Truly right out of the 50's, a vintage experience. But perfectly comfortable, with microwave, fridge, and coffeemaker. Shower, no tub. Proprietor is very friendly as is her big dog 🐶 😁 , so the animal policy (as of our stay, Sept 2025) is naturally welcoming, $10/pet. I wish I'd brought our kittens! 😸😆

This is the quintessential Catskills motel (note I didn’t say hotel). Decor a bit outdated (adds to the charm), nothing fancy but everything you’d expect. Friendly staff and great location. Beds were comfortable and linens were clean and fresh, room was clean, heat worked great, shower had good pressure and was hot. Room has a refrigerator, coffee pot and microwave. You can’t beat the location if you are coming up to fish. The Beaver Kill runs right along the back of the hotel and it’s within walking distance of where the Beaver Kill and Willowemoc Creek merge. There was a fire pit. We didn’t use it but looked like a great spot to roast s’mores with the sound of the river.

I love the Roscoe motel this place is very clean , bed was clean, towels were very clean the staff are so friendly and attentive I love that this place is pet friendly the over night staff was very informative about where to go for coffee and food the places they recommended were good places. I definitely will be returning.

I spent a wonderful Memorial Day weekend up at The Roscoe Motel. What a sweet place to stay in a beautiful area, with the Beaver Kill river running right behind the rooms. It’s a genuine little roadside motel, simple, clean and comfortable - a kind of time capsule of classic Americana, thoughtfully maintained and updated. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and you’re within a few minutes from Roscoe center, Livingston Manor, with many great little places to visit and eat. The river is on the property and you can just walk out your door to dip your toes in, go for a swim or walk, and it seems perfect for fly fishing. The nightly rate is really great too for what you get - I will definitely be staying there again for escapes upstate. It’s a special place!

If you are a fly angler (or just a normal person), I don't think there is anywhere better to stay when in Roscoe. Beautiful spot, great proprietors, and right on the banks of the Beaverkill R.

I recently had the pleasure of hanging out at the Roscoe Fly Fishing Motel, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel right at home with their warm and welcoming hospitality. The rooms are classic cozy motel, clean, and thoughtfully decorated, creating a perfect blend of comfort and original locations past and present charm. It’s nice to not have everything completely modernized and have it keep why people have stayed there to fish for a very long time. The location of the motel is ideal for any fishing enthusiast. Nestled in the heart of Roscoe, it provides easy access to some of the best fishing spots in the area. What truly sets this motel apart is its attention to detail and dedication to guests' satisfaction. Whether it's the complimentary coffee in the morning, the well-maintained grounds, or the friendly conversations with the owners, every aspect of my stay was exceptional. It feels like staying with an old friend! People who have been coming for decades will agree. I can't wait to return

The beds are comfortable and staff is great. It can be inconsistent but is so peaceful. Great to do research (small town) If bringing kids definitely find places to go. Their isn't any babysitting or breakfast as listed. Fishing is great and my dogs love it.

I'm not sure why this only has a two star rating. The staff member that I met was great, she clearly cared about her guests enjoying their stay and the rooms were spotless. Was it a little outdated? Absolutely. But the everything was clean, we had more towels that we could have used in one night. The TV, microwave and mini fridge worked perfectly. It was tucked away off the beaten path and that means it was quiet at night. There's picnic tables, chairs and an outdoor fire pit for guests to use. I would definitely stay here again.

I was beyond disappointed with our recent stay there. I've been going here for over 15 yrs and when the new owners took over in the past few years at 1st it was nice. It seems to have drastically gone downhill since then! We paid extra for the river view king size room. You can't see the creek due to the overgrown bushes/weeds out back - pls change description to weed view. We stayed 2 nights. 2nd day clean towels were left for us in a plastic bag on the chair outside. Bed wasn't made. Granted a microburst blew thru around 4-5pm and they lost electric, but there was only 1 other guest besides us. No reason for the room not to be made up or towels brought in. No new soap or shampoo left. Nobody in the office after 6pm to even ask for anything. The owners used to live on site - not sure why that changed. Electric finally came back on when we returned from dinner but the outside lights were not working. Was told they would reset them the next day. Bathroom window?? Filled with dirt and dead bugs. Seriously doubt I'll be coming back and that's a shame. It used to be such a nice place to go.

What a fun and charming place to stay! Beautiful location on the Beaverkill. Clean rooms, well kept, great A/C. More than anything - such accommodating, friendly...all around great staff! Look forward to coming back to join my fellow anglers and get back out on the river!!

This motel is full of charm. It's a simple and classic place that feels a little like a time warp. The location is incredibly beautiful and wether you're looking for a fly fishing experience or just an opportunity to retreat to simpler times the Roscoe Motel will not disappoint. The river is just yards from the motel making a stunning view. We rented the whole place out for a reunion of friends and the owners were very welcoming and accommodating. The experience was ideal.

This place is charming. Rooms are small but you can hear the river when you open the windows. The hotel is kind of a time warm into the past, complete with working phone booth. Spartan but clean and comfortable.

The Roscoe Motel is legendary among fly fishermen. While hiking in the area I booked 3 nights on the advice of a friend. Room rates were cheap enough but... It left a lot to be desired. Their web site shows a pool so I brought a bathing suit for after the hikes. The pool was filled with dirt and being used as a vegetable garden. The room was adequate and clean enough but we could not get the TV to work. Other guests complained about their TVs too. I tried to pay at the front desk with my credit card but their machine did not work... WTF? If you like nice amenities go elsewhere. If you want to feel like you went through a time warp to 1960s amenities you will be happy. Next trip to Roscoe I may pay a little more but I will spent my time and money elsewhere.

I've been going to the Roscoe area for many years but have never stayed at the Roscoe Motel. Room was affordable but quite run down. It was bearable until I was getting ready to turn in. Pulled back the covers to find bugs in my bed. It was midnight so my only option was to pack up and head home. Stay away.

Such an beautiful location on the river. We could see it from our bed. It is so sad that it was not more comfortable to stay the night. One word MUSTY. The shower backed up into a pool at your feet regardless of the time you stood there. You cannot spend a night here without walking out perfumed with the funk of this place even though it is nestled in some really beautiful countryside. We tried opening the windows, cleaning the a/c filter and turning it on fan but it still smelled horrible. The need to dump a 5 lb bag of baking soda on the carpet and leave it for a few days if the are not going to rip it up. Sleeping in places like this make me feel subhuman but then I barely slept cause I needed another pillow and had a wicked case of the creepy crawlies all night.

You get what you pay for? Not here. I paid $100 for a horrible room for the night. The words "seedy" and "fleabag" came to mind when I entered the room. Little decorative attempts with tacky and kitschy items made it even sadder. There was a musty smell and it was dingy and dated. The bed linens were gray with age. I had to move the night stand to access an outlet and it was obvious that no one ever moved the furniture in this room to vacuum. Disgusting. It reeked of neglect and age. The couple who "greeted" me had a limited grasp of the English language and even less of a grasp about dealing with guests. They were rude and abrupt. The only positive comment I could make about the place is that it was quiet. Otherwise, it was a Bates Motel experience without the charm. Avoid this place. What really amazes me is all the glowing reviews of this dump on various booking sites. I would seriously question the authenticity of them or, if real, the taste of the reviewers.
