I want to love this place so much. I live in the neighborhood and it would be so nice if it felt more welcoming or had better offerings. Baked goods in the mornings taste stale and are overpriced, service isn’t friendly, there’s no stroller or wheelchair-friendly entrance, the whole place smells like caustic cleaning spray, and the checkout computer auto-defaults to providing a tip, so unless you're paying close attention you’re stuck with that extra add-on just for buying a croissant. I will give them kudos for extending their hours from what they used to be. Can’t tell you the number of times I used to walk by for a glass of wine only to find them closed.
** I came back and changed this to a 1 star review. I thought maybe I'd been too harsh, so I gave it another shot and the service was even worse than before- and I was the only customer there, so it wasn't due to busy-ness. To top it off, the computer no longer tells you your total, and the workers don't verbally provide it- they just tell you to swipe your card. So you have to proactively ask how much you're being charged. Please, please get new management at this place. If it were nice, I would spend a fortune here.
