We had our wedding here July 19th and it was the absolute best wedding ever! The staff were amazing and the way they were there for us was perfect. The FOOD was perfection to where I still have people talking about it. We recommend this place to anyone that wants the wedding of a lifetime

Easiest 5 star review! From my first conversation with Nicole at the Roostertail I KNEW this was where I wanted to get married. First my husband and I had a phone call conversation about pricing and what the Roostertail had to offer and I was immediately sold. She did not hide any costs and was extremely transparent about the entire wedding package. We had our ceremony outside on the side patio, GORGEOUS, and our reception on the main level, in the Marine room. Everything was set up beautifully and communication with the staff before, during and after the event was immaculate. Huge shout out to Shawna!! Who listened to me and my guests, went out of her way to make sure we were all comfortable and that my decor looked even better than I could have imagined. The staff truly took the reins when it came to coordinating the day, not only within the building but with my vendors as well! We had multiple phone calls (which they were so flexible with! Given our work schedules) and each time they eased my mind about the biggest day of my life! I could not be more impressed with the staff at the Roostertail and their gorgeous venue. Even the owner made an appearance at my wedding and spoke of the amazing history of the venue (which was a huge plus when we booked)! Nicole, Colleen, Shawna, and the rest of the staff I had the pleasure to work with THANK. YOU. From the bottom of my heart. I will forever be grateful to you and will sing your praises until the end of time.

Nicole, Colleen, and Ava get all the hugs from me! My husband and I had visited the Roostertail as our first in person tour and I knew once I saw the Palm River room I had to have my wedding reception in it. One and done! Mind you we toured in January when the Detroit river surrounding was all still ice. You can tell the beauty of this place even in the winter. Nicole and Colleen were beyond helpful with all of my questions, every text I sent was responded to within an hour and all the meetings with them both really helped solidify information and answered questions. Nicole is the best coordinator ever. She literally has the best personality for this job and this venue. She’s so sweet and helpful and bubbly and considerate, I’m really really happy I got to work with her. Shout out to Ava too for making my ramen bar happen, myself and all of the guests LOVED it. All the staff at the Roostertail are so helpful and it’s just a great location. My wedding guests even said Becky at the bar was great too. Along the water, beautiful architecture, pretty lights, and wonderful staff, the Roostertail has it all. Don’t wait to book with them, you won’t regret it! The Roostertail is pricey, but you’re definitely paying for the beautiful location and the top knotch service. Book early to get your payment plans all set up! Also, the food was great, we picked top sirloin and the chicken with mashed potatoes and corn! So good! Shout out to the chefs! You guys all rock! We went for Havana Nights and had a blast!! Food truck food was on point. I had arroz con pollo and that Maltie hit the spot! Great food excellent music. Would highly recommend and would go again!

What a beautiful even this weekend! Parking staff was nice & professional. The food was good, loved the multiple patios & concert style vibes outside. I love being by the water & anticipate this event. Thanks for a great time 🤍🤍

Bravo!! 👏🏼 Roostertail and everyone involved went above and beyond for our Employee party! Nicole, our main coordinator, was amazing and you can tell she thoroughly enjoys her job shown by her positivity and enthusiasm. We have been planning together since July and she always was quick to respond and manage all of our needs. The day of the party, Nicole always checked up on us and stayed until the end making sure everything was perfect! We also got to meet the owner and his son who were very welcoming and thankful. We met Chef, in which the food he prepared was so tasty and cooked to perfection! To our surprise, they had their beautiful water feature turned on that is seen through windows surrounding the DJ stage. It was a wonderful display and all our guests loved it! Lastly, the woman’s bathroom is a site to see on its own!! All the woman were taking pics/selfies in there all night! I would highly recommend Roostertail to anyone looking for a class act venue with a one of a kind location right on the Detroit River!

What an amazing venue! The staff was impeccable. The views delectable. The food beyond compare. I had a great time as a guest at a wedding. The one thing I want to bring up: they use the same glasses for non-alcoholic drinks as they use for alcoholic drinks. So two times during the night I grabbed one of my younger cousins' drinks and took a sip just to make sure it was only cola and not something else mixed in there. There wasn't anything else in there. But I had to make sure, you know. Maybe use different vessels for non-alcoholic drinks so they can be easily distinguished?

We had our wedding 8.30.24 at the Roostertail, and it was the most amazing experience! Every detail was taken care of by the staff. Shawna, our coordinator from the Roostertail, was so exceptional to work with. I didn’t have to worry about anything. I had literally more than a dozen people tell me it was the best wedding they had ever been to. I highly and emphatically recommend the Roostertail for any event!

I recently attended 2 party's here. This is definitely the nicest place to attend an event In Detroit! Yes the river views and sunset were amazing, but the food, the staff were even more incredible! They had a wide variety of delicious hor duerves, food stations with sliced meats, desert stations, full bar & any drink you can create!! They had photo shoots, live music on the main stage & a DJ upstairs!! Apparently the same family has run this premiere event space for 67 years & tons of famous people have been here. I learned that you can smaller events like weddings too. I went for a friend's company party & also atted a girlfriend's party! I wish I was invited to every party here! The food is Soo good!! And it's fun! There's an outside area when you get too hot from dancing, and did I mention all of the desserts!!! It's like Willy wonka!! Tons of cool displays, moving around its really unlike anything I've seen in the US.. it's the closest thing to heaven! If you have a wedding, or to plan a work party, or want to do a cool event for people, this is the spot!

Celebrated my 70th Birthday at the Roostertail. Everything was top-notch...the food, the service, and the Vibe! My event coordinator, Nicole, was there to make sure that everything was beyond my expectations!!!! I couldn't been happier with the outcome. It was magical. If you are planning a party, celebration, or a special event....please consider the Roostertail as your number 1 choice. Arlene

I had my 70th birthday party at the Roostertail October 5th, Nicole Spicuzza and her staff were outstanding. The venue was beautiful, all my guest loved it. I would definitely have another event there.

Edited after gathering more information. We attended the Havana Nights event at this venue. I will point out the good and bad of the venue itself and not the event. Parking - The event had to 'rent' parking, which arranged to charged attendees $15 per car. This notice was blasted to the attendees three times in the week prior to the event. At arrival, the VENUE charged $20 per car and told us " It is what it is, turn around and take it up with the organizer or pay the $20." This set a very poor tone to start the evening and come to find out, was completely the owner's decision to up the price on the attendees. We had arrived early and had exact bills for payment, as requested. The venue's parking attendants were very rude and didn't want to hear any questioning to the higher price. *after gathering more information about what happened, we were clearly ripped off by the venue in a money grab for parking revenue that the event secured separately. Facilities - The venue is beautiful though a bit dated and the air conditioning was cold, which was perfect for such a hot muggy evening. Great views of the river, amazing floating dock that was actually on the river with another DJ and dance floor. The outside patios were nicely shaded and plenty of room for dancing. The cigar patio was perfectly distanced from the dance floors but still offered great view of the river. My suggestion is to have mobile bars available on the main floor with proper setup for beverages - bartenders have to use tables and two liters which does not make for a classy event in any case. All in all a fine venue if the owner wasn't super shady. Personally, I will not consider this venue for any of my future events, however, at least I will know what we are walking into if we visit the Roostertail again. I won't park there, though.

We hosted our "In the Clouds" Prom at the Roostertail this year. From start to finish, Nicole worked with our staff every step of the way. She was extremely responsive and truly helped us make this Prom dream a reality for the Class of 2024. On the day of Prom, every single staff member there went above and beyond. They understood our theme and made sure to decorate the event space accordingly...from the blue tablecloths, to the bubbles, to the haze, to the blue and white trees, and hanging ceiling decor, it truly felt like we were in the clouds. The Roostertail blew us away with various surprises throughout the night that made the Prom an unforgettable one. The food, snacks, and desserts were talked about by all the students well after Prom was over. We can't say enough about everyone at Roostertail for making this Prom the best one yet!

Always a great atmosphere here! Very classy and elegant. Food is always good. Staff is always warm and welcoming. I love coming to events here

Rooster tail is such a beautiful venue! As a guest this building is beautiful to see for the first time. Lots of options with the balcony & ballroom. The best part in my opinion though is the incredible views of the lake St Clair. The staff were super friendly and helpful throughout the birthday party. The birthday and guests were overly happy with this venue. Looking forward to coming back here again. Thank you to Mike & Ava (the owners). You are the best! Best birthday party ever!

This is a review of the Havana Nights fundraiser for the Detroit Belle Isle Boathouse. It seems to be an annual event. The Roostertail is the perfect place for it. Lots of parking, 3 prices depending on how close to the building you are. I got the closet since the boat club gets a cut. Open space for lots of people and even different levels to spread out based on your level of ticket (I got the cheapest). A few bands or DJs, dance lessons, and even a 360 photo booth gave you other things to do besides drink and smoke cigars. Those with the cheap tickets had a few food trucks to buy a taste of the Caribbean. People selling jewelry, bath and body items, and a wonderful artist selling paintings, shoes and clothing. Just a good place to people watch and see how little some had to wear in public. I just choose to be 1950s classic with a twist. Plan to be back next year since it was fun and help a good cause.

What an excellent venue and experience!!!!! I worked with Nicole and secured the Club Room at the Roostertail for my baby shower (MLK weekend 2023). The contract was clear, the setup was a breeze and they worked with us when we thought that we would have to delay the event due to an unforeseen medical emergency! Excellent service! As for the event itself, the decor they provided was absolutely beautiful. I highly suggest the Club Room for an intimate space with gorgeous sunlit views! The food was INCREDIBLE. Everyone raved about the chicken, chef did his thing! Literally no complaints from beginning to end. We were able to share our prepared photo slideshow and our baby shower music playlist over the speakers. The bartender (non alcoholic) was very nice and we had space for a gorgeous candy table. Just an amazing experience we will never forget. Many thanks to the staff at Roostertail and Nicole for an unforgettable experience!

Once you get passed the dated decor and the bird sh%t all over the windows overlooking the Detroit river, you'll see this place has potential. Was here for a wedding, and the ceremony was held outside with the river as the backdrop. Gorgeous. Once we were shuffled inside, I thought I was in a Miami Vice episode. I dug the retro theme, but some didn't. And was it retro intentional, or just actually from the late 80's or early 90's? The drinks were strong and the food was acceptable. I would've given them 5 stars if it wasn't for the bird fecal matter all over the windows.

I recently (this past Saturday) attended my nephew's wedding reception at the Roostertail, and I can't say enough about how great the venue and the staff were. Perhaps the most beautiful venue I've ever been to, especially with the views of the riverfront, and the staff was exceptional as well. Special thanks to Shawna and Martin for their hospitality.

Went for a retirement party tonight and it was beautiful. Decor is a bit outdated but the view is amazing. Service was wonderful too and the food was delicious. Simple salad and spinach stuffed chicken entree. Cocktails were nice and unlimited bottled water was a nice touch once we started dancing. Great AV also.

You must hold an event here, especially a wedding or graduation party. The view of the Detroit River is so beautiful here.

I was here a few times, a while ago. It was always the place to have any event, be it a wedding, graduation or any evening event in fact. It was hugely popular for many events sine it's close to GP. It's a fantastic location and offers Great Lake views too. Lots of dance floor space, interior space as well as outside space too. Lots of great photo opp spots.

What a lovely venue! The views of the water are amazing, the lit up water fountain is beautiful, I really like the set-up, and the food is delicious! Particularly, this roast pork dish served with a buttery, sweet apple sauce and Michigan salad. Perfect. The way the stage is set up, the lit up fountain sprays behind it beyond the glass, so it makes for a very nice show. The patio outside is great if you want to escape the party a bit; it's lit with pretty lights and the breeze off the river is really nice. I've been here for several occasions over the years, and it's always been a great time. Plenty of parking, beautiful, spacious bathrooms, lots of space while still feeling intimate. I highly recommend The Roostertail.

The Roosertail is one of the premiere venues for parties and receptions in Detroit. Despite many visits to Detroit, I'd never been there. They did not disappoint. The event consisted of dinner and dancing. We were bused over from our hotel and apparently arrived early. But it was a sunny, temperate day and we were able to step out and catch the breeze off of the Detroit river. Let's talk about the river. The river is why the Roostertail is best restaurant and reception center in Detroit. The hall provides beautiful views of the lake. At dark the fountains appear. Once underway the service was fast. The surf and turf meal was good, not great. And there was a dessert bar from which I found tasty key lime pie. There were some logistical set ups, that slowed things down. But we still had a great time.

What a fantastic venue for events! I've been here quite a few times over the years and it's so great to finally be back to enjoying life! The Roostertail is huge and I love the view of the Detroit River from the various levels. Most recently, I attended the Havana Nights Charity gala and it was spectacular. We danced the night away, smoked a few cigars, drank mojito, lost some money gambling, and met some pretty awesome people. Being such a large space and to accommodate so many people, live entertainment was set up in various areas inside and outside tents. I was also impressed by the amount of bars scattered around the property to accommodate guests. I don't think I've danced that much in such a long time. I can't wait till next year to do it all over again. If you haven't been to a Roostertail event you have been missing out.

What a fantastic place! I had my son's rehearsal dinner there for 50ppl. Nicole was excellent from the beginning. The Club Room was just as promised on every detail. The staff was discreet, yet met every need. The Roostertail just finished a remodel and was gorgeous. Accents were fresh and very classy. Our guests felt very safe in the parking lot, well lit, plenty of spaces - and free! I will definitely be back for my next event!

The Father's Day Luncheon/event was outstanding as well as the food. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive to our wants and needs. This is an excellent location to have your affair.

Nicor, the staff, and the venue were amazing!!! We received so many compliments on the execution of the wedding, the service, and how incred the venue was. Top notch service, not just from the staff, but from Nicole who helped our dream wedding come to fruition. It is THE spot for any major event. The staff is professional and they attend to your every need to ensure that your event is handled properly. The only drawback is the food. It's horrible. There is no other way to describe it. I wish they could change that one flaw. It seems to have gotten worse through the years. Other than that, the Roostertail is the best in the area.

Glad we chose to trust RoosterTail for our class graduation dinner/party. Nicole & the RoosterTail staff made our event flawless from setup to closing out the night. The space itself was designed perfectly for our group size. Nicole made every effort to ensure the event was moving along as planned. She also communicated with our vendor to ensure he was on the same page. The event was simply beautiful. A good amount of our guests had never been to this venue so it was great to have such a nice space with a beautiful, natural backdrop in the lake then to add on beautiful lighting. I got so many compliments from my classmates and guests about how great it turned out.

The RoosterTail management team and staff were very patient, professional, and extremely accommodating to me (as one of the family organizers) at ALL planning stages of our Love One's Repast on Feb 21, 2023 and resulted in an overall Class-A experience for the Davis, Lloyd & Anderson- family and friends! This was my first experience at the RoosterTail which became a great and lasting one. We were lucky enough to have the marine room with the side patio for our special occasion. The location, view and atmosphere was absolutely amazing! If you're looking for a properly planned and executed wedding venue along with a highly motivated staff I highly recommend the Roostertail.

I recently attended a party at the Roostertail. I had no idea this place existed, but it's a pretty cool venue. The employees really made it an excellent night out, from the valets to the servers (shoutout to Denise!). Everyone was welcoming. The food and drinks were great, and the decorations were perfectly festive.

The Father's Day event was awesome. The host, the service,food and the music / entertainment was outstanding. We definitely enjoyed ourselves. Would definitely attend more of The Dads Speak events.

It's weird that you could live so close to a place for over 3 years and have no idea about it. Right next to a marina, Roostertail hosted this year's Metro Times best of Detroit party. Metro Times gave a few free tickets to yelp elite members and luckily I was among the one chosen. My first yelp event! For public, $35 general admission came w free food and 5 drink tickets and $55 for VIP tickets which comes w perks and more drinks. The venue was quite large, enough to hold at least 300 people in the small outdoor and 2 party areas. Numerous large windows and patio area on 2nd floor were ideal to enjoy the river view and the venue location is quite ideal for watching the boat show. The event was a great success with the venue at near max capacity. There were 20 + restaurants provided food for the event, each with their own booth. I came with a large appetite and determination to sample all the food. It was A LOT, but thankfully, I can eat. The wait staff at roostertail was pretty efficient. But, they got pretty overwhelmed when the party started hitting its stride and empty plates and food scraps started piling up on the tables and garbage areas. The bartenders made a decently strong drinks and there were a few to minimize lines. The band and dj did a good job to keep the party fun and lively and with drinks and food flowing, it got better as night went on. Food ranged from almost inedible to good. Some were fairly delicious. It was evident food quality suffered from prolonged warming of the food, some(like fried food) more than others. So, it wouldn't be fair to judge the restaurants based on the food I sampled. Or to base rating of roostertail on food. So, I will just talk briefly about more memorable food I sampled. Brome: lobster cake slider mostly tasted of tartar sauce and taste of lobster was absent. Fried chicken slider wasn't crispy and chicken pieces were too large. Buns weren't the greatest. I reviewed this restaurant before not so favorably, so I wasn't surprised. Mr. Miguel: I actually really enjoyed their nachos. Their queso and pica de gallo paired well to bring a refreshing and cheesy bite. Good menu choice for the event since these keep well. Nomad grill: flank steak wasn't very well seasoned and a bit tough, but mango salsa was quite well done to mask the dish's flaw. Corn tortilla was a bit mealy. Novi chophouse: why they put coney chili on steak bruschetta, I have no idea. Overpowered taste of tenderloin completely. Beans and cornbread: I enjoyed their collard greens. It had a good flavor and a kick with a decent texture. Would have liked more of a bite on the greens. The fried catfish may have been good once, but it was dry and the breading was soggy. Aventura: good finger foods. Caprese has a nice flavor and fun to eat. Would have liked heirloom mini tomatoes on the caprese tho. American Coney Island: good as always. There was another Coney Island called national that I couldn't get past 2 bites. Kahiki foods: i don't remember if I've ever had frozen egg rolls, but after eating theirs, I will most likely never buy one.

Came here to witness a beautiful wedding. It was outdoor, hot, humid, and then rain poured down right before the ceremony started. The workers worked hard to wipe down all the seats. The indoor area was nice too, bar service was fast. The food was horrible though, but it's hard to make the same dish for hundreds of people. Salmon was dry. Chicken was not good. The venue was gorgeous with your own mini Bellagio water show and a stage that rises?! Staff were all very courteous and it was a great wedding choice, minus the food!

Pretty cool place near the marina, nice decent and friendly staff with some amazing food options. The food was delicious and the service was good, they have different sections and depending on the occasion the place can be set in a very nice way. I would definitely recommend this place.

Amazing venue... the view of the water is stunning and so unique for a wedding venue. The venue itself has all of the little details that made our wedding spectacular- epic view of the water, delicious food (get the chicken), tv screens for slideshows, fancy/ spacious bathrooms, many cute photo spots for guests, beautiful fountains, and a rising dance floor. My guests loved little details like the AC vents right near the dance floor to keep it cool. The staff was attentive and did all the heavy lifting. They even gather up your stuff after to make sure you don't leave anything. We had to reschedule our wedding due to COVID and Roostertail was kind and accommodating. Nicole was super helpful and made sure the wedding Day what exactly what we wanted it to be. Thank you Roostertail!

I really enjoyed myself at the best of metro Detroit party! The dj upstairs was awesome, food delicious, and drinks good. I usually have a nice time at the rooster tail no matter what function I'm attending there. It's always clean inside and out.

Shawna MADE MY WEDDING EPIC. GO WITH HER. I had my wedding here in the clubroom... at first they had 3 different wedding planners for me! I ended up having Shawna... which ended up being the BEST one! Her experience really shined. So I was never exactly sure what the role of the wedding planner was until the day of my wedding.... I can't have to say enough how she caterered ro every detail....everything I needed. for instance my cake was late!!! they had a backup cake in the back just in case!!! That really impressed me. For ANY EVENT ONLY ASK FOR SHAWNA... TRUST ME FROM EXPERIENCE.... It wont be a Roostertail event unless your there with Shawna making it AMAZING!!!!! I even was able to go in a separate room and get away from everybody and everything to regroup in my wedding planners office.. "Shawna" I had to do a secret dress change and while everybody was eating dinner she helped me with my hair and help me slide into my second dress for the night she almost played the role of a maid of honor wich i wish she was...and made sure I had powder on my nose and my Curls were in place. She made me feel so comfortable I don't drink but when I do I drink RumChata so she gave me a coffee and I was able to use my special drink as a creamer that somebody went to go get just for ME!!! Talk about customer service. The communication back and forth prior to the wedding wasn't great but once I arrived it was almost as if the storm calmed....SHE went above and beyond to make sure the bride or the one whos event it is....can enjoy their EVENT or wedding and not stress about anything!!!! Like I was saying my wedding was held in the club room is the smallest room but absolutely beautiful there's a balcony that sits off the side that we had our buffet in into patio tables in case some of the guys wanted to smoke me and my husband are both smokers yes I know it's bad but that just made my wedding perfect not having to go outside in the freezing snow and ruine my makeup just to have a cigarette.... they provided me with two heaters and the outside patio and frequently made sure the food was warm. She took my cake in the back and cut it up and served it to everyone for no additional cost. Shawna is one of the best planners on Earth!!!! I was skeptical at First with her go to attitude but in the end I would not have picked anybody else she's been there for over 15 years and knows what she's talking about so to Erica who left me without notice and sent me an email to basically break up with me and my wedding thank you because I DON'T WANT YOU ANYWAYS. Thank you Roostertail for making me and my guests has the most memorable wedding in life.!... and its all because of Shawna. Thank you girl!!!

My husband & I had our wedding end of September at the Roostertail. We had originally planned for a destination wedding but had to cancel that due to the pandemic. We had to quickly find a venue. My husband had reached out to the staff at Roostertail, specifically Nicole to get a quote. During the stages of choosing a venue, Nicole was the only wedding coordinator that continued to reach out to us, willing to make our vision work with our budget. Once we decided to go with the Roostertail, we had to plan our wedding in 3 months. Nicole did an AMAZING job keeping us up to date on the latest news, how to keep our guest safe & really kept us organized with our wedding planning. She listened to our wishes & made it all happen. We really wanted a tropical style wedding, & she made that dream come to life. With little details such as palm trees next to our sweet heart table on the beautiful gazebo surrounded by water, the food being delicious & matching our theme (kabobs, coconut rice, & a banana pie), the beautiful blue & champagne table linens. It was SUCH a beautiful day & the beauty of the gazebo at the Roostertail enhanced it that much more. So happy we decided to go with the Roostertail. They made our dream "tropical style destination" wedding come true. Forever grateful!!! Would highly recommend. Nicole you were the BEST!!!

Nicole and the entire event staff are rockstars! From our first tour of the venue to our last dance Nicole took such special care of us. You would honestly think that we were old friends. Everyone was kind, patient and accommodating. On the day of my wedding - the staff was ready to go and super excited for us. it was also amazing to meet the owner on our special day. The Roostertail is in the wedding business for a reason, they get it done. =)

We got married in the Club Room at the Roostertail in October 2021, and everything about our experience with this venue, staff, event planers was PERFECT. Nicole was our day-of coordinator, and she was so helpful over the entire course of wedding planning. From the moment I first reached out to the venue, she was on the phone with me that afternoon with a package totally tailored to us and our wedding vibe, and I could tell she truly cared about delivering us the best day ever. AND Roostertail makes planning and personalizing your wedding package super super easy. That kind of care eliminated sooo much stress during the planning process...and even on a hectic wedding prep morning, we never doubted everything at the venue was under control & would turn out beautifully. Our wedding was just over 2 months ago now, and we're STILL getting stellar feedback from our guests about how much fun they had, how amazing the food was (we did cocktail style instead of plated sit-down dinner, and it was just *chef's kiss,* and so filling), how attentive/professional/friendly the staff were, and how beautiful the location was. Literally, our wedding day would have gone so differently if we got married anywhere else, so I'm endlessly grateful we made the decision to put our day in the Roostertail team's hands.

I attended a conference here on the second floor with a handicapped friend. Noticing he is handicapped, one of the staff graciously offered to let us ride the elevator to the first floor. I appreciated this employee's consideration and kindness. On that gesture alone I am tempted to give a five star rating. I have to give the Roostertail a one star rating because what I saw in the back of the house was so alarming. In a word, it was filthy. Standing puddles of water on the floor. Dirty dishes strewn throughout the kitchen. I was so appalled by the lack of cleanliness that I would never eat at this place. I wouldn't even drink a glass of their water because I'm not sure that glass would be clean. Health Department: inspect the Roostertail...STAT!!!

We had our corporate holiday party at the Roostertail and they were AMAZING! Nicole and the staff were so courteous and on-top of everything all night, they provided so many extra special touches for our group. Nicole was so accommodating with our requests and helped make everything feel safe considering COVID conditions. The venue was setup beautifully with the centerpieces and decorations they provided and the food was delicious! The steaks were cooked perfect for everyone - which is hard to do for large groups! Every employee complimented what a great venue/location it was! Highly recommend this venue for corporate or any large events!

We selected the Roostertail to host a corporate event for about 230 people. From the day we were looking for a venue until the day of the event, the staff at the Roostertail was top notch. They were willing to work within our budget and made sure we had everything we needed. The food is amazing and there was something for everyone no matter the dietary restrictions/preferences. Every little detail had been thought out from start to finish. They go all out with the décor - our guests were blown away when they walked into the room! I worked with Nicole D'Onofrio for our event and she was amazing. She made sure I had nothing to stress about, and that was so appreciated. This was the best venue I've ever worked with and I would definitely book another event at the Roostertail - hands down. If you're wondering whether or not you should book the Roostertail, do it. Trust me!

Outstanding ownership, Tom Schoenith & family. Exceptional management, staff and venue. There literally is no place like the Roostertail. From a wedding party, retirement to any corporate function, this legendary location has no equal. Lastly, the ambience is jaw-dropping.

My sister got married here in July of 2015 and our experience was phenomenal! Justin was her wedding coordinator and he went above and beyond to make sure she had the wedding of her dreams. I was mind blown by how involved he was with everything and how he was genuinely excited for her big day! I was the maid of honor and in order to take some stress away from my sister, Justin made sure that everything went through me. He even went as far as setting up the center pieces himself because the florist we went through was AWFUL and just dropped the flowers off at the door. She was supposed to have rose petals scattered down the pavilion and the flowers that the florist delivered were boxed up and ended up turning brown. Luckily, Justin jazzed up the pavilion so that no one, even my sister, noticed that the rose petals were missing! He made sure that everyone was having a blast during the entire wedding and reception. He even threw in a surprise dessert table that was decorated BEAUTIFULY. I cannot say enough good things about Justin. If you are interested in getting married here, which I highly recommend... GET JUSTIN!!

If this review were completely about personal preference, I would probably just give this two stars because it's a bit too "catered event" for my taste. At the same time, I realize that the Roostertail is stunning and has lots of experience catering weddings and proms so they would work well with people who want this sort of aesthetic. I went here a few years ago when I was engaged to the wrong dude and checking out locations for the wedding and reception. I really wanted to do something beautiful by the water and the internet led me to the Roostertail. I scheduled a date for a facility tour and a hostess showed us around. It looks like your standard upscale reception hall, but with an edge because the view of the water is amazing. There are floor to ceiling windows. They can even offer fireworks overlooking the lake! However, the Roostertail reminds me of my boyfriend's description of the five star hotel he has to stay in when he commutes -- it looks amazing and beautiful, but it makes him want to gauge his eyes out at the same time because it's so sterile and typical. For me, the menu leaves something to be desired because it is all the usual meals that you have had a million times before at a million other weddings -- filet mignon, some sort of salad, a fancy chicken. If you enjoy that sort of cuisine then the quality is absolutely first class. Unfortunately, they do not offer anything ethnic. There's no harm in asking, however, if you want the chef to consider a special recipe for your special day. If you want a fail-safe event that's guaranteed to look good and are not interested in doing anything adventurous, then this is a good place to look into. The staff was friendly and informative, and it seemed like they would be willing to work out special requests -- just in case you do want to put a unique twist on your special day. I had inquired about a dove release and they were very accommodating.

As soon as my fiancee stepped into the Roostertail, she fell in love, and after one FaceTime call, so did I. It was a perfect place to have our August 2019 wedding, not just for the views, but for everything else. The staff was very professional, the food was delicious, and it was also so special to be in such a historic Detroit venue. Our planning and the actual reception went so well in large part to the excellent work of our Roostertail coordinator, Amber. Amber was absolutely wonderful: friendly, professional, responsive, and she went above and beyond to accommodate some of our more special requests and ideas. We would 100% recommend the Roostertail, and especially Amber.

Thank you, Roostertail, for the excellent service, the beautiful decorations, the brilliant seating scheme with a view out the windows at the river, the stage and roomy dance floor, (that I personally tried out......many, many times throughout the night! hahahha). It was the perfect setting for the Wedding Reception I attended there recently. I was at the Roostertail in 1974 for a graduation party. The quality of your service was top notch then, and even better now! Thank you!

We had an amazing Vow Renewal at this venue, it's a perfect location, views of the water, friendly staff, food was great. The attention to detail shows Nicole is a pro at what she does. Don't be fooled by the pre room, after it's decorated it's beautiful! We are forever grateful to the Roostertail for making our day a day to remember!!

Nice venue for views but the food and the service was less than expected. When we arrived for a wedding we were one of the first people there and when I went to use the men's room there was an employee shirtless shaving at the sink. Later at the open bar there was a big container of ice and the bartender was haphazardly dipping glass into the ice without using a scoop. the food tasted good but toward the end of the night number of people we're running to the restrooms not feeling well after dinner something was definitely undercooked it could have been the chicken which we really couldn't tell if it was cooked thoroughly or not.

I had a long engagement and searched several other Detroit venues until we found The Roostertail. I'll be honest, we were a little hesitant about it as we ate lunch at Sinbads prior to our appointment with the venue. But, within seconds of walking into the Roostertail we knew immediately this was the place. STUNNING views all around, grand decorations, rising dance floor, and a ceremony location beautifully put outside. Needless to say, we booked! This was all before Covid. Planning for the wedding had its stressful times as Covid presented some unforeseen challenges. The Roostertail was adjusting and adapting by the minute. This meant limited options and a lot of messaging, Zooming, and calling. The last few weeks before our wedding date Bronson and I decided to just give it to the Roostertail and let them do their thing. AND DID THEY!!! We put all of our trust into their recommended food selection of stuffed chicken with boursin cheese and spinach, mashed potatoes with a garlic sauce, green beans and the caesar salad. We never had a food tasting and went unknowingly into our wedding night. Our guests could not stop talking about the food, service, atmosphere, quality, and experience! Several of our guests had previously been to The Roostertail for high school proms or class reunions and had talked very highly of the venue. We knew our night would be magical and full of love with our friends and family. What we did not know was what quality and superior service The Roostertail would give it. Individual tables had personal service and their needs were delivered quickly! Nicole did a very good job as the day of coordinator. She made sure that we were punctual with our timing and we stayed organized to maximize our time with our guests. She made sure that we had everything we needed from a drink in our hand to a pen for our guest book. Our guest made several comments about the service at the Roostertail and how attentive Nicole was. We felt so well taken care of and not a single worry that night. Thank you Roostertail. What was really special about The Roostertail was how well the vendors worked together with Nicole and each other. After giving Nicole their numbers they were able to organize the venue and create the perfect environment and atmosphere for a wedding. This allowed us to focus on the day rather than the little details. The Rustic Root did a PHENOMENAL job with florals and went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us on our day. Lindsey is trustworthy and has such a creative eye! Her and her team created masterpieces for our day!Thank you Lindsay and The Rustic Root!! CCKing has done several events at The Roostertail and was INCREDIBLE with keeping our guests on the dance floor.. didI mention it rises for the first dance?! Tony!! You are the best! Thank you for keeping the party going!! You want to have the best wedding you, your future spouse, and your guest will ever have? Choose The Roostertail as your venue, The Rustic Root for florals, Chocolate Bar cafe for mini desserts, and CC King for DJ. Best day of my life! Thank you ALL!
