Chicago Pizza Pioneer Behind Rosati’s Dies at 102 | Eater Chicago

"Founded in 1964 in suburban Mount Prospect, the chain began as a thin‑crust pizzeria based on recipes that many Italian immigrants brought to Chicago. Over the years a founding-family member, Fred Rosati, helped scale the business—co-founding the franchise company in the 1970s and growing it to roughly 200 locations nationwide. The menu evolved from classic thin crusts into Chicago-style tavern-cut and later added deep dish, and the brand remains especially popular in the northern suburbs while maintaining six Chicago locations. A new location is planned for Logan Square at 2218 N. California Avenue." - Ashok Selvam

I stopped into Rosati’s Pizza of Chicago planning to grab a slice, but decided to try a beef sandwich instead, and I’m glad I did. It was excellent. What really stood out is that, unlike many beef spots, they include sweet peppers or hot peppers at no extra charge. The sandwich also comes with fries, and you can add a canned pop for just a couple of bucks, which makes it a great value. The beef sandwich itself was absolutely amazing. The gentleman working the counter was very friendly, and the customer service was great overall. I will definitely be going back for another beef sandwich.

The pizza delivery men gave this to me thinking this was acceptable- I was in shock to have rejected the delivery as I didn’t knew how bad it was until I brought it inside and opened the box. We called hoping the driver will come back as it was less than 5 minutes after he deliver and us calling the restaurant to let them know, only for a worker to say “What do you want me to do about it”, as we kept asking to pick up the product and give us a refund, however they insisted they want to replace it, and we were arguing for 5 minutes that we didn’t want the deep dish pizza anymore and just want a refund and no replacement. We will never again order this pizza, and if you were curious if this places a great place for delivery , I assure you it is not if you want your pizza to come looking like this as. Should’ve stick with little ceasars Edit: Manager been arguing with me another 5 minutes insisting to replace the pizza and no refund as well demanding us to BRING back the pizza when they were the ones that delivered it! How dare they have the audacity for that. And the driver called us again can’t even speak to us properly in English and couldn’t understand him so we hung up Edit 2: so the restaurant called us as they finally accepted that they will pick up the deep dish pizza and refund it to us. This was unacceptable. Again, nobody should ever support this business ever again Aside from the other pizza, the bread taste horrible and it was stale already as if the pizza was old and they just reheat it up.

We recently got catering from this Rosati’s location and couldn’t be happier with the service. Everything was absolutely perfect — the food was fresh, delicious, and arrived right on time. Our guests loved it, and the entire process was smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend this location for catering!

The place is chill and it’s next to the blue line. Food is alright. Idk nothing too crazy here. Sometimes at night it does get packed but usually it’s chill.

Perfectly made Chicago pizza. My favorite item was the jalapeño poppers, which are made of cheddar cheese! Quick service & friendly staff

Went here for a late night pizza to celebrate my friends birthday! They were super hospitable. Their pizza is good as hell and they gave us a free cannoli. Wow. I’m sure if my friend batted his eyelashes hard enough they would’ve invited him out back for a lil sumpthin sumpthin. If you’re drunk and hungry in Logan square, you simply cannot do better than this establishment. If you go, do yourself a favor and get the GARLIC FRIES

What is better than a Change of Pace Pizza??? Nothing, so give it a try.... No pizza sauce, use BBQ sauce instead.... double dough instead of thin crust... ground beef and pepperoni to top it off!! Nobody does it better than THIS ROSATI'S
