I'm only rating this a "3/5" because of its predictability, recycled creative content, and the inevitable, "We've been here for an hour... Can we go yet?"
The shows were glamorous, fun, and vastly entertaining for a while, until after the third time you realise that there is a formula, like most phony acts of entertainment. I've always liked that they keep to drag culture; the inevitable "stop lip-syncing and grab dollar bills," the cheeky jokes, and the "make fun of somebody in the audience" crap.
The drag community in Dallas is becoming increasingly droll, volatile, and bland. They gun whomever opposes them, give no fucks for respecting our "founding fathers" who gave us out sexual freedom, and make a very disturbing image for the gay community. They try too hard... Too much. Real Divas and Divine Dolls don't exist here, and that's why NYC has shows that are worth my time and effort to see.
If you're visiting Dallas, come to Rose Room and see what's in store. If you live in Dallas, wait until the next time you travel to see a show.
