Rose and Rye review: Dessert pop-up is Decadent with a capital D - Review - Granada Hills - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"It’s official. We’ve entered a new stage of quarantine. Gone are the days of at-home bread baking and absurdly large novelty puzzles - much like Taylor Swift doing songs with Bon Iver, we’ve been thrust into a new era: Distract us. For the love of God, distract us. In this new era, we need food to be exciting. We want it bigger, better, prettier - and preferably served with a side of radical justice. Rightfully so; food is political, and it has real power, so yes, it’s also nice for it to be made by ethical people - and for it to be so rich and so indulgent that it feels like we’re eating… well, the rich. It’s a pretty tall order, but somehow, Rose + Rye is able to fill it. Created by Armenian baker Kristine Jingozian, this baked goods pop-up has only been around since the end of May, but it’s already managed to hold cake auctions in honor of Breonna Taylor and Elijah McClain, participate in the Pies For Justice bake sale, and educate their followers on issues like The Breathe Act, Black Lives Matter, and the importance of democratizing of food. Oh, and yes, the desserts are really f*cking good. You’re obviously going to want the banana Nutella pie - admittedly, it’s a bit of an undertaking (it’s only sold whole and you’ll have to drive to Granada Hills to get it), but if you’ve got the time and the willpower, this decadent behemoth should be a no-brainer. If you’re not in the mood to eat an entire pie, there are plenty of other things that deserve your attention as well. Namely, their sweet, vegan Persian halvas and flaky, bite-sized nazooks. Each comes in a beautiful box wrapped with twine and attached to a handwritten note. So whether you’ve got a special occasion coming up, or just want to distract yourself in the most delicious way possible, head to Rose + Rye’s Instagram, place an order, and then… we don’t know. Go for a walk? Delete the Twitter app from your phone? Call us, we’re worried about you. Food Rundown Banana Nutella Pie Duh. Baked into a golden, flaky crust and filled with (what seems like) 80 pounds of chocolate pudding, this pie is Decadent with a capital D. It’s essentially a banana cream pie, but with a dash of hedonism - it’s dense and delicious, with thick layers of Nutella cream and gold flakes on top. If you have anything worth celebrating, order this pie. Vegan Persian Halvas Dense little squares made with sugar, saffron, and cardamom, this dessert is reminiscent of both shortbread and caramel fudge, and that’s all good. It comes in either 15-piece or 40-piece boxes… guess which one we’re going to recommend? Brandied Date + Walnut Nazooks This traditional Armenian pastry/dessert/treat also comes in vanilla, but we like the way the dates and walnuts add a little extra crunch to the crisp, flaky pastry. Perfect with coffee at breakfast, a bite after lunch, or as a stress snack while you destroy your whole room, searching for a lost W-2." - Kat Hong

Rose Bakery Cafe is a must visit! The staff are very pleasant, accommodating, and friendly. The food is delicious - freshly prepared, seasoned, and well priced for the portions. There’s a really nice outdoor seating area, and it’s not too difficult to find parking during the week. Despite the busy atmosphere, service is very fast and we received our food quickly. I highly recommend the smoothies and jalapeño cheddar bagel!

Google
Wonderful experience, amazing quality food, highly recommend. I do want to point out my experience was on a Saturday around 2pm. With that written there was not a lot of waiting time. (I could only imagine it's packed at earlier times) We order the fiesta burrito/ stack of pancakes(blueberry) side of eggs, plus another stacked of pancakes(🍓)| I order another set of pancakes since I didn't see French Toast on the menu, but once I asked if they served French Toast, I asked if I could change the order and they were responsive & kind to change it and not charge it. We also order the fresh squeezed 🍊 juice and a vanilla Expresso shake. Again the food was delicious, not greasy- home made quality. Almost forgot- the donuts are delicious.

Google
I just paid $17 and change for a large DECAF coffee and a breakfast sandwich with egg whites, bacon and avocado…. Didn’t even get any cheese! Check out pictures. The sandwich is PA-THE-TIC!!! I had to go back to ask for a properly made sandwich and I gotta say I am still very disappointed. The first sandwich had guacamole like avocado and the second has sliced and significantly less. I make a better sandwich at home for more than half the price. Picture of second sandwich included as well. You can tell the difference. On top of the kitchen’s major L, the workers do not make the experience pleasant at all. They are rude and like to chat with each other about the drama in their lives before acknowledging customers. No “good morning”, no smiles, just “😑 what can I get you” I have lived down the street from this place for almost 15 years! Since the previous owners sold (who I loved SO MUCH!) this place has gone DOWNHILL and the prices have skyrocketed! I am sad to say I will not be going back to Rose Cafe. I’ll leave it to the tourists to continue getting ripped off. GO TO AMARITH CAFE IT IS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET BY CHRONIC TACO!!!

Food is good and services is great but really, what really gets me and what I absolutely hate are the tables outside. I have enclosed photos. These old tables are absolutely inappropriate for food service because their surface has a design that I guess cannot be cleaned. People who work here are very diligent, and I have observed that they walk around and clean it, but look at the tables. There is food and dirt and who knows what in there because I guess they just cannot be cleaned unless they wash it with a brush every day. At any rate, I’m not an expert all I can say is that way things are the tables are extremely uncomfortable, and frankly disgusting. This place deserves better, tables with a flat surface that can be cleaned. The bathroom could be in a better shape as well. For many years I’ve been coming to this bakery at least once a week & sometimes both Saturday & Sunday but after coming into this place for three years, I stopped because I just couldn’t eat food on these dirty tables. I think they need to change the tables into something more comfortable and clean. Also, would be nice to have some decent napkins. The current ones are very cheap and ineffective. If they fix these things, I’ll go back and give five stars.

Google
A cafe right on PCH. It’s in a great location with scenic outdoor dining, nice breakfast/lunch options, a small parking lot (essential in this location), and nice coffee according to my friend! I ordered the breakfast burrito and was very happy with it. It wasn’t as stuffed as my usual breakfast locations, but the bacon was crispy, and the flour tortilla had a nice crunch where they toasted it! The complimentary water was also cold and fresh, something I really appreciate on a hot day.

I have been dining at Rose Cafe for over ten years, and the food has always been wonderful. Unfortunately, today I had the worst service I’ve ever experienced here, which really ruined what should have been a pleasant morning. When our food was being served, we politely asked a server (an Asian lady dressed in black) if one of our French toasts was still coming. To our surprise, she raised her voice at us and insisted that the restaurant has never served French toast. I calmly explained that we’ve ordered it many times before, but she repeatedly and very rudely emphasized that in her 30 years working there, she had never seen French toast on the menu. Not even a minute later, she herself brought the French toast to our table and bizarrely said, “Wow, they actually made French toast for you,” without offering any apology. Instead, she continued to insist she had never seen it before. The entire experience left me and my family shocked and upset. I never expected to be treated this way, especially at a restaurant I’ve supported for a decade. My disappointment has nothing to do with the food—which remains delicious—but entirely with the lack of professionalism and respect in the service. After ten years of loyalty, this is the first time I’ve walked away from Rose Cafe feeling truly let down.

Google
Used to come here since 2015. Was always nice neighborhood, homey, cozy breakfast place. They did remodel last year and now, not so cozy, loud and looks like every other coffee shop. Food & coffee is only reason I gave 3 stars 🌟. No table service, order at counter. Not homey atmosphere. And prices have DOUBLED. Don't go by menu prices on Google. They're incorrect! Sad that all the changes caused a great experience to turn into worse as going to Starbucks.

Google
The breakfast burritos are the best in town and honestly the best around any town!! All ingredients are fresh and even if there’s a line out the door (because it’s THAT amazing) it will move quickly because their customer service is that good. This establishment truly knows good food and good service. Also don’t sleep on their donuts and muffins. They are phenomenal and not too sweet!

Yelp
After a morning workout on the beach--because nothing says holiday spirit like burning calories before eating--we landed at my boyfriend's favorite breakfast spot. We walked in and spotted an open table outside, perfect in this beautiful So Cal weather ... we trully are spoiled. While I secured our seats, he ventured in to place our order. It's a popular spot but not very big, a cafe, so be prepared to wait or opt for take out. Today we got lucky and alfresco we brunched. While we waited for our order, we were treated to the fresh juices as our choice for breakfast beverages which were in full holiday attire: The orange juice was solid--bright, refreshing, like sunshine in December. The raspberry lemonade was bursting with actual berries, like they literally emptied a bag of holiday jewels into it. Our order of matching vegetarian breakfast burritos arrive, and let's just say Santa himself would swap cookies for one of these. Warm, hearty, perfectly wrapped like a gourmet present. Eggs, veggies, and that just-right seasoning... the kind of breakfast burrito that makes you feel like you've made good life choices ... about breakfast anyway. Perfect stop after breaking a sweat ... unfortunately we had a packed day so won't be enjoying this years Christmas Walk but drove by and saw all the preparations for those who will be strolling the prettiest beach town around. Rose Bakery Cafe was festive, delicious, and remains on our "nice list." Although, just becasue it's nice, doesn't mean there isn't depth in the options . . . next time will try some of the more "naughtier" treats, the bakery smelled heavenly.

Yelp
Admittedly, it was the CDM Christmas Walk, so things were a little crazy, but I wasn't too impressed with this spot. I know it gets a lot of hype on Yelp, but for me it landed squarely in the average category. The location on PCH is definitely cool, and the outdoor patio is a nice touch, but the food just didn't wow me. Service was on the slower side, and they were already out of the cilantro dressing at 1:00 PM, which felt a bit early to be out of anything. Overall, fine for a quick stop if you're already in the area, but not a place I'd rush back to.

Yelp
Literally my favorite place on the planet. I made sure I go here every single time I'm home in Newport. The California burrito has my whole entire heart This place is what I describe as a must go when you're in town. Try a smoothie, you won't regret it.
google avatar

Mckenzie O.

Yelp
A must go when in town. California burrito is delicious (I get it with no spinach), coffee is good and smoothies are great as well. Seating inside is small but they have a large patio area. Service is fast as well.

Yelp
We stopped by Rose Bakery in Corona del Mar on Labor Day. It was definitely busy, the line was long, but we were lucky enough to grab a table right away. After ordering, there was a bit of a wait (totally expected given the holiday crowd). We tried the burrito, but honestly, it didn't wow us. It lacked flavor and I probably wouldn't order it again. On the other hand, the Meat Lover's Skillet was really good! hearty, flavorful, and definitely the highlight of the meal. Overall, I'd say Roses is good, but not amazing. It wouldn't be my first choice for a burrito in the area, but I'd come back to try more of their breakfast options. Worth a visit if you're nearby, just don't expect to be blown away.

Yelp
The only place where the napkins are worse is in the country of Peru. These things barely hold up for one wipe of anything. Better take 50/75 of them per meal.
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome donuts. Everything was fresh, service was quick and friendly. Lots of variety in donut flavors and not a single one disappointed. Great stop to start your day.

Yelp
This is such a cute cafe! Too bad about the parking situation. Mostly street parking and had to park a few blocks away and walk here. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating can feel a but cramped though depending on how busy it is. My friend and I opted to dine in. We were given a number to put on our table and the servers would bring the food to us. I ordered the Rose Benedict with the peach smoothie. Both were delicious!! I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Too bad about the parking situation or else I would come more often!

Yelp
I was visiting family in Newport Coast area and they recommended this spot for breakfast/brunch. Parking can be a little tricky if they are busy because its located on the corner. You order at the counter and they bring it out to your table. They have a small inside seating section, but a bigger patio with heaters. It was pretty busy table wise, but we found one on the patio. They move pretty quickly. We got a lot of items- raspberry smoothie, california breakfast burrito, crossiant country sandwich, cronut, chocolate old fashioned donut, fruit cup, and country breakfast burrito. Everything was great, but my favs were the crossiant country sandwich and donuts. The burritos were good but I liked the crossiant sandwiches just a little better. The donuts were so fresh and flavorful. The cronut reminded me of a layered fresh krispy kreme. (Not pictured) The fresh cut fruit and smoothie were also really refreshing. I would absolutely come back here. Overall experience 4.5/5

Yelp
Nice location - right on PCH. Food is good too though nothing out of this world. We got the club sandwich and a croissant sandwich. Both on the higher end of quality but not quite the best. The bread just isn't top level, it's good but not great. This place is more for capital A - Ambiance. PCH / CDM / Newport Beach. Right cross from where they film Selling OC on Netflix. Great place for rich people take their lunch dates.

Yelp
I was visiting Newport and came across this restaurant via Yelp. My son was leaving to fly back east and I asked him if he wanted breakfast. He preferred takeout and bring it back to the villa so we can eat together with family. And that's what I did. Ordering online was efficient, the food especially the pancakes and banana pancakes were ONO. We will definitely dine in the patio area and enjoy the yummy pastries next time. Highly recommend this place for breakfast.

Yelp
I have been coming here for the past 4-5 years whenever I want to do a relaxing weekend brunch. Such a solid spot with beautiful outside seating! They recently updated the inside, which I am not quite of a fan of, but the outside still has the same outside cafe vibes! Plus, you get to see all the luxury cars drive by, which is a plus in my eyes. Regarding the food and coffee, I have yet to have a bad drink or breakfast item. My go-to will always be the breakfast burrito with the tomato tortilla. The salsa is a must-have with the burrito! I suggest adding some veggies to add a little health kick to it! As far as drinks, their Vanilla Latte truly has some good balance between creamy and coffee flavor! Highly recommend, and great little shop along the coast!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome location. Perfect menu. Dedicated staff. ROUND OF O' PLAUS 4/5 on parking. Have to back up out of parking spot to exit because only one entrance. Outdoor dining has easy access for all disabilities

Yelp
This is a belated update on Rose Bakery Cafe. I bought a few of their baked-at-the restaurant muffins and took them home to Texas. Believe it or not, it survived the trip intact and no spoilage either! Well, after arrival in Texas, I had to taste the muffins and sure enough, they were delicious - in fact one of the best homemade muffins my mouth has tasted in years. I don't remember a tastier muffin to be honest. Mind you, these were a day old when I finally tasted them. I can't imagine how fresh they would have tasted the same hour we bought them. They were a little pricey in my opinion, but based on what we paid for, it was worth. Now, we have a go-to place to eat breakfast in Newport Coast in SoCal!
google avatar

Heather D.

Yelp
Came here after passing by it so many times. I ordered a tuna melt and a latte. Both were pretty standard and how you'd expect them to be. The tuna melt was good but basic. There is a decent amount of outdoor seating which makes for a good outdoor lunch. The menu and interior looked updated and renovated.

Yelp
Rose Bakery Cafe is the perfect place for Sunday brunch! I came here around 10AM, and it was PACKED. You order when you come in and then grab a table if you see one open. While each table was occupied, the turnover was fast, so we were able to grab a table shortly after arriving. They have a full breakfast and lunch menu available, with various coffee and smoothie drinks as well. They also had a donut/pastry display available. I opted for the California breakfast burrito, which was delicious and had bacon, spinach, avocado, egg and cheese. It came with salsa, which I didn't particularly enjoy (it had no spice at all). When sitting outside, you get a nice breeze from the ocean, but it is very crowded, so maybe not the best ambiance if you want something more relaxing. Overall, a solid brunch spot, reasonable prices, and a wide selection of food and drink items.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
Went here this morning, and it was packed outside, but we still found a table. Now I see why--it's that good! Inside, they had two people at the register and a great selection of donuts and croissants. I tried their croissant donut (Cronut), and wow--it was incredible. I'm not usually a donut person, but I couldn't resist, and I'm so glad I didn't. It was perfectly fresh, not artificial like Krispy Kreme, and I immediately wanted another. I also got a café mocha with oat milk--delicious but very hot, so be careful! My boyfriend wasn't thrilled about the heat, but it just shows how fresh everything is. The location near the beach is a huge plus, and honestly, I wish I could live here. Definitely a 5/5 experience. If you're craving pastries, this place has an amazing selection. I left feeling full, happy, and already planning my next visit!

Yelp
Best breakfast!!! Great staff and clean environment. We ordered breakfast and everything was perfect. We ordered omelets which came with fruit, hash browns, and toast. We also ordered salsa and an island smoothie to go!

Yelp
Had a great lunch....highly recommended as they offer a wide array of fresh baked goods and we'll prepared sandwiches. My go to.....egg salad on whole wheat.

Yelp
Amazing bakery specially the blueberry muffin their coffee is really great The California burrito is so tasty I enjoyed the smoothies specially the strawberry Keep up the good job
google avatar

Hana A.

Yelp
In need of a quick brunch? Rose has it. Everything bagel with cream cheese and avocado can't go wrong. Their hot oatmeal bowl, healthy choice, amongst many other choices they really do have it all. You can sit outside and enjoy the weather on almost any given day. Friendly service and staff.
google avatar

Shaeli Z.

Yelp
Great sandwiches and pastries. I love the service and coffee. The croissant I had was delightful and flaky. Seems like a super popular place
google avatar

Sabrina A.

Yelp
Stopped by on the way back from the beach around 6am and there was surprisingly already a few people so I assume it gets very busy. Indoor and outdoor seating available but indoor seating is limited. Place was cute and clean, and had their pastries on display. I decided to order a hot oatmeal with a hot matcha (have it but not listed on the menu). It was good, and service was overall okay- not rude but not friendly. Place wasn't super extraordinary, I think I'd try other coffee shops before returning.
google avatar

Ashley N.

Yelp
Came here for the first time today, and will definitely not be coming back. My food and coffee came out quite fast, but the quality was absolutely horrible. The eggs were good, but my sausage was ice cold and my latte tasted disgusting.
google avatar

Lillian F.

Yelp
Nice ambiance with the AC blasting inside which was nice. Very clean and inviting. Got a smoothie to go. All baked item are gone by the time I arrived at 1:30 pm.

Earl S.

Yelp
Went for a quick breakfast and had an excellent bagel and lox dish. Plenty of lox and with union bagel and fixings. Reasonable and nice location outdoors.
google avatar

T P.

Yelp
We came here on a Sunday morning to have a quick bite before our walk on the beach. Very limited private parking but plenty street parking. The outdoors seating is also limited and the restaurant is extremely busy. We ordered the California breakfast burrito (eggs, spinach, bacon) and a Cronut. It took over 15 mins to get our food bc it was very busy. The cronut was light, fluffy and perfectly sweet. The burrito made amazing, fresh ingredients. As we ate our burritos, a man walked by and asked where we got it. Definitely a great spot, will return and recommend!
google avatar

Ahmed E.

Yelp
Since the ownership changed for bakery it took a very bad turn. I gave it a couple of tries after owners changed and it was very very disappointing. I got the veggie omelette and it was very bland and tasteless no salt no pepper no fat and my biggest issue that I'm vegan and I got a piece of bacon in my omelette which I'm allergic to so thank god I didn't eat it and threw the rest away. Unfortunately it was to go so I couldn't complain in person about it. Extremely disappointing experience. I'm not going back again.
google avatar

John C.

Yelp
Just go! Zero disappointments!!! And pricing....better than 99% of other businesses. I had the Country Omelette & I highly recommend it!!!
google avatar

Blake S.

Yelp
Gotta love Rose! Such a great spot. Love the new look. Food is always on point and healthy. Great for a lunch or breakfast go to!
google avatar

Doug P.

Yelp
Order at the counter and they'll bring your food out to your table if your dining in. Limited seating inside and out. Parking is even more limited with 39 minute parking directly in front of the restaurant. They did a lot of grab and go business while we were there. The menu is somewhat small. Mostly breakfast burritos and breakfast sandwiches. What we had was very good.
google avatar

Susan M.

Yelp
"What's in a name? that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." I've been meaning to check out this bakery for the longest time ever since I noticed it on a colleague's Instagram business page. I passed by it all the time during my leisure drives on the PCH. I finally got myself to check it out this morning after waking up really early and I'm so glad I did! The donut selections are very standard and straight forward with nothing too fancy or complicated. I ordered a maple bar with a decaf hot coffee and it was so yummy. The indoor seating is a bit limited but the outdoor seating is plenty which is perfect for the location. I brought back the lox bagel for my husband and he said it was really good. I'm glad to have finally checked off this place on my list! I noticed all of the locals come here and the employees knew most of their names which was really heartwarming to see.
google avatar

Lesli S.

Yelp
Yum! Great experience here. Lots of food for the price. Can choose just coffee & pastry (no gf unfortunately) or full meal of eggs/bacon/etc. split an omelet w/a friend & there was plenty for each of us. At approx $15 came w/bacon, potatoes, toast, which I thought was pretty good. Fresh fruit was tasty, but nothing was as good as their raspberry lemonade. The raspberry lemonade is the most amazing thing I've ever had!!! It's like they took an entire pack of raspberries, muddled them & then squeezed in simple syrup w/fresh lemons. I dream of this lemonade at night!!! Patio is nice place to sit. Gets crowded, but turns over regularly.
google avatar

Ana M.

Yelp
I used to come to This place all the time. Went there on Sunday after a long time, the quality of food was not the same unfortunately. The juice and coffee was still good and fresh. We got followings: Lox Benedict- 3 eggs with grilled potato Country Platter - Egg, bacon, tomato, mushroom with cheese and hash brown Salmon with Salad Green Juice Cappuccino Only the drinks were satisfying. Service was good and outdoor sitting on sunny day jn Autumn is perfect. Feed not recommended anymore!
google avatar

Harper F.

Yelp
So BOMB. This is an "order and seat yourself" restaurant and they are so quick to serve. I ordered an iced coffee and bagel sandwich. My bagel sandwich was divine. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You can tell they use fresh and quality ingredients in their meal. I would rate the food 10 stars if I could.
google avatar

Rob C.

Yelp
Food - breakfast sandwiches, breakfast bowls and burritos, donuts, coffee, etc. Service - fast and friendly Ambiance - indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to eat breakfast and lunch! Verdict - always a great place to eat, especially weekends. If you like nice cars, sit outside and am sure you'll spot a few while seated outside
google avatar

Mary E.

Yelp
Can be a little bit of a wait so if you can, order ahead. Or expect a wait to sit possibly. I really enjoy their breakfast burritos. They have different options.. I get the spinach tortilla. They have good smoothies too. The burritos can be shared as they are a bit large. I like this spot but parking can also be tricky because of the area.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
I thought this place was super cute! Great little coffee shop in Corona Del Mar. The outside area is nice and the service is good. I got a latte and it was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the best lattes I've ever had. My daughter got an iced coffee and she thought it was delicious as well. My husband got the iced tea and it was strong with lots of ice and very good! The breakfast on the other hand was definitely lacking. I got the avocado toast on sourdough and added scrambled eggs on top and it came out cold and the avocado was just sliced, not smashed like a lot of other places do it was basically a piece of bread with two slices of tomatoes and sliced avocado, no olive oil no butter no nothing so it was dry and cold. And there were barely any scrambled eggs, Definitely the worst avocado toast I've ever had. My husband got the chewing breakfast with an English muffin, and that also came out cold in the English muffin wasn't even toasted at all the other food that was coming out looked pretty good like the omelettes and the pancakes. My daughter got the breakfast burrito and it was small and not that great so I would recommend this place for coffee but not for food.
google avatar

Faith-Carmen L.

Yelp
great service, i also ordered a latte that was really large and affordable. the food was delicious as well, very filling. the seating outside was comfortable

Alexis A.

Yelp
I decided to come and check out this cafe since it's always hella packed. I got my fave, hot cocoa (since I can't drink coffee) and a patty melt for lunch. The patty melt meat sandwhich overall was too bland for me but the size of the patty was very generous! I felt like the company could have added more ingredients like grilled onions, mushrooms, bell peppers. thousand island, etc... The melt was good enough for two people as well. I was looking for soup because I wasn't feeling at my best and there wasn't any soup. Would I come back here? Sure but for the pastries and sweets. Hot cocoa was enjoyable too as well! It beats Starbucks hot cocoa though!

Yelp
Fiesta Burrito was 10/10!!! This came highly recommended by the cashier (guy, dark hair, super friendly). He mentioned it was spicy but it was perfect for my mom who usually doesn't do well with spicy food - just a few jalapeños here and there. I devoured it before I remembered to take a photo (oops!) Latte was probably 6/10 - we ended up going to Reborn down the street to pick up a latte instead. Donuts were 7.5/10 - we ordered the glazed donuts and the apple turnover. Nice ambiance - easy place to catch up with friends. You order at the front and grab a table/number for them to deliver the food to you.

Yelp
The food was fresh and delicious. The service and atmosphere were great! All the employees greeted all the guests. And I loved how it was dog friendly too!

Yelp
Really dissatisfied this morning with our order. We got two of the sun rise burritos that were good, but we ordered a vegan breakfast burrito bowl and it was disappointing. The veggies were undercooked, and they completely omitted the potatoes from our bowl. Front cashier was friendly, and ambiance was busy but fine.

Yelp
We have been driving past this restaurant for over 20 years. Been wanting to try it. We stopped in and had lunch and it was the most amazing lunch we have had in a long time. I got the vegetarian sandwich on baguette my husband got the locks on a croissant our daughter got the vegetarian on rye. It was excellent And their pastries off the chart. We will be making this a main stay every time we come to this area so happy we tried it after all these years.

Yelp
I just paid $17 and change for a large DECAF coffee and a breakfast sandwich with egg whites, bacon and avocado.... Didn't even get any cheese! On top of the kitchen's major L, the workers do not make the experience pleasant at all. They are rude and like to chat with each other about the drama in their lives before acknowledging customers. No "good morning", no smiles, just " what can I get you" I have lived down the street from this place for almost 15 years! Since the previous owners sold (who I loved SO MUCH!) this place has gone DOWNHILL and the prices have skyrocketed! I am sad to say I will not be going back to Rose Cafe. I'll leave it to the tourists to continue getting ripped off.

Yelp
Baristas are not needed to pour an ice tea, but I had to wait for my ice tea until a barista was done with all the special orders. Unnecessary wait, so no stars for service.
