Food was just average. We ordered stuffed mushrooms, NE clam chowder, fillet mignon, and a veggie burger. All dishes lacked flavor and seasoning. Drinks were good. The restaurant is cute, cozy, and decorated with fresh flowers. We also ordered a coffee which was room temperature and did not taste fresh.

Decided to try this place after driving by for a few years. It never looks that busy but that's because it is small. Immediately impressed with the service. The food was solid. My salmon piccacta needed sauce but the salmon was cooked perfectly. Drinks were STRONG, almost too strong (is that a bad thing?) Bread, stuffed mushrooms, sides, desert...all amazing. The owner is present, engaged and polite.

raveling through the area and stumbled upon this restaurant. We arrived at 815 p.m., and the restaurant closes at 9 pm. We didn't want to bother the restaurant staff, so we're were initially rushing to put in our order. However, our waitress was absolutely outstanding and told us not to worry and that we had plenty of time! She was incredibly warm and knowledgeable of the menu as well. The food arrived shortly after placing our order and was deliciously hot (temperature) and flavorful. The bread, our appetizer, meals, and desserts were delicious. We enjoyed every single bit. Furthermore, the restaurants atmosphere was incredibly friendly and clean. We wish we didn't live so far away so that we could be regulars there. Highly recommend going if you live close by or are passing through!

We ate late afternoon, (our lunch and dinner combined). I had the NY Strip steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans. My husband had sea scallops, mashed potatoes and Ceasar Salad. All of it was excellent. We enjoyed the bread and drinks. I asked for a sweet rum drink, (not on the cocktail menu). The owner suggested and made me a Dr. Painkiller. It was perfect. We splurged on desserts. They are homemade, and they were delicious - Apple Crisp a la Mode and Chocolate cake. It was quiet that time of day, but she was expecting a full house that night. Reservations are probably a good idea in the evening. Very nice place. Loved it!

Google
Nancy is the most wonderful host! My fiance and I visited for our first time and it quickly became our new favorite spot. The food and atmosphere are impeccable. We enjoyed tomato bisque, lobster fondue dip, blackened swordfish and a goat cheese salad - it all was prepared perfectly with a ton of flavor. Even the table bread and cocktails stood out. 10/10, don't change Nancy!

Google
It was my first time and one of thee best dinners I've had in Connecticut. My parents have never had a bad meal here either. If you're down by the shore, I highly recommend Nancy's Rosemary & Sage. This quaint little place has high-quality fresh food cooked just right. Very impressed!

Google
We came here for my wife's birthday and we were not disappointed! From the quaint nice atmosphere to the attentive staff which I say went above and beyond! I think it was the owner who waited on us and she was delightful. We had a cocktail, the peach drop was so good ... highly recommend. The bread they give you is so crispy and addicting, especially with that beet sauce they give you. My wife had the French onion soup and she said it was one of the best she had. She also ordered the chicken picatta with lemon capers and no complaints. I had the blackened salmon with homemade mashed potatoes and snow peas..let's just say I had a happy plate with nothing left to speak of! I highly recommend this place..well worth your time and your stomach will thank you.

Google
I believe Erika was our server. She was wonderful! We were there for lunch today 5/2. The food was delicious (baked clams, linguine with clam sauce and chicken liver pate). The martinis were delicious as well. Well definitely go back.

Yelp
After moving down to the shoreline about five years ago, my husband and I finally made it over to Rosemary & Sage, and we're very upset that we hadn't eaten here sooner! Last year, our friends from out of town recommended R&S, which is when I heard about it for the first time, but it wasn't until last night that we finally checked them out. Despite it not being on our radar, it seemed to have a devoted following of regular patrons, with great food and a comfortable atmosphere. We carefully reviewed the menu and the specials, and struggled to make a decision! We started out with some perfectly executed cocktails: I chose the Palmatini (requesting it to be not too sweet). My husband chose a Dirty Martini and asked Nancy (the owner and also the bartender - at least for that evening) if, by any chance, she had blue cheese stuffed olives, fully expecting her to say 'no'. Instead, she said 'just give me a few minutes and I'll make some for you'. Nancy also offered us the 'dirty ice' without us having to ask! Next Clams Casino, excellent! One of my favorites because other places have SO much breadcrumbs that I feel as though I ordered stuffing instead of Clams Casino. NOT R&S, buttery and garlicky goodness topped with bacon! My husband ordered a cup of the scallop and red pepper bisque, thinking that he would have it all to himself given I am not a fan of scallops. I expected to take one bite just to give it a try, the flavor was off the chart! Before my husband and I knew it, I had eaten half of the bisque. Let's just say I got 'side eye' from my husband! Bread. Oh my, the bread. I try REALLY hard to be 'low carb' but once I had once piece of the warm, crusty, buttery bread I knew my scale would be mad at me! Do not let the color of the aioli throw you, it's pink and YUMMY! Red Beet reduction, with aioli and cheese. On to our main event. I absolutely LOVE that we could pick between a 'petite' portion or an entree portion especially given we had appetizers. My husband ordered the lobster madeira, which he said was excellent. After the bisque experience, I did not dare reach over to have a bite of his entree. There was SO much fresh picked lobster in the petite portion that we wondered how Nancy makes money on this dish! I had one of the specials, which is salmon piccata, and I chose to have double vegetables (broccoli and spinach) instead of a starch and veg as I had done enough damage with the amazing bread! The salmon was PERFECTLY cooked, so moist, and buttery. LOVED it. Then, the dessert menu. OH MY...my favorite is on the menu, carrot cake. I am VERY particular about Carrot Cake, and this was just like my mom's. PERFECT cream cheese frosting, not too sweet like others! AND they are open MONDAYs!! I absolutely cannot believe that we did not take pics! We will resolve that on our next visit!

Yelp
Not bad. I would not order the french onion soup again. Really, Gruyère or swiss belongs on FOS, not mozz. And the broth was thin, the onions boiled instead of carmelized. Pretty forgettable. The bread is lovely, light and crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, a very light hand with the garlic butter which is great. The pink "aioli"? Pass. It's heavy on the mayo. Belongs on a Whopper, maybe. The steaks were good but how can you have filet and not offer Bearnaise, or some other sauce? Mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli were good. We waited a long time between salad and entree. Two other couples that arrived after us finished up well before us. We will stop back in good weather and share one of the very large sandwich platters that passed us, hopefully outside.

Yelp
We are on an eight week road trip and staying in Niantic. We decided to sight see and have lunch too. Nancy, the owner, was our waitress. She was hospitable and talked to us like we were old friends. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection! My wife loved the dipping sauce for the bread, and the French Onion Soup was perfect, the best I ever had! I had the Blackened Salmon with mashed potatoes and squash for vegetables. We also shared a bowl of Clam Chowder. This was a nice little Gem we discovered

Yelp
Had lunch here for the first time yesterday. Food was good, service was great and the ambiance was comfortable. Cost was comparable to other restaurants in the area.

Yelp
My husband and I had an amazing meal here last night. We both had salmon, mine was over a Caesar salad. Food is delicious! We even got to meet Nancy, what a nice woman. Highly recommend!

Yelp
What a neat little spot! Great food for the area, overall good service -- my first visit was exceptional, during my second visit the server kept messing up our order and that was exceedingly frustrating. The food is wonderful, so much so that I didn't manage to take any pictures! Their berry blast special on the dessert menu is to die for.

Yelp
We went here for Easter dinner. Every single thing we had we loved! The filet with Bernaise sauce was divine. Tomato soup, the salad, the bread and aioli. Shrimp cocktail, and carrot cake. Everything was just delicious! Thank you for a wonderful meal.

Nancy M.

Yelp
Food is always great, several options to choose from on the menu and usually a few daily specials. The service is top notch. I have never been disappointed going to Nancy's Rosemary & Sage.

Raul A.

Yelp
Food was ok (save your money and cook at home instead), not a place for a nice date night dinner. Drinks were awful. I would not recommend it.

Vicki E.

Yelp
I just recently found this place after driving by many times. We stopped in a few weeks ago and were so impressed. The service is outstanding. They were friendly and attentive. The menu offers so many choices and different size portions which I appreciate. The food was so fresh with my favorite crisp vegetables. I went back tonight with a friend and was equally as impressed. The lady who waited on us was so genuine and pleasant. It's sad to say that today that can be rare going pretty much anywhere. I referred my parents who hopefully will be able to have lunch soon. We will definitely be back.

Robert L.

Yelp
This is best place ever , the food is great , all the help is so friendly , the staff Bridget, Sam,Jen, Erika and the owner Nancy can't be nicer and are so efficient , always served with a smile The prices are very reasonable , the variety of dinners is wonder

Yelp
This restaurant is slightly obscured by a large tent for al fresco dining added to the front of the building. While we struggled slightly to find the entrance it was not enough to deter us. We had parked out back in their ample parking lot causing us to approach the building from the rear. Our mistake. Inside the restaurant is mall but quaintly elegant. The dim light and decor added a nice touch. Our waitress was prompt, pleasant and efficient. She was recruited to cook ( we were told) an replaced by a mature lady who took over and explained. My wife had clam linguini on angel hair and I had a cup of scallop and roasted red pepper bisque and a petite portion of broiled scallops. We commented to our new waitress how we appreciated the offering of petite portions (my wife's was petite as well). She remarked that the practice was popular and brought in a lot of business. Our first waitress had remarked that most the tables were reserved leaving only two for walk ins. We had arrived between 3 and 4 and the restaurant was mostly empty. Before we finished the few tables were packed. The complementary focaccia was very fresh. The bisque, even though I ordered only a cup, was brimming, hot and generous. My scallops, broccoli and mashed potatoes were all delicious as were my wife's clams. The desert menu was impressive and included about 6 additional specials that all sounded delicious. We were full but ordered a fruit crisp to go. All in all a very positive and satisfying experience. We were only passing through the area but I would visit again if we were ever in the area. This is more a bistro than a cafe; reasonable but not cheap. If you prefer a diner go elsewhere. This is casual fine dining. This restaurant has a right to be proud. Try them, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
My family lives in Old Saybrook and I have to admit, I've driven by this place literally hundreds of times over the years. Never again! From the outside it doesn't look like you are about to walk into the best meal you've had in a year, but that is exactly what it is. The food is spectacular, from the bread to the dessert. I am from Northern California, home of very good (and very expensive) food, and Nancy's food was every bit as good if not better than the best restaurants back home. We had the Red Pepper Lobster Bisque and I was joking that if you put a sprig of basil on it, you could sell it in San Francisco for $20 a bowl. :) We also had the Caprese Salad which was perfect - wonderful crispy tomatoes and really nice mozarella, crab cakes, linguine and clams, Ceasar salad and a cheesesteak sandwich and every bit of it was great. I thought I'd never be able to eat everything in front of me and 25 minutes later I was wiping the last bits of the clam sauce out of my empty bowl with the last slice of breat. Well done!

Yelp
Perfect cozy spot for our dinner. We had been traveling all day and were so happy to find this sweet, comforting restaurant. Our drinks were delicious, the buttery toasts and dipping sauce divine and our entrees were scrumptious. Our server, Bridget, was warm and friendly and well versed, making the whole experience just lovely. If you have the chance visit this inviting spot-you won't regret it.

John S.

Yelp
My guests and I had the very nice pleasure of having lunch at Nancy's recently! The restaurant is very clean, warm and inviting - and with so many great menu selections, you really can't go wrong. All of us enjoyed our meals! The highlight was having Nancy as our server (as she was covering for one of the staff who was off that day)! It was very clear to all of us why this restaurant was enjoyable at every level.

Pat S.

Yelp
I have traveled the country side and dined in many fine restaurants. Nancy's has become my go to restaurant for the delicious comfort food . The service is unbelievable with smiles all the time . The prices are by far the most reasonable on the shoreline . You really need to treat yourself and visit.

Yelp
Best restaurant in the Saybrook area of Connecticut. Daily specials and fresh seafood as well as some italian style entrees like Lobster Madeira are delicious.

Yelp
Horrible food. Wait staff was nice and food arrived relatively quickly. Would absolutely not go back given our tables bad food experience (eggplant parm was the worst we have ever had).

Roger F.

Yelp
Nancy is always on site, and everyone is treated like family. Great atmosphere and OUTSTANDING meals! Brought a friend visiting from Las Vegas and she was beyond impressed. She's been back since the first visit, and Rosemary & Sage was tops on her list for a second visit, and she was just as pleased as the first visit. Consistently fantastic meals and service. Worth a visit from anywhere!!!

Yelp
Great scallop bisque. Goof Reuben sandwich. Good service. Good value. Has outdoor dining.

Yelp
Nancy's Rosemary & Sage is like walking into a comfortable, cozy but elegant bistro .Our server was pleasant and perceptive. Now for the menu, you can have a cheese burger or surf and turf I have had the pleasure to have had both and both have been -DELICIOUS . Not to mention the amazing cocktails, and reasonable prices. Don't pass by this gem without stopping in, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! A mix of cozy and upscale with the BEST server ever! All the food is fresh and homemade. Do yourself a favor and eat here! Stopped in for lunch and had the best bowl of Scallop & Red Bell pepper Bisque along with the most amazing Blackened Ahi salad

Alex M.

Yelp
Great menu, friendly service and most importantly, excellent food. Try the calamari if you like something different than fried and like a little heat.

Yelp
First the good. The atmosphere is very nice and service friendly. Good clam chowder. Dinner was a huge disappointment. My 7 year old grandson loves shrimp and scallops so we let him splurge $27.95 for a shrimp stuffed with crap and scallops. When he took the first bite, he said 'yuck'. I tasted it myself and it was awful. There was no taste of scallops or crab just wet, soggy breadcrumbs. I let the waitress know. She came back and informed me she told the chef and he said 'ok'. Really? No it wasn't ok to spend $28 for 4 shrimp a pile of flavorless mashed potatoes and some zucchini. No offer for something else. We scrapped the stuffing and he ate the shrimp. We went 30 minutes out of our way because the ratings were so good but the food wasn't. It seemed many of the diners knew the owner. Maybe many of the ratings were from personal friends. I would never go back.

Mark F.

Yelp
Excellent food and the owner is a warm and inviting person. I have dined there many times and always the same great experience. Highly recommend.

John K.

Yelp
At this moment I am sitting in Rosemary & Sage. The owner, Nancy, saved two tables and we were seated right away. The atmosphere is so homey and cozy feeling...warm and inviting. Samantha was our waitress...AWESOME..very attentive and kind. There was no rushing so you were relaxed during the meal...I had one of the best bowls of Beef Barley Soup....it came a close second to my mother's. (I have to be biased), the 12oz NY Strip melted in my mouth. And the topper to end the meal, the coffee was superb. I couldn't even order a dessert I was so full! We will definitely be back. Excellent value and kind staff.

Alicia J.

Yelp
We walked in and every single customer was over 70. That should have been our first clue. The decor and Muzak is 1987 all the way however the food wouldn't have even been good then. We started with the "Bronzed Mozzarella" which turned out to be 4 mozzarella sticks which had been cooked and allowed to go slightly cold so that they were extremely chewy. The capers with the red sauce made it super salty. I had the Sole Milanese. It was so gross my husband and each took a bite and could not eat any more - and honest to goodness I was trying not to be a princess. It was literally gross. The "Panko bread crumbs " had turned to mush and the sole was super fishy. I literally could not eat any more - it was that gross. His "New York strip" looked and tasted like it came from a bad cafeteria. I'm not sure in what universe it was considered a New York strip. It had char marks on it that were just burned - I'm guessing on a grill that had not been cleaned properly. I have had lots better food in cafeterias actually. We let the server know that the was really not good and she was apologetic and nice about it - she offered to have something else made for us to replace the fish, but weren't interested in trying any more of their food. Nothing was taken off the bill which I didn't expect but it would have been nice. My husband and I agreed that it was the worst meal we've ever eaten together. Sadly the restaurant is priced similar to really good restaurants in the area (many of our regular places are closed on Mondays). So beware. I read the reviews before we went and they looked decent. So what we got was a surprise. Ny StripNy Strip

Yelp
This place is awesome and has a reasonably priced menu for everyone and anyone. We always have Nancy waiting on us and she is fabulous and on top of it. Their drinks and cocktails are just so delicious, my favorite is the ruby red grapefruit martini, and I always make sure to end the meal with a cappuccino. The soups are fabulous but definitely try the tomato soup. Literally the best I have ever had, and I am pretty picky. Again all the entrees are good and they have a nice selection of everything, you can't be disappointed. I had a wonderful tuna that was the special one night and it was fabulous cooked to perfection.

Yelp
Really bad lunch experience! We went in with a party of 5 (the place was EMPTY when we arrived - should've been our first clue!). The service was exceptionally slow (arrived at 12 and one of the members of our party left at 1245 without getting her lunch). In addition, the waitress was inconvenienced when we asked her to pack the food 'to go' and even acted annoyed when we asked for the check! I got a bowl of soup and a side salad for my entree. My soup came out with everyone else's that had ordered a cup of soup as an appetizer. The turkey vegetable soup was a 'special' and there was nothing special about it. There were maybe 4 pieces of turkey in the whole thing and, otherwise, it was just broth with celery and onions. It was the Monday after Thanksgiving so I guess they had to do something with the leftover turkey??? Water for tea was warm at best. My 'bowl' of soup looked like it was roughly the same volume of soup as those that got a cup - mine was just in a shallow bowl for $2.00 more. The side salad was baby spinach and iceberg lettuce with 3 cucumbers, 3 slivers of onion and 3 tomatoes. They had THREE dressings to choose from. My colleague never got offered to have her soda refilled during the almost 90 minutes that we were there. We would've said something to the waitress but every time we addressed her she seemed annoyed and we decided it wasn't worth it. How this has 4 stars on Yelp is beyond me. The 5-star reviews clearly come from seasonal locals. I don't leave Yelp reviews often but their 4-stars was definitely misleading.

Tess C.

Yelp
Passed it for many years. The outside is not very exciting, so I was pleasantly surprised to fine a roomy, welcoming dining room. The staff is pleasant and well versed in the menu. The menu is of moderate size, but well balance. They offer small plate servings which is perfect for many appetites. I had fish and it was cooked to perfection. There is a small bar as well. The prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Lola D.

Yelp
The food was very good, the waitress was excellent. The overall atmosphere was... Off. It's like the place was trying WAY TOO HARD to be a fancy restaurant and failing. From the outside it looks like a dive bar so you walk in expecting that. Nope, it is an attempt at an upscale restaurant. With that said... The prices were reasonable The food was good The waitresses were super nice So all in all I would say it is still worth a stop...

Yelp
This place is so good! Outdoor tent is welcoming and very warm on cooler nights. The food is excellent! Very nice ambiance inside as well. Nancy the owner is always there to over see everything. We love the Andies candies when you pay your bill :)

Yelp
We came upon this lovely spot on our way down from Newport to NYC. The service was super nice (we ordered tea and they kept making sure we had plenty of hot water), and the food was excellent. I had the eggplant parmesan and my girlfriend had the steak and the scallop and red pepper bisque. She said the bisque was some of the best she's had. Additionally we had the cheesecake du jour and the "berry blast" for dessert - highly recommend - so delicious!

A wonderful lunch today with the owner Nancy treating us like family. I highly recommend this eating establishment if you like great food and even better customer service. Mike Marshall

Yelp
We were poking for a casual ace to eat on a Friday night. It was about 7:30. After rising Route 1, we elected to go to Rosemary and Sage. The parking lot was full and we waited for a car to leave. A signboard listed 3 specials that sounded wonderful. Customers departing said "it was excellent". My husband reviewed the menu and loved the growing white lights at window level. Fresh flowers dressed up the glass topped tables. We were quickly tucked into a corner table that had s commanding view of the dining area. It was not too dark nor too light for our middle aged eyes. The crowd was 40-90! Waitresses were signing Happy Birthday to a 9 year old while in the background we would hear lively conversations an laughing coming from the bar area. The tables are a comfortable distance from each other offering privacy. I loved my Cosmos. My drink offer was followed by the scallop bisque with peppers which was rich and very tasty. And served very warm! 10/10. My husband had the onion soup and was surprised that it was not beef broth based. It was still loaded with cheese--served nice and hot. We followed this with a Lobster and artichoke fondue!! This was a treat and the crock of fondue was very generous and ful of tender lobster morsels. Now we are stuffed. The entrees --most of them-come in small or large versions. The smaller minus the salad. The sides this evening were string beans and potatoes. I loved the mashed potatoes and the green beans were beautifully prepared and presented with my surf and turf filet with 2 stuffed shrimp. Had I not been stuffed, I would have loved to share a dessert. My husband - pickier than me raced about his selection the special Salmon Picatta. Our hostess made us feel welcome. Our waitress Barbara was very attentive. Our water glasses were constantly refilled. Everything arrived hot! The ambience was very nice. We were thanks for coming. We will return again.

Yelp
Had the worst stuffed shrimp of my life the other day. Left the shell on. Tasted like corn bread and didn't devein the shrimp. The aioli was off that day too for the dipping sauce. We got salads with our meals and didn't even finish them it tasted dirty like the greens weren't washed and spun. The other plate was the filet mignon and it wasn't good either. Tough, not medium, and underwhelmed. This place was so good in the winter. Did they change chefs?

Melissa H.

Yelp
Had an absolutely fabulous meal. Baked clams, beef vegetable soup, tuna and filet. Top notch service as well, plus got truffle wings to take home. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Nice enough local spot for dinner. Slightly old-fashioned feeling, though I didn't find the art or the server outfits to be as negative as others describe. We were seated right away, but it got busier as the night went on. Service was pretty attentive, with the servers rotating, so we didn't have to wait for one person. The menu is a bit more traditional, but that's okay, if you know what you're getting into. The BBQ rib special was not tender enough, but the linguine with clam sauce was good, and the salmon tasted fresh. So maybe just stick with seafood here. The martinis were good too. If you think of this as the type of place you would take your more traditional family members (and order yourself a good drink), you will be happy.

Yelp
Went to Rosemary & Sage on a recommendation from a co-worker. Traveled the 20 minutes to the restaurant and noticed the number of cars in the parking lot. That always a good sign on a Thursday night. It a small restaurant so my wife and I had to wait about 15-20 minutes to be seated. Next time I need to make a reservation. Service was excellent, my wife had the Fillet of Sole, and I had the Salmon special we passed on the appetizer to save room for dessert. We noticed it from other patrons tables as we were waiting to be seated. We ordered the homemade coconut cake that had a delicious, creamy frosting, and of course, my wife ate most of it. We also, ordered the Key Lime pie was delicious as well. Pricing was a little on the high side, but in this case, you paid for what you got. A restaurant to go back to when visiting Old Saybrook

Barbara P.

Yelp
Best place in Old Saybrook. Hidden Gem worth coming out for. Alone? Sit at bar and everyone will want to know your name. Nancy gives personal service and appreciates your patronage. She shows it. My new favorite place. Great great food.

Yelp
Just awsime!!!! A must go!!!! Gourmet !!! I'm only writing this part because the app needs a minimum amount of text

Yelp
Don't believe any of the negative reviews. This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I came for dinner and not only was the service excellent, so was the food. Our waitress Nancy was super friendly. The bread they bring to the table was a tasty garlic bread with a pink aioli sauce which was fantastic. I ordered the Salmon Piccata which came with mashed potatoes and zucchini. It also came with a house or Caesar salad and the Caesar was very yummy. The salmon was tender and flavorful and I finished the entire plate. My boyfriend got the ribs which I tried and were also delicious. We could not have been happier with the atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food. We will become regulars. Definitely worth a try!

Yelp
We stopped for dessert after the movies. Immediately I liked the ambiance. Candles on the tables, table cloths, low lighting, a limited view of the salt marsh inlet off the Sound, small but quaint. The bar area is small too but the vibe was relaxed. jazz playing over the speakers. A mixed (age) crowd with locals/regulars on a busy week nite. The owner was both waitress & bartender (is there a theme here in Old Saybrook?) She proudly stated that her Mom (in her 80s made all of the desserts served there from scratch. We did not have dinner. We had VERY fresh delicious coffee which is served in individual pots- I loved this as I didn't have to wait for a refill. I had the Coconut tort. It was OK but here is why: the short bread crust was too thick because the coconut filling wasn't enough to support all that crust. And a cream of coconut reduction was heated & poured over the tort which made it too sweet. The whipped cream was real but out of a can. All in all it was OK. However, I am willing to go back for dinner & to give dessert another try. Private small parking lot.

This is my favorite restaurant in Old Saybrook. They will prepare your food the way you like it. Want your fish barely cooked without sauce ?no prob. It will be cooked to perfection. Want your veggies steamed, no oil or butter ? No prob. They aim to please. The crusty bread with aioli to start is a winner. A nice wine menu and generous drinks are sure to please anyone. Desserts, most ( if not all ) are home made by Nancy. The Key Lime Pie is my favorite. The option of small portions is great. Lunch or dinner is always a treat.

Yelp
Freakin awesome. I hadn't been here in years and for Mother's Day we decided to run down the post road and just pulled in. Moms said it was the best meal she had in years and I agree. Swordfish awesome. Salmon phenomenal. Mashed potatoes better than mom makes em. Soups great seafood bisque and Rhode Island clam chowder. And don't say no to dessert. Nancy's homemade desserts are to die for we had the apple crisp...SICK!!!! And the coffee old school perk sooooo good!!!

Yelp
It was a great restaurant. Small, quiet and service was great. The food was the best I had in Old Saybrook in a LONG time. But the clientele this local eatery attracts falls into the older population. We are a family of 4 (with 2 little ones) and we stood out like a sore thumb. Everyone in the restaurant looked over 60 years of age. Not a negative, but keep that in mind if you have kids. There are no crayons and kids menu activities here.

Yelp
I've taken out twice while driving through. The soups are absolutely to die for. The atmosphere outside and in is cozy during these covid times.
