Rosarito Review
I live down the street from this restaurant and have passed by it, many times, since its transition from oversized BBQ place to oversized Taco-Tequila place. I'll be honest, I've been puzzled by this building. And the fact that they've used enough blue paint to cover the entire state of Delaware has intrigued me. Today my Family and I decided to give it a try...
It was a gorgeous day in Croton, so sitting outside was the move. Another Family had arrived outside, just before us. But there was nobody inside this MASSIVE place.
Our Server was sweet. The Owner seemed nice and the place was clean. But this took a turn...
I usually judge a Mexican Restaurant by their salsa. And this one was the worst. Watery, tomato sauce filled with lazy-cut chunks of onion.
I had to ask for a kids menu, which was given verbally. They should have it printed on their, already gigantic, menu.
My Wife enjoyed her Veggie Burrito. But the hot sauce we asked for was this, bland, high octane habañero sauce. How 'bout some Cholula?
I ordered the $26 Combo Fajitas and was given a sizzler platter full of peppers, 3 shrimp, 3 oz overcooked skirt steak, 4 oz chicken breast hammered and unseasoned. And two tomato slices on top. *Kinda* cooked...
All this came with a small handful of shredded iceberg, pinch of shredded cheese, basic pico and some VERY GOOD guacamole.
I was given 3 tortillas for all this food. And when I asked for more, they charged me for it...
I'm sure the Happy Hour is fine, but I'll never go back there to find out.
No mames.
