Perfect local brewery located in the Phoenixville food area. are plenty of street side parking or paid parking lot options available. As you enter the brewery you will get a good vibe, and the menu has decent variety of food and brews. The brews are perfect, and the staff also provided a sample per request to try. The Food is perfect; we ordered wings, Loaded wedges and cauliflower bites. Cauliflower bites were perfectly seasoned and very tasty and must try. Potato wedges were perfect and tasty. Wings were perfectly cooked, and I ordered the Hoisin sauce which was not good. The staff is very friendly, and service is too fast. Lot of tables and chairs to sit. Definitely worth visiting this place and don't miss this place.

Great service! Great beer! Great food! Can’t wait to come back!

Google
10/10 experience!! I went on Saturday and the bartender and server were amazing. The nachos were to die for and the beer was also great! I love the vibe of this place and the artwork is incredible!

Google
Horrible service and when I say horrible I mean downright non existent. I had to clear and clean my own table to sit. I had to go to the bar to order my food and wait 15 mins for one of the 4 bartenders to notice I was there (was not busy). Lights were turned all the way up and little kids running around everywhere. Don't come here unless you want to feel like you're drinking in a daycare. Oh and they added a meal to the bill that I didn't order. Maybe the staff trying to get a free meal? Bring back the good music and Kung Fu movies. This place used to be cool.

Google
Huge room with surprisingly decent sound considering being surrounded by concrete walls. Friendly environment, can't attest to much else. Love riffs and listening to them wherever they can be heard.

Google
Always a good time here. Beers are great. Staff and the peeps that go here are so friendly 20 Stars if I could.

Google
On my way to visit my sister in Pottstown we stopped in Phoenixville on the way. I love my craft beer. This place is huge. Love the old look inside. Great atmosphere in a great little town. The beer is excellent and the food was to. Everyone was very friendly. The only negative for me is they don't do flights and because of that they lose a star.

Emily B.

Google
So fantastic. Really. Better than Greyhound. Better than Sutao. and I am just talking about their Vegan options. That's why we went... and we're FLOORED. The beer... another level. Perfectly balanced taste in my IPA and his Stout was great. But I'm writing this as a (vegan) food review and it was flipping amazing. I wish they would sell the popcorn to go...

Yelp
Different Cheesesteak #1263. Special Saturday drinks and cheesesteaks with Amigo Dan. This was a good stop. I wish we had gone here earlier in the day. We had a few drinks, so no sign selfie, but several pictures and videos from inside Root Down. We got a cheesesteak with fried onions. It came with chips. It was a good functional cheesesteak. It was not big and fancy. It was just a well-made everyday cheesesteak. They toasted the roll. The fried onions had a great flavor, but they were lying on top. I wish they were mixed in better. We liked our beers. Nice big space. I loved the decor, thus pictures and videos from inside.

Yelp
Their vegan nachos and burgers are amazing! I always like their stouts and porters. The art on their labels are a fun bonus.

Yelp
Very cool setup. Second time here. This time helping a significant other set up for a local festival and last time for a punk rock flea market. There is another coming up so make sure to check the schedule. Great beverage and food selection. Cool down to earth atmosphere & chill crowd. Definitely worth checking out if in the area.

Yelp
This place never disappoints and is never busy until later! Great food and beer. Just wish they would offer flights of beer and change up the flavors once in a while! Highly recommend!

Yelp
We enjoyed are wings and the service was very pleasant. The beer was excellent we love this place. Never had a bad experience.

Yelp
Great place with good food and awesome beer! We were in the area and decided to stop in. What a find!! We got their 2 Hazy IPAs (Foggy Fresh and Very Galactic) as we couldn't decide ... and they were both awesome! DH ordered the Jerked Chicken Plate ($13) which he said he could have eaten 2 more! And I got a special - Curry Wurst Sandwich ($15) ... which was fantastic!! Not sure anything could have beat this place and we look forward to coming back when we're back in the area!!

Yelp
We absolutely love the food at Root Down. Takeout once or twice a month. Pretty neat beer selections. There is a bubble gum beer that is funky but smooth and tasty. Interesting vibe inside. Lots of cool activists. Bartenders are always fun to speak with. Root Down & TBD are related btw.

Yelp
I don't have a total count on how many breweries in Philly and suburbs, but there are a lot. Roots Down is hands down one of the best ones and one of my favorites. Sometimes I'm lucky and they'd have 3 or 4 IPAs with different sub-styles on tap, but their flagship IPA Bine is delicious! I love their beer so much, not only because they have a large lineup with every style of brews, but the most interesting, innovative, intriguing, impressive beer that always rotate. Let the server know what your preferences or "beer profiles" are, because they will make sure to find a beer that you are looking for, regardless you're looking for from conservative to cutting edge, mild or exciting, they will have something for you. The food is equally innovative, and ever changing. The space is big, but can still get very crowded during weekends. Not a surprise because it's a fun place with great beer and food. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Nice crew, provide good reco on beers. Good beer and flavorful food, unusual for brewers. Prices are also fair.

Yelp
We were in the area and decided to pop in for a bite and some beer. The food menu had a nice selection for a brewery (vegan options are available as well!!) The nachos were fairly standard, nothing crazy special but still solid. The brisket sandwich was definitely the star. The meat was tender and super flavorful. Popcorn as a side was a unique touch! We ordered the kolsch / phos hazy IPA and would order again. No complaints here.
google avatar

Allison B.

Yelp
Great food. Impressive brisket sandwich. Nachos were really yummy too. We like the food especially for a brewery! The vibe is nice but kind of dead on weekdays - not a good weeknight spot if you're trying to have a blast or something. Service is really good and they have awesome special popcorn as a side for their sandwiches. Very cool.

Yelp
Our trip to Root Down started off with us accidentally going to Uncle B's BBQ since we saw a sign outside for Root Down. We finally found the correct location although the brewery is a bit hidden on the street. Upon walking inside, there was a band playing so loud I could barely think straight. We played musical tables, trying to find a table away from the blasting music. We finally found one in the very back of the restaurant. We looked over the menu and drink orders were taken. They had a sour on the menu which is always a favorite. We ended up ordering the vegan Korean tacos, the pork sandwich and the tandoori chicken flatbread. The sandwich and flatbread come with popcorn (due to inflation?!) but we upgraded to potato wedges. The food took a long time to come out. The tandoori chicken was so incredibly spicy, my friend couldn't finish it. She did like it but it needed more yogurt to neutralize the spice. The potato wedges were delicious. The pork sandwich was thoroughly enjoyed. The tacos are not something I would order again. The radishes tasted so weird and overall the tacos were strange. I also thought it was strange to serve Korean tacos with a Spanish type rice (that was very dry) and beans. I do appreciate all the vegan items on the menu though. It took so long for us to get our check that I almost had to go hunt down the waiter. Then we asked for a box for our leftovers but it took our waiter so long that we just left. If I could give it 3.5, I would given that 2 of the 3 meals were good. However, between the blaring music, slow server, food that took forever and strange tacos, I can't give it a higher rating.

Yelp
Stroll down Bridge Street, and you'll find yourself in craft beer heaven. If you ever want to do a bar crawl with more emphasis on the "bar" than the "crawl", Phoenixville is the spot. Root Down is just one of a handful of excellent craft breweries within a mile circumference, but it stands out due to its variety of beer, funky space, and delicious food. I've never had a bad experience at Root Down. The wings, the pizza specials, and the sandwiches are just a few stand-out options. I've never had a bad beer at Root Down, and the variety of tap options has something for everyone. Most recently, I split a Buffalo Chicken Pizza, and sipped on the Cinnaberry Yum Yum sour ale. Pizzas are on the menu on Thursdays and Saturdays, but there's always tons of other food choices should you find yourself there on not a Thursday/ Saturday. Bring your vegetarian friends! They'll have a great time here. Root Down passes the vibe check with hilarious pop art and sprawling space, perfect for social distancing. Catch some Kung Fu on the TV, and don't forget to grab a 4-pack to-go. Staff is chill, and they're truly doing their best with COVID. Come thirsty and be patient, I promise you won't be disappointed.

Josh S.

Yelp
The beer isn't what it was and the food is on the decline. Hands down the worst pizza in Phoenixville. There's nothing really to recommend it anymore.
google avatar

Dann G.

Yelp
Tasty and good. Don't see the hat selling guy anymore, but I cannot decide if that'd be a plus or minus... But still, great beer and atmosphere. Ask for Tony, tell him Glen sent you. My name is Dan, I know neither of these people

Yelp
There was a time when I didn't believe that Phoenixville was a place that could house a brewery named after one of my favorite Beastie Boys songs. But when I passed through Phoenixville and realized that it was brewery haven it made perfect sense, and among all of the ones out there I put Root Down at the top! I only give them four stars now just because during the only times that I've been there was a crowded house in the front and a private party in the back that has prevented me from being able to fully explore it in the time frame that we had. This is definitely a testament to how awesome Root Down is, but it also means that I haven't been able to take in the huge backspace with all of the arcade games and artistic walls as much as I wish I could. It also means that I haven't been able to sit down and savor a full meal of non-seasonal items that aren't currently on the menu. And with items like miso-honey pork belly, lengua tacos, truffle shrimp mac & cheese, and then some; this is very important to me! There's a lot that still needs to be had for me at Root Down which can make for a larger experience that goes beyond stopping in for the drinks that I've had. But what I've experienced in these visits are significant and worthy of a good review in their own right! Root Down holds it down well by providing way more than IPAs and putting emphasis on things like alt biers, stouts, black lagers, smoked beers, fruit-forward wheat beers, and then some. I also adore their can art and names like Salty By Nature (a damn good gose inspired by Naughty By Nature) and Dance Baby Do Acid Vol 2. In the future, I'll come back for that longer visit. But even in small doses Root Down is just that damn good!

Yelp
Was pretty underwhelmed when I received my meal. Looked weak. I was pleasantly surprised. Bacon was crispy and flavorful. Salmon was moist. Tomatoes added great flavor. All in all, a nice sandwich.

Zach H.

Yelp
Great beer, good food, awesome venue! Love it when the punk rock flea market is going on!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, great service, outstanding beer selection. I have eaten here several times, while attending shows and movies at the Colonial Theater. Service has been prompt, polite, and professional. Food is delicious and delivered quickly from the kitchen. Beer lovers will adore the great selection of locally brewed beverages.
google avatar

Tom H.

Yelp
Positive: Great beer Negative: Ordered chicken nachos. When you order chicken nachos for $15 what do you picture? Maybe some grilled chicken? Some shredded chicken? Nope...for $15 dollars you get lunch meat chicken. Yes you read that correct. Sliced deli lunch meat chicken. .
google avatar

Yelp
This was our second stop on Bridge Street and we were ready for some food. My husband and I ordered the Grilled Duck Pastrami Sandwich, Picked Eggs, and Korean BBQ Short Rib Tacos. The pickled eggs weren't my favorite. I was expecting them to be deviled (might not have read very well), but they were hard boiled and didn't have a lot of flavor. Both entrees were great. The tacos were my favorite. They had great flavor. They were a little small for the price and I wish I had gotten a side of popcorn instead of rice. The duck pastrami was really good too. The popcorn was the biggest surprise! It had a great seasoning on it. I thought the food was good and would come back again for it.

Yelp
Huge space with great food and superb service. Lots of veggie options. The last Sunday of the month is Punk Rock Flea Market. Fun! And loud music!
google avatar

Kurt I.

Yelp
Solid food and fantastic vegan options. We usually come during the punk rock flea market. It's kinda crowded and loud, but the food is truly fantastic. Quite the surprise for Phoenixville.

Yelp
I'm not a put down. I put my foot down. And I'm gonna kick it root down! This a fun brewery right in the heart of downtown Phoenixville. Root Down is one of several spots to get your homemade suds in the small Chester county town, and it is right at the top of the list for me. Lots of space - check Lots of beer - check Friendly bartenders, games, and food - check, check, and check This is definitely a family friendly brewery, perfect for large groups. There are several long tables when you first walk in, along with a large bar for couples, pairs of two or the solo traveler. Keep walking and you'll enter the back room which also has long tables and a couple of pinball machines off to the side (nice touch). I really appreciate breweries that deliver a variety of styles and that's exactly what you'll get here - everything from IPAs, to lagers, to sours to stouts. There is a beer for everyone, even your friend or family member that doesn't venture far off of the Budweiser path. This is the kind of place where the bartenders will surely recognize you and know your name after a couple of visits. On my first visit, I even had one bartender say my name when he served me which I thought was a nice touch. I definitely plan on trying the food next time I'm here as I've missed out on it during both my visits. P.S. Come on a Saturday afternoon and enjoy some classic B kung fu movies at the bar. A cheesy movie, good beer and good company ain't a bad way to spend your day.

Yelp
Root down brewing is fantastic and must stop if you are in the area. It's so much more than your average brewery, the back half is a blast from the past w the arcade games and graffiti. We had a variety of outstanding beers, a favorite of mine was the mannequin w a bank account. The food and service was great as well. We order a boat load of appetizers, everything was very tasty! The smoked wings were delicious and were definitely a favorite of the group. By the way they even have vegan options on the menu so a little something for everyone. I'm not sure his name but our waiter was fantastic, ( an artist as well from what we were told) he was helpful in our choices giving his opinion etc and very attentive throughout the night.

Yelp
One of my favorite brewery's to visit when I'm in Phoenixville Great vibe Great beer Great food And great bartenders

Yelp
I've been to many brewery restaurants, especially since Pennsylvania now has so many to choose from. Root Down is definitely in the bottom tier for quality, service, and atmosphere. I understand what they are attempting to do with the space, but it is incredibly loud. I could overlook this on its own as I'm sure it doesn't bother many (but beware, if you're sensitive to noise, this is no the place to be). However, this, in addition to poor service and standard, nothing-to-write-home-about beer made it a place I won't be returning to. After we sat down, as we were told to do by staff who also noted that someone would come over to take our order, no one came. After about 15 minutes of sitting there, I went to ask for service (despite our table being in direct line of sight with few tables having patrons). We ordered beer and food. Beer came as did the appetizer -- a little slow for how many workers there were compared to customers, but okay. After another 35 minutes of waiting for food, during which staff did check on us about 3 times, we found out the person who took our order didn't put it in. She came to take our order and then we never saw her again. Someone did bring our food, after another 20 minutes, and then no one checked on us again. In fact, the waitstaff who helped us initially actually had their back to us each time they visited nearby tables. It was on purpose as one would need to try to avoid us based on our table location. We finally got someone to get us the check. Overall, terrible experience -- a simple apology or offer for a quick app to hold us over would have been nice. Only reason this got 2 stars is the beer was average. My advice -- there are plenty of other amazing breweries, distilleries, and restaurants in Phoenixville. I'd go to any of them before coming back.

Mike W.

Yelp
Awesome place,Mike was so nice to sit down and tell us the whole story as to how they got started and where they are today! Beers where fantastic and service was top notch highly recommended!!
google avatar

Yelp
So glad to find a place with a ton of vegan options. I was looking for takeout that had vegan options because of a milk allergy. We ordered their cauliflower app with Korean bbq sauce and the Thai sauce on the side, the duck sandwich and upgraded to the fries on the side, and the vegan falafel. The cauliflower app was amazing! Both sauces chosen were so tasty. We would order this every time we come here. The duck sandwich was perfect and tender. The steak fries are home made and seasoned perfectly. I was nervous the fries would be okay, but they were great. The homemade pickles were great as well. Perfect side. Lastly the falafel was wonderful! It packs a big bite. If you're not a fan of over seasoned food, then I would not suggest the falafel. The popcorn on the side was good, but I would recommend upgrading to the fries. This place was a win. We will be back.

Yelp
Coming from West Chester, we don't have a lot of places like this open during COVID. So we were glad to make the trip down here to check out Root Down Brewing, which we had heard so much about. The beers were fantastic with comical names. I ordered the mushroom tacos which were delicious - the shiitake mushrooms were marinated in a nice Asian sauce and were surprisingly filling. Our friends got the salmon bowl (GF) and some kind of artisanal pizza which they raved about. This place has kind of a grungy, low-key vibe with the graffiti / murals on the wall and the wide, open spaces. I wish that the games were open, so I can't wait to come back after the pandemic and play Pacman on their machine!

Yelp
Oh. My. Goodness. I picked this place for its ratings, and I was not disappointed! We stopped in for a quick dinner before a drive back home. Service was fast and friendly, and the food... wow. Here are the highlights: We started with the Bavarian pretzel with cheddar beer sauce and mustard. It came piping hot, soft, and delicious. My husband thought that his burger was perfectly cooked and exactly to his specifications. He felt that there was a little too much bread in the bun, but it was still a very good bun. He requested steak sauce for his burger, but they didn't have any in-house, So they whipped up some thing in the back. It was a combination of Korean barbecue and Worcestershire sauce. It was amazing, and I appreciate that they went above and beyond. I got the pork sandwich with sautéed peppers. It was quite delicious, but unfortunately, I was so taken with my appetizer and side dishes, that I didn't get to eat very much of it. I will be enjoying that tomorrow. It came with some very good pickles as well. Finally, the sides-- All sandwiches come with a side of popcorn which I thought was odd at first, until I tasted it. It is seasoned with herbs in a vegan butter, and it is quite delicious. My husband got the seasoned steak fries, and while I am not a fan of steak fries, these are no ordinary fries. They also were seasoned wonderfully. If you haven't been here yet, go. You will not regret it.

Yelp
This is a unique addition to the pxv brew scene and feels like a spot with personality that will develop a following. Get here before everyone figures it out. I highly recommend checking out Root Down Brewing especially if you're looking for laid back and go at your own pace experience. RDB has an unconventional service model for a brewery--think Panera-style, however the owner refers to it as "free style dining". The atmosphere inside is expansive, and the beer and food is tasty. I've visited a few times so far and enjoyed all of my visits. You come in, are greeted --if it's your first time make sure you tune in and take advantage of the intro, then grab a seat anywhere and move around if you like--just bring your dranks with you. The seating is plentiful and accommodates bar goers, large groups, families, dates without any one type of group interfering with one another. There are arcade games in the back. The decor inside is very industrial, graffiti, raw and comfortable. It feels very Phoenixville...taking something old and reviving it into something new and vibrant. The building used to be an old theater. To order food, you go to an open kitchen counter in the second half of the building, grab a number and it's brought out to you. To order drinks, flag down a waiter/ess or one will come to you, or to expedite in case they're really busy, just come up to the bar to order. I appreciate the hospitality from the staff which contributes to a friendly environment. If you sit at the bar and it takes a few minutes for you to be noticed, feel free to grab someone's attention. Because of their unique service model, they won't mind. They offer 10 or so different beers on draft, and a couple ciders and wines from outside through local purveyors, and a food menu. As for the food, the bar food is tasty! I've tried so far the chicken tacos..twice, deviled eggs, slaw, potato salad and jumbo dog. Considering it's attempting to be finger/bar food not fine dining, it's really good for quick eats! As for the the beer--ehhm the main attraction, it is also tasty. A variety of IPAs are available as well as some more unique offerings. I recommend taking advantage of a flight to maximize your tasting experience. A fun fact: their beer flight holders are made from repurposed wood from the building by one of the investors. Thanks for the nice experiences! Keep it up!

Yelp
Root Down Brewing....drop all your preconceived notions of what a brewery is supposed to be, because this place blows them away! Great drinks and AMAZING food! I absolutely believe the pork sandwich surpasses Dinics, and that's saying something.
google avatar

Christine D.

Yelp
I really struggled with this rating because the food was a 5 star while the service was no stars. Being it first visit, we didn't know that you shouldn't wait to be seated.. and all the employees mingling around, no one bothered to tell us for the 10 min we stood there. I asked for water cuz I don't drink beer, didn't get any while everyone else was served beers so after a while I went to the bar to ask and was told they were out of pitchers..I replied that I didn't need a pitcher..a glass would do. I ordered vegan nachos with vegan queso and was served the nachos with real cheese as well as the vegan queso.. no one came back to check on us so..I tried to pick off the cheese. I think I'll stick to take out next time

Courtney G.

Yelp
Used to love coming to root down! It was always such a good environment and staff was knowledgeable and nice. Not so much anymore. The staff is rude. They get mad at you for asking for glasses over plastic and just overall seem mad and unhappy. Was always our go to spot and I think today may have been the last straw. Such a shame. The beer is amazing and food is also good. The service is just very unwelcoming and we feel like a burden anytime we order something from the bar. Hopefully things change since the quality of the beer is amazing.
google avatar

Jessie W.

Yelp
Great vegan food!!! And also great beer. Loved the Gary Jarcia IPA. And recommend the eggplant BLT or vegan Korean style tacos. Good beer, good food. A lot of seating. Casual seat yourself style. Friendly staff. We definitely will come back!

Yelp
Awesome food, great tap list and brews - 4th anniversary just happened and they are getting busier after the pandemic which is great. The owner (Mike) and his staff are super friendly and all around great people.
google avatar

Caitlin O.

Yelp
Cool spot for beer and some snacks! Root down is a big, spacious location with 20+ beers and a great snack menu. The servers were all friendly. I think this would be a great spot to bing a larger group! As a fan of sour beer, I had quite a few options (cue the colorful flight!) and will definitely return to try more!
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
Really fun place to grab a beer or dinner. Everything I've eaten was great. They have games to play so it's good for the family.

Lynne R.

Yelp
Really great Reuben sandwich, tasty and not drowned in cheese and sauce! Had a Tripel too and loved it. A very good late lunch/ early dinner. AND attentive friendly staff

Yelp
I wanted to like this, I really did. The beer was fine, not the best, but decent. The service was so-so, we had a waitress who got us started and then we never saw her again. That's ok you get handed off sometimes. But we ordered some food...and it wasn't particularly good. My kid, who will eat any pizza you put in front of him, didn't care for the pizza. My meal was ok, but nothing special. We got a large pretzel that kind of tied us over, but between the gaps with the wait service and the food, it isn't a place I would be in a hurry to go back to for dinner. If you are looking for just a beer, I'm sure it would be fine, but there are better options in town for a combination of good beer and good food.
google avatar

Janet H.

Yelp
Great spot for a beer with the family. Suggest that they post the building's history and the brewery's history on the menu. FYI, from what I could figure it was an old root beer and orange crush bottling facility. They did a great job repurposing the space. The back (beer garden-but couldn't see an outdoor space) was rented out for a kids (?) party, so I didn't see much other than pinball games, air hockey, etc. The variety of beers was good with something for everyone on our group. I always recommend a flight when trying a new brewery.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
A great surprise! Large seating area, large bar, and great food. They also have a small game area, but the better part is the Cornhole area. But for a brewery, it's pretty great! All the beers were unexpectedly excellent, and they have great ratings beer tasting apps. We only tried their take in poutine, and the portion was small, but quite delicious! The gravy is actually swedish meatball gravy, which makes sense since they have a swedish meatball app. It works! And hey, it's right across the street from a parking lot, which is very helpful in Phoenixville. Overall, this place was an excellent surprise and is definitely worth a shot!
google avatar

Paul S.

Yelp
Got a great sandwich for $6.50 and I loved their Grot lager that they brew. Plenty of seating and a fun atmosphere. Paul gave us some cool history on the building.. I may do another bike ride with this as the midpoint.

Yelp
10/10 recommend.. doesn't mean 5/5 stars. So many goods. A couple flaws. I just moved to the area, and I'm so happy this was my first stop to explore Pville. First of all, I absolutely love how open this place is. And it smelled FANTASTIC the second we walked in. Ambiance is perfect. The waiters/waitresses constantly walked by to see if we needed anything. Never an empty glass. The beers: so. Many. Great. Options. I'm a huge NE IPA and Sours kinda gal. They do not disappoint. Cinnaberry Yum Yum. Amazing. Their Juice in Da haze. Great. My roommate and I agreed they're missing a slight sharpness on the back note, but I was still very very happy with our choices. Even my gf liked the sour. Great feat right there. The food. Our first negative.. my roommate had to pull a hair off her pizza the second it came out but literally pulls it off, shrugs and dives in. "Eh, I'm still gonna eat it." And don't act like you've never gotten food in your own home cooked meals. I cracked up and moved along. The pizza was delish! I looove puttanesca. Have had it on many occasions growing up (ask my why it's called the dish of the whores'') and they hit the mark here very close to expectation! Two thumbs up for flavor however, their crust is sub par. The toppings made it fall to a soppy mess in the center. And the crust was more a stale crispy texture and flavor, not the brick oven style I was hoping for. Eh. Can't have it all. My moo shoo pork tacos were very flavorful, although I would've preferred more heat and slightly less sweet, and maybe grill the corn tortilla for that extra element. But I still really enjoyed them. My gf got the burger well down (I know. Let's not talk about it) and it was surprisingly delicious! (I like mine still mooing, so you can imagine the issue here). THE MAC. The carbonara Mac and cheese deserves its own category. Wow. The pancetta. The asparagus. Just do it. Phenomenal to say the least. Happy we decided to split it. And by that I mean I took it home and finished it myself later on. So. First outing not without a few kinks, but quite successful. Will return after some more exploring of Bridge Street.

Yelp
Great theme and friendly staff but not ideal if you are looking for a quiet spot. The high ceilings and exposed brick make for a noisy atmosphere. Regardless, the fish tacos and half plate of nachos hit the spot. I love how you dont have to get a full tray of the nachos; the half is a much better portion for 3 people. Beer wise they have a little something for everyone. I'm always a sucker for a good triple and theirs hit the spot. Grit was a great pils for a hot day and very drinkable. Overall a fun hip hop themed spot in the heart of Phoenixville. Plenty of games and large tables for groups. It is kid friendly as well.

Yelp
Root Down Brewing is located in beautiful Phoenixville, PA in an up and coming area off of Bridge Street. It is housed in a cool building and sports an industrial feel. The beers were tasty and reasonably priced. The area behind the bar is fenced and exposes their brew facility. It makes for an interesting focal point. The bar area is large and there are community and single tables filling the rest of the front room. In the back people were playing various games. The atmosphere was light and fun. It seemed like a lot of locals were in attendance. I had a flight which is my favorite thing to do when going to a brewery for the first time. I was pleased and would certainly stop back in to Root Down Brewing on future trips to PA.

Yelp
Yes and here's why - versatile brew list with something for everyone, maybe IPA toward (which makes me happy) -very relaxed ambiance perfect for relaxing after a tough week -Kung foo is always playing - seating for two or large groups - awesome food, less grease, no fryer, come hungry leave happy and don't feel terrible about yourself - the specials are always changing, introducing new ideas and definitely things you can't get anywhere else on Bridge street Con - if you are bringing someone hard of hearing, coming here isn't a great idea for conversation on a Friday night. Maybe a Sunday afternoon instead. But.. The echoing noise also contributes to allure of the place
