Root Bistro & Bar

Both thumbs up for the lunch menu on the terrace. The Asian inspired 3 course lunch (including fish and mochi) was made from scratch and of good ingredients. Plating was pretty. Portions were on the smaller side. The table was well set with a crisp white cotton tablecloth, napkins and a pretty fresh flower. Hospitality was impeccable and the location central with a nice view of the Museum Island. Definitely recommended and excellent value for money.

We had such a great time, a warm welcome at the door. They took our coats. Showed us our cozy table. The waiters were friendly and humorous. Meal portions are actually decent. Not too small. We were quite full from what we ordered and could hardly finish our dessert. The wine was good👌 Great ambiance, the lighting, mood and sound. It’s just a relaxed place. Well worth a try.

Beautiful location, with a great bar as well as a nice restaurant. The sushi was delicious and great quality. They use real Wasabi, which is rare. Great presentation of the food. Very nice atmosphere.The staff is friendly, fast and professional. I would recommend this place and come back!

This Restaurant was very inviting, stylishly decorated, and chic. The service was excellent and warm-hearted. We were served very attentively and with great friendliness. The food tasted very good. The prices are high, but definitely worth it for what you get.

Went there last weekend and everything was perfect. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, the sushi and dessert were beautifully presented and tasted even better. Also really enjoyed the bar afterwards, great music and crowd. Would go again!

This is situated right next to the monbiju park. It's easy to miss from the street as there's no big sign outside, you have to kno to enter the hotel lobby to find it on the ground floor. The sitting area was big and could accommodate big groups. The food was good, some of them were delicious other weren't as good as they looked. I especially enjoyed the desserts especially the one that had matcha tea. The lamb schanks weren't flavourful enough for me, but the espresso martini was great. The wine menu was huge and had some of the most expensive wines i have seen in berlin. Overall i liked the place would love to visit again someday.

Beautifully decorated and interior designed bar within one of the newest hotels in Mitte, Berlin. It's worth a visit as far as the bar is concerned and the restaurant looks amazing, but I will reserve judgement on that until we eat there. Bar is highly recommended for fantastic drinks and bar menu and fantastic ambience. FURTHER NOTE ON RESTAURANT....Just had an amazing meal at Roots for Christmas Eve. Service was exemplary, as expected. However, the real surprise for me was the quality of the food as it was of a really high quality indeed. I can personally say that the Beef Tartar, Tuna Tartar, Lamb, and the Mousse Chocolate were 10/10. Truly exceptional menu and beautifully balanced dishes throughout. The sushi options were also of a very high quality. The only downside I could find was that they ran out of Ketchup, much to the disdain of both of my daughters! Regardless of this, it was a superb experience with the only caveat being that 8 people spend over €650 and if that's in your budget, this is highly recommended, and it would be hard to find much better anywhere else without looking at Michelin restaurants.....enough said! FURTHER NOTE ON BRUNCH AT ROOT....we came for Brunch, and I had my first cappuccino here and Full English Breakfast in Berlin. The girls had the Steak Frites. First, the cappuccino was very disappointing, although not the worst I have had in Berlin, it was far below the standard I expect from this place. Not a equipment issue, more a lack of experience by whoever was preparing it. The poor cappuccino is emphasised even more because the breakfast and the steam Frites were fantastic. Really nice. Recommended, just avoid the cappuccino if you are a coffee nut like myself. Otherwise, go and enjoy!
