30-Year-Old Fairmont Restaurant Has Closed Temporarily - Eater Philly

"Rose Tattoo Cafe, a neighborhood staple since 1989, has temporarily closed amid a change in ownership. The restaurant, located at 1847 Callowhill Street, closed on July 26 and is experiencing a delay in transferring its liquor license. The founders Michael and Helene Weinberg turned the restaurant over to Michael Maltepes in May. The restaurant may reopen in a couple of weeks, with its reservations currently offline. Known for its date-night ambiance, Rose Tattoo Cafe serves dishes like roast chicken and pasta." - Erin Russell

Where to Eat and Drink Along the Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia | Eater Philly

"Romance has been in the air at this Fairmount corner restaurant for 30 years. Book a table for two on the foliage-filled mezzanine after a visit to the Barnes museum and dig into mussels with garlic butter, pappardelle with sausage and short rib, or roast chicken with risotto." - Caroline Coral

I love this little spot. We visited the area this past Saturday, from the DMV because my boyfriend is from there. He insisted we go here for dinner. Dinner was great. A very nice experience. At the end of the night my boyfriend proposed!! We want to thank you Rose Tattoo Cafe from the bottom of our hearts, for putting up with and allowing the photographer he hired to capture something so special in such a wonderful setting. And for allowing him to get in your way the whole night..lol.. and mostly for sharing such a special moment with us! My night was amazing!! We will definitely return over and over!! Warmest wishes!! The future Mrs and Mr. Isaac Anderson!!

Great ambience and location. Most of the food was good too. Service was a little slow and the Angus beef burger we ordered was really sub par. Overall good experience but I hope the reason for 3 stars is clear from above.

Rose Tattoo is back open! Same historic charm inside, incredible staff, and the back area and upstairs has gorgeous garden vibes with real plants. And incredible playlist with classic/timeless tunes. If Kevin takes care of you/your group you'll have a great time.

Kevin is the greatest bartender of all time. He is so incredibly kind and attentive and made the most amazing martini I’ve ever had

I've always kept this restaurant near & dear to my heart as a quaint, romantic spot for 1st dates or girls supper night. You can psy to park diagonally across the street for a few extra bucks. I always get the salmon entered, its normally delicious however a week ago it was at best average. I was super excited about the (cool) cucumber soup, it had hints of salmon & cream cheese & I tried sticky rice with some type of spices chicken, that was good too. I was a lil underwhelmed with the snap peas, however perfectly crisp ; I don't think it paired well with the salmon dish, the portion was super small and literally it was served w/ one medium tight shrimp.....seems as if the ingredients have declined...atleast the bread /butter was still consistent. My date complained the restrooms was too narrow.

The food here was great, we all were very happy with our dinners. Great service and the Tattoo Spritz was quite good.
