"Under a new deal, Dolci will move back into the neighborhood by teaming up with another Italian restaurant nearby, Roscoe’s (7040 Carroll Avenue). The newly-renovated space, previously used for private parties, will sport its own Dolci entrance, a gelato counter with seating, small tables and chairs, and its signature lime green walls. Roscoe’s, open during construction, has been slinging Neapolitan-style pizza in Takoma Park since 2009." - Tierney Plumb

This is for anyone who likes artisan pizzas with soft, firm crust, a bit of chew and a slightly charred bottom. This seasonal summer squash pizza is a top 5, maybe top 3 for me, including a few from Rome. Thin strips of squash over a pesto sauce with crispy prosciutto, whipped recotta and a drizzle of maple syrup. I like a bit of heat with the sweet so I added a few shakes of red pepper flakes. It’s a shame that this is a seasonal pie. If you are in the DC area it is worth the trip to Tacoma Park.

“The life of a critic is simple in many ways, we risk little, and we have power over those who offer their work and their service to us, we thrive on negative reviews, fun to write and to read. Visiting this restaurant is a perfect escape to magnificent Italy. Chef Gusteau was right: Anyone can cook. But I finally realize what he really meant; not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere.

This is a good option for vegans/vegetarians, as they have an entire vegan menu. I got the cheesesteak panini, which was good, but could have been better! It was a bit dry, and really could have benefited from some sort of sauce like an aioli or garlic butter. Also, I was disappointed to see that the onions weren't actually caramelized like the description said - they were just sweated white onions. The side salad could have been spruced up with some toppings as well, since it was just plain mixed greens with no dressing. The staff were very nice and friendly, and the outdoor seating was probably my favorite part!

Stopped by the other day right after the Saturday brunch and had the best meal! Ordered the apple cider old fashioned, tiramisu martini, harvest pizza and the pappardelle pasta and everything was perfect. I have not stopped thinking about that pizza since I ordered it and plan to have it again soon! Additionally, the service was great and was the perfect balance of attentive but not constant. If you're considering Roscoe's for a meal option, or even an impromptu beverage, I highly highly recommend!

Family friend. So I may be bias as our order may have been made with extra love!! Absolutely love the ambiance, decor, and aesthetics. It is not easy for me to eat out as I am fairly difficult to please and often picky. Especially pizza not found in New York. But I absolutely loved both the vegan panini and the vegan wild mushroom pizza. Not to heavy with the ingredients and quite tasteful. Erin’s doing a great job with the pizzeria. Stop by and support! You won’t regret it.

This place is very cozy, perfect if you’re vegan or vegetarian (plenty of choices). The food is really good, I’m not a bing fan of the cocktails but they have a pretty decent beer selection. Service is average (a bit slow) but understandable because they use a brick oven for their pizzas. Usually I don’t have concerns or inconveniences with any restaurant but in this case I have to give them 4 stars just because we had a hard time paying the bill in our table. Be aware, if you having a party 3 plus people you won’t be able to split the bill in more than 2 credits cards even if the tip is already included, I understand some folks may want to have their bill separate and that maybe an issue for servers but we weren’t asking for this, we just wanted to pay the entire amount (tip included) between 5 of us. Thank God the manager allowed us to pay with 5 different cards but he informed us that they internal policy is not more than 2 cards per table.

Google
Dates appetizer are amazing. Pizza is fine, but bland. This was our second time here, and we sat outside. After 20 minutes waiting for a pizza, we found our server--who had disappeared--and asked where our pizza was. He looked surprised, went in the back, and came out with the old "printer stuck" trick. But, he said, they're making ours immediately and it will be out in three or four minutes! Fifteen minutes later it finally came. (Mind you the deck and the restaurant were half empty.) We saw our waiter even less after that, but toward the end of our pizza another server apologized and asked if we wanted free dessert. Now 50 minutes into our Roscoe's adventure, we said yes. Ten minutes later, no cake. I mean, if you offer free dessert because service is bad, you go in and get it and bring it out immediately. I went in to inquire, and the server who had offered us the cake said it was just coming out. I gave her a card, and asked if she could run the check so we could leave right after, and went back to our table outside. Five minutes later, the server came out with the check and...no cake! We paid and left, but not before complaining and asking why no manager had come out to address the situation? It was truly terrible service. Maybe Roscoe's is acceptable for a neighborhood joint, but it is certainly not a destination place. Between the average taste and poor service, this place wouldn't last three months anywhere else but Metro DC--where good pizza places are few and far between.

Me and my husband come once every other week. Everything is delicious! Best pizza hands down. Customer service is the best 👌🏾

Yelp
My sister and I have been eyeing this spot for well over a year -- maybe almost two now. It's an Italian spot that has a MASSIVE vegan menu. As a late Mother's Day celebration, we FINALLY made it there on what felt like a warm summer evening. We grabbed the last bench outside and the breeze was lovely! Roscoe's is right on the main street in Takoma Park, and shares the same cozy vibes. My youngest niece got a virgin spicy margarita (basically) and it was FIRE, literally. That was so tasty! The table shared brussel sprouts and a pizza -- the Harvest one specifically. The vegan cheese was nice and melty, and the pizza was just overall light and refreshing! Loved the squash on it... pretty sure this is the first time I've ever had that on pizza. And there wasn't a hint of grease on the plate. As far as pizzas are concerned, this one made me feel minimal guilt. This makes me excited to explore more of their extensive menu and see what their non-vegan options are like!

Seyma D.

Yelp
Cosy atmophere but tomato puree, unmelted buffalo mozzarella and basil leaves on pizza dough can certainly be improved The pizza dough is good And the people are lovely

Daphne G.

Yelp
I'm just reviewing it for lunch, which is great. This is a really nice place to stop by for lunch with friends, partner, kids, or by yourself. Their individual pizzas are very good as are their paninis. The cannellini bean soup is thick and satisfying, a perfect lunch with an appetizer or a salad.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Great, thoughtful vegan options! I was very pleased with my vegan bbq pizza and vegan meatball app. Service felt a littleeeee slow but it was very busy and we were a party that trickled in. I'd definitely go back to try more from their vegan menu. So cool to see a restaurant with a whole separate menu I can order from! The menu was great for my gluten-free and alcohol-free friends as well. Great for a spot that can please everyone, gluten-free, vegan, regular Omni, sober, etc.

Moshe H.

Yelp
Great menu. Great service. I recommend coming early if you can because tables run out quick. The pizza was one of the best I've had in the dmv

Shawn B.

Yelp
I must say the food here was delicious and filling. I decided to stop by this place because of the pictures on Yelp and it really didn't disappoint. The food was packed with flavor and they had tons of options to choose from. The drink was also very strong and flavorful and I would advise anyone in the neighborhood to stop by.

Lewis C.

Yelp
We loved this place, the service was stellar, the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting and the food was amazing! I went with a group and we got the caprese salad and burrata appetizers and they were both delicious and the portion size was good. The highlight was the pizza - the pizza was fire cooked and cooked to delectable perfection. I highly recommend this place!

Brittany L.

Yelp
Food. We adore the pizza here; have for five years! Tonight's pizza didn't disappoint. We get the antica and it's covered with meat toppings. Service. Service was fine and fast - we sat at a table. The bar is actually kind of fine too. Ambiance. Picture a homey and cute Italian restaurant vibe. Excellent and lots of pictures of chickens ha. Roscoe's namesake maybe.

Tom T.

Yelp
I have to admit that I kinda dig this place for lots of reasons. It's sooo typical Takoma Park it's not even funny: green power, environmentally sourced ingredients, pride flags galore, and just an awesome Takoma Park vibe all around. I've decided that brick oven pizzas powered with gas are a waste of my time and I'll be skipping them from now on. Listening to the wood crackle and pop in the oven not only is part of the ambience, but also adds tons of flavor to the pizza. While the crust dough was pretty good, the toppings on my Antica pizza were incredible. Nothing plain or boring about them at all. If I could talk them into using doppio zero flour then this place would get a Michelin star. I'll come back and try the pasta some day...I just wish that TP wasn't such a pain for me to get to from where I live.

Stedmond P.

Yelp
My friend and I stumbled across this gem. The food was *insert chef's kiss*. I'm not a potato person but the potatoes that were served alongside the poached eggs and salmon were some of the best I've ever had. It was seasoned to perfection and perfectly tender. They were so soft, they almost melt in my mouth. Yum! Also, the host and servers were very friendly and helpful. We were pleasantly surprised about the all day happy hour. I haven't found many of those.

Sara B.

Yelp
By far my favorite pizza place in Takoma park and the customer service is by far the best of any pizza place with very understanding workers and I had some very good conversations with the workers. With outdoor or indoor seating Defently a favorite.

Krissy L.

Yelp
The only thing that I was pleased on was the soup I ordered. Very flavorful but the vegan pizza I got was a 0/10. A sad excuse for "bbq" pizza. It gave me heartburn too and it wasn't even worth it! The vegan chicken was bland and tasted like cardboard. I was so upset. Don't think i'd come back honestly.

Frederick W.

Yelp
Went to this restaurant for the first time tonight, it was a good experience overall. Wine and a nice Negroni came quickly on a relatively slow night. My wife enjoyed an apple and spinach salad, and I enjoyed the Antica pizza (though it seemed just a bit over cheesed). I almost never give five stars; this experience gets three because, despite being assured that our main course wouldn't arrive too soon after we ordered our appetizer (a generous dish of tasty Brussels sprouts), that's exactly what happened. In fact, Roscoe's lost out on an order for a glass of wine with dinner because I didn't have time to finish my Negroni. We'll go back, but will plan accordingly.

Haley S.

Yelp
I've eaten at the restaurant once and picked up food once, and the food is consistently good. I love eating in person because the restaurant is really cute, and the service is great. The pesto chicken pizza and burrata are both awesome, so we ordered those both times. We also ordered the tagliatelle verde, which was good. Would definitely recommend!

Nina S.

Yelp
We have a complicated past with Roscoe's. We live just a block away in Old Town Takoma Park. When they opened we went there a couple of times and it was just plain bad. There were almost no toppings on the pizza and it was all pretty tasteless. So for the last more than a decade we've avoided them - which bummed me out. I love to support our local businesses but there have been, in the past, a few clunkers. And Roscoe's was yet another one. But the other day when I was walking my dog I thought, "Why do I always see people eating both indoors and outdoors there?" So I thought, "Well, let's give them another chance. Maybe they've change in over a decade!!" And have they ever. My husband and I had the Roasted Beet Salad, the Antica Pizza and the Siciliana White PIzza. It was all REALLY good. The Antica was a little greasy so I did some degreasing. The salad was perfect and substantial. The pizzas were really flavorful (with a lot of toppings) and the woodfired pizza was crispy and chewy. Just great. We'll definitely be back since we pretty much live right next door!

Aarti B.

Yelp
Delicious wood-fired Neapolitan pizza - worth the trek from McLean, VA! It's really hard to find authentic wood-fired pizzerias, most take the propane gas short-cut. Not here. I saw the fire ablaze in the oven! The Margherita pizza with buffalo mozzarella cheese was tasty and enjoyed the white Mushroom pizza as well. The Mushroom pizza had good flavor from the chives and caramelized, it was a bit heavy on the cheese with less cream sauce than I expected. Still good and enjoyed the leftovers! The signature Mojito cocktail was refreshing and perfect way to cool down amid the scorching heat. Hubby enjoyed the Chianti Classico that paired well with the pizza. There is plenty of patio seating for small groups and dogs are welcomed (they even have dog bowls!). Service was friendly and attentive. Excited to come back and explore other pies and dishes on the menu!

Jasmine J.

Yelp
So I was moseying around Takoma Park, it was lunchtime, had my choice of eateries, and landed in Roscoe's. It's a nice local pizza joint with outdoor seating (doggies welcome on the patio) and a comfortable friendly atmosphere inside. I wanted to try their lunch special with pizza and soup/salad combo that they had posted, but unfortunately, they no longer offered it. They have some good menu options, and it was definitely pizza I was wanting. I went with the Quattro Formaggi and added chicken to it. Talk about some good wood-fired pizza! It's small enough for one person to handle, which I had no problem doing. Yes, I ate all six slices (DO NOT judge me!); however, two could share if they don't have the hungry monster on their back, maybe throw a salad in there. The prices are reasonable....$14 plus $3.50 for the chicken; a price I'm willing to pay for quality eats! Needless to say, I'll be back next time I visit!

Yelp
Roscoe's is an excellent neighborhood restaurant/pizzeria that caters to just about anyone, with great Neapolitan pizza, super fresh salads, great apps and even an entire vegan menu. We're particularly big fans of brunch here because it's right down the street from the farmers market and if your first meal of the day involves excellent pizza, you are living right. On our most recent visit, we walked in to the beautiful smell of lightly charred crust from the pizza oven and went for the Joey special: two pizzas. We got the margherita (the true test for any Neapolitan spot), which was very well done, great mozzarella, plenty of basil, and a good tomato sauce and the true star, the Quattro Formaggi pizza, which was an amazing blend of thin, chewy crust and ALL THE CHEESE (specifically, Gorgonzola, smoked mozzarella, Parmesan, and Fontina), a killer blend of funky/smoky/rich flavors. (It also reheated amazingly well the next day.) We also got a strawberry salad that was chock full of super fresh greens, nuts, and deliciousness generally. Super friendly and attentive staff as well! Definitely a great place to check out if you're in the neighborhood, or a great excuse to get over to Takoma Park!

Geoffrey C.

Yelp
Roscoe's is our go-to pizza in the TkPk neighborhood, always loved it. It is the closest to an authentic Italian style pizza you can get in the DMV. Great people and always a nice vibe!

Audra H.

Yelp
We finally walked up to Roscoe's to try out the food! First, the customer service was great! We were seated right away and everyone was extremely friendly! We started with the Brussels sprouts and ordered an Antica pizza! The Brussels had ZERO flavor! I was not a fan and was super worried the pizza would be the same. However the pizza was DELICIOUS! We lived in Italy for 4 years and so far, this is the closest we've gotten to authentic Italian pizza! We will definitely go back to Roscoe's for the pizza!!!

Katie H.

Yelp
I wasn't incredibly impressed with the two pizzas we ordered. The other food looks very interesting. I would toy with the idea of returning and giving the place a second shot for their other items, such as the pasta or happy hour specials. Arugula Proscuitto & Margherita Extra Pizzas: The "Bianca" arugula pizza overall didn't have much flavor, nor did the tomato sauce on the margherita pizza. Most of the flavor came from the toppings, such as the acidity in the heirloom tomatoes. The amount of arugula drowns out the flavor of the prosciutto and sauce. I had to fold it to eat it, and with the soft dough it felt like I was eating a salad sandwich. The margherita was on the colder side as well. Service: They take COVID precautions very seriously and have some nice dividers on their patio seating for added privacy. The wait staff was attentive and helpful. However, we did witness an unfortunate huge argument between our waiter and a man who wasn't allowed to use the restroom as his family was speaking to a waitress to get seated. Hopefully this was a misunderstanding or very strict COVID restrictions, but the man and his wife were very upset and left with their children before dining.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Cheese pizza is good . A little on the smaller side. Good location. Nice bar area .The people are mature and civilized .

Natalie S.

Yelp
I hate to give this place such a low rating because it's so cute inside and the staff was very friendly and helpful when I went to pick up my order. But I have to be honest -- the pizza itself was terrrrrrrrrrible. It literally -- LITERALLY! -- had no taste. Zilch. Zero. Nada. Honestly I got so concerned that I stopped and ate a mini clementine halfway through -- just to make sure I hadn't lost my own taste buds or something. But alas, it was not me. It was the pizza. Despite the toppings (minimal sauce and cheese, mushrooms, and pepperoni), the pizza looked far better than it tasted. I don't know how it's even possible to serve slices of "nothingness." But that's exactly what happened here. Now I had also gotten a side of the haricot verts (green beans) -- you know, something green -- so I didn't feel so badly about gorging myself on pizza. The menu said the green beans come with cherry tomatoes and balsamic vinagriette, so I thought that sounded absolutely delicious. Well, that description was accurate...but I definitely wasn't expecting them to be served freezing cold. I thought this would be a warm side of veggies. Instead it came super chilled and laying on top of a cold hunk of lettuce. This whole meal cost me nearly $30 after tip. And the whole thing was a big letdown. I will never, ever order from here again.

Sarah B.

Yelp
This place was so delicious! I went for a quick dinner and sat at the bar. The Bar tender was honest and said that they were understaffed but I still got my food out pretty fast and it was piping hot! Neapolitan style pizza is my favorite and they nailed it!

Kenneth K.

Yelp
Roscoe's is a great pizza place. Since Pacci's is no longer in walking distance, Roscoe's seems to be the closest and most accessible Neapolitan pizza place to Downtown Silver Spring. My wife and I have been here twice, once for brunch by ourselves and once for dinner with our current best friend and our belated best friend's dad and his girlfriend. The menu has plenty to offer for carnivores, herbivores, and omnivores which is good since our belated best friend, a carnivore, complained of too few meat options at most places in Takoma Park. The pizza is delicious and good sized. The beer and other drink selections are great as well. The prices are also reasonable. Parking can be found nearby at Takoma Park city lots. It is also only a few blocks away from the Takoma Metro and along right along bus lines. We look forward to returning.

Mark O.

Yelp
Not sure what's happening in the kitchen here but the last few times I've had pizza here, the sauce has lacked salt . Like, completely. Totally bland and and also bitter from an overwhelming amount of garlic. Dial back the garlic and add some salt to the sauce, roscoes!

Letisha W.

Yelp
Delicious pizza. My son brought it home and it was one of the best pizzas we have tasted!

Hisao Y.

Yelp
Nice space, indoors and outdoors. Service is fine. Too bad they can't get the food right. The pizza is bland and soggy. Their other food is also in line with the pizza, and falls short. The brussels sprouts are uninspired and panini's just meh. I really want to like this place but every time I give it a shot I am disappointed.

J.C. C.

Yelp
Roscoe's has happily improved. Went to Roscoe's after a long time avoiding it. I am not a fan of Neapolitan pizza. They added a small selection of very good pasta dishes. Panini's with their store made bread is a bit calzone-like and a cut above your everyday pressed sandwich. Received prompt friendly service.

John B.

Yelp
We went to the farmer's market then headed to Roscoe's. We really enjoyed it. I had the vegetarian flatbread. There were a good amount of different vegetables as well as 2 poached eggs on top. That was the first time I had egg on pizza. My wife really likes the salads, as well. She's brought them home in the past, and I would agree they are good. The service was good and the place appeared clean.

dan g.

Yelp
I can't wait to try this place when I can eat on premises but I was still delighted by their vegan pizza! They have a very efficient order and contactless pickup set up which made it easy and clear. I got the vegan Cafone which had vegan sausage (Gimme Lean, I think), rapini and vegan cheese (Follow your Heart I think with something else) This is a white pizza which I was not expecting but dug immensely. The toppings are generous and the price is totally fair. The crust is good but I bet better in person. I'm excited to try the many other vegan items. Good job Roscoe's!

Susan L.

Yelp
Just had an amazing dinner at Roscoe's with my teenager :). He ordered pizza, and I ordered the roasted beet salad. Food was outstanding and the service was 5-star! Our server kept our waters full and we were checked on a respectful number of times :). A little loud... and worth it for the food. Ordered the apple pie pizza - with Nutella! Definitely will be back.. soon!!

Luke G.

Yelp
Came to DC and stayed in Silver Springs as a vegan. This pizza place had a separate vegan menu and I like pizza so I thought I would give the a go. Small place, family style sit down with a bar. People and service was friendly. I ordered the Philly cheese steak calzone which was tasty. My only complaint was that the portions were quite small. I thought I would have leftovers to take back to hotel and share but no.

Elizabeth R.

Yelp
Food is great, pizza is fired up to perfection. I have been coming in and out of here for years. Very quaint and nice place to eat for both lunch and dinner. Great service!

nayla g.

Yelp
Great food, great service. We love seeing our friend Antonia there. We love the pizza.

Dianne T.

Yelp
My three friends and I have been celebrating our 40 years of knowing each other and having our ritual of happy hours to share ideas on how we were going to save the world for our current and future kids and grandkids. One of us has relocated out of the area which makes our getting together special and worthy of a great place. I chose Roscoe's as a change in venue and the perfect spot to meet. It was perfect! Great company great location great drinks great service ... the best. It's unanimous We'll be back!!! Thank you Roscoe's and staff. D.TN

Eduardo L.

Yelp
Great neighborhood location. Love the food and ambiance. My two children enjoy their kid options and the service is always solid.

Annie F.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place- especially because there were so many vegan options and the reviews were astounding. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The vegan chicken panini was the shining star of the meal. It had a great balance of flavors and tasted like real chicken... super yum. My compliments stop there... the focaccia was so dry and had literally no seasonings on it despite being advertised as so. The pizza was also so bland that I had to add all of my own seasonings. Very disappointed in my experience.

Meg L.

Yelp
Our favorite local pizza takeout. We love the arugula & prosciutto pizza (though it's not very good leftover) & the antica (which is often better leftover)! We also enjoy the Brussels sprouts.

C S.

Yelp
Clean and cozy Our table ordered prosciutto and arugula pizza, a Roscoe pizza, a four cheese pizza and a chicken panini. All of the food was tasty except for the prosciutto and arugula pizza, which didn't seem to have any sauce at all.

John B.

Yelp
This place just outside the DC line definitely gets you the feel of Takoma Park, a hippie neighborhood which apparently once had a rogue rooster running around by the name of Roscoe. It's a nice atmosphere inside, and for summer they have outdoor seating. It's also notable for having a good range for vegetarian and vegan diets. The pizza, while "Neapolitan-ish" was not in the same universe as other nearby Neapolitan spots, notably Timber and Menomale. The crust didn't bubble up as nicely, the tomato flavor didn't come through as strongly, the taste of freshness wasn't the same. Mind you, it's still a good pizza, but it's priced like a great pizza. Would be happy to go there again, but I wouldn't bypass any of my existing favorite pizzas to do so.

Aileen M.

Yelp
So this was my first time trying Roscoe's and I got the Vegan Ruspante. I did not like it at all. It was very bland and the vegan chicken was pretty dry and tasteless. I would like to go back but I'll most definitely choose another dish. I called in to pick up my order and they were pretty fast but it wasn't too busy as it was a Tuesday afternoon. The restaurant itself is a very family friendly atmosphere. Whenever I pass by I always see people with their kids and dogs sitting outside. Overall, the vegan ruspante was not good to me but I am open to trying their other vegan options and non vegan as well.

Anastasia V.

Yelp
The food was so delicious we ordered two days in a row! I was in search of a good vegan sandwich that didn't involve falafel for once and during my search yelp suggested this place. I was immediately impressed by their extensive vegan menu. We've passed this place before so many times and had no idea they would even have vegan options. For our first visit we got the wild mushroom pizza and vegan chicken panini. The vegan cheese they use is absolutely delicious, it was creamy and didn't have that very familiar aftertaste most vegan cheeses have. The pesto on both the panini and pizza was phenomenal. The portions were reasonable and so are the prices. I really appreciated the salad that comes with the panini. During our second visit we tried the margarita pizza and a Roscoes pizza with substituted vegan cheese. Both were delicious but I especially loved the Margarita which is always my go to favorite pizza. So far we are huge fans and can't believe we didn't find this place sooner. Just when we were trying to be good and not get as much pizza we find the best pizza in DC by far, go figure!

Stephanie F.

Yelp
The pizza is awesome. My family and I (family of 8) came here because they have vegan options. They have a lot of options, so much so, they have a vegan menu. My family ordered the Meatless Lover pizza, the Wild Mushroom pizza, and focaccia bread. It was by far the best vegan pizza we've ever had. The flavors were so good, especially the pizza sauce. If you are vegan, definitely check this place out. The customer service was great, friendly staff, pizza's came out quickly, and clean bathrooms. This will be our new pizza spot.

Diamond B.

Yelp
I loveeeeee this place! Can't say enough great things about it - wonderful location, amazing food and some of the best customer service in the area. They also have an expansive vegan menu which I love! And the owner is so friendly and a delight - so extremely welcoming! And the prices are great! Highly highly recommend!!!!!!

Eveleen S.

Yelp
Roscoe's is just so lovely! It's located on a picturesque street with lots of cute shops and restaurants in Takoma Park. The outdoor seating is stylish, and the presentation of the food adds even more to the ambiance! This place offers high quality, tasteful Italian dishes of a wide variety. I would totally recommend getting one of the pizzas... Roscoe's serves the perfect thin crust pizza! I also thoroughly enjoyed the charcuterie board, which was quite thoughtfully put together with some commendable cheese pairings. Overall, this spot was perfect for a peaceful, hearty Sunday brunch and I'm definitely going to go visit again. So should you!

Mark H.

Yelp
The Antica pizza is the staple at this place. Very tasty and quite filling. Plenty for two to make a meal.

Yelp
(3.5) ~ good overall takeout experience. MENU: * Pizza Margherita = (3.75) Good * Meatball Marinara = (3.5) good * Banana Bread Pudding = (3.25) pretty good

Yelp
Sad. I know offering vegan options is all the fad in restaurants today but it would be great if some effort was actually put in to creating a meal that people can actually eat. My girlfriend and I placed a takeout order for a vegan wild mushroom pizza and a vegan ruspante pizza after a long day enjoying DC Pride. The first red flag came when we were told that the pizza would be ready in ten minutes - we placed the order when we were 7 minutes away and both pizzas were coming out of the oven when we arrived. The second red flag was the bartender blatantly ignoring all health protocols and using his (ungloved) hands to add chives that the line cook forgot. Normally we would have sent the pizza back but we were hungry. As for the taste of the pizza, it was a melange of too much daiya cheese, bland vegetables, and store bought meat substitutes. To be honest, apart from the mushrooms, the two pizzas were indistinguishable. My girlfriend and I were excited to try new vegan food and it completely backfired on us. We often make our own vegan pizza at home that tastes miles better than the stuff they serve up at Roscoe's Pizzeria. For close to $16 per pizza, I would recommend skipping Roscoe's Pizzeria and making your own pizza; it can't be worse than the disappointment we tasted in the two slices we had at Roscoe's Pizzeria.
