Rooster's Glenside

Went here for a pre-show dinner. Even without a reservation, which we seemingly should have made theu still got us in amd seated quickly. Service was quick to get to us and get us started even though the place was packed! We started with an order of Fried pickles. Which to us were over battered and very heavy. We followed those up with wings and fries as our entre. The wings looked amazing and came out pretty quick. We do wings everywhere we go, and these left a lot to be desired. We found them to be very heavy with vinegar. Overpowering and hard to eat without dipping in ranch which I never do. The fries were simple and basic and likely the best part of our meal, which isn't saying much. The good: amazing service! Rachel our server was on top on everything, very attentive, and friendly to boot. Final thoughts, we'd go back. It was super busy, you can tell it's a local favorite. Maybe next time not before a show when it is busier than normal. The service and atmosphere are worth a second try!

Hubs and I shared the Handmade ricotta app with olive tapenade added in. It was really good and served with thick sourdough bread (sorry pic is of it half eaten!). Housemade Caesar dressing was so delish on my salad with salmon added to top. Hubs had ribeye cheesesteak and he said it was terrific. Had to wait an uncomfortable amount of time at the hostess stand waiting to be seated at 3:30 and it was not busy. Server was adorable and friendly. We will be back.

The food was great. The wings were awesome. Would definitely scoop some for a tailgate party. If you go please ask for Aneesa to be your waitress. She was AMAAAAZING!! Personable, engaging, polite, and all around awesome!!!

We had dinner at Roosters in early fall 2025 and were not impressed. We received a gift card at Christmas. This was a much, much better experience! Food was delicious! Fries were crispy. I love the chips and french onion dip...and will come back for that alone;) But the best part was our waitress, Kate. She made our experience fun. In this day a lot of servers do not know how to communicate well. That is not an issue with her. Great service and conversation. We will definitely be back!

Our 1st time visiting, the food was delicious! The wings, burgers, cheese curds were all very tasty!! My husband enjoyed a smokey old fashion, it was delicious. I had the bartender create me a caramel apple martini that was perfect! We'll be back for sure!!

It's basically a sports bar with pub food. They did a great job renovating the space, and it feels just upscale enough. It's was very busy when I was there (probably because there was a show at the Keswick) and the very young staff seemed overwhelmed. They handled everything fine, but not with the kind of big smiles a great vibes I'd expect from a new place like this. The food is good. Nothing especially creative or prepared in an outstanding fashion, but that's not what I'm looking for at a place like this. I just want bar/pub food that's dependable. Rooster's delivers that. I ordered the wings. The server recommended mild for "hot, but not painful." That's exactly what I got: juicy chicken with crispy skin, slathered in a hot wing sauce that was just a little thinner than ketchup, so probably not the traditional Frank's style hot sauce + butter. My son order the veggie patty melt (Impossible Burger, onions, mushrooms and Swiss). Good choice to make it a patty melt; the oozing cheese and umami onions/mushrooms adds a good dose of fat to compensate for the lack of beef tallow. Fries were crispy and well seasoned. My wife had the sliders appetizer and the fried Brussel sprouts. The slider patties were a little chewy, like a school cafeteria hamburger--most likely the result of low-heat cooking, or sitting too long (perhaps they weren't cooked to order or maybe baked on a sheet tray in a convection oven). The spouts were exactly what she wanted. They were garnished with pomegranate arils and dusted with parmesan. They would've been better with sherry vinegar instead of balsamic. Overall, this place is a good addition to Glenside. It's a menu like what you'd get from a fast-casual chain restaurant, but much higher quality and you're supporting a local business. I mean, it's actually owned by a "restaurant group" with many locations in area. But the owners are from the Philly-area, and the choice of the name "Rooster's" suggests they care about local communities. If you're in the mood for what they're trying to do, this place will satisfy you.

First time here, great vibe, good food, excellent service. I had the she crab soup and the apple goat cheese salad, both outstanding. Rachel provided attentive and friendly service. Will definitely be back!

Interesting brunch experience just now. Server was very nice! Did a great job accommodating all of us , couldn't be better. Food: Not bad, my burger was just kind of a slightly better big mac, fries weren't particularly hot, just warm ish. Burger patties clearly frozen premade. Chicken and waffles eh. Grits tasted like they were reheated a couple of times, eggs poached well, and waffles were fine. Atmosphere: Here's where it falls apart. I could hear the cooks talking super loudly and laced with profanity. Not a prude but it was so loud it o overwhelmed the ambient music. Also playing the in kitchen music, which seemed to be set on "early 2000/90sz rock alternative" , I specifically heard silverchair and puddle of mudd lol. Just really takes you out of the experience. And my lady said she saw one of the food runners scratching their behind in the server alley 🙃. I'd give this place another shot but yeah not ideal.

Loud and popular sports bar across the street from the Keswick Theater The room is large and comfortable. We arrived 15 minutes early for our 6 PM reservation and were not able to be seated until 6 PM. The Fried Pickles exceeded expectations. The cocktails were good. The service was attentive and efficient - even though every table was occupied.

Pros: Conveniently located right across from the Keswick Theatre--perfect for a quick bite before a show. It's clearly a neighborhood favorite because it was packed. The bar area was quite large and it appears in the warmer weather that one of the exterior walls retracts. Our server, Rachael, was wonderful: friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. The drink menu included one of my favorite ciders, and the tap lines must be well-maintained because it tasted exactly as it should. The fries were simple but surprisingly good. Cons: Unfortunately, the food itself really missed the mark. The fried pickles were unlike any we've had--and we order them often. They were overloaded with greasy batter that tasted more like a donut than a savory appetizer. The wings were another disappointment. We love wings and usually finish an order easily, but these had an overwhelming vinegar flavor that made them tough to eat. We ended up leaving almost half the order. Overall: The standout of the entire visit was the service. If we could sit in Rachael's section again, we might consider giving the place a second chance--but strictly for the service, not the food.

I came to Roosters in Glenside yesterday with my husband for lunch to celebrate my birthday, and wow -- what an amazing experience! We ordered the Honeycrisp Apple Salad, and my goodness, was it delicious. We added grilled chicken as our protein, and every bite was packed with flavor -- from the creamy goat cheese to the roasted pecans and sweet Craisins, it was just perfection. I honestly couldn't get enough of it and think I've found my new obsession! I also ordered a beer, which came in an ice-cold frosty pint glass -- such a great touch. This place is no joke. I'll definitely be coming back for a game and more of that incredible salad!

It was packed for the soft opening weekend. Great place to watch the Eagles game. Cool oval bar with a nice bar area. There's also a full restaurant. We popped in before seeing a show at the Keswick theater. It was perfect. We definitely want to go back and try the food but were crunched for time before the show so only got drinks. The drinks are incredibly strong. The old fashioned was like drinking bourbon on the rocks.

This is a popular location as it's right across the street from Keswick Theater and a fresh look at pup food. We tried to visit another time without success due to how busy it was. It has a large horseshoe shaped bar and tables along the side along with a quieter area towards the back. It was pretty active and would be difficult for some to eat near the bar due to volume. The menu has a broad set of options and we tried several. They have some nice beers on tap as well. We started with the beer battered cheese curds and wings. The cheese curds were light and fluffy and fun to eat. The wings were crispy and flavorful. They were done well and came out of the kitchen quickly after our order was placed. For mains I had the shrimp and grits. It was quite tasty. It had a nice selection of andouille and shrimp strategically placed on a bed of whipped grits. We also had the Roosters double burger. I didn't get to taste it but it did look delicious! Our server was very pleasant but quite busy. She was not able to get to us very often. The layout of the restaurant does add to that as the back room is out of sight from the rest of the restaurant. It was a good experience and I would certainly go and try some other menu items.

Went midday. Small menu that allows them to focus on really good and unique dishes. We got the olive ricotta and sourdough appetizer. Followed with cheesesteak poutine and turkey/melted Brie with apple slaw sandwich. Very good. Can't comment on atmosphere or service since it was a midday on a weekday. We will go back.

Had brunch here with a friend recently and had high hopes. We were both disappointed. What is it with Glenside's restaurants not understanding what flavor is or how to cook food to the most basic of standards? Also, a brunch place that doesn't offer lattes? Sub-par diner food at fancy brunch spot prices. Total rip off.

Service was a little slow, but it was Eagles game day, and we had a party of 14. Our server was great, and the food was plentiful. When I remembered to take the pic, I had already eaten the drumstick and thigh. LOL!!

Awesome new spot in Glenside. Super friendly staff. LOVE the habanero salt and honey sriracha wings - crispy on the outside but juicy and tender on the inside. Perfectly cooked! My friend ordered the cheesesteak and loved it. Perfect size - filling but not ridic. My fav item on the menu thus far is the French onion soup. Too many places add SO much salt, that it's inedible - but not here. Flavorful, broth is amazing, and lots of caramelized onions and Gruyère cheese. Not an extensive cocktail menu; but the espresso martini and cosmo were a hit, in fact cosmo seems to be a crowd favorite. I wasn't impressed with the Cadillac margarita - and I ordered it twice with two different bartenders - seemed watered down. That said, I look forward to trying other dishes on the menu. Cheers!

I stopped by with a friend after a show at the Keswick Theater and ordered the double cheeseburger and fries with a Diet Coke and a side of habanero wings to share. The server was nice and attentive, bringing refills on my soda. The ambiance was lively, and the music was a bit on the loud side, but we quickly settled in and could hear each other talking just fine! The burger comprised two smallish beef patties, each one with a slice of American cheese, and it was absolutely delicious. The fries were also very good. The chicken wings tasted more of salt than habanero and had little discernable spice to them, unfortunately. Maybe I'd try the buffalo wings next time, but otherwise a good experience and a fun time!

Stopped in shortly after they opened on a Saturday afternoon. The bar and restaurant were full of patrons. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks. The bartenders were friendly and attentive. All of the food that we saw coming out of the kitchen looked very good. We didn't eat that time around, but we'll return again soon. I'll update my review once we do. Happy to see a new business in the community.

was at the rooster last night and my waitress Kate Nolen she was one of the kindest sweetest most generous waitress I've ever had. She was so attentive to us and always made sure we were comfortable and got us everything that we needed.. I highly recommend if you go that you have her as your waitress

I went to roosters for the first time for lunch yesterday and really enjoyed it! I'm already a fan of some of this restaurant groups, other restaurants so I was expecting to like this as well. We started off with the cheese curds and deviled eggs, which were both delicious. I got the turkey and brie sandwich, which was good, but maybe a little bit bland. The fries were also really tasty. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I am excited to come back for dinner.

They roll scrapple in cornstarch before they fry it! It comes out yellow and sitting in grease. The bacon was cold and also felt like it had been left sitting in grease. The English muffin was cold and felt like it had not been toasted at all. I tipped because the waitstaff were friendly, quick and tried to resolve the scrapple problem. They seemed embarrassed that the chef's response was," That's the way we do it here." They offered to switch for bacon but when I saw it was cold in a congealed layer of grease, I paid and left.

Kate was our server and she did an amazing job. I couldn't have been more happy with the food our our service.

3 strikes your out!!! Well I visited roosters 3 times and after the first visit, downhill all the way. Visit one: good, cheesesteak was good as was the service. Visit two: ordered cheesesteak and lots of fat in it and service was sub par, not attentive at all. Visit three: thought well maybe last visit was just a mishap, well it was very bad. I had to get waitress 3 times and I specifically asked her to bring salad first but she brought it with sandwich. Food was not hot at all and here is the best, someone and I think it was the waitress under the tip section added a 1next to the 5.00 dollars making it a 15.00 tip and bill increased by 10.00 dollars. We called three times only to be told a Robert would call back but never did. Then to actually say in the last call: "let me check receipts to see what you signed for". Hmmm isn't that why I called in the first place since I signed for one amount and you charged my credit card 10.00 more?? Sounds totally lame. I checked credit card only to find out the gave us back the 10.00 with no apology or even a phone call. Moral of the story, CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!! We will not be going back, real shady business.

We had a great time here and a big plus was an awesome cheese curd appetizer and double burger &fries!! Definitely coming back!

It was our 3rd dinner at Rooster's and we were not disappointed. The salmon BLT is delicious with just the right amount of spice and if you like oysters the Oysters Rockefeller are amazing. We always have great service, but a special shout out to Dave our waiter who bought our son his drink for his 21st birthday'

Wings dope and beer fresh. It's ok to like good things. Go birds support the troops... and kids do your chores!!

Our first experience eating at the restaurant was mediocre. But this review is about our most recent takeout order. Food was ready quickly. The wings were very dry and chalky and the house sauce was watery and didn't taste like much of anything. The spicy chicken sandwich was not spicy at all, a bit dry and appeared to contain some kind of cheese even though the menu mentioned nothing about cheese. The buttermilk fried chicken was ok, and actually had a spice to it that made it hotter than the spicy chicken sandwich. French onion soup was also not so great. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good and the fries traveled well and were pretty tasty. May give it 6 months to a year and try again but overall not impressed.

So excited to have Roosters in our neighborhood. We had lunch this past weekend and the service was wonderful and the food was equally good! We were a party of seven and everyone agreed that this will be our go to in the area!

I had the Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich and it was ok. The soda I had was also cold. The service was good. Cleanliness was clean. The atmosphere was busy. Nothing special.

Wow, first time trying since they opened, and the food was so Good! The food was delicious and you definitely get plenty. Our table had an array of items from the menu and everything was very good from drinks, to apps, to dinner, to dessert!. We sat in the back and was worried for a second, but they do have a TV so we were able to still watch the game. Plenty of seating, and service was very friendly!

The service was excellent. I hate to add this but the food was absolutely terrible French onion soup was unbeatable. The salmon was way over cooked along with thee driest chicken wing ever. But again the waitress was very attentive

Whether you sit at the bar or at a table, you will be lucky if you get a drink within 10 minutes! And no this is not based on one visit, this is based on over a half a dozen visits. At the bar the "bartenders" will go out of their way to avoid eye contact. And if you get a table it isn't any better, as the last time a few of us went for brunch we had no salt & pepper, no ketchup for fries, no spoons with coffee & as usual drinks took forever to get from the bar:( Several non-alcoholic drinks never even made it to the table! And while the food is good, a couple of the plates were missing food items that were specifically requested ‍ Like usually sausage omelettes contain sausage ‍ But the location is excellent with all the after-show business from the theatre across the street, so they got that going for them If you own the place or work there, perhaps you should review this with the "manager";)

Went foe lunch 1 pm Restaurant full Ambiance friendly and welcoming. I had pork with mac n cheese and candied onions. It was fantastic The soup of the day was potato with leeks also wonderful I wanted to lick the bowl. Our waitress was Paige She was so helpful and explained what dishes were that we were not familiar with. We were 6 the others had wings turkey and brie sandwich Salmon and bacon sandwich and bloody Mary cocktails as well as beer All were very pleased. Go and enjoy

The creative menu and the quality of the food is outstanding! The atmosphere is perfect for a pre-concert dinner with friends!

We've gone to Rooster's three times so far, one visit was a week after opening, so we understood there might be issues. The menu is a bit limited for our tastes, and we were not at all pleased with our meals. Our waiter was excellent and accommodating, but the food missed the mark. Second visit was only a bit better. Our food was overcooked and one item was barely cooked. My granddaughter ordered a bacon burger with no cheese and it arrived with cheese. We had to send it back due to her allergy. Our third visit was just ok, again food was overcooked and dry. We really want to be regulars at Rooster's as we were Keswick Tavern regulars for twenty years and it's only a five minute walk from our home. Hopefully the owners will put the right folks in the kitchen and add menu items that are more amenable to patrons. I should also mention it is very loud in the place.

Got the fried chicken meal, the fried chicken was pretty burnt and lacking seasoning. The mashed potatoes that came with it were lukewarm and the gravy was very carrot forward and not rich and savory like you'd expect. The fried cheese curds were very good though. Our server seemed to be a little careless and inexperienced. Never got drinks refilled and all three of us were done our drinks before the entree came out

I was so excited to try Roosters, and I was not disappointed! There was a good noise level, The wings were delicious, and the smoked turkey with brie was excellent. Our server, Zae, was extremely attentive and ensured we had everything we needed for a great dining experience. By far, the best server we've encountered while dining out!

Stopped in last night before a show at the Keswick theater. The turkey and Brie sandwich was on point and so was the spicy chicken sandwich. Service was excellent. Only three clams served as an appetizer. I thought it was not enough considering the price. But other than that, I thought it was a great place will definitely be back.
