Yelp
Rose La Moon opened where Quince was. 4ish table dine-in area. Order on kiosk near counter. No paper menu. Very inconvenient. Associate standing by with suggestions..
Ordered. Paid. Food arrived within 10 minutes.
Offerings: hawker street food, chef's specials, salads, wok entrees, sauces & sides, desserts, specialty cakes, specialty beverages.
Sips: iced lemongrass-pandan tea (4.50)
-slight lemongrass flava, subtle hint of pandan. Touts antioxidant benefits. Very sugary. Hype?
Bites: hat yai quarter leg fried chicken with sweet & sour sauce (10.95)
-leg quarter supposedly marinated, fried, served with shallots. Chicken meat moist, not juicy. No flava tasted. Sweet & sour sauce a distraction
In hindsight, adding s/s sauce too quickly a mistake. Fried chicken itself needs to be savored before adding sauce.
Moo Manao salad (13.95)
-poached pork pieces served over fresh sliced garlic, broccoli, cabbage, basil leaves with spicy green chile lime sauce, lime squeezes.
-mixed it all up. Pork bland, tasteless. Lime & chilis overpowdered by strong garlic presence.
*ate this later. Time may have diluted potency of all tastes except for garlic.
Passed on desserts. Quantity best shared with friends.
4 stars: fresh ingredients. Nice presentation. Taste test disappointing...affects value...after digesting owner's response....seeing a misread on my part of the complex nature of their cooking regiment. A revisit is warranted..owner gracious to explain their methodology...
