This museum is so neat to walk into! Not to pricey to look around and get a full tour. Everything in the Victorian house is preserved so well you get a really good idea of what it was like to live as a posh Thatcher during the Victorian Era. Our guide did a great job sharing stories, answering questions and explaining different parts of the house. You cannot take pictures inside the building but the art alone throughout the house is like an art gallery. So many beautiful details to admire. The fireplace mantels, chairs, drapes and more are all very ornate and neat to see. The stained glass by the staircase is as big as a cathedrals very beautiful and detailed.

Fantastic Museum / Mansion. There is no self guided tour - you get a tour guide when you walk through this large home. The woodworking detail is in every room, painted ceilings, grand fireplaces, large painted (stained glass look) windows, many exhibits including a real mummy. May have to wait a few minutes for a tour time and there is limited parking - 2 hour parking time limit around museum on street. We took exactly 2 hours with tour and gift shop. Prices were extremely reasonable. Don’t pass by this place. No picture taking allowed inside building.

My first visit to The Rosemont Museum was at the Christmas open house Sunday. It did not disappoint. The main doors were open to visitors, which opened to the grand staircase where carolers performed. What a treat! Each room had wonderful decorations celebrating the season. And I know now that I will be back after the holidays to see the original decor, which I was told over 85% are original to the Thatcher family. Surprisingly, the 3rd floor housed many artifacts brought over from the Andrew McClelland Museum, including a mummy. I'm especially shocked to see that there as I would have thought the Egyptian government would insist on its return. Still, fascinating to see so close up. Each room showcased life for the family from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. Pretty interesting to see.

The Rosemont Museum is a beautiful hidden gem in Pueblo! The stained glass window is absolutely stunning huge and full of color, definitely a highlight. The staircases and woodwork throughout the home are amazing, and you can really feel the history in every detail. Our guide was great and very informative. My only complaint is that the tour felt a little rushed, and I wish we had more time to explore or peek into more of the rooms. Still, it was a lovely experience overall and I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area! I will definitely come back!

While the facility itself was fantastic and truly impressive, our experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the way we were treated upon arrival. Our group consisted of four moms and our kids—16 people total—all of whom had purchased tickets in advance through Groupon. We carefully reviewed the website ahead of time to plan our visit, and at no point did we see any requirement to make a reservation for groups over 10. When we arrived, the person who greeted us (Deb) seemed visibly frustrated and immediately chastised us for not making a group reservation, insisting that the website states this is required. I have since double-checked and still see no such mention. If group reservations are necessary, that should be clearly stated on the website and during the ticket purchase process. More disappointing than the misunderstanding, however, was the unwelcoming attitude we received. Deb made it feel as though our presence was an inconvenience and spoke as if scrambling to accommodate us was a burden. As paying visitors supporting a local historical site, we expected to be met with hospitality, not frustration. We sincerely hope this was an isolated incident, as the facility itself is well worth the visit—but a warmer welcome would have made all the difference.

OMG!! This place and the history is incredible. I lived every minute of our experience here. It has so much beauty and history. I would definitely recommend seeing this place. I would love to go back around Christmas time when they have it all decorated. We visited in July and they had all the beautiful wedding dresses out! I asked when her birthday was as if you’re like me and curious she’s a libra! Nice to know as a Gemini. I could see the similarities in the decor she loved. Amazing place! Check it out.

As being from the south with our plantations and big estate's this is so amazing....to have built this from such humble beginnings. This is real America. Sounds to me like this guy was the only one in the territory that could be trusted. He had land to texas 250 miles away It kind of sounds like job but without the trials......God is amazing... thanks😊 for the trip!!@@!!..... ps I hope to come back thanks

Yelp
We drove up from Albuquerque to see this museum. They had a car show and had closed it early. But they opened it again just for us and took us through on the first two stories of the home. It's so gorgeous. Staff had wonderful historical info to go with the tour and seemed very into the actuality of what they were talking about. Loved the staff, the tour, the gorgeous home, and furnishings. The gift shop was cute and had great prices. recommended. Stop by for sure if you can. I'm so happy we did!

Yelp
Great tour and stories. Only downside was we weren't allowed to take pictures inside. Incredible history within and many original furnishings from a long time ago.

Yelp
Amazing House! Each room had so much detail poured in it. Gorgeous furniture. Hard to believe it was built so long ago but is still very modern. Absolutely worth every dollar. The best museum in Pueblo.

Yelp
I don't believe you will find a better thought out and planned house from this era anywhere. We were simply amazed. The Biltmorehouse in NC is bigger but this house is a gem!! You must go if you are in Pueblo. The rest of the town is shady but this is a bright spot very bright!

Yelp
Looking for things to do while our Colorado vacation, we stumble into this wonderful museum. It's the most majestic and interesting house I've ever been to. We went during Christmas holidays, and the decorations were just beautiful! For only $6 you go from room to room where different staff members tell you about the house history. They are really attentive and nice. Just one tip: play close attention to the details in the fire places. I believe there are 10 in the entire house and all of them have different and unique designs.

Yelp
Absolutely the most complete, original and grand Victorian mansion I have had the pleasure to visit. All the furnishings, down to cups and saucers are original not only to the home but to the family who built it! This is a true gem of not only Pueblo, but colorado as well. Our tour guide was a teenage girl, she was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions patiently and tirelessly. I will most definitely come back again and again. I absolutely love this museum!!!

Yelp
This is a beautiful house and museum. A wonderful experience, and well-worth the money for the tour. I've taken two out of town guests to the house, and the tour was great each time. It is wonderful that a group of people is working so hard to preserve this beautiful piece of history. The gift shop desperately needs more items specific to Rosemount. They have a lot of Victorian era-type objects, but pretty much just the postcards and three shirt designs were actual souvenirs. Everything else was just Victorian-like items like tea cups and such. And sadly, they were out of the size my friend needed in the shirt she really wanted. The tour guide knew a lot, and was even dressed in a beautiful Victorian dress. She moved a little fast, but there was a lot to cover. This place is beautiful. Well-worth a visit!

Yelp
Went on a whim, with my boyfriend and our friend visiting from out of town. We've lived here for 2 years, and hadn't been yet. Great price for the extensive tour you get. We were thinking it would be about a half hour to an hour, tops. Our tour guide (Nick, who was great!) KNEW his stuff. Had a great personality etc. Our tour was almost an hour and a half! It didn't feel tedious and/or drawn out either. Very well done. If I could, I would give 4.5 stars, only because it does not say anywhere on their website that these are guided tours, so we were a bit surprised by that, and had to wait a bit. (Nick was worth the wait, but had we known, we would have shown up about 10 minutes earlier.) We got our tickets for half price (Groupon), but would happily pay full price again! Great house! The gift shop is lacking true "Rosemount Museum" pieces, has mostly Victorian era china etc. Great time, well worth the visit! We learned a lot! (Ask for Nick!!)

Yelp
I would like to start this off by saying that I have worked in several museums in guest relations, customer service, and docent positions. I love museums, and have visited them all over the world. I have never seen or heard of the kind of treatment we received when we attempted to visit this museum. I had heard about Rosemount from another docent at a museum I used to work at and had been wanting to visit. Since it was a two hour drive from where I live I waited over a year before finally planning the trip down on my birthday. I checked the website to make sure they would be open, and brought the flyer my friend had given me. All said the last tour left at 3:30pm, pretty standard. Since it was such a long drive down, I thought to call ahead to ensure that they were indeed open. The person who answered explained that they had a car show outside, which meant half price tours without guides, but that docents would be in each room to answer questions. It sounded great! So we made our way down and arrived a little before 2:30pm with plenty of time to see the museum. To our utter shock it was closed, but we could see people inside. We immediately called and were told that they closed early due to the special event (something that we were not informed of when we called ahead!). We explained that we had called ahead and made a long drive just to see the museum. The person on the other end just kept saying "There is nothing I can do. I don't know who you talked to." So we asked to talk to a supervisor, which she refused. We then asked what her position was, and she hung up on us!!!! Unbelievable! People visit from out of town, and come from far away to visit these historic places. If we do everything in our power to get the correct information and the staff make a mistake, the least they could do is apologize! I would caution strongly against visiting this museum, as there is no way to ensure that whatever information you get regarding their operations is correct, and the staff, or at least the person we talked to, are extremely rude!

Yelp
We had a great tour at Rosemount. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great place to visit if you are in the area and enjoy history.

Yelp
We were in Pueblo on a "buying trip" and wanted to check to see if there were any "mansion tours" since Pueblo has a huge assortment of historic homes in their downtown district. The Rosemount Museum (mansion) is incredible! Our fabulous docent, Sara, was so knowledgeable, not only about local history and architectural facets of not only the house, but each room, she also shared SO much about the family that built the house, their children, and their contributions to the area. The fact that it was in the same family until the son died in 1968 is incredible. But what is so special about this house is the amazing preservation of all the original furnishings, stained glass windows, paintings,Tiffany fixtures, woodwork, drapes, and even artwork that was made by the family. The admission is only $6 (it should be more honestly) VERY IMPRESSED.

Yelp
If you are visiting Pueblo or have lived here your entire life I would recommend visiting this place. The house is just as it is when the Thatcher family lived here and is kept in immaculate shape. The tour guides are very helpful and are able to answer any questions you may have. The staff is very friendly and the gift shop has many items pertaining to the house/victorian era and gifts or collectibles. At Christmas time the house is filled with Christmas decorations and self guided tours are held for a few weeks in December, allowing you to wander the house at your own leisure. I would highly recommend this place as an attraction not to miss in Pueblo!
