✨ Phenomenal Bites ✨ I absolutely love supporting this small, health conscious dine in restaurant and market. There is something on the menu for everyone weather you’re looking for a warm bowl, a salad or a smoothie. My favorites are the sunflower Caesar and the mint choc smoothie There’s tons of cozy seating indoor and out and a cute market to find a snack while you wait for your order

Delicious vegan, gluten free, and top 9 allergen friendly (except coconut) food! I had the cauli samosa bowl and the ice blueberry matcha latte yesterday..both were excellent. I love that you can get the latte unsweetened. I will definitely be back to try a wrap next time!

Google
Found this from the Savor Bethesda Restaurant Week. There was a convenient shop selling souvenirs and groceries. The food menu took the wall on the left and the smoothie menu took the right hand side. Each $20 lunch included the Fresh Organic Wrap (original price $12.49) and Air Fried Cauliflower Bites (original price $7.35). So, the restaurant week is actually more expensive than adding up two regular prices!!! The cauliflower bites were interesting. The in-house sauces were good. The wrap was in multiple smaller wraps, so was difficult to hold if the ingredients had some liquid. The bowl was actually better than the wrap. They also advertised that all non-eatable were compostable.

Do yourself a favor and visit Rooted3 next time you’re in Bethesda. My sister and I were greeted by a friendly employee at the counter, who walked us through the menu and told us some of the favorite items. I can rarely go to a restaurant and eat everything on the menu so it was hard to pick! Delicious, fresh food. Everything is gluten-free and vegan. Cute outdoor seating area. Nice variety of negates, snacks, and freezer items to bring home.

Great food. Had the buffalo wrap and the manna mango smoothie. Pretty good on price, me and my animal rights group came here after a protest and it was great. Amazing atmosphere and amazing food.

Such a cute vibe! The calm colors and plants make the atmosphere so nice especially during the cold winter months! In the spring and summer there is a relaxing patio to sit and enjoy. The smoothies are amazing- we’ve been coming for the smoothies. The food options are great for vegan, vegetarian or just healthy eaters who want good food! The small market with packaged and frozen foods is well curated and definitely unique in our area. Don’t sleep on this gem.

Stumbled onto this place while wandering around at lunch time trying to figure out what to eat. The food is filling, fresh, and fabulous. The people are genuine and welcoming and the decor is modern and beautiful. I have been back twice since my first visit, once just to grab snacks in their mini market. I have a gluten sensitivity and several allergies so having a place open up that leaves out most of what I am allergic to is awesome. Although I can’t have any of the smoothies since they rely on bananas and pineapple for most of them they have a good assortment of them along with coffees and other drinks to go along with their food. It’s gonna be my go to spot when I forget to bring my lunch from home.

Google
I never write reviews but this place was so good I had to. I'm very health conscious, and therefore pay a lot of attention to what I put into my body. I was unable to find a lunch spot for my in-office days that was not only healthy, but organic. Not only is Rooted3 both, but it also tastes amazing. I'm truly blown away. I have a custom bowl that is delicious and the veggies are fresh. The red pepper bites are great and a touch spicy. The tumeric latte was perfect. Overall, 10000/10 and I will definitely be going back.

Yelp
As a healthy-inspired foodie, this quaint salad bar was truly the best fast-casual meal I had ever had! Unknown to the fact that Rooted3 was completely vegan, they offered amazing, uncommon snacks, bevs, merch, and more! Their options of bases, sides, toppings, and dressings were absolutely delicious! For the first time, I had rainbow carrots, quinoa in a salad, and actual lentils in salad too! The Kale and broccoli were delish as well! Totally check them out! (would drive 30 min for this!)

Yelp
Glad a new healthy spot (besides Sweet Greens and Chop't) opened up in Bethesda! There's a cute marketplace next to the deli with a galore of healthy canned drinks like Olli, Poppi, and other brands (low sugar, probiotic) and healthy snacks. I bought a couple of drinks that I haven't seen at other stores. There's a variety of wraps and salads with protein option on the menu. The Umami Shroom Wrap was a bit bland and dry, but delivered on the Umami Shroom protein fritters and garlic sauce (will ask for more - next time!) The air-fried Cauliflower bites were crispy with a sweet house-made BBQ sauce. Unsurprisingly, they were a bit soggy when I ate them a couple of hours later. While the food and drinks are a bit pricey, I'm excited to come back to try another wrap or bowl to help support the local healthy business.

Yelp
I have been here at least 5 times now and have tried multiple things and love it all. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The owners are lovely. The selection is great. The place is quiet and clean. I love coming here! Highly recommend.

Yelp
My dad and I were looking for somewhere to eat dinner when we saw this cute modern vegan restaurant. I was skeptical at first about the vegan aspect but once I tried their food I was won over. I had one of their "make your own" bowls. It was so good the server was so nice and recommended certain ingredients that would go well together. My favorite were the harissa fritters, crunchy onions and pickled onions, would definitely come here again with my whole family, so we could all experience the tasty cuisine!!

Yelp
I finally made my way to Rooted3 which is an all vegan business in Bethesda. They have some premade bowl options as well as custom bowls available. I was most impressed with their well stocked market of specialty vegan snacks, sauces, and drinks. I got to Rooted3 at 6pm on a weekday. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available for myself and friends to enjoy dinner together. I was surprised at this hour they were almost out of all the protein options for the bowls. I was able to assemble a bowl still, but maybe I need to visit next time at a different hour to ensure they are ready for the dinner rush. I made a custom bowl with red lentil pasta, pretty much every veggie topping available that was not at a premium price, massaged kale, and I tried a cauliflower samosa fritter, mushroom fritter, Buffalo fritter, and cowboy fritter. These fritters look similar to falafel and are the protein for the bowls. You get to pick 4 of those protein options and they do let you mix and match so you can try multiple flavors in one bowl. For dressing I picked the spicy cilantro. I thought the bowl was a pretty generous size and I loved that there was no limit on veggies to add. I do think that the protein balls/fritters could use some improvement. They look so pitifully small in the bowl. I honestly would have preferred to just add some baked tofu as my protein over these fritters. I think tofu would stand out more and this bowl has so much flavor already that adding these fritters is kind of a waste as their individual flavor gets lost among all the other ingredients. I love how many sauces are available to finish off the bowl. I definitely want to come back to try more custom bowl options. If you visit Rooted3 I highly recommend bringing some shopping bags to snag up the goodies in their market. They have so many vegan snack options and hard to find specialty sauces. It was so much fun browsing their selection. Overall I had a good experience at Rooted3 but they also have room for improvement. I think they need to improve having ingredients well stocked during normal busy hours. 6pm is a pretty standard dinner time and they were almost completely out of fritters and had some other ingredients like the red lentil pasta that was almost completely out. Also, I think that the fritters could be improved. They really got lost in the bowl and that isn't what you want as the main protein source for the meal. I do thank this business for opening as I love supporting vegan businesses. I think they have a lot of potential and just need some fine tuning so more nonvegans give them a try.

Yelp
A plethora of options. Great options for the price and fresh products. My colleague went back for dinner after we ate there for lunch she liked it so much.

Yelp
You know what you're getting with this store! Fresh, healthy, vegan, fast casual. The menu has a good variety of options from bowls to smoothies to coffee. We enjoyed our cowboy bowl and cornbread jalapeno bowl. The blueberry lemon spritzer left something to be desired, like agave or honey - something to lift the bitterness. The ladies serving the bowls were super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The market is a cute touch. Both indoor and outdoor seating available at lunchtime on a friday, although it certainly wasn't empty either. I wouldn't go out of my way to come to this restaurant, but would come back again if I were in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I was really excited to check out Rooted3! It's rare to find a place that is so allergen friendly. Unfortunately I left pretty disappointed. I arrived around 6pm on a week night and the food was pretty dried out, especially the fritters and roasted broccoli. It was difficult to chew and tasted almost stale, not fresh. There was only one other customer in the cafe the whole time I was there so I get the sense that business was slow, therefore not much turn over of the food. I ordered a bowl and fries and I didn't mind having to wait 10-15 minutes for the fries because they were going to be fresh. However when they arrived they were cooked to a crisp and so difficult to chew. The staff were so kind and I loved the market which was a redeeming factor. The inside is so cute and airy, super clean. But given the lack of freshness of the food, I'm a bit disappointed.

Yelp
Wowed by this place. I was visiting my family on the east coast and four of us went. We had Umami Shroom bowls, fries, the BBQ Bites cauliflower fritters, mint shakes and vanilla chia pudding. The food was fresh, the flavor combinations great, and overall everything was super tasty (even without factoring in all the things it's free of). One person in our group is veggie-averse and liked the fries and cauliflower fritters and chia pudding. The portions for the bowls were hefty so we had leftovers to take home. Their market sells things to take home, so we got a container of cardamom ice cream (which I failed to taste before I left town, drat). The folks working there were friendly and enthusiastic. I hear they have a tasty brunch (and that people can't tell it's gluten-free and vegan and organic). They mentioned they're also thinking of introducing wraps to their menu. Their arrangement of tables can be moved into a banquet-table style formation to accommodate larger groups. If I lived in town, I'd go several times a week. Try it!

Yelp
Visiting Bethesda for the first time and I'm blown away by Rooted3! The food is incredibly fresh and healthy, with no dairy or fried food, and you get a very healthy portion for the price paid. In addition, they have a large selection of unique and healthy drinks, snacks ready to go and the atmosphere/decor compliments the food very well. This place is worthy of becoming a chain and would love for one to open in the Fort Lee area in NJ, close to the GW Bridge. While there are local, healthy food joints like Rooted3, this is simply a level above in food options, unique recipes by the owner and cleanliness. Please come to Jersey soon!!

Yelp
Such a great addition to the neighborhood! Everything was fresh and delicious, the portions were big, the staff was friendly, and there were so many interesting and unique vegan proteins and sauces to try. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu and pick up some of the market items.

Yelp
Food Excellent Service Informative & helpful Ambiance Clean & refreshing The owner is so sweet to talk to You will for-sure be happy with your dish

Yelp
Highly recommend and will be back when I'm in the area! Service was friendly and prompt, food was healthy and delicious, and the place was cute. I was happy to have such a delicious and filling meal while traveling for work.

Yelp
Food here is amazing! Bowls are so fresh. Best coffee smoothie I've ever had. Mango smoothie was to die for too. Beautiful space with tons of vegan options to choose from. Will 100% be back.

Yelp
Wow! Rooted3 is fantastic!!! Absolutely delicious food at a reasonable price. Fresh, organic ingredient. Thoughtfully flavored dressings. All in a beautifully designed, calming atmosphere. Two thumbs way up.

Yelp
Love this place! Quality ingredients, friendly staff and fast service if you are short on time. Glad to have them in the neighborhood.

Yelp
I have been to this spot on many occasions, and each time my expectations are exceeded! The smoothies are great and so filling, the salads are so fresh and large portions, and the breakfast is amazing. The staff is so good about cross contamination as well as being able to answer any questions about ingredients and flavors. As a vegan, this spot is a great find for snacks and meals, and the ambiance is great for studying or meeting up with friends. 10/10 will be coming again and recommending to all of my vegan&gf friends

Yelp
Great vegan option and welcome addition to Bethesda. Enough food for two meals. Very flavorful options. The rice was quite hard, though. That's a basic thing that a restaurant should know how to prepare. Even still, we are excited to try it again.

Clare ..

Yelp
3-1/2. Service was very responsive to requests to customize the bowl. Place is clean, pleasant and quiet. But I am giving a 3-1/2 star review because the taste of the food was just "meh": bland. In addition, pricey for what you get ($20 for bowl plus canned drink.) There appears to be only vegan bowls with greens, grains and some toppings on the menu--very similar to Cava or Sweetgreens, but without the variety of tastes and flavors at these other chains. Rooted3 is still a relatively new place so there is room for improvement. Hint: add spicy, ethnic, and diverse flavors. Improve the dressing. Don't rely on "fritters" as your only plant-protein. Think about all the wonderful things you can do with beans especially soy. I'll come back in 6 months to try again. Good luck! We need more vegan places in Bethesda!

Dan Z.

Yelp
Good bowls, smoothies, fried cauliflower bites, fries. The small shop with grocery items wouldn't replace your grocery store, but it got me to try a few good things I've never seen, and I'll probably keep impulse buying that stuff. Rooted3 is probably the most guilt-free food you can get in Bethesda, at least among the places where you could eat several times per week. Allergens aren't really an issue for me, so I maybe wish the menu included some more common plant-based stuff. Still, I can't really complain since they're the only plant-based fast casual place in town, and it's a great addition. Owners are friendly, and store is super clean and sleek so far.

Bryan M.

Yelp
Wow, this is becoming my favorite place! Such fresh, healthy, delicious food at a reasonable price! Friendly staff, clean & modern space makes this spot an absolute gem for anyone looking for a healthy alternative to so much of the garbage being passed off as food haha! LOVE ROOTED3!!!

C C.

Yelp
Wonderful place offering tasty food that also happens to be vegan and allergen friendly! In addition to generous bowls made with super fresh ingredients, the menu has appetizer items (like fries and fritters) and smoothies. They also offer a little grocery/market area with tons of allergen-friendly products. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming. So glad to have this place in Bethesda! Dietary restrictions: Menu is free of top allergens. GREAT for someone avoiding gluten, dairy, and soy! Can eat everything on the menu!

Julia G.

Yelp
bowls are tasty (especially the cornbread jalepeno fritters + roasted garlic dressing) and really filling! friendly service, would return

David R.

Yelp
Healthy and tasty. Service was great and the place was clean and open. The smoothies were also healthy and tasty. Definitely recommend this place if you want food without all the bad oils, etc. if you enjoy veggie meals and healthy, I'm confident you will make this place a keeper. It's' a keeper for me.

T B.

Yelp
If no star was an option for rating, that would be most fitting for this review. As a vegan, I was really looking forward to frequenting a new and local plant-based restaurant, but sadly, we definitely won't be returning. Why? Because after entering the restaurant, & standing there waiting, then walking to the back counter, then out to the patio, the staff acted as if we were invisible... no greeting, no acknowledgment, and no service. We were "seen" but ignored, so we left. On the day of our visit, the restaurant was not busy, only one person inside and a few folks seated at a table in the patio area, so not at all an excuse for such unwelcoming experience.

Hitesh J.

Yelp
Amazing tasty food! Staff is friendly and helpful. And did I mention that the food is great.

Sarah N.

Yelp
Delicious food that is super healthy and nourishing! Love that it's all vegan plus gluten free. Beautiful light filled space and patio with art filled walls and very welcoming, friendly staff. We had two smoothies and a bowl - each one was so good. I highly recommend Rooted3!

Adrienne H.

Yelp
Rooted 3 salads are so delicious! I love that they are so healthful, too. The service is friendly and informative and the decor is fresh and modern. The outside area has a beautiful green and white painted mural and tables in the sun and shade. I go every week for lunch. Such a strong addition to Bethesda!

Ken G.

Yelp
Wonderful addition to the Bethesda dining scene. An excellent selection of curated vegan bowls and salads, or you can build your own bowls. We made our own bowls - one with a "Cowboy" fritter and the other with a Harissa fritter. The food was fresh, healthy and delicious.

Mihail S.

Yelp
Cool new place for sophisticated delicious vegan smoothies and a lot more. I would definitely recommend to try it!

Heidi J.

Yelp
Had a delicious lunch yesterday and wanted to give high praise to this new establishment. The food was fresh, flavorful , and satisfying. I created my own bowl with kale, quinoa and cauliflower fritters - which were delish. The restaurant has a lovely area to sit inside and a beautiful patio outside. It also has a great store/market area where you can grab guilt free treats. And a superb selection of waters, cactus waters, sparkling waters, you name it. Check this place out it will not disappoint.

Otto G.

Yelp
I have been to Rooted3 now 3 times and have had a great salad every time. They have several tasty dressings and their various different flavor falafel croquettes are great. The service is excellent and the salads have been reasonably priced. I get the "make my own" salad there and they have a lot of ingredients to choose from.
