"A beautiful park in Rome where rosebuds start to open in the spring. It's open to the public from April 21 to June 16, featuring a vast collection of roses from around the world." - The MICHELIN Guide

"A romantic public rose garden at the foot of the Aventine Hill, famed for a colourful collection of over a thousand rose varieties that burst into bloom in May; guided tours are usually available for visitors interested in its floral displays." - SilverKris
Beautiful place to walk around in. Not really suitable for relaxing for longer times, because it’s really close to the road and there’s a lot of city noises. But definitely very nice to visit if you’re on your way to the Colosseum or Circo Massimo

I visited in May, on the way back from Giardino degli Aranci, and I was surprised how much I liked it since it's a plain park with roses, but it's lovely to just walk around. Make sure to smell the scented roses, there's really quite a variety of scents.

It's one of my favorite spots in Rome.
A magnificent garden with various roses from all over the world! Open only during spring and a couple of weeks in October.
Plus it's usually not overly crowded so you can enjoy "smelling the roses" and the view of circo Massimo and palatino.

Very nice garden with different types of roses. We visited it in the middle of May, so the smell was amazing. There aren’t many banks available for sitting and there is only one toilet for women and men so a bit crowded.

It is that time of year again, when Rome's Rose Garden is open to the public. The Rose Garden stands next to the Circus Maximus, on the site of what was once a Jewish Cemetery.

Loved visiting the Roseto Comunale!
If you're visiting the Colosseum or Palatine, the distance to the rose garden is walkable. I highly recommend coming here on a nice, sunny day. There are plenty of benches and seating area so you can relax after a long day of walking and enjoy the scenery. It's really a lovely sight!
Also, entrance is free. :)
