Rosarito Tacos & Ceviche Review - East Austin - Austin - The Infatuation

"Rosarito is a food truck and cevicheria on the East Side at the Arbor Food Park, a new little, BYOB, open-air space with picnic tables on East 12th St that currently also houses Cuantos Tacos, El Tigre Coffee, and Casper Fermentables. The menu is mostly seafood-focused, with a variety of tostadas, seafood cocktails, and (you guessed it) ceviche. They have a downtown sister food truck as well, under the same name, that specializes in seafood-based tacos. On Sundays, they have michelada mix as well, which definitely comes in handy at the BYOB food park. Food Rundown photo credit: Nicolai McCrary Green Shrimp Ceviche Rosarito is, first and foremost, a cevicheria. And that’s where they shine. We really enjoyed the Green Shrimp Ceviche with avocado and pickled red onions. It’s served with a side of tortilla chips that act as the perfect delivery vessel. All of the ceviches are served with a side of peanuts in a spicy chili oil that adds a nice bit of texture and a little heat. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary Black Drum Ceviche The black drum ceviche, served with pico and cucumbers, and dressed in hot sauce, tasted like a refreshing summer appetizer you would expect to find in a West Coast beachside restaurant. This one came with a side of crackers that worked fine with the fish, but we probably would have preferred more tortilla chips. The peanuts in chili oil worked especially well with the black drum. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary Ahi Tuna Tostada While the ceviches are great for sharing, the tostadas are more of an individual item. The ahi tuna tostada in particular stood out, with fresh chunks of tuna and avocado on a bed of chile toreados mayo, and topped with fried onions." - Nicolai McCrary
