I read the reviews, but still decided to give Rootstock a shot. We went for a Friday date night and had a great time overall. It got pretty busy, so I was glad we have a reservation. We asked to sit on the roof and had to wait a little bit but, the roof was the best part. Let me put this review in perspective - I know we are in Woodstock, so I didn't expect mind blowing food. Here is an overview:
Vibes: 5 stars! The roof was beautiful and service was great. There is also a music room where there was more of a party vibe if that is your thing.
Drinks: 3 stars. The Margarita was okay - at least it wasn't made with sour mix. The Summer Breeze was good. I cant remember what the other two were called, but nothing was very creative or memorable
Food: 3 stars. We ordered quite a few things to try. It all looks beautiful, but taste unbelievably basic. The lamb lollipops were too salty, octopus was okay but had 3 pieces of octopus, goat cheese fondue was bland, poundcake was just okay, and matcha cheesecake was good but you couldn't taste the matcha.
We spent $150 with tip for a very average meal. Again, I know we were in Woodstock, but if you want to charge atlanta prices, the food should live up to the price. Good vibes, but I wouldn't go back for the food.
