Root 81

We are staying near Dingli approx 10 minutes from Rabat. It had been a quiet day by the pool and we booked Root 81 on a whim. I cannot fault anything about the experience. The food is high quality, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and attentive. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've had anywhere let alone Malta. A lovely evening all round.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the stunning views — a beautiful countryside setting perfectly complemented by the breathtaking skyline of Valletta on the horizon. It felt like dining in a postcard, with nature and cityscape merging in harmony. The team at Root 81 truly goes above and beyond to ensure every guest has a memorable and delightful experience. It’s clear that each dish is crafted with genuine care and love, and it shows not only in the exquisite flavors but also in the stunning presentation—every plate looked like a work of art. The taste was simply delicious, bursting with freshness and perfectly balanced. What’s even more impressive is how affordable this wonderful dining experience is. The pricing is very friendly, making every euro spent feel completely worth it for the quality and generosity of the meal. The service was impeccable—attentive, warm, and professional—making us feel truly welcomed throughout the evening. All in all, Root 81 offered me the best dinner I have had in Malta. It’s a unique gem where great food, amazing views, and outstanding hospitality come together to create a perfect evening. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit if you want to enjoy exceptional cuisine in a serene setting—you won’t be disappointed!

Amazing food and a lovely experience. I really recommend their tasting menu, which is very delicious and a good price considering you are eating quality food. All of the staff are very accommodating, friendly and great at their job. Well done 💗

It’s located in the prime location aria and that city was for nobles only. The place is called Medina and they use to have a casino only for the nobles. This restaurant has the prime location. With lots of tables and very limited umbrella if it’s sunny ☀️ you won’t and can’t stand the heat. And very limited staff. So that’s why they serve you very slow but they did well. And we do appreciate the outcome. To increase the above 👆🏼 they will definitely have the opportunity to get more audience. Wish them good luck and more of success.

Dinner with amazing view. For me fresh veggies were missing with the main course, but otherwise all was tasty. Can recommend.

The food was absolutely divine. Amazing cocktails especially the pink gin cotswalds one. Nice atmosphere and great service. Definitly will return.

It was truly a gastronomic experience of the finest kind... The food was exquisite, the service impeccable... Really enjoyed our evening... We Will surely be back.

Amazing place to taste good food. Excellent menu, amazing food. Service is out-of-space! Friendly and smiling staff. Atmosphere is simple and very cozy. Garden is ok if the weather is 20+ degrees.
