"Roses Bakery Cafe is a popular breakfast destination in Orcas, which has been around for nearly 30 years. It is currently open for takeout services from Tuesday through Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The general manager, Kai Gagnon, mentioned that reopening the dining room at half capacity does not make economic sense and there are concerns about safety due to the community being very vulnerable and having only one clinic." - Gabe Guarente

Roses is my favorite spot on Orcas Island, among very good company of other lovely restaurants. I rue the days they’re closed (Sundays and Mondays) and have been known to plan a trip around their hours. Fresh pastas are often specials on the lunch menu, with homemade, perfectly cooked noodles in plentiful portions. I always get the pasta, in addition to whatever else my friends and I share. Their thin crust pizzas are delightful — flavorful but never heavy, with interesting flavor combos incorporating seasonal ingredients. Always, there’s at least one vegetarian option if you’re into that sort of thing. At breakfast, the potato nest is a must: a giant hashbrown with crispy edges and a creamy center of soft potatoes. It’s served with poached eggs and Serrano ham. Their pies and other sweets are also worth making room for, or taking with you when you go. If you have a Sunday ferry, I recommend snapping up sandwiches to go from the gourmet shop attached when you’re there on Saturday. Enjoy!

This is probably the best pizza in the San Juan Islands! Super-thin crust topped with delicious creamy cheese is amazing! I also had their pea hummus and Gouda sandwich with ham, and it tasted amazing! The ham was a little stringy, almost like undercooked bacon, but otherwise was great! Definitely recommend this place for an upscale lunch/dinner!

The Cucumber side is delish a dose of spice with the crisp of cucumber add in a touch of tart with the Champagne vinegar. The English Pea Hummus Sandwich is mouth watering!!! The bread adds crunch to complement the smooth hummus. Went back two times in a row it was so good!!

We came here for lunch on the recommendation of a friend, and the food was very good. The bakery is attached to the restaurant portion, and it makes for a nice ambience. However, both my wife and I felt there was a marked vibe of pretentiousness. While the food was good, our server took our order, delivered our food, and we never saw her again. Another server delivered the check. In fairness, they are hiring for new servers, so perhaps they were just understaffed. The ingredients appear to be locally sourced, and they have some unique offerings. If you are into upscale dining, you may enjoy eating here. We just felt the place was a bit "stuffy" in an island location where laid back and amiable, even if upscale, appears to be more of the norm.

Great food and friendly staff. They surprised us with some kid friendly options for our four year old which was great. He inhaled the butter noodles with parmesan. The pizza was delicious and my wife's blt looked really good. I'd definitely come back again.

Love it, high quality food. I go here every time I'm on Orcas. Down side can be price- $9 for a small slice of Pumpkin pie feels unreasonable... also, I can't be positive, but I think I got food poisoning from the last time I ate there..,my group shared meals except for what I got from Roses and I'm the only one that got sick 🤢.
