu. Love the fresh Banh mi vegetables and peanuts to mix with the thin rice noodles. This come with a side like vegetable soup or creamed coconut corn. The creamed corn was so delicious especially with the rice noodles and tofu. Add a bowl of Thai Chicken Soup to round out the meal. So easy to order for a contactless delivery on line. Delicious!

Yelp
Super good food and it came out super fast! The restaurant is super nice and the staff are very helpful. There are so many places to sit and everything is kept super clean. It was so worth going there!

Yelp
I was in the area when the hunger pangs hit, so I checked out my bookmarks in the area and saw Roostar had been patiently waiting for some time for me to check it out. I came at lunch and the place was busy, but they kept things moving. Customer service was good. Inside was clean with just enough seating to handle the lunch crowd. I already knew that I wanted a banh mi, but which one was up in the air. When in doubt, I let the staff pick. The nice gentleman told me to go with their tried and true and also crowd favorite grilled pork. I also ordered an order of their Vietnamese pork eggrolls and a lychee tea. The banh me was absolutely delicious. The bread was your typical baguette that crispy and flaky on the outside, yet soft on the inside. It held up the traditional toppings of jalapenos, carrots, cucumbers, and cilantro well. Soy sauce and garlic aioli was a great touch also. The meat was tender and seasoned to perfection. The egg rolls were solid, nothing to write home about. My lychee tea was tasty and was a great pairing to the food. Overall, this is a solid fast food type Vietnamese restaurant that I would gladly visit again.

Yelp
This is the home of some darn fine sammiches! We had the Pork Banh Mi and it was delish. Very tasty pork with great toppings on excellent bread. Those fries though! So crispy and delish, don't miss these bad boys. We also had the egg rolls and Sriracha Wings and they were also well prepared. Staff was great! The young lady at the counter answered all our questions and was very friendly. Restaurant was clean and inviting. Looking for a Banh Mi? Stop all the reading and get over here!

Raquel R.

Yelp
Roostar Vietnamese had been my favorite place for Banh Mi sandwiches but was very disappointed during my last visit. I usually go to the Gessner location but was in the Galleria area so I tried the location on Richmond. I ordered my usual - grilled pork Banh Mi but the pork was so fatty! I understand it may have some fat in it but this was too much! Probably half of the meat was fat...why not trim some of the fat off? Definitely not worth the money! $$
google avatar

Christabelle C.

Yelp
Place was small but lots of seating. Service was fast. Flavors aren't traditional-- more like modern version. It's not the best, but it's not the worst.
google avatar

Art W.

Yelp
Absolutely the best friggin Bahn mi in town!. I love Bahn mi and eat them all over. But this, this a whole northern level of Vietnamese goodness. Linda, Maris and her team rock out some of the best of the best I've ever eaten. I stop by every time I'm near. Hell, I'll even go out of my way to grab one of there grilled pork Bahn miss. There garlic aoli the use if unreal. Meat is hot and fresh, veggies are crisp and perfect ly balanced w the sandwich. Roll is fresh, crisp and completes the sandwich. So if your a Bahn mi explorer go find the place. Corner of Richmond and chimney rock. You will not be disappointed. They also offer all sorts of other menu options...
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious food! I love coming here for the sandwiches and plates. Their fish sauce is so delicious ‍

Yelp
So awesome! Everything at this Roostar at Galleria area is what I expected. Service is much friendlier than the original restaurant in Spring Branch area when I first discovered it. I was here for the alphabet soup and some light bites before going to work. I think the mall was under renovation. A loud truck parked outside; I could not eat at my car. So, I ate some of the food inside of the restaurant. The ambience was very local. Clientele was younger than the restaurants in the area. It was lunchtime and the restaurant was half filled with dine-in customers. Most people still do the takeout options. I love their environmental friendly packaging. Biodegradable boxes and reusable plastic bags. The mismatched chairs are so quaint. The most important thing is the parking, just plenty at the strip mall called Circle West Plaza.
google avatar

Lis W.

Yelp
Love the food fusion that this restaurant offers! Vietnamese food is one of my top favorite.

Yelp
Service was fantastic But Food was over seasoned and meat was tough. I got ban mi. Ambiance was good. Feels like fast paced get in and out place

Yelp
Another great experience with great customer service and great tasting food!!! Box with whole shabang wings/noodles/Jalapeno Cilantro Sauce.

Yelp
My friend recommended this place, citing the excellent Yelp ratings across all of its locations. Roostar did not disappoint! Based on the fast food-esque ambiance, I was expecting low-key service, but they really go above and beyond - service was phenomenal and gives it that X-factor to earn the coveted five-star review. While we dined in, a worker came around to check on all of the guests to make sure everything was okay and ask if we needed anything. We requested an extra side of their garlic aioli and he brought it out to our table. This extra hospitality will keep customers coming back. We ordered at the register and I ordered their "special" banh mi - pork belly, ham, and pate - and really enjoyed it. The banh mi cost $8 and change. Their pate gave it that classic banh mi flavor, and the toppings (cucumber, pickled carrots, cilantro, and jalapeños) were crisp and fresh; no complaints. It was a satisfying banh mi in every bite. They also had a Yelp check-in offer for a free Roostar garlic bread, which they honored with no problems. I was just expecting a single piece of bread, but instead it came with four generous pieces of deliciousness. The bread was everything you want it to be - soft, warm, crusty, smothered in their amazing garlic aioli and finished with Parmesan. I could not get enough of their garlic aioli! Pro tip: Order extra and put it on everything. I would never think to order garlic bread as a side since I'm already getting bread with the banh mi, but the garlic bread was a flavor bomb and an excellent starter for the rest of the meal. We also ordered a side of their garlic butter fries (this meal was garlic galore for sure). The dazzling sidewinder fries were doused in seasonings and served with a jalapeño cream dipping sauce. The sauce had a kick to it but wasn't too spicy for me. Don't sleep on these fries! They're crisp, meaty, and the curly shape makes them the perfect vehicle for dipping into their sauces to fill in every nook and cranny. Roostar is full of good vibes and I highly recommend stopping by as a place to grab a quick bite.

Aarti P.

Yelp
Great place for a quick and satisfying meal. Service was friendly, walk up to the counter, order, get a buzzer, fill your drink and grab a seat. Shortly after, buzzer rings, pick up your fresh, tasty nosh and simply enjoy. You do not want to miss on those fries. They stand strong alone but the fragrant dip is amazing.
google avatar

Yelp
Just wow. It's a little pricey compared to a lot of other Vietnamese options, but it's so so good. This also isn't your typical mom and pop Viet joint and they offer a lot of fusion dishes- and boy do they slap. Their meats, particularly their ribeye, is so incredibly flavorful and tender. Beef is so often tough, but this was beautiful. I usually like Vietnamese food for the high health to flavor ratio, but those Gogi fries will make the fat kid in you rejoice. They're incredible! Ask for extra Jalapeno cream sauce for dipping, you'll thank me later. They also meticulously pack their to go food with care and our order was 100% correct- as someone who puts in a large group order to a variety of restaurants at least weekly, our orders are routinely messed up enough for it to be worth mentioning. Overall, we loved our order and are looking forward to trying their ribeye banh mi, and well, ribeye everything. We'll definitely order again but for pick up. Our only complaint is the high cost of extras and each menu item is outrageously higher on Uber Eats on top of the $18 in misc fees (not including tip).

Yelp
Roostar was just what I needed to satisfy my bahn Mi craving. After I realized Le Girval was closed we found Roostar. I'm so happy I did. My bahn Mi was so delicious. Crispy bread, tender meat, pickled veg, absolute perfection. The garlic bread was literally to die for. My wife ordered a vermicelli bowl and hers was so good I almost ate half of it. Prices are fair and the se service is impeccable. A must try.

Yelp
Love this place!! The banh mi tasted perfect, and I loved that the jalapeños on it were a bit spicy. Their curry is super yummy as well. Definitely really good, Vietnamese flavors. The service was QUICK! The food came out within 5 minutes. We also got the Thai tea and matcha milk tea. Those were OK because it was kinda powdery and watered down. The ambiance is very nice. They have plenty of seating and I love the decor & cleanliness. We will be back to try other options!

Yelp
I'm in town for the Rodeo BBQ Cookoff, and I wanted to check this place out. Boy! I'm glad I did! Their bánh mì is amazing! So flavorful and their pickled vegetables are perfect!

Yelp
Highly recommend for a yummy quick bite. Best egg rolls I've ever had. Fast, filling, lots of options! Very friendly staff and a cute, clean place.

Yelp
Great little spot to stop for something quick to eat. Don't forget to check-in to get free item! Went just before lunchtime and wasn't busy at all so food came out quickly. I would suggest eating the Bahn-mi with Iced coffee. Very flavorful and just enough to hit the spot! If I'm ever in the area again, I would definitely stop by here!

Yelp
I love the place, everything from scratch as what I can tell. I always get 2 Bhah Mi sandwiches. The only reason I give them 4 stars is because the place inside smells like when you leave food in the sink and you never clean the disposal that kind of odor otherwise is a good place.

Yelp
I'm going to say it. You may find this controversial, but I'm going to say it anyways. Roostar has the best Banh Mi in all of H-Town. This is the rock I am willing to die on. I've hunted far and wide for those delicious Vietnamese Sandwiches, but Roostar always keeps me coming back. I've been to all the Roostar locations in the city, and its always spectacular deliciousness and a great atmosphere, this location closest to the Galleria is no different! There is great seating, the staff is phenomenal, and the food always keeps me coming back. Order any Banh Mi, honestly it doesn't matter which one, you can't go wrong. THEY ARE ALL DELICIOUS. I typically stick with chicken, I'll add some avocado and pate just to spice it up. The bread that they make these sandwiches with must come from the Lord himself. They are absolute buttery goodness with the perfect crunch. Sometimes, when I'm truly blessed, the Sandwich will be accompanied with a tooth-pic that has Homer Simpson on it. As a BIG Simpsons fan, this is the way to my heart. "Mmmmmmmmmmm Yummy Ban Mi, Best of Springfield," I mean Houston...Doh!!! You also have to order some eggrolls! Make sure you get them with the lettuce and eat them the traditional way that would make all of Vietnam proud. Roll up your eggroll in the lettuce and dip it in that magical sauce. Oh boy, its the perfect balance. Fresh and crunchy with that yummy pork! Get a Vietnamese Coffee if you want to be up all day. If not, stick to the great options they have for fountain drinks. They usually have great teas that are PHEONOMENAL! If you look up Roostar in the dictionary it will be accompanied by the emoji of a chef's kiss. Muah! Absolute perfection. You have to try it. Its the best of the best of Houston.

Yelp
Pretty solid spot if you are craving banh mi. On my visit I got the "Special" banh mi and the garlic bread. The banh mi itself was good as the bread was perfectly toasted and there was a good amount of filling. Personally, I wish there was more pickled vegetables inside but nonetheless it was good. I will say, the sandwiches are a bit higher in price than in Chinatown. The garlic bread was also surprisingly tasty. If you are coming in, be sure to check in on Yelp to claim your free garlic bread. The restaurant itself is small, so seats may be hard to come by during rush hour. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Will most likely be back.
