"This gorgeous vacation spot, tucked away on a forested peninsula on Orcas Island, offers some serious waterfront views overlooking Cascade Bay. At the resort’s Mansion Restaurant, the menu highlights locally sourced ingredients in dishes like smoked halibut and potato croquettes and coal-roasted duck with grilled zucchini and ramp pistou." - Megan Hill, Zoe Baillargeon

Yelp
Beautiful location. The nicest marina I've been to in a long time. Food was fantastic!

Yelp
Disappointing Experience; Departed Early We chose Rosario Resort for our final boating stop before returning home. The marina is small but clean and adequate (Note: all metal docks), and a deckhand cheerfully greeted us upon arrival to assist with dock lines. The resort's grounds seemed tired but with extraordinary views of the surrounding island and East Sound. The large lawn areas had plenty of very nice Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, croquet set and tether ball. Bags of Ice were complimentary as were the showers. We were told smaller slips our boat's size were all rented so were placed in a larger one and charged commensurately. But the marina was less than half full during our stay, and we were charged more for the larger one. Moreover, the showers had no hot water at our arrival, and the bathrooms did not appear to have been serviced recently. The restaurant seemed to be going for a pretty decent Mexican cantina vibe (Mariachi music playing, Spanish-speaking staff), but oddly offered only American sandwiches and pizza. The bartender did not speak English. It's unclear whether pets are welcome, as signs noted state law prohibiting pets indoors; yet local staff told us our large dog was welcome inside. We appreciate they are undergoing a material renovation, but to charge nearly $100/night for a 26' boat while offering mediocre services represents poor value. We requested a refund for our second night, but are receiving back only an amount for the smaller slip we wanted but did not get.

Yelp
Worst business management ever. Our room was filthy when we got there. Took them 45 min to get us a new room. Talked to several people that were not happy with their rooms and devices. The staff said they were struggling.

Yelp
Gotta agree with all the negative reviews. We loved Rosario last summer so we decided to moor our boat here for 4 days this summer during our summer Islands trip. We were not informed at the time of our booking that the entire resort is under renovation and the pool is closed. We have a very disappointed 3 year old our hands. The grill has a very very limited menu of pizza and cold cut sandwiches. I get it; new owners, renovations, summer of transition BUT either shut down for the season or inform your guests and offer reduced rates. We spent over $400 to moor here and this place is a joke. Don't see ourselves giving them another chance in the future. When you deceit your guests, we have no reason to return. Plenty of other beautiful resorts in the Islands.

Yelp
Amazing views from our suite...big,spacious and clean units. The mansion and the restaurant is under renovation when we stayed so there's only one restaurant that is open and their menu is limited.Called the customer service and asked if we can cook in our suite reservation,he told us that there are no available cooking wares and we have to provide on our own but when we got to our unit......the kitchen is complete with everything including pots, plates, glasses and utensils.I was misinformed.Hopefully when we come back, they have more food options.

Yelp
Rosario Village is under new management, this is not the spot you and your friends remember fondly. Keyless entry and other ridiculous "perks" are lame spins to mask that there is no one onsite to help you with anything that comes up. No front desk, no manager. Your interaction will be with a third-party call center that is completely unfamiliar with the property. I left personal belongings behind, and even when I offered to pay for them to be mailed to me, they could not make that happen. Avoid at all costs while new ownership figures out how to get this depressing and unhospitable motel into working order.

Yelp
Such a stunning setting, wow! I've had the pleasure of visiting Orcas at least once a year since I was a little kid, and finally had the chance to stay at Rosario Resort. While the rooms aren't modern, the views from the Harborside buildings are fabulous. What a lovely spot to sit out on the deck and have a peaceful breakfast. I enjoy walking around the property, and hope to visit someday during the summer to take advantage of the waterside adult swimming pool--one of the best PNW pool views I've seen. (There is a kid-friendly outdoor pool located at the center of the property, and an indoor salt water pool located adjacent to the spa that's open year-round.) The charming mansion is fun to explore, and the restaurant offers tasty menus items (with vegetarian and vegan options, hooray). Although it's fun to stay in different vacation rentals across the island, I'd be happy to come back to Rosario in the future. It's located conveniently close to Cascade Lake and Mountain Lake, plus it's not too much of a drive to get into town.

Yelp
23xx Suites are very much used. No kettle, no soap bar for neither of the bathrooms, no bedding for the second bed. Kitchen furniture is sooooo old.

B--- S.

Yelp
Stayed in harborside building for two nights after their recent sale. The mansion is closed and no indication of a reception desk (there isn't one at the moment!). Had trouble checking in so had to go to the bar to try to find someone that spoke English. The room is mostly nice and had a view but lots of little issues. For $170 a night I'd expect things to go smoother.

Hope H.

Yelp
The views here are absolutely stunning! The mansion, spa and restaurant are shut down for renovations. We stayed in the 2300 building and it was very unimpressive. 80's bathroom, needs an updated coffee station, dated furniture, no trash pickup so we smelled the neighbors trash in the hallway for a day and a half. The bed and views were great, but wouldn't stay in those units again.

Yelp
Worst ever. First all staff were let go and the mansion and restaurant closed by the new owner. Bad move. Now the maintenance staff is running the grill at the marina. Not fully bilingual so there are problems with communication. They do not have sugar. None. So if you take your coffee with sugar and you don't have your own you are out of luck. They do not have a budget to buy sugar. Very odd. Very limited menu. Next the pool is there, it is full of water but you cannot use it. They have not hired staff to run or maintain it so on a super hot day when you have paid top dollar to moor your boat at the dock you cannot go swimming. They are gaslighting people who call to make reservations telling them the pool is open when it is not. Disappointed adults and children. The grounds are rundown and the planters have weeds instead of plants. No flowering baskets on the lamp posts. Sigh. It is just a very sad place to go especially if you grew up working there and going there in the summer and other times of year. It appears the new owners are hell bent to remove a source of joy from many peoples lives. I will hang on to my fond memories of Rosario past and hope someone else takes over soon before the Rosario we all knew and loved is completely gone into the past.

Yelp
Great stay, celebrating our anniversary, beautiful location, great grounds and marina. Rooms are good size, meager, but clean and comfortable. Coffee, microwave and fridge, which is great, clean shower with great water pressure. Restaurant and bar are nice, food is excellent. The staff was wonderful, especially Anika at the front desk, was very friendly, and helpful, her professionalism and sincerity made the stay even better! Highly recommend and we'll be back!

Allison Paige B.

Yelp
The room was completely unacceptable, nothing like the pictures, and we had a completely appalling experience trying to get help from the front desk / management. The new management is atrocious and we ended up spending hours everyday just trying to get a decent bed, working toilet, and a shower that drains (we didn't even bother complaining about the dirt and broken stove). So after we splurged on a suite at the Rosario for a much needed vacation, my partner and I ended up sleeping in a dirty room on the tiny fold out Murphy bed with our feet hanging off. We booked a harbor side suite and when we arrived it was filthy and looked nothing like the pictures, then we noticed the bed was broken and had a huge dip in the middle. So we called the "front desk" (now a service line offsite) and sent an email to management. We'd call, they said they'd call us back, they wouldn't, and then we'd call again and start over with a new person. First we were promised a new room, then a new bed, and then we were just ignored. During all this we realized the toilet didn't flush, the shower didn't drain (and was also full of hair), and the stove in the dilapidated kitchen wasn't working. Many phone calls later and about 75% into our stay, we were finally given a new room. So late on our last night we moved all our stuff over - only to find an old dirty room with an old uncomfortable mattress (at least this one wasn't completely broken!). So we can confirm that at least 2 of the rooms look nothing like the pictures online. I finally heard back from management 1.5 days after I emailed! I received what looked like an automated response saying they are sorry and would address the issue right away. At this point checkout was in a few hours, so we didn't bother responding. The other reviews seem to be from before the new management took over and apparently neglected maintenance, took misleading pictures, and closed any onsite support. So head my warning that is you have ANY problems during your stay they wont be addressed. This was by far my worst accommodation experience, and I've stayed in some pretty cheap hostels. At least I had a nice view while I spent half my vacation playing phone tag with the service line!

Lauren B.

Yelp
The landscape is gorgeous. But that is all you'll get. EVERYTHING is shut down for renovation and they'll gaslight you about amenities. Spend your money elsewhere, you are paying to stay in a ghost town.

Lillian R.

Yelp
5/5 for brunch here. The braised pork belly hash delivered on all fronts. Crispy outside on the pork belly, perfectly braised fat that melts in your mouth, runny eggs on top and and crispy potatoes to hold them all up. Chef Stephanie is crushing it, and the waitstaff were friendly and prompt. My server Kimberly never let my mimosa go empty and was patient with my indecisiveness. Do check the menu as it changes seasonally.

Dan Y.

Yelp
Popped in for a rainy Saturday breakfast.....not busy at all! Seated right away and Piper was our waitress, and was very attentive and the view made the food second hand....lol. Good value for the amount of food, will return for a evening cocktail in the lounge...

Brian K.

Yelp
I recently had a chance to eat here during a boat trip. It was a great experience. We ate in the bar area and the staff was very professional and accommodating. Our waiter was energetic and had a great sense of humor. He happily addressed the numerous extra requests from our table. I was impressed with his people skills. I ordered a burger and fries because I was in the mood for comfort food. My burger was very good, but the fries were perfect. They may have been the best fries I've had ever. They were the perfect size and had a beautiful golden brown exterior. The inside of my fries were hot and perfectly fluffy. Bite after bite was mouthfuls of golden brown fluffy goodness. From now on, they are the fries by which all others will be judged.

Yelp
We really enjoy the Rosario Hotel for the hotel room views. We stay at the Harbor View Suits for the best ocean views and views of water plans landing / taking off. We've never been to the insight dinner but we have stopped in the gift shop, yoga class, and pools (3) all of which we loved. Staff was very friendly and always accommodating!

K S.

Yelp
Pool was amazing! Great value for the location. We found it quite relaxing. Try to get a room on the top floors as the sound travels through floors.

Jackson N.

Yelp
Good food, clean kitchen, nice staff will visit again. Got food and was seated quickly at mansion restaurant.

Dori P.

Yelp
I want so much to give 5 stars but can't . The food at the mansion was good but could of been so much better. Limited choices of food and wine . Out of some things The mansion looks very used and needs so many improvements with worn rugs and furniture . The bathroom / showers in marina are very dated and worn out . Only 1 shower in men's room was working It's so sad as have been coming here by boat for many years and have seen it in better days. It is such a beautiful location . Couldn't have a better view from the. Adult pool.

Rachel G.

Yelp
I generally don't leave reviews but in this case I couldn't help myself. I went to the rosario lounge to relax by the fire and catch up on some computer work a couple of days ago - 4/20 - I believe - and was helped by the bartender with the little hat. If looking down my shirt constitutes good service , I'd give him an 'A'. He was quite talkative , rarely looking me in the eye choosing instead to check me out - no doubt hoping that I'd agree with him - that he was quite a catch and that I should be drooling with the anticipation of being with him later that night. Ive been on this island all my life - and I've never been so offended. Rosario - whoever is doing the hiring - rethink that - ok ? Really ? This is your best staffing option ?

Yelp
We stopped by to check out the resort in December. Jason, at the front desk, was very informative and friendly. We also saw the woman through the bakery window making pastries and asked Jason if we could purchase some. He had the lady come out and introduced us. Then they gave us some freshly made pastries on the house! (Jason knew it was my husband's birthday) such a kind gesture and memorable experience!

April Y.

Yelp
They sent an email ahead of our stay and had great info about getting there and checking in. Let them know when you are arriving on the ferry it is very helpful. When we arrived one went in to check in and had a great experience Jason was very friendly and guided us where to go. When we got to the room I was a little nervous the connecting door didn't lock so I called and maintenance was there to fix it within an hour. Another room we had however didn't even have a lock which does not seem safe and it had a bit of a stale smell to it. We had 3 of us in one room but it was set up for 2. Beds were not comfortable in any room. The grounds are great lots of sitting areas and viewpoints. We had 2 Harborside rooms so we had a good view of the harbor. The mansion is fun to check out so much neat stuff. The gift shop had a great variety of items and I found most not to be too expensive. The museum has some great pictures and vintage furniture, library was sadly closed. We had dinner at the mansion twice, since it was limited capacity without a reservation on one visit they were able to fit us in the lounge. Ian was a great server in the lounge answered all our questions and managed tables well. Burger was amazing so was the Gnocchi, smoked halibut croquettes were yummy. The second time we made reservations and sat in the dining area with a water view, Anne was our server. Anne was also very friendly and personable. We all had burgers this visit and we tried desert. Banana bread with espresso ice cream, the ice cream overpowered the banana bread but was still very good. The Strawberry Rubarb with mousse was absolutely amazing!!

Yelp
The was a woman at the desk in the shop when I checked in. She was very customer service oriented. The "spa" is in dire need of an update. The showers were not clean. I recommend bringing your own shower sandals, hair dryer and lotion because none of these things are provided at the "spa". I let the Spa Manager know that they were out of body lotion in the dressing/shower room. The Spa Manager told me that they have to order it even though the spa shop has a ton of body lotions for sale. I didn't want to wait in the shop wearing only a robe so I waited in the waiting room to be called for my massage. It was 15 minutes past my booked appointment. I walked into the shop and saw the masseuse gabbing with the Spa Manager. The masseuse told me later that she had no idea I was waiting for her even though i had let the Spa Manager know I didn't want to wait in the shop. There are no treatment rooms here even though there is a picture of a treatment room on their site. I was led to a room in the museum which was full of museum items. I heard people talking the entire time I was trying to relax. It was not a relaxing experience. It was very bright in the room because there are no curtains. The massage was good. Don't ask for cupping as an add on. It wasn't done correctly. It was not worth it. I was very disappointed. If you're looking for a real spa experience to treat yourself, this is not the place.

Chuck O.

Yelp
We certainly enjoyed the view and the area. Had a delicious dinner at the main building. The rooms could use some modernizing but ok for the most part.

E. G.

Yelp
What a lovely place! The views were spectacular and the mansion is historical and beautiful. It is still possible to see some of the history around the resort and some buildings are even dated. The builder was clearly a visionary. We really enjoyed our stay and we choose the same place next time we visit Orcas.

Tanis L.

Yelp
The marina at the Rosario Resort & Spa is a great place to spend a few days while boating and get off the boat and go for a walk, explore the rocks, or the surrounding nature. We (my mom, my dad, my sister, and I) stayed at the marina a few times while boating in the San Juan Islands while I was growing up. If we were lucky we would be the first boat there, other times the place would be jam-packed. The marina itself is well designed to keep any rough waters out. One time on the approach to the San Juan Islands, the water was rough with about 3-5 foot swells (which feels huge when on a 25-28 foot Bayliner and some of the waves hit the boat side-on). I was freaked out about the boat potentially sinking and my dad had to do some fancy maneuvering to get us closer to shore where the waves weren't so choppy without hitting the bottom. The marina has a barricade in the form of a spit of land between the marina and Cascade Bay. So when we got to the marina, the waves were well blocked out and the roughness of the waters outside did not carry inside to the marina. I loved exploring the surrounding land and we even got up close to deer one time while out on a walk. There are Canadian Geese, so watch out for goose poop. There is a marina pool which is fun to take a swim in and you can get food at the neighboring Cascade Bay Grill or up at the Resort & Spa. One particularly memorable experience at the Resort was going to a dinner buffet and attending a performance by a pianist, I even bought the musician's CD! The rocks around the marina were fun to explore as a kid and I would get particularly excited when I found starfish. Though, watch out for bees... I was on the rocks by the Cascade Bay Grill and got stung by a bee and let loose a very loud scream. It freaked the people in the restaurant out and hurt, but the bees like the marina too. So come bee prepared! Still a fun place to visit and go for a walk around the marina.

Amber S.

Yelp
My father worked here in 1987. His name was Richard D Smith. Is anyone here familiar with him? I'll give you 5 stars because this mostly dosent have anything to do with the hotel.

Julia Elinor P.

Yelp
The proximity to Moran state park is wonderful and the bang for buck was also pretty great. We stayed for 3 nights for 100/night. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I think where Rosario feel short was food and cleaning services. We booked a hillside king and our view was great, however the bathroom was covered in black hairs from the previous guest both on the floor and in the shower. We also were only provided with 2 small garbage cans for 3 nights stay and a half a roll of toilet paper. We ordered "room service" but needed to pick it up from the main lobby. Food was fine, but I would try to support local before ordering on the resort. The resort also wasn't particularly busy and we shared a wall with another couple, and we can hear everything they're doing and saying. Overall, I think location and view outweighs the bad, but Rosario needs a renovation and more attention to detail.

Rob B.

Yelp
We stayed at Rosario over Labor Day weekend. I think the term "resort" might be a bit much here. The mansion is beautiful inside. However, guests don't stay in the mansion. Our room (in the 2300 bldg) was basically a 1970's mid-range motel. Stained carpets. Dingy hallways. Basic amenities. Nothing to write home about. However, the beds were very nice, and our view was spectacular. The spa and pool area is really nice and well kept up. The staff was all very friendly. But overall, the "resort" really needs a facelift.

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
The truth of the matter is, I spent a lot of time at Rosario over almost two weeks, but wasn't a guest at the resort. I rented a house just around the corner, and walked down to the resort once or twice a day. Sunrise. Lots of people will tell you about sunset and they're not wrong, but sunrise is where the money is. There are some lovely walks and sidewalks throughout the property, and if you keep your eyes open you can even find some unofficial trails. Wander down to the dock around sunrise and you'll see some killer skies through the masts and over the seaplane dock.

Leslie W.

Yelp
After enjoying time last summer at Rosario, we returned with friends to enjoy our birthday weekend only to find it wasn't the same special place it once was. I am not sure if it's the management or they don't want families to come and would rather cater to a different demographic, but I did not feel as though the service in general was up to par nor accommodating. Even booking 6 months ahead of time, our request to have rooms nearby was shrugged off and neglected despite numerous calls, texts and in person calls confirming this was possible. Room service to bring extras was lacking and our room was in dire need of a face lift and maintenance. Our toilet wouldn't flush either which was non-sanitary and convenient. The cleaning service also left someone else's shoes on our deck from a previous guest. And we had to make several requests to the front desk to get more coffee packets brought over. Overall, hoping with new management we see some changes as this isn't the place I remember from last year and my childhood.

Yelp
We stayed at the Rosario Resort over Memorial Day weekend. Here is a list of pros and cons: Pros: - Gorgeous, waterfront views from our room. - Very comfy king-sized bed. - Lovely indoor and outdoor pools, plus a nice indoor hot tub. - The hotel property is gorgeous; perfect for walking around and enjoying nature. - The spa is quite nice. I had a lovely massage this morning. - Staff is friendly and welcoming. Cons: - A bit rustic for a "resort" - rooms are dated and have very thin walls. We expected something a bit more luxurious given how much we paid for the room. - Food at both the restaurants was overpriced. Tonight I paid nearly $30 for a salmon Caesar salad at the Cascade Bay Grill. For the price, I expected a gigantic salad... but it wasn't a particularly sizeable portion. - Serious cleanup is needed in some areas. The paths around the property are covered in goose poop, and the women's restroom near one of the outdoor pools is in pretty bad shape. - The road that leads up to the guest suites is rough and poorly paved. I rolled my ankle trying to walk down the path earlier and now have a sprain. We have enjoyed our stay overall but will likely stay elsewhere if we return to Orcas.

Marin J.

Yelp
For the photos, I expected something more luxurious, in keeping with the price and the natural drop dead beautiful, stellarly stunning view. It is worth going for a drive to walk around the grounds. But leave it there. There is a old tired golf resort feel to the place. We wanted to try the drinks as the website showed promise and skill and possible originality and my companion mixes as a hobby. We arrived and the bar was closed. Daytime, and although the bartender was there.... it was... closed. Ok we'd have to wait until 5:00 or so for dinner service for a drink. Because well late afternoon was no mans land. Alright. We'll go look in the gift shop. Uh...all the warmth and ambiance of a ferry crossing gift shop. Wait. I've seen better ferry crossing gift shops tht make you really want to buy things from them. Yes. ok. By then. We decided to forget waiting for the bar to open. This place has promise if you want to bring grandma and grandpa...they probably will feel right at home.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay at the Rosario Resort. We had a basic king room, partial harbor view. It was spacious, comfortably appointed, and was a welcome respite from all our day's activities outdoors. The overall resort is also lovely. Featuring a spa, multiple pools (indoors and out), comprehensive fitness room with classes, and multiple eateries (the fabulous Mansion Restaurant, which would be a top destination even in San Fransisco, and their lounge restaurant and bar. The rooms are a ten minute walk at from the main house where all amenities are located, and the resort & restaurants keep, imo, short hours of 8am to 9pm, but that's part of island life. Rosario is minutes away from Moran State Patk, a must visit for hiking, swimming, running, picnics, and the fabulous views from Mt Constitution.

Hingdi B.

Yelp
Location/Parking: On Orcas Island, past Eastsound, right outside of Moran State Park. The check-in, restaurant, mini-museum, etc. are located at the mansion, but please note - the rooms that you stay in are NOT at the mansion. Service: Front desk and house keeping were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms: We stayed at a Harborside - smallish room with just the 2 queens and requisite dresser/TV stand with small microwave and mini-fridge. Had a balcony with great view of the water. The room has undergone some renovation in the past 10 years - newerish dark furniture, but the bathrooms are still very dated 70s maybe? Amenities: My son and husband enjoyed the 2 pools - one outdoor/one indoor. We did not partake of the fitness room, although that was available. They have shuffle board as well. Please remember this is not your traditional resort per se. It's a historic site and I can imagine it's very hard to keep this place up. The view is AMAZING. Recommendation: We were there off season in May - stay 2 nights get 3rd free and it was a great deal. We'll probably be back for that.

Yelp
Came for our anniversary. View was breathtaking and the room was nice. The grounds are well taken care of. The staff was friendly but we would like to mention Brendan from Anchorage Alaska. Our last dinner on Saturday night was at the grill in the marina. This young man was kind and engaging with us. His recommendations for cocktails and dinner was perfect as was the conversation. The caliber of professionalism speaks for itself. We did not experience this in the more expensive main restaurant. Don't get me ring ! It was good but the service in the grill was great. On arrival we where taking a selfie in front of the mansion. The grounds keeper , mowing the lawn , shuts down his mower and takes a pick of us. Not his job, not even close to his duties but he did and was so polite as well. I wish we could have got his name but a picture will do It's a 3 star resort but these two employees make it a 5 star in out book It's the little things

Candace P.

Yelp
The views are amazing and excellent food in the dining room. The General Manager gives an excellent presentation in the history of the mansion!

Yuriy K.

Yelp
Got the island time massage. Was the best experience everrrrr. Very soothing and calming, therapist was extremely attentive and professional. Felt like a whole new person afterwards.

Bradley C.

Yelp
Exceptional dining experience, and an amazing, historic and gorgeous setting. The Chinook entre was uniquely prepaired yet respectful of Northwest seafood etiquette - let the seafood speak for itself. The waiter was friendly, personal, warm, yet professional - really. This is rare and appreciated. The Rabbit was perfect and delectible. They are everywhere this year, as are the deer so drive very carefully. Come October perhaps we'll see venison on the menu!

S B.

Yelp
Let me start with the positives - the location is great and the mansion is beautiful. Overall, the island presents a fantastic opportunity to explore. That's where it ends. Their service is ok-ish to begin with, and our experience was pretty much spoiled by the fact that not only I was overcharged upfront but the resort took an extremely aggressive position, doubling down on their actions. Instead of simply apologizing for the mistake and moving on (we all understand mistakes do happen), they continued to insist on the validity of their charges as I disputed it, with absolutely no documentation to support it.

Kathy F.

Yelp
On Aug 25, 2022 I had the pleasure of having a facial and coconut foot scrub by Gina. I have facials on a monthly basis at home and this was one of the best I have had! Gina was friendly, professional and an excellent esthetician. Highly recommend this Spa and Gina! Also really enjoyed the spa reception staff as they were very helpful and friendly. Great experience!

Rj V.

Yelp
Very disappointing. Great location but completely dated and not well kept grounds or accommodations. Booked two massages a month in advance and flew on on the seaplane for a day-trip. Upon arriving the staff informed us they could only provide one massage and that they had meant to call me to tell me that. Wasted a lot of money on the flights to sit at the restaurant for an afternoon doing nothing due to the lack of communication. Absolutely horrible. Never coming back...

David B.

Yelp
I must caveat my rating noting my stay was right after their busy season and during the COVID pandemic.  They had a labor shortage.   Our dinner reservations at the Mansion were cancelled because they decided they had to close on Sundays and Mondays.  I let the hotel know well in advance I would be checking in late.  When I called to let them know that the ferry was going to be extremely late, they argued with me like that was impossible.   But my problem wasn't so much the service as much as the facilities.  Since I got in late due to the ferry being a couple of hours late.  They left me a key and instructions to get to my room.  I had a harborside room.  The road to get there was in horrible shape with ruts and potholes.  Once in the room, a dusty smell was noted. The room was well furnished with a comfortable bed, but it stopped there.  This is not what I would call a "resort" room.  It was reminiscent of a hotel room from the 70s that had been renovated in the 80s.  The bathtub was not something you would want to soak in.  The sink counter came up to about mid-thigh and I am certainly not a tall person.  The fixtures were dated. I felt like Rosario is a beautiful mansion and harbor that manages a Motel 6 on the other side of their property.   There was no option for in-room dining.  No mention of any "spa" or way to schedule a massage given at check-in nor flyer seen in the room. I have learned to not search under "resort" anymore.   Next time I will stay in East Sound.  Rosario is too far away from everything and not worth the drive. The view from the room was spectacular.

Yelp
I would recommend the Rosario inn based totally on the view that the rooms have of the marina and the marina itself. As far as comfort and accommodations, it's woefully lacking. The service is extremely slow and the food ranges from delicious to not so good at a considerable price. The rooms are adequate. I sat an Adirondack chair overlooking the harbor and was greeted by a sea lion from the water. It was a magnificent hour and a half watching the sunset and talking to people as they Walked by who had fascinating stories to share.

Yelp
On 10 6 2021 -We scoured Yelp and looked the whole island over (off season) for some good coffee and breakfast and there was literally no one we could find open with exception to the Rosario Resort-. Bless them! We had no expectations going in as we had never seen the resort or heard of it and when we arrived there, we were super wowed by what we saw.. What an amazing facility! The history there is well documented, many museum elements to the main mansion. The music room was astoundingly beautiful. The grounds and view were absolutely magical. Our host at the restaurant was very good at his job. As is the case everywhere, there is a staff shortage and he handled the volume of customers with great grace. Our server was perfect and our food was great! I had the French Omelet (yumm!) and we split a little goat cheese savory danish that was delectable. My husband had the quiche - also excellent. The flavors of everything we had were subtly classy and not overpowering. The greens served with both breakfast entrees were fresh and inventive. The coffee that Rosario Resort uses it Tony's coffee, a 2021 recipient of Roast Magazines "Roaster of the Year". Tony's has been around for 50 years and has perfected the coffee roast as evidenced by our great cup of java we finally found that morning after searching Yelp for someplace open.

Yelp
This is your place if: l) you want to reduce your screen time (you'll have zero to one bar) 2) you don't mind company (your "private" balcony is shared with others) 3) you have money to burn (it is way over-priced for what you get) 4) you are a dedicated minimalist (the walls of your room are nearly bare) 5) you like to eavesdrop (there is a walking path UNDER your building) 6) you don't mind being warm in summer (no A/C or cross-current of air) 7) you like to dine in a hallway (which wraps around a loud bar) 8) you like to wait for hot water (it will come - just be patient)

Yelp
Pros: We enjoyd our stay. Awesome view from our room, the best fries we have ever ate in the "Cascade Grill and Store", friendly staff. Cons: We had a ocean view room on the ground floor. We always got the dirt and the fir needles from our upper neighbors on our table, head and drinks because there are just planks on the balcony. The next draw-back was that our next door neighbors talked very loud on the balcony till 3am in the morning. I called the front desk at 2am, but she did not do anything also no appologize.

Yelp
We absolutely loved our stay at Rosario. Pros - Gorgeous locations/views Located near Moran State park Friendly staff (Joey at the front desk will go out of his way for you, he deserves a raise) Quiet and relaxing Rich history Cons - No AC in the rooms (yet they are building a third pool) Some room locations are icky (avoid Hillside) Shuttle hours are weird (don't run to the ferry on weekdays??) Shared balconies The AC thing wasn't a problem for my (now hubby) and I; it was cool enough to open the balcony door at night, combined with the fan we were comfortable. Some of my wedding party didn't appreciate that as much, or the shuttle situation. We rented a car for ourselves so had no issues. Lounge food was delicious. Our room was nice. Overall for us it's a 5/5, will look forward to returning someday!
