Got the Burnt Ends Dinner, it's was fantastic! I loved the beans with the little spicy kick and the meat was so tender and flavorful. When I'm back in town I'll surely stop by again. Thank you! Came back again now nearly a year later, great service, and awesome sandwich. This time around I got the Mac+Cheese and the 'Double-Header' ... unreal flavor, those deep fried jalapenos slices were like candy. Thanks!

Google
This was a good place for lunch. We received service quickly and with some playful banter. We got the ribs and burnt ends dinners. The bread, fries, and coleslaw were normal and typical for a KC bbq joint. The beans, however, were unexpectedly special... I think they had lots of green peppers to give it a nice flavor. I really enjoyed those. The ribs and burnt ends were good and bountiful. I would not say they are the best I've had in KC, but they are good for KC bbq. 👍The portions, good flavors, and friendly staff make this an easy recommendation from me. Go have a plate! Don't forget to ask to try the spicy sauce!

Google
I hadn’t been here for a few years. The smells are heavenly and the food is still outstanding. They have classed the place up a bit but still has that Rosedale charm. Love the “dog” options!

Anything everything

Google
Awesome friendly family environment from the workers to the customers everyone feels like family . This is why I continue to spread the word as Rosedales is the best BBQ around.Your money definitely goes along way here 😋

Google
Decided to give this place a try for the first time. I got the pulled chicken platter with fries, Mac & cheese and what the menu said was a cheesy baked potato. I was actually really disappointed with my entire meal. The meat was pretty dried out and didn't have a lot flavor other than some spicy BBQ squirted on top. The Mac & cheese was extremely disappointing! Flavorless, definitely not enough cheese and just not at all enjoyable. Also the "cheesy baked potato", was actually just a big scoop of potato chunks, bacon and some cheese sauce stuff all stirred up. Definitely not at all good and had almost a rubbery taste. Over all, I won't be going here again and it was definitely not worth the money I spent on everything.

Google
I got the burnt end dinner. I chose cheesy potato bake and potato salad for my sides. I wanted macaroni and cheese, but they were sold out. The portion sizes were good. The meat did not have a smoked flavor or much flavor at all, and the barbecue sauce was too sweet for my liking. The sides, however were very delicious. The potato salad was very good and had a great ratio of ingredients. it had a dill flavor to it without being overpowering. Cheesy potato bake was very good and seasoned extremely well. I would return to this place simply because the side dishes were so delicious and I’d be willing to give the meat another try. It is not very often that I like side dishes from a barbecue place.

Google
Rosedale is a very stereotypical hardcore KC BBQ joint in the BEST of ways. There were no other sauces, but the Rosedale Kansas City BBQ sauce. You can tell this place is delicious before you open the door. You hear the conversations being held by the large gathering crowd, that this place is worth every calorie. There's a huge crowd without a wait. You can not order wrong. There's no fussy extra sauces. You went here to have the best Kansas City BBQ ribs you've had in a long time, and they deliver!

Rochelle Wallace

Google
Hands down. The best bbq I’ve ever had.

Yelp
My personal preference when anyone wants bar b que. Its the best bar b que in kansas city. I recommend the chopped beef on bread and the delicious fries and RC cola. The Perfect meal. It puts gates fatty sandwiches to shame.

Yelp
Possibly the worst BBQ I have ever had, definitely the worst in Kansas City. I ordered the Slider basket. 2 "beef" and a pulled pork, it came with fries. The meat was dry and there was hardly any on the sliders. I assume the "beef" was a roast and not brisket. The slider buns out ratio'd the sandwich and made it extra dry. The only solution was to bury in sauce, but it was bad, hard to explain. Not sweet or tangy or tasty (worse then Bryant's). The few crinkle fries that came with it were from the freezer and were over cooked and again need sauce, I choked it down as I was hungry and had paid for it. The atmosphere was fine, the counter service was fine. With so many options within a mile of this place I would never go back.

Yelp
Had to visit one of my all time favorites while in KC. First visit was at the former location right next door. Built the new improved facility and tore down the old one. Yep it was long ago. Still the same flavor as always. The ordering at the counter and immediately getting the food is perfect. Had my combo on sliced bread, a special order and it was ready in less than a minute. Oh and the fries. Hot and crispy, wow. With the BBQ sauce, a taste sensation for sure. She had her favorite burnt ends platter. So much food. Beans, slaw and sliced bread. Rosedale's serves lots of hard working folks in short order. Get your food, enjoy it and back to work. They have this so figured out. So mosey on down to Southwest Boulevard and try an old time favorite. You're going to love it.

Yelp
So I don't claim to be any kind of BBQ expert. And for me, experience counts almost as much as quality of food. My recent visit to Rosedale delivered on both. I really enjoyed sitting at the counter and watching the varieties of orders come in. Pro tips: this is some of the best fried okra I've ever had anywhere, so if that's your thing, order up. They also have a hot pickle they cut into spears and sell for a couple bucks. Totally worth it.

Yelp
Rosedale is not one of my top five bbq spots in KC but it is a staple. I feel like they are very similar to Wyandotte BBQ but imho Wyandotte is slightly better. I hadn't been in several years but decided to check it out again since I was nearby. I ordered a combo sandwich with chopped beef and sausage. The meat doesn't have a lot of smoke or char flavor and was a bit dry. The sausage was good sized and was just split open. The sausage was definitely my favorite between the two meats. The size of the sandwich is good for the amount of money you pay. We also tried the fries which were great and probably the favorite of the sides. The Mac and cheese had no flavor and I would skip this in the future. I also didn't care for the beans but I'm picky about bbq beans. The fried mushrooms were average and again, I probably wouldn't order them again. The whole pickle was good and I liked that it was quartered. I ordered my dogs a hot dog and they seemed to throughly enjoy it. If you're a KC native and haven't checked them out, do give them a try. They have low prices and good sized portions but definitely not the best bbq in KC.

Yelp
We came to Rosedale Barbeque based on the recommendation of a friend while in town, but also heard a lot of buzz about it while in the area! We came late towards the end of the night, and they were kind enough to give us a little complimentary sampler since it was our first KC barbeque experience! Therefore, we tried so so much that I'll try to summarize as follows - - Faves: Variety of sliders to try different meats, sliced turkey, and CHEESY MASHED POTATOES - Mid: Fries were okay (but take out to be fair), pulled chicken was just okay Overall, the menu is huge so you can find your faves and sauce them up to your liking. Just always always get the cheesy potatoes!

Yelp
I literally threw $45 worth of food in the trash. Sauce was nasty, no smoke flavor in any of the meat(I had sausage brisket turkey pulled pork and chicken), & it was all so dry I tried to choke it down but couldn't. It's amazing that they call this food let alone bbq. Save your money and go to Slap's.

Yelp
We live in Omaha but ALWAYS stop by Rosedales when we're in town. The BBQ is AMAZING. Hands down the best bbq I've ever had. I've had everything from the Ribs, pulled chicken & pork, and their dessert specials never miss! The fries are always fried to perfection. I love spicy sauces so their spicy bbq sauce is a must too. We've bought bottles to bring back home. Love this place!

Yelp
Spent the day in KC, decided to wait out rush hour traffic before heading home. Stopped at Rosedale to eat dinner. Hubby and I split the Flying Pig dinner. I loved the fall-off-the-bone ribs! Delish. The "bbq" chicken was fried, which I thought was strange/unique. The BBQ sauce had a decidedly chili powder flavor whereas I prefer a sweeter version. The coleslaw, French fries, and baked beans were fine. It was a very generous amount of food. Big enough to share and then some. There are lots of good BBQ places to visit in KC, this one has a long history and reputation.

Yelp
The Very Best BBQ West of the Mississippi . I been a customer since 1950ish. Live out of town, BUT, always Stop when I'm close

Yelp
Such an incredibly wonderful experience here! Family owned and operated since 1934! Shayla was amazing, so knowledgeable and welcoming. My grandfather used to bring my Dad and my Uncle here when they were young, so it was such a wonderful surprise to be able to grab a sandwich here to take home to my dad for father's day.

Yelp
WARNING If you are planning on going to Joes and there is a long line DO NOT go here it is NOT worth. The food is very bland however the food is cheap and there is cheap beer so

Yelp
I was worried about the mixed reviews but this place is some solid bbq. The meat, the sides, the service all holds up. Coleslaw was nice and sweet, beans are savory, and the Mac and cheese is actually edible when it usually grosses me out at other places. The sauce has a strong kick, they have an even spicier sauce which is also good. This place doesn't win any awards but certainly doesn't deserve the negative reviews.

Jason J.

Yelp
We live near but have never visited. We have been somewhat hesitant because of the reviews. This week we heard about an anniversary promo and 4th of July sale on ribs. We stopped in (on the 4th of July lol) knowing it would be insanely busy and it was. TBH we expected poor quality due to the quantity they would be doing. However we were pleasantly surprised. The ribs were delicious, very tender and smoky. Could have used a little more sauce. We will go back and try the other items.

Bill A.

Yelp
Rosedale is my favorite place in Kansas City to get ribs. I have never gotten any other meat there because the ribs are so good. The rib dinner is the best deal in town. Along with ribs, you get their renowned fries, beans, and slaw. I love many bbq places in the Kansas City area, but Rosedale is my go to place for ribs.

Yelp
Been here before and it is delicious, but for some unknown reason I was underwhelmed? Nothing really bad happened, nor was I treated rudely, and the food was good. Nothing spectacular either though? I will say the last at the register was super patient with a couple newbs while we looked over the menu, so there's that. Also, it's probably an unfair because we're trying to complete our KC BBQ tour so its 2locations per day. I was still very full from the previous place earlier that day. I'm sorry Rosedale, but you're still getting 4stars from me.

Beth R.

Yelp
Best BBQ in Kansas City. I have been going to Rosedale since I was a kid. Every time I take someone new there they become addicted.

Charles B.

Yelp
The brisket sandwich was just awful. The meat was extremely dry, good thing bbq sauce was available. Will definitely not eat here again.
google avatar

Yelp
Full disclosure, we only went here because Joe's was closed... but glad we did. The burnt ends (according to a self proclaimed local bbq expert) aren't true burnt end but are delicious nonetheless, they taste more like the beef cuts in a well made stew. The sauce is sweet and peppery. The sides were great. I think we paid around $32 for plenty of food for 2 people. I want to try the okra next time I'm here. The fries are crinkle cut and go so well with the burnt ends. Im a salt fiend and ended up adding a bit of salt to the meat and fries but they definitely tasted good on their own. They have cheer wine on the menu which was delightful to see after living in the south for a few years. They have an outdoor pation but it has no shade. Plenty of parking and indoor seating.
google avatar

Yelp
Very large portions of everything. Beans coleslaw potato salad bread and meat. All tasted great. Plus they gave me extra barbecue sauce. The sauce tasted great.

Cheryl B.

Yelp
I picked up our food Saturday for the Super Bowl. I spent $89 down there. I requested our ribs be sauce and she said definitely she would make sure that that was done. Open our ribs on Sunday they were like half the size that we normally get there. They were not sauced. they were burnt and not just a little burnt but a lot burnt. There was only four ribs out of the whole slab that was even edible. The rest was hard as a rock Rosedale. How could you send those out to people I paid full price for the ribs because the sale didn't start till Sunday this rain our whole dinner and if they continue to send food like that out, it is gonna affect their business last year I got ribs from them and they were excellent next year. I definitely will find someplace else to go. I am so upset that I wasted my money going to Rosedale and I feel they owe me money not a happy customer and I have been going there for many many years.

Yelp
Rosedale BBQ is a long-standing joint in KC--the kind of place that I really hope to love. The portions are very large, the meat tender. The service, cleanliness, and atmosphere was satisfactory. They have one sauce, in mild or hot versions, which is unique--but They are a bit "chincy" on the sauce. They serve it in those little condiment cups. When I asked for a little more sauce, she charged me $.29. Based on this visit, you're most likely to have an average experience compared to other local barbecue joints in the metro.

Yelp
I tried Rosedale barbecue while I was in town, and I'm glad I did. Kansas City is the world' barbecue capital, so it's tough to stand out. I got a huge quantity of food, enough for two meals, and everything was quite delicious. As a bonus, the service was friendly. I will definitely be back when I'm in town!

Yelp
Burnt ends * crinkle cut fries This dish is as classic as it gets for a KC classic like burnt ends. A heavy pile of sweet sauced burnt ends and crinkle cut fries. Founded in 1934, Rosedale is a fun spot if you're interested in KC BBQ nostalgia. They have an old-fashioned restaurant counter with shiny red stools, and tons of Rosedale memorabilia.

Yelp
When I was a teen, me and my friends used to (lamely) rate the attractiveness of girls, mostly the ones we would never get a chance to date. We'd use a scale of 1 to 10, but if we ever gave a rating of 8 or higher we'd always ask: Is it really a 10 or is it a California 10? That being the reputation of the beauty of Californians (I had never been to California at that point) merited a different scale. I feel the same with KC and their BBQ. A BBQ joint in say, Boston, should get us Kansas Citians saying "Is that really a 10 or is that a KC 10?" Many people who go to Rosedale would probably give it a score much higher than I would, but for me this is a 3/5...a KC 3/5 though. I went there and ordered a two meat plate that included pulled Chicken and Burnt Ends. I paid $17.50 for the dinner sized plate (tax and tip included) Let me get the great out of the way. The price is right, a similar meal would have cost $17~18 at Joe's KC or Q39, pretax with no tip. While a $5 different doesn't seem like much, it is a 20% price difference. And the portions were enormous. I had enough for a second meal. Just because it is cheaper doesn't mean they skimp on the portions. The Nice was that the place is a great hole in the ground with great atmosphere and I appreciate it that it is a woman led business. We need more women in the world of competitive and retail BBQ. The fries were also good (although they were of a mass produced quality), crispy with no seasoning. Some may not like that, but I don't like salty fries when I'm eating sodium laden bbq. The okay were the rest of the sides. The beans had a canned quality to them, with meat added to give them a "homemade taste". Canned beans are often overly soft and these were. The cole slaw was overly sweet and I prefer a vinager based taste, rather than KFC style. The burnt ends would have been pretty good in a non-bbq town, but this is Kansas. They were good, but nothing outstanding, so they were just average. Most of the meat was tender, while others were hard, which is not how anyone I know like them. The disappointing was the pulled chicken. It was wet, and I don't mean moist, I mean like they came out of chicken soup, that also caused the sauce on it to have a gross, watery taste to it. I'm not sure why it was this way, but I was not a fan. I was also not a fan of the sauce they used. It had no bite to mean and tasted bland. I recommend visiting this place if you are a frequent visitor of BBQ joints, as the money you save over the long run will add up. I would call this your everyday, working persons bbq joint. if you go to BBQ for special occasions or once in a while (to preserve your health!), I would recommend skipping.

Yelp
Rosedale Bar-B-Q (Feb. 12, 2023) This is the 2nd BBQ place I visited while exploring Kansas City, MO. I picked this place because it was not in the central tourist places, and had a decent review rating (4+ out of 5). Pricing is very reasonable (low mid-end), and the environment must be very casual. Visited Hawg Jaw the previous day, so as a contrast ordered burnt ends as well. The quality of the meat surprised me compared with yesterday's meal. The meat was tender, and had very good flavor from the seasonings used. It would be even better if this place offered multiple BBQ sauces to experience, but the taste of the meat itself was more than adequate even without further sauce enhancement. I rated the previous place 3.5-4 out of 5 and this place was definitely a 5 out of 5 just for the meat itself. It was so good that I ordered an extra 2 pounds to bring back to Seattle for my daughter. The staff there packed the food very well for transporting on the plane. If you ever visit Kansas City, do make sure you try out this place. You will definitely love the burnt ends like I did. Happy Eating !!!!

Yelp
I recently moved close to this restaurant but had never tried it because I'm a big fan of Gates and woodyard. I was speaking to a friend who mentioned he has been going to Rosedale BBQ since he was a kid so I thought I would try it out. I ordered the short rib dinner and boy do they deliver on the food. It was easily two meals for me and I was stuffed after both. The meat was pretty good, the sides were fine and the sauce is different. It wasn't my favorite but I could see how it could grow on someone. I'll definitely be back to try my friends favorite meal which is a combo of ham and beef on bread.

Yelp
I love this place... Food is great and I love this area. I have been going to this restaurant for years and will continue to stop in every week . The service has improved with a few new faces .

Becky B.

Yelp
Love this place! We've been coming here for years! 1/2chicken is amazing with well done fries is a go to for us. Turkey is some of the best in town! Consistent and great atmosphere if you dine in. VERY good for take out as well! Enjoy!

Itzel P.

Yelp
We're from out of state and wanted to try some good barbecue and found this place! It was very disappointing to say the least. It's over priced for the food they serve. All the meats were unseasoned and the brisket was dry. The only thing we enjoyed was the old fashioned setting and the people there were nice . In summary, if you want a cool atmosphere go there but if you want good bbq don't!
google avatar

Leo C.

Yelp
Ordered half a rack of ribs. The ribs were well cooked. I like that the ribs are served with minimal rub and a small brush of their sauce lox it really lets the taste of the meat come through. Nice crust and melt in your mouth meat. Sauce is citrusy and pepper forward. I like that their plates come with slaw and beans. The meats is made to be the star of the show.

Yelp
I wanted to love this but ... it didn't wow me. This I'll give it: the sausage slider was amazing and the service was friendly as can be. Still, it didn't have that special something for which KC barbecue is so rightfully known. The burnt ends were underwhelming. More like an ok brisket than an amazing delicacy. The pulled chicken was oddly flavorless - it was tender, sure, but it was like you could only taste anything if you added sauce to it. The sausage was a very nice surprise though: crackly, juicy, delicious. I'd order that for days! The fried green tomatoes were a nice touch, too. Rare item to find and tasty. I'd happily come back because it was inexpensive and friendly, it's just that I'd probably stick to a small number of menu items when there. Having said that, I haven't tried the ribs so maybe that's the secret weapon waiting to blow my mind. I'll find out ....

Yelp
If you want BBQ in KC, follow your NOSEDALE The closer you get, the stronger that the smell GROWSDALE The meat gets juicy and the rich sauce FLOWSDALE Come and try some perfect KC BBQ at ROSEDALE Compared to Kansas City every other Q BLOWSDALE Texas isn't quite as good and STL's all POSEDALE You can't cook it quickly, you have to smoke it SLOWSDALE And that's the way they do it when they do it here at ROSEDALE This place is so high it makes the others seem like LOWSDALE So you should come to all the places only Fox E KNOWSDALE And yes I talk in 3rd person when I'm writing my PROSEDALE Come and try some perfect KC BBQ at ROSEDALE I tried to rap this live on stage but then I went and FROZEDALE Arthur Bryant's and LC's so yum but I'm glad this AROSEDALE And if you take my BBQ away I'll throw ELBOWSDALE Come and try some perfect KC BBQ at ROSEDALE Bring all your slutty friends and all your male HOSDALE And when I bring Barbie she'll get sauce on her TOESDALE But hopefully that sauce won't permastain her sexy CLOTHESDALE Come and try some perfect KC BBQ at ROSEDALE There's nothing here but BBQ and it really SHOWSDALE I often think of BBQ when I am in the THROESDALE I see somebody's juicy ribs and I say WHAT ARE THOOOOSEDALE Come and try some perfect KC BBQ at ROSEDALE I spent so much money on these ribs my house FORECLOSEDDALE And Barbie had to make us money with her boobs EXPOSEDDALE And now I'm going to show her where my British Sausage GOESDALE But after we work up an appetite it's off to ROSEDALE WHAT I prefer Jackdale if we're talking about Titanic, but we're not, so Rosedale is the bomb. Although someone recently told me not to use the bomb in this way in reviews. Apparently it's disrespectful to 911 victims. K. I made it to Kansas City in the evening after being in Dallas until 2 in the morning the night before. I even squeezed workout in at YMCA of Tulsa in mid morning. Once I made it to the KC of BBQ legend, I wanted to try some BBQ that I hadn't tried before. So out of the 8 quarter finalists in the Oklahoma Joe's Victory playoff, I had been to 4, all of which had won their QF and all of which are in my top 5 in the area (Woodyard, Joe's KC, Arthur Bryant's and Gates). So I thought, let's try the other 4 - all of which had exited at the QF stage, but after winning a few earlier play off rounds. One of them was closed but I headed over and tried the other three. First I went to Rosedale, which was spectacularly excellent. She recommended the ribs and the beef, and I have to say they were worlds apart after my journey (get it) in terms of how much I enjoyed them. The beef was absolutely boring, bland, and not what I go for when it comes to beef. In fact, Arthur Bryant's sets the standard so high that getting beef here would be lunacy. I'm surprised they recommend Beef cuz it doesn't taste that great. The burnt ends are a little better and juicier, and I enjoyed them. But they also are not the star of the show, whereas at Arthur Bryant's they are borderline "best thing you'll ever eat." But there is a spectacular star here that puts Rosedale in the best BBQ of all time list, and makes heaven orgasm repeatedly in your mouth (like your boyfriend did last night, perhaps). So. The star of the show here are the ribs. They will fall off the bone and they are so juicy and so perfect and definitely some of the better ribs I've ever had in my life. For a while I thought that the sauce was decent but definitely not up to some of the other Kansas City sauce standards, of which Arthur Bryant's is the winner, with Woodyard and Gates not far off. But then just in time before I left the restaurant I discovered the XXX-hot version of the sauce so I put that on the ribs instead - and oh my goodness what a difference! I mean it is very hot so it almost blew my head off (as Barbie has many times), but it's also absolutely delicious and much more along the lines of salty Kansas City-style BBQ sauce. So if you combine the hot sauce with the ribs you definitely have one of the top 5 BBQ joints in the city and you have to come and try this for yourself. And when I say top 5 in KC, that means top 10 in the whole USA... because KC is the King City for BBQ. And if you come here and don't get ribs... it's a RoseFail. And if you come here looking for a big BBQ stud... just ask for a RoseMale. And if you don't have enough money to pay the bill... just RoseBail. And if you get arrested for said running-out-on-bill... I'll post RoseBail for you. But honestly, you'll probably end up in RoseJail. But on the bright side... you'll be in KC. Maybe you can order take-out direct to your cell from Rosedale.

Yelp
Myself and my wife are K.C.bbq society certified judges. Today was my day to try Rosedale bbq, I have been wanting to stop in........ I ordered the short end slab, seven bones, service was lightning fast. Appearance was decent, the meat was super chewy and dry, there was something else, I could not place, I brought it home and gave the best, innermost bones to my wife, she detected freezer burn. The sauce was very thin, and could not cover up, the worst slab I have ever had. Be it while judging, or sitting down to a good bbq meal. Seriously, The worst slab, in my life..............................................................

Yelp
Rosedale is the OG. This establishment has been serving phenomenal, mouthwatering BBQ sandwiches complimented by crispy, fresh fries and an endless array of other sides to ensure you leave ready for a nap and trip back for round 2. A lot of people like these new, fancy BBQ establishments around town but Rosedale is the Dr Dre, Quincy Jones and John Lennon of local establishments. It's the throwback of great meats rolled into one flawlessly tender sandwich. I promise you can't hold yourself to only one. If Harold and Kumar lived in KCMO, they'd be going to Rosedale, not White Castle. If this were sports, Rosedale is George Brett. It's Lynn Dawson. It's Bo Jackson running the outfield wall. Arby's claim to 'have the meats' when Rosedale is local is so preposterous its like comparing Patrick 'SB MVP' Mahomes w Jackson TikTok on a football field. While I don't condone indulging in the reefer (in writing), Rosedale is so fantastic that (a) you'll enjoy it without any added boosts, (b) you need to make sure you're aware how tasty this food is before indulging to make sure your taste buds can handle the impending tsunami of tomato based BBQ perfection and (c) the vibes, people and smell inside add an ambience that lifts even the most elevated of moods. You have to check out Rosedale. You want to check out Rosedale. You NEED to check out Rosedale. If you don't check out Rosedale, it's your loss. You'll find me there walking in like its Cheers, high diving my favorite BBQ buddies and being handed a tray and beer with a smile as big as a rack of ribs on my face. If you stop by, find me in the corner booth with a pound of fries while housing six sandwiches combos and enjoying the Ba-Da-Bing of entirely legal meats and services.

Yelp
Wasn't a huge fan. My co-worker got me some sauce and some baked beans from here. They were amazing, so we went there for lunch. The place was so smoky. Our closes, masks, even cups reeked of smoke. The irony, was the food did not have a smoky taste. The meat was not very flavorful. The sauce was pretty great, though, but they were stingy with it. You get 2 small packets.

Yelp
This was our second BBQ stop in KC. We found this place from a local shop owner's recommendation. If it was good for them, it was good for us. When we got there around noon, they had a sign on the door said "power is out at the moment". The restaurant was open but not a lot of people inside just yet. Apparently, the power just came back and people didn't know they were opened for business. They had a lot of options on their menu but we had a full day ahead of us, so we just got some burnt ends, lean brisket, and beans. Also they didn't have beer on draft, everything was bottled, meh. The burnt ends were dry and chewy with no flavors. I believe it was that way because it wasn't fresh. They looked like they have been reheated over and over. It was so bad we didn't even finish it. Do not order this. The brisket was grilled well with excellent texture, but that BBQ sauce... it was heavy on the tomato taste with too much vinegar and celery. I would call it a pasta sauce more than anything. It was just not good. The beans was surprisingly good. Soft and flavorful, really well done and I would highly recommend it. Overall I wasn't impressed. If the beans were the best thing at a BBQ restaurant, you know something was off. At least I was glad I tried it so I had something to compare to. No return trip on this one.

Yelp
We stopped in for carry out and fortunately no one was in line. While I was not a fan of the sauce and rub, the service was quick, the food was fresh and hot, and the portions were generous. The beef in a regular sandwich was lean and tender.

Yelp
Food is so good! Not always consistent in taste but still tasty everytime. Sides are delicious as well.

Yelp
Hear me out. While it's probably not the best BBQ joint in Kansas City, it is still worth a visit. Not some kind of stuck up place that makes you feel uncomfortable. You can come here and be yourself and have a good time. No expectations other than be nice shut up and eat your bbq. Seriously love coming here, wish I made it over more often.

Yelp
I am a Kansas City Native but now live in Texas. I come back to visit often and when I do there are always two BBQ spots that I have to go to, this is one of them! Not only is it a staple from my childhood it remains unchanged! Their food has been amazing since I can remember and they don't try to fix it if ain't broken. One of the best things has always been the fries! Crinkle cut fries, hot, and crispy! How can you beat that! Their brisket sandwich is amazing and you have to try their spicy sauce! If you are looking for a trendy overpriced spot, this is not the place, this place is about good food and friendly faces! This place is not a new BBQ spot in KC that seem to be just popping up everywhere, this is where you come if you want to taste the old school, true taste of KC! I love Rosedale BBQ!

Yelp
The absolute worst experience I've had in a restaurant. Ribs were dry like they had been sitting under a heat lamp. Burnt Ends were mush. French fries were overcooked. Chicken tenders were overcooked. Tried to talk to the manager who's best response was "we haven't had a complaint", even though I was bringing him one. Dismissed our concerns with zero concern. Zero stars. Will never return.

Yelp
Stopped here since it was right by my hotel after arrival. Food was not good. It was way too dry and didn't seem to be great quality. On the plus side the portions were huge and it came out really quick, building is nostalgic too.

Yelp
5 stars as always. Great service and amazing food. Our family favorite. Tasty onion rings, BBQ beef, ham and burnt ends

Yelp
I ordered the burnt ends and fries basked, with double meat. What I got was a heavy package (to go) and I looked forward to digging in. The fries were really good. The meat, that is the bad part. The "burnt ends" were very lean chucks of brisket, dry enough I would need to use force to stab with my fork when trying to pick the pieces up. With sauce they were a little less dry, but the meat quality must have been from a local source or grass fed. Very tough. Did not notice very many pieces with seared edge. Mostly just cubes, but a lot o them, probably a little more than a pound. Very few loose pieces off of any edges. The sauce is heavy on sage. I like sage but not a mouthful of it. Everybody's tastes are different. I won't be going back unfortunatley.

Yelp
I'm sad to report that I just don't get the hype behind Rosedale BBQ. I've lived in the KC metro most of my life and had never been here but always knew about it as a staple on the KC bbq scene. On the Fourth of July it was one of the only bbq places open so we decided to check it out. I will say that I love the ambiance. It feels like the kind of place that probably hasn't changed in 50 years and I love that. Also, they have a huge beer selection, which is always a good sign. I'm a huge fan of burnt ends so I ordered the burnt ends and fries and was stoked to try them out. The fries were great but it was kind of downhill from there. The sauce is good but nothing better than others in town and unfortunately the burnt ends literally tasted like pot roast - no smoke or char at all. I'd love to like Rosedale bbq but it just isn't as good as others in town.

Yelp
Rosedale is one of my favorite local barbeque spots. They are fast and efficient! All employees know what they're doing there! Sauces there are TERRIFIC! Hot barbeque sauce is my favorite and I believe it's homemade. Definitely give it a try!

Yelp
Actually the past couple of years their ribs have gone way downhill so no longer recommend Rosedale. Very sorry but someone in quality control management needs to step in and supervise quality once in a while.
