"A trip to Hawaii piqued pastry chef and Cakes by Gray owner Melissa Gray’s interest in Polynesian cuisine and resulted in the 2019 launch of RosaBees in the River Arts District. Working with executive chef Cookie Hadley, Gray has created a playful menu of pu-pu (appetizers), haukai (salads), maniko (entrees) and, of course, ono (dessert) that they’ve managed to transition beautifully to a to-go model.  Savory items like musubi with teriyaki-glazed house-made Spam or tofu, green-papaya salad, braised octopus sashimi, saimin noodle soup, and mochi fried chicken can (and should) be followed up with one of Gray’s numerous sweet offerings. This winter, look for cinnamon-sugar banana lumpia with coconut syrup and chocolate sauce as well as the adorable s’mores, which feature hexagon-shaped, house-made honey graham crackers, and marshmallows in a rotating selection of flavors with smoked chocolate. The full menu is available on the website, and orders can be called in for pickup at the restaurant. Delivery is also available from Kickback AVL." - Gina Smith

I had the tuna poke bowl and it was amazing!! It is a very good sized portion. My husband had the GF fried chicken thighs and said they were so delicious. We had the salmon appetizer with root veggie chips. Everything was so fresh. The atmosphere was fun and loved the East Fork pottery dishes. The staff was also very freshly and helpful.

We love this place! Outside of them being short staffed and the weird hours, the servers are friendly and food is unique and fresh. Dishes have a Hawaiian influence with homemade spam, coconut rice and delicious tuna - which is hard to find in Asheville.

Google
This place is so cute! We stopped in for an afternoon cocktail, Hunter was behind the bar and took great care of us. The Island Style coconut washed old fashion was delicious, and not too sweet. We also opted for an order of lumpia which was amazing. We can't wait to come back for dinner next time we're in town.

Google
The most excellent meal I’ve had in a long time! The cocktails were unique and delicious, and the food was Devine - just like the best of the best from Hawaii! And then came the dessert. Wow. Just wow!!!

My wife and I tried RosaBees for our first time on Tuesday night. We had heard good things and we were happy to find that it lived up to the hype. Our server, Hunter, was very helpful explaining the menu and made some very delicious cocktails for us as we waited for our food. We tried the Musubi, the Huli Huli Chicken and the Belly Bowl. All were fantastic and packed with flavor, but we did have to box some of it up in an effort to save room for dessert. They have a very extensive dessert menu that we could not skip, so we tried the Ube Haupia Pie. Each component and layer was so delicious by itself but the combination of everything in one bite was to die for. We highly recommend this very cozy and cute establishment and we will certainly be back soon. Cheers!

Google
It's po-kay, y'all! Mmmmm mmm! This place was excellent! Perfect!! We had lumpia, >banana bread< French toast topped with pineapple and banana creme, and a poke bowl, poke bol....unh! Best I've had since Big Island! And some awesome additions....fresh local greens, yummy chips and fried avocado. I can't wait to go back and try the fried chicken, amazing desserts and awesome cocktails! The ingredients sound incredible!! I could eat here every day of our visit!

A couple of friends recommended this place to us and I'm so glad they did because I hadn't heard of it before. We stopped by for brunch on our most recent trip to Asheville. I'd recommend making a reservation if you can. They say that outdoor tables are first come first serve and you can't reserve a table outside, but they were still seating people with reservations outside before us when they got there after us. We waited about 15 minutes for a table (even though there were some open so I'm guessing they're short staffed) when we got there right at the start of service). Aside from the weird seating situation, the food and service were both outstanding once we were seated. We tried the Okonomiyaki, Ube Scallops, Broke Da Mouth Bennie, and Loco Moco. My favorite dish was the Broke Da Mouth Bennie. The lilikoi chili hollandaise was one of the best sauces I've ever had. The spam and biscuit made the perfect combination. The ube puree on the scallops dish was phenomenal. I've never had ube on a savory dish before and I loved it. Those were the standouts for me, but the rest was also delicious. I didn't save room for dessert, but we got some anyway. We tried the Ube Haupia Pie and the Right Side Up Pineapple Butter Mochi. The winner was definitely the butter mochi. It's probably one of my favorite desserts I've had. Definitely get this when you go. This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Asheville now. I'll have to go back to try their dinner menu next time I'm in town.

Google
(Born and raised Maui, Hawaii) Get yourself a reservation for some ono grinds (tasty food)! Service was great and they have a good sized cocktail menu. We got to spend some time talking with the owner Melissa and can say she has a heart for Hawaiian culture and is th perfect person to bring this fine dining Hawaiian to the Asheville area.

Yelp
Don't worry, BEE happy with RosaBees! One of my favorite restaurants in Asheville! I've literally made trips to Asheville from Atlanta based on whether I could get a reservation at RosaBees! The saddest day is when I found out they no longer serve brunch because I LOVED their brunch menu. You can still find some of the dishes in their regular menu but still makes me sad either way. But when they did have it, I was happily sipping on POG mimosas and breaking into a Broke Da Mouth Bennie. Loco Moco, the Huli Huli duck (although i think the menu only has chicken now) and the Lomi Salmon are a MUST. The Ube scallops are also a gorgeous entree that you can't skip out on. And before you leave you CANNOT SHOULD NOT pass on dessert. The ube haupia pie is a classic, but I LOVED the Island Hopper, aka a dessert sampler. Butter Mochi reminded me of Hawaii, but it was my favorite. The paradise cake was so so pretty but was a little on the dry side. The POG pie was a basic pie but offers a citrusy sweet touch to end the meal. All I can dream about now is planning my next trip to Asheville for more Rosabee's!

Yelp
Cute place that I have been wanting to try for a while. I don't live in Asheville and sine they close in the middle of the day for a few hours it wasn't working out. My timing seemed to always be off. Recently while shopping at Marquee I finally caught them open! Great service and a good variety of food and drink options. High quality food. My only negative is that they have no AC and the water the serve was room temp and since it was a super hot day it wasn't very comfortable.

Yelp
We dined at RosaBees while visiting Asheville this past weekend and it was amazing! The location is a casual yet artsy district and surrounded by other small businesses. Upon entering, the atmosphere is a fun and cozy spot. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and was able to fill us in on everything regarding their menu. The one thing I would recommend is getting some more comfortable booths, we sat in a wooden booth that was topped by a very awkward cushion, that moved every time you got up or moved. Another note, if you make a reservation and don't show your card is charged $150. I understanding being considerate and calling in advance, for sure, but that's a little much for a casual restaurant like this, or really any restaurant at all. Not a big deal by any means, but worth mentioning. On to the delicious food! We started with a few appetizers - the Musubi and Lumpia, both SO delicious. I had tried Spam "sushi" a few years ago and ever since, had wanted to try something similar. Their dish did not disappoint! The Lumpia (spring rolls) were also wonderful - fresh and flavorful, not too fried. For the entrees, we ordered Huli Huli Chicken and Teriyaki Tofu. I had some of my husband's chicken and it was so tender and flavorful. I would highly recommended. My Tofu dish, however, was hands down the best I have ever had. I have had tofu numerous times but only actually ordered tofu from a restaurant maybe once in my life. I was in the mood for it and glad I was because it was 10/10! Perfectly crispy and flavored. A bite of the accompanied coconut rice and kimchi slaw with the tofu was a bite I will never forget! RosaBees is a yummy and fun spot, and I would go back in a heartbeat!

Yelp
Asheville has done it yet again with another 5-star restaurant. I was taken to Rosabees for a Hawaiian-themed meal. The restaurant is in a funky, eclectic grouping of buildings. Inside it's semi-dark & intimate. The menu has so many things calling my name, but I ordered one of their specials which was Hawaiian Ribs, Kimchi Slaw, & macaroni salad. The ribs were off the chart tasty! They were covered in island seasoning & stickiness. The portion seemed like half a rack, & the quality was excellent. I will be dreaming of these ribs for a long time. I'm not a big fan of kimchi, so the slaw was wasted on me. The macaroni was ok, nothing stellar. But I didn't care because the ribs were beyond 5 stars.

Yelp
This place comes recommended from one of my clients while in Asheville on a business trips. It's a small quaint restaurant with chic atmosphere. Food was fresh and amazing, and service was excellent!!! We were party of nine and our waitress did not miss anything, we did not wait too long and were not rushed either. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. We ordered several appetizers and dessert, and we all agreed this restaurant delivered true Hawaiian cuisine. I highly recommend Rosabee when in Asheville.

Betsy B.

Yelp
Dinner was amazing and service great. So sad at the damage they must have experienced in the storm. Hope they can recover as it was fantastic!

Ana H.

Yelp
It is a very chick Hawaiian restaurant with an awesome vibe, instagrammable neon signs, and cool decor, I really loved the place. The staff was very friendly and attentive since we walked in. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu at the moment we were deciding on what to order. Our food was so delicious, every dish we had was a delight (I think I can still taste it), and everything was so fresh and very creatively served. This time we didn't have any cocktails, but I'm looking forward to being back soon. What did we have? - Lomi Salmon - Chili Peppa Wattah Wings - Poke Bowl - Ube Scallops - Island Fried Rice

Heidi-Jane S.

Yelp
The very best food I had in all of Asheville. I hope they are safe after the hurricane.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
Sooo good! Had lunch with some friends here this weekend and we loved it! I had the Loco Moco and it was so flavorful and so filling! I also had a Mai tai that was excellent (and adorable!) Our waiter Hunter was an absolute doll and the entire experience was really lovely. Would definitely recommend!

Z A.

Yelp
Nice mellow atmosphere, good food and tasty drinks! Not to mention the staff was great and patient with all of our orders. We would definitely come again.

Ed B.

Yelp
Our group was standing across the street in the Marquee parking lot and couldn't determine if this restaurant was open for lunch. Had to look up on the phone to see the hours and then proceeded to walk over and view the menu. We were curious about the lunch offerings and decided to give it a try. Overall we were happy with our selections. Shared a house salad and flanken short ribs. The Asheville rice and kimchi were tasty; the potato/mac had an unfamiliar flavor. Others in our party had chicken and spam meals. We enjoyed it and were satisfied.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Best Brunch Ever! Excellent food, drinks, coffee, service and ambiance. Fun place in the River Arts District. They make their spam in house and it does not disappoint! So good!

Yelp
O M G!! 10000/10000. If you are an islander this is a goldmine for you!! Like the pure nostalgia and joy I got from eating here was priceless. The excellence was just the cherry on top. I am bewildered that a place like this is in Asheville, NC. But they are definitely blessed. Growing up in the Philippines, Guam, and Hawaii, its definitely hard to find food that really executes the flavor here in the states. But this place goes above and beyond. The Kinilaw was AMAZING. Chicken, cooked to literal perfection. Mai tai, was strong and the lilikoi is delicious. The ube mash they have, I thought was a weird take to make a savory dish but would order again nonetheless!! I can't remember the exact dish I got but it had a fish, noodles similar to pancit and a sauce...DELICIOUS. Like I need to start writing these reviews the day of and not wait a few weeks bc the details of this dish...remarkable. The ube haupia pie - light and perfect just like from my childhood. Rosa bees was the BEST place we ate at during our stay in Asheville. And without my islander bias, the food here is exquisite. Everything is perfectly cooked, the flavors are balanced and delicious and the thought they have into choosing the dishes they put in the menu...just bravo. It makes me sad to live so far but like my fiancé says we can always make a trip back, and I just hope rosabees stays around for a long long time. Now I will say it is expensive. But you are paying for literal perfection. Worth every dollar. There is both inside and outside seating. Beautiful ambiance inside (somewhat dark). Also nestled in an art district. If you are in Asheville, come here and eat for me!!

Nansi G.

Yelp
Delicious complex food. Beautifully presented. Colorful too. We will be back. Thanks so much.

Sallie G.

Yelp
Do not sleep on RosaBees. Ambiance warm welcoming and fun- vibes! Loved the fried chicken, the homemade spam, and the ramen. Absolutely divine chocolate cake. Not that we had room for dessert but we are so glad we ordered. Between the two of us we tried 4 of the island inspired cocktails. All unique and delicious- standout was the lovely purple colored thai basil drink

Yelp
I've been to Asheville plenty of times, but never the RAD area so I wanted to explore more of what was available. I fell in love with RoasBees through their reviews and I was able to make a reservation a couple days in advance. There were a few others waiting outside and we were seated right when the doors opened. The place has a moody vibe so it felt a little strange coming in when it was empty and full sun coming in the window, but it got better as dinner continued and the seats filled up. Our server was a little strange and made us feel a bit like a bother for being there. This became particularly apparent when the server at the table next to us was so personable and explained different dishes, drinks, and made recommendations. We were torn on apps and could have easily ordered three or four, but decided on the spam musubi which tasted great and was the perfect size for two. For entrees we had the teri beef and the ube scallops. I have a hard time resisting scallops on a menu and I succumbed to them here as well. The scallops themselves were perfect and while the ube mash and edamame succotash was appealing to the eye, I felt like it was lacking flavor. I don't think they complimented the scallops as well as a savory risotto or something, but I definitely enjoyed it. The teri beef was really good, but not the best cut of meat for the price you're paying. I think we might have messed up by getting the most expensive entrees. The tab was fairly high and I don't think it matched up to the meal. It was little things like the cut of steak, aloof server, and bench cushions that don't fit right so my friend was sitting on the wooden bench because the other party next to us shifted it. I guess the attention to detail was off in areas you wouldn't expect when paying $36 and $40 fo entrees. That being said, we still really enjoyed our meal, but if I were to go back I would stick to ordering a round of apps and drinks or maybe some apps and share the burger. That way you can sample more of the menu in a casual atmosphere. The dessert menu was quite extensive, but also a little strange considering most of it was just too much for two people. I don't need three slices of cake for $25... just sell me one for $10. We ended up with the peanut butter bomb which was delicious and reasonably sized for two people. Maybe another option is to go for dessert and get a cake flight and a night cap.

Tom E.

Yelp
What a great find in RAD. Didn't know about it and just lucked in to the Hawaiian gem. Great brunch. Can't wait to try dinner.

Zoe A.

Yelp
Omg this place is amazing! I've been visiting Asheville for nearly 20 years and always eat and the never ending list of restaurants but this was a true treasure! Everything is amazingly delicious! Decor is lovely staff is very friendly. Almost don't want to let people know about this place...

Anh N.

Yelp
I'm from SoCal so I'm not too familiar with this area - it looks very artsy and industrial. The interior was well themed and decorated - great ambiance. We noticed a strange stench where we sat - unsure where it came from, but we got used to it eventually. Service was good, nothing special. I got the hash - I wish it had bigger chunks of bell peppers and onion. Too much potatoes. And i think overeasy eggs could have been way runnier. We also got the benne - great flavors! Poke bowl was delicious and refreshing. The biscuit and honey guava butter was tasty, but would have been nice to have a bigger serving of the butter.

Joseph B.

Yelp
This is a very unique and excellent brunch spot. Ideally get some appetizers to share. The drinks are creative. There's a lot of variety to the menu, which helps if dining with multiple people with various needs. Prices are fair for the freshness, quality, and stellar presentation!

Rachel I.

Yelp
My husband and I were in Asheville for a long weekend and were really excited to try this place. We left a little bummed out. We started off with the spam musubi, which was just OK. While eating it, I looked at the menu again and realized it was house-made spam. I don't think making it in-house made it better (it actually brought the dish down a couple of notches), and it was a tad too dry. I would have much preferred just regular spam. For my entree, I ordered the poke. I know the tuna is supposed to be cold, but it was chilled to the core. It was basically slightly tuna-flavored ice cubes. I thought serving raw fish like this was against the law (of yumminess). I've had many a poke bowl and I eat an ungodly amount of sushi and sashimi -- this tuna was stripped of flavor and made me sad. The positives: the decor was cute and my husband's mai tai was pretty good. But then he ordered a second drink and it never came. :/

John B.

Yelp
The location is actually part of the riverfront arts district. Oddly, I've found that the river is not the highlight of Asheville and this area is not the most happening place, but this one restaurant stands out. When I was actually in Hawaii (briefly), I struggled to find anything that was like it: distinctively Hawaiian but also vegetarian-friendly. It's definitely a reservations kind of place, and I sat at the bar and got a mocktail. The tofu teriyaki I ordered delivered a brightly sweet and savory flavor mix that wasn't too sweet, and I enjoyed every component of the included sides. My taro chips with furikake were pretty addictive. The desserts sounded awfully appealing, but I declined due to not wanting to leave Asheville having replaced every cell in my body with pure sugar. Still, this place delivered what I asked for: intriguing, dynamic, vegetarian-friendly cuisine.

Alyssa M.

Yelp
The refreshing menu made me very intrigued about this place, so I knew it has to be on my list of things to try the next time I was in Asheville. Tucked in the arts district - plenty of parking but can be hard to find if you don't look for the door! The atmosphere was very cute, lot of vibrant colors and plants. Menu reminded me of a fusion of different cultures that influence Hawaiian cuisine. I had to order the Filipino food - with their special in the summer being kinilaw. Very fun to see their interpretation of the food. Presentation was very lovely and colorful. The ube scallops were excellent. The slight sweetness of the ube mash really balanced out the salty briny taste of the scallops and the edamame rounded out the textures with adding some bite in there. The seasoning of the taro chips were also sweet and salty, which was very nice. The dessert (i wish I ordered two) were also a treat for the senses. A soft butter mochi cake was chewy and slightly sweet. And the caramelized pineapple was such a fun texture as well. There's always a thing that Filipinos (or just Asians In general) say about sweets. If they say "it's not too sweet" then it's a perfect compliment for the dessert. And that's how I felt about the pineapple butter mochi dessert. What a refreshing restaurant to have from the barrage of southern farm to table restaurant in the Carolina's . Diversity is always good, and that goes for cuisine as well!

Christian B.

Yelp
If they have the mochiko chicken on the menu you must get it! It is a wonderful dish and this restaurant knows exactly how to make it well. This just one of the delicious options they have. Not to mention, dessert is very indulgent and wonderful. The service is great and the ambiance is very fun inside! I really recommend going here.

Iris H.

Yelp
So so good. Sissy and I went here for our birthday dinner and ordered the Huli Huli duck, garlic shrimp, chicken Hakka, grilled book choy, the ube pie and the tequila colada. It was towards the end of the dinner hour so were able to sit outside right away. The patio area is nice and allows you to people watch pretty easily. The drink www delicious without being too sweet and the chicken Hakka was amazing. The garlic shrimp was surprisingly bland and the sides didn't have a ton of flavor. There was a lot of rice and not as much shrimp. Both the duck and the chicken Hakka were pretty delicious. The duck was a bit salty but otherwise well cooked and the radish it came with was a nice crisp finish. The chicken hakka was by far my favorite and was well seasoned. The sesame oil was used in moderation and the drink was a great pairing. The dessert was a three layer tart that was topped with a preserved pineapple. The top two layers were fantastic and blended together well with the pineapple. The crust at the bottom though three the dessert off and I definitely wanted and expected a better balance of flavors. Ideally I would take out the crust bottom and keep everything else. Overall it was a nice evening dinner but I'd only go back for specific things.

Kenya M.

Yelp
Was so excited to try some Hawaiian food but was sorely disappointed. I ordered the beef burger dish. Beef was cooked to a bitter, dark color. I had to slice off the top and bottom to get to anything edible. The mushroom sauce was most definitely canned. The cocktail, tequila based, was bitter and awful. Although I have to say it had plenty of alcohol to make the experience bearable. Sorry, its a no for me. Service was excellent though

Sandy W.

Yelp
I'll start by saying the restaurant is really cool and has good ambiance. We were intrigued when we saw a Hawaiian restaurant while visiting Asheville but the food didn't quite make the cut, it wasn't bad or anything like that but I didn't think it was special. Their house made spam was alright but not as good as I thought it would be. They used coconut rice and I think it would be better with regular white rice. (There's also only two pieces for $8...) The poke bowl was okay but not bad either. Sauce was too salty in my opinion. Either way, I'm glad I tried it but don't know if I'll revisit when I go back to Asheville.

Jacqueline T.

Yelp
Highly recommend if you like Hawaiian/Filipino food, or want to try that cuisine but haven't. The food is fresh, fun, and a good value, and the cocktails are super tasty! The vibe inside is also super moody and romantic. Great spot for a nice night out. I highly recommend the Musubi to start: Teriyaki glazed house-made spam with coconut sticky rice and toasted nori. The value of the Poke Bowl is insane -- you get so much for your money: Ahi poke with macadamia nuts, scallion and Hawaiian chili flakes, coconut sticky rice, cucumber, radish, local greens, fresh mango salsa, tempura avocado, and coconut syrup. Definitely try the desserts, as the owner is a pastry chef. There are way too many selections to choose from!

Jessica E.

Yelp
Bangin. This is the only restaurant that brought me back to the local eats when I lived in Hawaii. Great work

John Y.

Yelp
I stopped by their bar for dinner after an awesome Yelp event next door and loved the teriyaki steak entree and mai tai! I didn't care for the musubi app or Negroni however I grew up in Hawaii and had at least 1 musubi per week at my school as well as a Foodland on the North Shore so I guess I am something of a musubi connoisseur! I used to love picking out the ones with heavily fried spam and a layer of grease soaked into the rice. I think their problem is they make their own spam in house rather than using the canned version. It was my first time trying a Negroni so can't fault them there.

Anthony T.

Yelp
Brah, da 'ono grindz broke da mouth! Which, roughly translated means the food was so plentiful and delicious that one could eat until his or her mouth was unable to do so any longer. Thats exactly how I felt when I had RosaBees for the first time. RosaBees is a Polynesian restaurant with a pastry chef's flare. The executive chef at RosaBees is Melissa Gray--a pastry chef who you may have seen on season 2 of Netflix's Sugar Rush! The service exceeded my expectations. The food exceeded my expectations. I was beyond delighted with our dining experience.

Miranda H.

Yelp
We loved it!! The atmosphere was modern and fun, food was flavorful and delicious, service was fast and our non alcoholic drinks were tropical and refreshing. We would definitely come back!

Carol R.

Yelp
Initially, I was frustrated by the seating experience. Rosabees accepts reservations through Resy, but you can't specify outdoor seating, so I called and was told reservations were for indoor seating only and outdoor was for walk ups. That seemed inefficient to me, but whatever. When we got there, there were three (!!) empty tables outside, so we figured we would be seated right away. Instead, we were added to a waitlist and told it was a fifteen minute wait. After fifteen minutes of staring at EMPTY tables, I went and asked about our wait and was told we had another eight minutes although no one could explain to me why. Then, one minute later the hostess came out and said something went wrong with the waitlist and that our table was actually ready. Which lead me to believe that our table was probably ready that whole time and no one remembered to seat us. Anyways, on to the food. We were there during brunch, which is a different menu than dinner. I got the salad and my partner got the Loco Moco. The salad had tropical flavors with pineapple and macadamia nuts, and I enjoyed it. The Loco Moco was described as a burger, but it was more like a Salisbury Steak dish. Tasty, but not as expected. We ended with the Pineapple Upside Down Mochi Cake. This was delicious and a good size to split so as not to be too heavy. In summary, the food was a solid four but I deducted a star for the initial interaction and price for the size of our dishes.

Bob V.

Yelp
Photos from a recent @rosabees brunch - had a great time and a fantastic meal Banana-Nut French Toast with fresh berries, real maple syrup and macadamia nuts Kalua Hash - two free range eggs, house fried potatoes, jackfruit, sweet onion, bell pepper, "chili peppa watah" Loco Moco - grilled Beyond Meat burger, coconut sticky rice, sunny egg, shiitake brown gravy, bok choy, scallions

Jeff W.

Yelp
Great fresh flavors, comfortable and unique interior and friendly wait staff. There is a noticeable height difference between the wall bench and the freestanding chairs opposite the wall bench.

Koren T.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. All the dishes we had were great. Highly recommend for the foodies out there. The chicken special was awesome (can't remember the name). The chocolate cake really topped it off. Great experience.

Kathy R.

Yelp
Fabulous food and service. The food was carefully prepared and served with care. Will definitely go again and again

Anisha H.

Yelp
I will say this if you've been to Hawai'i craving spam musubi and your Godmom is Filipino who's no longer with you, and you're craving her excellent lumpia. This is not the place to satisfy either craving. I was so excited when I came across this place during a Google search for my wedding. I lit up because I haven't seen any good Hawaiian-inspired places in a long time. My fiancé hasn't had the pleasure of experiencing Hawai'i just yet, and my Godmother passed away last head before he could taste her amazing lumpia rolls. So I said win-win, one-stop-shop... Let's go! The location of the restaurant was different but fun! We loved the site pen and the vibe of the area. When we walked into the restaurant, there were only two tables seated. No one came to the front to greet us. Yet, they all stayed at the bar and yelled across the room. I thought that was odd, but the place was pretty small, but still, it's a business. Anyway, we asked if they had availability for two people. They proceeded to ask if we had a reservation, and we said no. We found them and were hoping to grab dinner quickly. They said they had no open availability for tables (as my fiancé and I looked at each other and the only two tables with guests), but we could sit at the bar if we wished. So we did, and both said, I hope this isn't how they daily operate their business, especially on a Saturday at 5 pm. At this time it was four parties in the entire restaurant, and I can list the number of people at each one. It was more people working than visiting. We could not comprehend why they were making such a big deal about us not having a reservation. We sat down, and the bartender provided us with starter waters and access to the menu. With happiness, I ordered the spam musubi and lumpia to start. Then I noticed everyone that worked in the restaurant and was at the front had on masks, but the workers in the back did not. Don't get me wrong, and I could care less either way; however, don't request that your guests walk inside with masks on. We had all of five steps from the door to the bar, and they looked at us like we were crazy not having on masks. But then we looked through the peephole into the kitchen, and every person back there wasn't wearing a mask, including the baker. That was a bit frustrating because it made us feel like we weren't welcome fully. After all, we forgot our masks. When the food came out, it looked ok, and the spam certainly didn't have the teriyaki glaze I'm used to in my spam. The lumpia seemed different, and when I took my first bite, I knew, not even close to my Godmothers, but besides that, it wasn't good at all. It was filled with purple cabbage and not meat. The meat makes lumpia so good, and they missed it entirely, which I feel caused the lack of flavor to the roll. Then the spam musubi tasted Fisk dry to me. There was hardly any teriyaki on the spam, and my fiancé even noticed, and it was his first time trying it. I wouldn't say I liked it, and I shred that with the bartender. When our entrees came out, those were good and filling. I ended up boxing mine up and making two additional meals out of it. It's a ton of food if you're looking for food quantity and flavor. My fiancé enjoyed his food, but he said it was a piece of fish and some veggies with extremely sticky rice. Out of four items, we ordered only one thing that was excellent and satisfying hence my reflection of rate.

Yelp
After hiking all morning we built up quite the appetite for a nice brunch meal on Saturday. We split some Ahi Massago Poke w/ chili's then ordered our own dishes. Everything was fresh super clean flavors deserts were one of kind ! Make reservations. Free Parking. Tons of art to gaze upon.

Yelp
We came here for dinner on our last night in town for my bachelorette. They were wonderful and the food was fantastic. I got the poke bowl and it was phenomenal. We loved the fried rice and the shrimp. Cocktails were creative and fun. Will definitely come again the next time I'm in Ashville.

Yelp
As a local Ashevillian, I am extremely disappointed to write this review as RosaBee's has been on my list of favorite restaurants until last night. My brother, sister-in-law, and five of their friends were visiting Asheville from out-of-state. I was excited to send over a list of recommendations for restaurants and bars for them to try, RosaBee's being chief among them. I've had two amazing experiences there and knew they'd enjoy it. Their party of seven noted on the reservation that there was a member of the group who has a severe gluten allergy. To try and pare a very long story down, the crux of the problem was that they were assured by their server that an appetizer was GF, and it ended up including an element of beer. The person who is GF in their party has an allergy so severe that she was then forced to go purge what she'd eaten to avoid emergent health complications. Instead of doing the normal thing and comp-ing their meal, the GM/EC (who'd also been asked specifically whether this dish was GF and failed to tell them) blamed the server and blamed the party for "not listing it on their reservation," which, of course, they had. The server was so devastated by his mistake that he offered to pay for their meal out of his pocket, and upon learning that, the GM/EC (not sure which one) told the party he'd "reimburse" the server (as opposed to just taking care of the bill himself), but that it was a "learning experience" for the server and blamed him for the mistake. He then hung around to try and make small talk with the table to win back their good graces, and when they followed up to ensure if the server would be made whole, he nastily responded, "Why don't you try putting a little trust in me?" I am always reticent to leave a bad review for a small business because I know how much good word-of-mouth makes an impact. However, in this case, I sent RosaBee's a group of folks who I dearly love thinking they'd be well looked-after. Mistakes happen to everyone in any business, but this restaurant's leadership passed the buck, blamed their guests, their staff, and failed to be solutions-oriented (even after someone at their table had to vomit to avoid a trip to the ER and *still* remained gracious and understanding). A gross and unfortunate way to handle what could've easily been a small bump in an otherwise great experience. Will not be returning to RosaBee's and will no longer be recommending it to people.

Yelp
This place is amazing and reservations are highly encouraged since it gets quite busy. We made reservations a couple of days before. We sat outside because the weather was great. We ordered the Huli huli ducks wings, Lumpia, Mochiko chicken, lava love, Tequila colada, and the Monkeypod Mai Tai. The mochiko chicken was crispy, well seasoned, and juicy. Everything was delicious and we will definitely come back next time we visit. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been here twice and the first experience was closer to a 3.5 and the second was a 1.5 and I will not return. This is a place that a tourist would enjoy because they would "think" It is Asheville but there are better options. The food is presented well but It is not good enough to justify the price. If you get indoor seating the experience is better. The patio is not a good vibe. I can't be sure of where the bug came from but I had a bug in my food that couldn't crawled in from the outside. That happens when eating outside but It was enough doubt to turn my stomach. The staff were all nice enough but not to the level you would expect for cost. I'm also always annoyed at 3% kitchen appreciation charge. Pay your kitchen staff... please. Two sodas in cans were $8. Appetizer portions are tiny. Not worth the cost. This is definitely not a place a local would enjoy consistently. It's definitely upcharged for tourists. If you want something for Instagram... this might be your place. If you would like a good meal, not so much. If you do happen to go here, go for brunch. I see that the attempt is to be high end restaurant but it's in the wrong location for what it is "trying" to be. If the food was better and the overall experience was better I would not be complaining about price. If the hostess and the servers were more attentive and welcoming, I would not be complaining about price. I also am a local but have been participating in mini "staycations" and checking out places that may be fun. I have no problem with places that cater to tourists, as a local I can't imagine how disappointing a place like this would be to someone on vacation. I had two people with me and I felt awful that this was my suggestion. They are not the type to leave a review but we did not have a good time at all.

Yelp
Went to RosaBees in Asheville looking forward to eating some great Hawaiian food. The restaurant had pretty good reviews and so we had high hopes. The service was timely and friendly so that was a positive. The ambiance was so so. It felt like a casual restaurant. Wasn't bad but wasn't great. Unfortunately there was something left to be desired when it came to the food. I say this with the benefit of having lived in Hawaii. We got the poke and Musubi as an appetizer. The poke was fresh and the accompanying crisps were delicious but there was an unnecessary amount of wasabi in the poke. The musubi was good but it was comically small - no need to be overly artisanal just serve a full size musibi. For entrees, my wife got loco moco and I got huli huli chicken. Both were decent but the same trend continued where the food was trying to be more fancy than it should have been. Also there should be Mac salad and there wasn't. Anyone who goes to Hawaii will know this is a staple that's served with everything and RosaBees didn't have it.

Yelp
Cute spot in the RAD district. Great for Hawaii inspired dinner and sharable deserts. The lumpia was not like any lumpia I've had before (I've had a lot). While it was not a familiar take on the popular Filipino snack the flavors were great. The fried chicken has the lightest and crispiest crust and the wasabi mash is out of this world! Char su pork was nice and I would definitely order it again. While all the savories were great my favorite things were definitely deserts. The grilled cheese bubble waffle was cheesy heaven and the Table side s'mores were as fun as they were tasty. They somehow infused maximum umami flavor in the tofu main. Even though I'm not vegetarian I would order that in a heartbeat. Overall I didn't have anything I didn't like here. I'll have to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Excellent menu and friendly staff that are accommodating. The menu is also very vegan and vegetarian friendly which is nice. As someone who loves Hawaiian cuisine, I was a big fan of the tofu musubi. Offering a vegetarian Loco Moco is also a plus! Zero complaints and definitely recommend if in Asheville!

Yelp
We had a lovely Sunday lunch at RosaBees today. It is a new restaurant at the Foundation that serves Hawaiian cuisine. I was really impressed with the dishes we ordered. The highlight was the Mochi fried chicken but the pork was delicious too. Part of their menu had pairings of savory dishes with cupcakes. We didn't get any but will definitely try in the future. We also had the bubble waffle which was insanely good. It was more like a fluffy pancake filled with gruyere, drizzled with passion fruit. Good passion fruit not the artificial tasting stuff. We had a hard time finding it but just look for the pink pineapple on the wall. (I'm posting a photo of it)

Yelp
the food was presented beautifully and the server was super nice and had amazing service. the restaurant itself had such a nice vibe and i loved the low lighting and pink fluorescent lights. the spam musubi was honestly overpriced and it was nice it was a homemade spam but in my opinion canned spam tastes sm better. the belly bowl i got was super good and actually filled me up and the pork belly was super tender :) my boyfriend got the teri beef which supposed was wagyu but it honestly tasted like regular steak... not a great value for it being 40 dollars... the okonomoyaki was delicious and the moving bonito flakes on top was so cool. the only bad thing was the pineapple cocktail it was just watered down and tasted like lime only... overall i would come back here again due to very good customer service and pretty good food for the price :)
