"With a full view of the Santa Cruz Mountains, one Eater reader described this service as “a distinctly California interpretation of afternoon tea.” The scones are worth mentioning, as are the glasses of Champagne. Prices begin at $85 a person and, as it can be a bit of a drive for some in the Bay Area, booking in advance is highly recommended." - Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff

"In the middle of a business park, you find this lovely property that takes you to a serene and relaxing faraway feel. On a 21-acre site in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, it’s in the heart of the venture-capital corridor and one mile from Stanford University. Northern California–inspired interiors combine neutral hues with tones of walnut, cherry, and cedar. Overlooking the mountains or courtyard gardens, top-notch rooms with private balconies have artwork and marble bathrooms. Complete with an open wood-burning kitchen, Madera offers excellently prepared American cuisine indoors or out; the Pool Bar & Grill serves snacks and cocktails poolside. The Sense spa has fragrant gardens that mimic the surroundings; it gave one guest "the best massage I have ever received."

"What from the street appears to be a Silicon Valley office park gradually reveals itself as a rambling luxury resort. Navigate the pathways around understated cottages and Michelin-starred Madera to arrive at the majestic, expansive pool of Rosewood Sand Hill. Lined by more than 100 chaise lounges, the pool beckons hotel guests and day-pass customers alike. Acclaimed chef Seamus Mullen presides over the resort’s food program, and the pool menu is a thoughtful selection of light, warm-weather food, leveraging olive oil and spice to maximum effect. Most popular are grilled halibut tacos, lifted with mango salsa, coleslaw, and lime. Other essentials include avocado “dip”; coconut milk-doused ceviche with taro chips; and housemade cracker-like flatbread turned out of the property’s own wood-burning oven. The killer “spicy with tequila” cocktail features lime, agave, chartreuse, bitters, and serrano-infused tequila. Finish with fresh fruit paletas sourced from the Mission or a San Francisco classic, the IT’S-IT." - Laura Smith Borrman

Rosewood Sand Hill is in a league of its own when it comes to hospitality and service. I've stayed at various 5 star resorts around the world, but none have come close to the level of the service here. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted, my bags were taken immediately, and the front desk was ready to help. I was checked in and given the keys to my room in under 1 minute. When it comes to location and the rooms, the spacious cottage style of the hotel really blends in well with the surrounding greenery, allowing one to truly get immersed and disconnect for a while. Even though the rooms are huge in hotel standards and some (maybe all) include balconies to relax and get some air, heading out (even for a few minutes) to walk the hotel grounds is another relaxing and stellar experience. To add on top of all the stellar amenities of the hotel, the concierge/staff are reachable instantly via text messaging - something I have not seen anywhere else in the world; not to mention, they also send a schedule of programming for the next day over text every night, which I greatly appreciated. I would most definitely be back here when I'm in town again. Thank you and props to the team.

Absolutely incredible staff here that pays attention to detail and is super quick with requests. We had requested that room be baby-proofed and they checked with us prior to arrival to ensure they did everything we wanted. We were also upgraded to Junior suite and the check-in process was quick, painless and efficient. We opted for self-parking which was convenient. We made few requests to front desk about water, in-room dining and other things, all of which were promptly delivered to the room. Would visit again, the staff and amenities made our stay a pleasant experience.

I came here with a two friends. They asked to put my credit card on file. While we were having drinks, a group of people came and we knew one of them. I made sure the server knew that I am not paying for them. He confirmed. I cleared my tab and left the restaurant. The next day one of the guys from came and thanked me saying the server told them I covered their tab. I at no point authorized my card to be used for the other table and was very clear I am not paying their tab. I have been trying to get them to give me a refund and they’re giving me such a hard time. I now see another transaction for new purchase on June 5th and I never purchased anything that day. Please be aware and DO NOT give them your credit card for any hold.

Elite Vibes, Top-Tier Service — Rosewood Sand Hill Delivers Every Time As a Local Guide who frequents top-tier spots across the Peninsula, I can confidently say Rosewood Sand Hill is in a league of its own. Whether you’re a guest, a local, or just looking for an elevated night out, this place consistently exceeds expectations — especially on Thursday nights. Let’s start with Albert at the front — a true gem. From the moment you pull up, Albert sets the tone with genuine hospitality, attention to detail, and a calm presence that makes you feel both important and at ease. He’s not just doing his job — he’s creating experiences. You can tell he knows how to read the room, cater to guests of all kinds, and add that extra polish that makes a luxury property feel warm and welcoming. Major props to him — Rosewood is lucky to have someone like that at the front. Now, let’s talk Thursday nights — if you know, you know. The energy is just different. Locals mix with travelers, the crowd is effortlessly stylish, and the social scene is buzzing but never overwhelming. Grab a cocktail on the terrace, soak in the sunset over the Santa Cruz Mountains, and let the evening unfold. It’s the perfect blend of classy and casual — whether you’re catching up with friends, networking, or sparking something new. The setting is stunning — lush greenery, elegant design, and that signature Rosewood vibe that balances California cool with refined luxury. It’s a spot that makes you feel like you’re treating yourself, without trying too hard. Pro tip: Come early, let Albert take care of you, and stay late enough to feel the night evolve. Every detail — from valet to drinks to the curated crowd — is intentional. Bottom line: If you’re in Menlo Park, Palo Alto, or anywhere near Silicon Valley and you’re not hitting Rosewood Sand Hill on a Thursday night, you’re missing out.

This place is incredible! It has breathtaking views of the Bay Area, a peaceful atmosphere, and top-notch hospitality that gets 5-star reviews. They also have some really cool and interactive experiences here, like cocktail-making classes and tea time. I went to the cocktail-making class last week with Jason, one of the amazing bartenders here. It was an awesome experience - the class was well-planned, beautifully presented, and used the best ingredients. Jason was a great teacher and made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident in their cocktails. I was a bit nervous since it was my first class, but Jason helped me out a lot. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and Jason was fantastic. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something fun on a Saturday afternoon and to meet some great people.

We went to the Spritz Bar right outside the pool area. The drinks were great, the setting was beautiful, and all of the pool staff were so nice and attentive.

Google
A poor representation of a Rosewood; nobody welcomed us as we pulled up, nobody offered to help with bags to the room, no menus or service was offered when we sat at the bar lounge (other than Robin who eventually saw us when his shift began and was super sweet). The hospitality is seriously lacking but the grounds are pretty and the rooms are nice. Unfortunately, the highway noise clouds the enjoyment of being outside. If you want a $40 burger, $100 pedicure and a chance of falling prey to one of Silicon Valley’s infamous cougars (Thursday nights) this is the place for you.

Yelp
Dined here for the afternoon tea in a Sunday afternoon. Party of two with reservations, we were seated in the library which is the setting for the afternoon tea. It is a beautiful, quiet and private setting and perfect for afternoon tea! We started with the caviar serving followed by the regular afternoon tea menu. Opted for no alcohol. The staff is gracious, efficient and very attentive. The sandwiches were each served along with a pot of our apricot tea. The sandwiches were Cucumber, Citrus Labne, Mint served on Pain De Mie, along with Smoked Salmon. Cream Cheese. Dill. Pickled Red Onion served on Rye, with Dungeness Crab Salad, Avocado served on Wheat and last but the best Coronation Chicken, Golden Raisin, Cilantro served on a Walnut & Currant bread. All wonderful combinations. Next was Plain & Raspberry Lemon scones served with Clotted Cream.l, Strawberry & Balsamic Jam. We only tried the raspberry lemons scone which was crumbly and tasty. The clotted cream is not quite the same as the ones I try in London each time I visit there. The selection of pastries included, Beet & Raspberry Tart, Meyer Lemon Tart Meringue, Mocha Latte Macaron, Peach & Blackberry Pie and Chocolate Mousse Cake. All were amazing and we enjoyed the ones we were able to eat there and took the rest home in a beautiful to-go box. Loved the experience and will definitely return to try again. The touch of "Happy Birthday" on the serving plate was nicely done as well.

Yelp
I visited here for a 1.5 or so hour seminar (not for lodging). Feels very high class. STARS (stand out qualities) -Beautiful facility - exterior and interior -Catered food and drinks presented well and delicious -Staff taking away dishes were very quick and helpful -Parking was pretty easy to find STAIRS (areas for growth) -Staff at front entrance was professional but didn't feel warm and welcoming. The front staff directed me to the seminar location. And said I was probably the last person attending (wasn't sure if it was more straight to the point or condescending) TIPS -Scope out location via map since I think it's easy to go to another complex as many of the buildings look similar. -I think I could have been more careful looking at the signs directing to specific addresses/locations

Yelp
Venue: Rosewood Sand Hill Event Planning, Design and Coordination: Dina's Deluxe Events This is my favorite place ever! I love that this place has a tasteful interior design and beautiful grounds, hospitality and friendliness, positive energy and warm ambiance. I love to come here for a business lunch, for brunch or lunch with my lady friends or family. The menu is exquisite, gourmet and high end. They have an open kitchen and use wood for cooking. It smells devine! The service here is also amazing. I come here every year for Christmas High Tea in the library by the fireplace and I love it! There is also a gorgeous bar and the restaurant of course. I am also an Event Planner and a Coordinator and I planned and coordinated a wedding here together with Caitlin from Rosewood Sand Hill. Caitlin is very organized, professional and proactive. Her event planning and coordinating skills are very advanced and she can open her academy to teach local event planners how it should be done! It was a pleasure to work with Caitlin! The venue spaces are grand and beautiful. Kevin was very hospitable during the event and made vendors, guests and our clients feel so comfortable!

Yelp
A great day get away for the spa and the restaurant! The poolside service was fantastic, loaded with amenities and things never really given for day pooling in my experience. Will come back once the spa is fully renovated!

Zak R.

Yelp
Be very very careful about giving them your credit card for payments at their bar. The server used my card to run not only my transaction, but another one too.

Lee M.

Yelp
Robbery! It was 102 degrees out and we paid $1,000 to stay here for one day to enjoy the pool. They had no frozen drinks or smoothies, so we thought ok non alcoholic mojitos sound good for the kids. $17 each for a total of $98 on a couple drinks that are literally soda water with lime and mint! I had to speak to management and they reduced it to $9 per kids drink. The manager said the alcoholic version would've been $24 each, They should heavily disclose the prices. Not ok especially in a heat wave. Unethical!

Yelp
I found this place to be wonderful, from the service to the food. We did not have a bite that didn't taste like heaven. We did a holiday dinner pre fix style and family style. There was same delicious plates and not a sad face. I would come here again and again, maybe next time to try the menu a la cart.

Yelp
Stayed at the pool for day. Very nice experience and staff were attentive. Their food and drinks were also very good. We tried pina colada and Tai Pai, in addition to halibut tacos. Their bar/ cafe upstairs is really good and has nice views.

Yelp
So overall I give this place like a 3.5/5 but I'm giving 4 stars since I can't give it 3.5 lol. Pros: the staff was great, very nice and accommodating for the most part. It's a really clean and nice hotel, definitely luxury. It's also very quiet and simple, up in the mountains, which I loved. We got a massage with the spa and my gosh it was such a wonderful massage. Probably one of the best I've had before. The facilities and spa is nice too. We spent our anniversary here and they did a good job of us making us feel special and celebrated. The library bar is superb! The drinks were phenomenal! Cons: I think one of the biggest bones to pick for me is the food & the spa. So the food was decent but it's not nearly as diverse and yummy as one would expect. We found ourselves ordering out and leaving the hotel to eat. It's definitely healthy and all but it's not "oh my gosh" lol. I'd give it a 6/10 for that. Which was a bummer as I had hoped to be able to stay in and eat for majority of the weekend. Another was the spa: it was not coed. They have one lounge/sanctuary where you can hang out with your partner or family but it's a female and male side respectively for the sauna/jacuzzi. Massages are together if booked as couple massage of course. But that was a bummer to me bc we expected to sit together in the jacuzzi and spa you know? They do have a jacuzzi by the pool that you can obviously use together though. Overall it's a nice relaxing hotel and if you're looking to get away with your partner and family (with kids) it's a great place. But just be prepared to try restaurants in the area (which are yummy) and be weary of the spa setup! I do think for the amount of money we paid, it would've been slighter better. It also rained during our trip there so that didn't help. Overall a 7/10 luxury hotel!

Yelp
Lucid Air at The Rosewood. Too pricey for me but very nice hotel and spa. Great for a small corporate meeting or retreat.

Yelp
Too much walking '!should have more elevators Didn't like the risotto at all My feet got hurt after the spa Those Little rocks ! At the spa the facial was so bad

Yelp
My gals and I came here last weekend for high tea. The hotel itself is Gorgeous. I saw 2 weddings going on in their garden area. They also offer high tea in their library area of their hotel. Super cute/ modern looking library. They have standard high area sandwiches and desserts to share. You can get any choice of tea you like. It was a little pricey, but def a cute experience with the girls.

Yelp
Came here to meet someone and have a cocktail Cocktails and snacks were a little overpriced and so was the background noise Upscale place upscale prices lol

Yelp
Terrible customer service! I booked a room and they gave me a free upgrade (nice right?)... well I wanted to book an extra night there bc I had to stay longer (I was staying for work). They told me I could book another room online through Expedia. I did this - and then they said bc I booked the same room as before that I had to move rooms (at 8 am before work) , since my booking was for the lesser room. I didn't have time to move , so they told me that if I can pack my things up and leave them in the room, they will come and move rooms for me. What a nightmare! I quickly packed up, left my suitecase, and 2 bottles of wine for them to move for me. Fast forward to me coming back from work that night- going to the front desk to retrieve a key, and going to my "new" (downgraded) room. I get there, and my wine is missing. They took it?! Or threw it away?! I don't know ! But I also made a nail appt at the spa that I wasn't able to make (bc of work), and they charged me the full $200 for the appt?! (I'm a guest and a first time customer to the spa btw). Also I had dinner at their restaurant Madera one night, spent over $350... and this is how I'm treated?! Terrible customer service ! I'm still getting random charges from them!! Ridiculous! Never again! EVER!!! * I forgot to add the WiFi was out for almost 24 hours while I stayed here. My cell reception was terrible , so I was basically unable to access work emails or communicate with anyone during that time. This is the Silicon Valley people! There's no excuse for this!

Yelp
well- if you are high end VC, with unlimited money from other people's account to spend and are looking for very mediocre service and accommodations, but showing off that you stayed on Sand Hill Road, this is the place for you. From the hotel to the restaurant both are extremely over priced and under delivered. Please see my other reviews for the restaurant- which I get dragged to from time to time. We had issues with the rain and stayed here. Compared to some of the other hotels we have stayed locally when we needed help. It was VERY over priced and highly under delivered. I will just leave it at that - even if you won the lottery and have free money to burn, this does not give you the experience you want.

Nina N.

Yelp
This place is definitely what you call "California casual upscale chic". They refer to the rooms as cottages, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped with olive trees, giving you the illusion that you're somewhere far, far away. (But really, you're off highway 280, and sometimes you CAN hear and see construction cranes and traffic...never you mind! Back to your gorgeously, and painstakingly- yet-effortlessly, decorated cottage you go, to shut out the world.) Or perhaps you'd prefer to lounge by the pool, surrounded by Cyprus trees, where you're immediately served designer water in an ice bucket? You go right ahead and soak up all this place has to offer! At about 1k per night for a standard room, I suggest you make the very most of it. But seriously, I splurged and stayed here for two nights during the horrific summer of 2020, to escape the plague-demic and wildfires, and not lose my mind (and because it felt like the end of the world was nigh). It was just what the doctor ordered and I enjoyed my cottage, it's quirky, decor and the luxurious bathtub, and then lounging by the pool on a socially distanced chaise and walking amongst the gorgeous grounds to dinner. The front desk and concierge staff are unbearably snooty and unhelpful, and the cost is obscene, thus the rating of four rather than five stars. And finally, at the risk of sounding like a child-hating ogre, I also do think they could use a "kiddie pool" area, because the pool is terribly posh and lovely, and it really is kinda ruined by screaming kids in diapers in the pool - yuck!

K C.

Yelp
I loved my day by the pool. Even though were a lot of people (and kids yelling, diving in the pool etc.) , I was able to find moments of true relaxation. However... At the end of the day I was charged a 5% "living wage" on my poolside food/drink bill, with the expectation that I tip on that, as well as my $138 bill. I asked and was told it's to pay for the employees' health insurance. . It was instituted over Covid. As a cocktail is $20-28 dollars and a regular king room is $850-950/night (plus fees and tax), I don't understand why a customer ALSO has to pay for the employees' insurance. . Not cool.

Raj L.

Yelp
I can honestly say that the Rosewood resort here on Sandhill Road in Menlo Park is my favorite overall resort that I've ever been to. Not because they are the best in every category, but overall, in a very balanced way, they are the best I have ever gone to so far.

Debbie C.

Yelp
Just dropped $$$ at the spa and am a somewhat regular local at the Madera. After a wonderful morning at the spa, headed over to get a salad at the pool. Told I'm not welcome. What happened Rosewood? I got it when you limited access at the unknown beginnings of the pandemic but come on, you're not busy. Why wouldn't you want to allow spa guests to enjoy a salad and a glass of wine? Guess I'm moving on.

Garry W.

Yelp
I was there for Christmas drinks with friends. I have to say the wait staff were efficient and helpful. But the cocktails were truly mediocre, the appetizers just ok food while the prices were five star! I'm sure that my $25 mojito had never seen any fresh lime juice yet alone muddled mint leaves And I should have been warned off by the name of the $30 fish shop punch. Big mistake. Appetizers were small, expensive and just ok. Pub food at elevated prices. Way elevated!

Adele F.

Yelp
4.25 stars. I stayed here overnight last week for work. Since my firm was hosting an event here, we were able to get a room block for about $550/night. Even at that price, I thought it was a little steep. The good: - nice location in Menlo Park. Pretty close to Palo Alto and Stanford. - very welcoming staff (though they got my name wrong ‍) - decent food and drinks at the bar (albeit pretty pricey, too) - nice, spacious room with comfy bed and sheets (I am very particular about sheets) - spacious and well-stocked bathroom - welcome fruits upon arrival at my room - fun, sceney bar, especially since I was there on. Thursday night, which has a reputation in the valley The bad: - they got my name wrong, and they kept repeating it, too. I didn't have the heart to correct them. - the welcome card in my room had the name of a different guest (and they eventually corrected it as soon as they had an opportunity to) - rooms are very comfortable but probably need a little updating All in all, it's definitely one of the top two (if not the top) places to stay in the valley. It definitely has the best social scene if you are looking for somewhere to mingle.

A G.

Yelp
Our experience was great from start to finish. Most reviews that are negative I think have expectations that this is a resort style hotel, but this is more marketed as a business hotel that offers high end service. It's always busy (there are usually one or two events going daily) and Madera gets full as well (especially at dinner). The food at Madera is quite good (does it have the most unique offerings - no, but it consistently delivers quality dishes still) and they are accommodating with requests as well. We needed to leave early in the morning for some meetings and they were very helpful with having our breakfast ready early.

Roland R.

Yelp
I made an online reservation to meet friends for lunch. So I take my car and arrived at Madera restaurant at the Rosewood Hotel Menlo Park and the valet instructs me to park my car in a parking space right in front of the restaurant, which I was thankful for his help. A friend arrived and was also instructed to park his car next to me. After lunch. As we were leaving from the restaurant. Saying our goodbyes. We decided to take advantage of the opportunity that these two beautiful cars were parked together. So we decided take pictures. A minute into taking pictures another valet named John approached us very rudely without saying hello, no introduction and visibly upset said "Stop taking pictures immediately and shut your car doors!" Confused because we were still parked in the space provided and yes the doors were opened but since the doors swing up in the open position it was out of the way of any oncoming traffic. We informed him that we were the owners and it is ok to take pictures of our own cars. His response was "I'm only relaying the message from management."We then went to the front desk and talked to the manager of the Rosewood Hotel who said "We need approval from the sales department before taking pictures on hotel property." I see a bunch of photos here on Yelp and other sites from customers visiting the Rosewood Hotel, eating at Madera restaurant, photos of exotic cars in the parking lot, etc. Did they all get approval from the sales department before taking pictures? Do you need approval to take pictures of yourself, friends and of your car at a restaurant or hotel parking lot? Do you need permission to open/close your car doors?

Margaret C.

Yelp
The tea experience was exceptional. Great ambience and service. The tea sandwiches could be better... maybe cut it up into smaller bite size pieces? The pastries were excellent. We were not bothered sitting and chatting for almost 2 hours. Very appreciative of the server/waiter's care. was kind of confusing when we first arrive and there was no one to greet us and we don't know to go to bar area to get hostess to be seated. Could do better there. Gave it only 4 stars because if the initial confusion and the tea sandwiches. Otherwise, would have been excellent. Will definitely come back now I have the gang of where to go to be seated.

Yosabet M.

Yelp
I love it here! The service is amazing. I spent most of my time at the pool. From the food to the drinks I had a blast. I can not believe i found a gem so close to home.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
The resort was beautiful the staff was amazing and catered to our needs. Definitely a nice staycation for a wedding. Food from Madera was amazing!!! The Kumamoto oysters and wagyu tartar was the best! So glad we got to experience this location can't wait to check out the others!

Marci A.

Yelp
Purchased the ResortPass to use the pool here and I must say the service is exceptional. They give you a buzzer to press for ordering drinks, food, etc. The restaurant at the pool is called the Pool Garden Terrace, which is a collaboration with The Bontanist Gin. Drinks are amazing, especially the Spritz and the Bloody Mary. The only complaint on the drinks is the price, which seemed a little steep. The food is overall mediocre. We ordered the Yellowtail Ceviche Tostada and the Totchos. The yellowtail lacked flavor, but the chorizo-queso on the tots was tasty and by far the better of the two dishes. "Are you going to eat your tots? Can I have them." LOL! ***** stars for service **** stars for drinks *** stars for food You do the math!

Yelp
OK, this place is SUPER pricey and a bit doushy. I've stayed here as a guest, and I LOVED the experience: 5-star everything, including service. As soon as you arrive, you'll have the staff at your feet, valeting your car, taking your things to your room, little gifties waiting, turn-down service, the works. In-room amenities are beautiful, I'm all about treating myself and the over-the-top-comfort. But I'm really here to write about Happy Hour at Rosewood. I do really enjoy this place for happy hour. It's hella expensive, yes. In fact, the last happy hour I went to came to $200 for two people! So needless to say, happy hour "deals" don't really exist. And yes, the thing about prostitution here on certain nights does seem kinda true. Lots of skinny hooker-ish scantily-clad women come here. And so do the doushy guys, plus the weird, socially-awkward techies who are afraid of their own shadows, which means this is NOT make the right place for finding a man. But none of that bothers me when I'm sitting outside, under the tent, and staring down at the pool, enjoying a glass of bubbly. Not to mention, the food is excellent. The other boohoo is that the wait staff is a bit aloof -- Mainly the FEMALE wait staff. On more than one occasion, I've had one or more of them acting like downright b*itches. It's like they're upset to be servers whenever you ask for something. Well not my problem - I just want good service. Oh, and NOTE: When it gets hot, sometimes there are bugs flying around, and they do NOT carry citronella candles. I know, I made this place sound like a sh*thole, LOL. But even with all of the above said, I still dig this place on a warm Friday night.

Yelp
Everything here is sooo right. Total pros. Other extreme of the dog house four seasons Palo Alto where everything is wrong all day.

Yelp
High Tea So sad that the Rosewood doesnt know how to do a decent high tea. Dried out sandwices, dry scones, brittle macaroons, sickly babas. Leaking milk jugs, oh so slow service. All in all a total fail, a waste of money Skip and go anywhere else, better sandwiches at safeway!

Yelp
When I arrived for lunch the restaurant was empty. I was asked if I had a reservation. No, I did not. The hostess ask me if 11:45 would work, it was 11:30. Okay. I returned at 11:45, Restaurant still pretty much empty. She sat me. For an hour the place never filled more that say 50%. LOL REALLY!? The prices are very high. Had a Cobb Salad, very small $20. Good salad, bread is very good. It's a good place to meet people off of 280. Service was excellent, very attentive.

Yelp
It really pains me to write this review as I love Rosewood properties. 5 stars for the service and interior of the rooms but the rest left a lot to be desired. The location of this hotel is great but the room views left a bit to be desired. I splurged on an upgraded room and was upgraded (thankful for this despite my lower review) to a suite once I checked in. The room itself is gorgeous, no complaints there but my view was of the pool. I'm sorry but for as expensive as this stay was, I do not want to wake up in the morning and see a man in a speedo swimming. I don't find that a great view with my morning coffee. I would expect for people paying these prices for those upgraded rooms that the default be in a room that has a Mountain View at the very least. I called the front desk to see if that was available and was told no but that I could stay an extra night and they would get me into a view room the following night. I couldn't justify staying another night at this price point with such lackluster views on my first night. Overall, the property is beautiful and the service is impeccable. However, I feel like for the price the views aren't justified.

Yelp
This was a nice hotel and spa but grossly over priced for what we got. The worst part though was that they made charges for the restaurant (more than $500) without us even entering the restaurant. Their explanation was that they always charge in anticipation of use and adjust later. So what happens if the customer doesn't catch it on their bill? There was more. we used the spa and paid the attendants tips in cash. Without our knowledge the spa charged a 20% tip in addition Yes the credit card will accept our dispute and it will wash out in the end, but what about those who don't check luthier bill carefully? Isn't it fraudulent to make such chargers without saying anything to the customer There are plenty of nice places that don't try to cheat their customers. Try them instead

Yelp
I use to love love the bar at Rosewood hotel! That's pre-pandemic times. Yesterday, after 2 years went back and I wish I had not gone back to ruin my memory of this place! Drinks and food , quality /presentation / flavors were absolutely horrible! Service was slow and not enough servers! Prices were high but that is expected these days! 2 top shelf drinks and 3 appetizers for $160!! If people are willing to pay these prices then you have to get your act together and live up to your standards as they used to be!

Yelp
I attended an evening reception at this storied Silicon Valley locale known for its popularity with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs. Hor d oeuvres were creative and novel when they say spicy tuna they mean spicy. The service seemed impeccable and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the food areas despite a large crowd. The AV was a little scratchy, I'm not sure if that's due to the hotel or the outside contractors. The rest of the grounds seems well-kempt as well.

Yelp
I love the Rosewood! I came here with a couple co-workers on a Thursday night where I believe it was "Cougar Night" lol. I never knew this place existed; I mean I drove past this place but never got interested looking into it. This is a great place to mingle with friends over some cocktails, beers, or light bites. Many single people come here to chat with others and look for a potential bf/gf. I did notice that the majority of people here were wealthy and/or either in the tech industry or coming abroad. Drinks are expensive so make sure to stack up. I recommend no more than three drinks so your pockets don't burn out. The atmosphere is great! I love the rooftop view of the pool and hills. I also love their comfy large lounge seating with heated lamps. At night, everything here gets intimate and sets the mood for nice romantic convos and dates. I definitely recommend getting all dressed up. As a guy, make sure to look sharp and well groomed. Don't do too much either though! Do not wear a damn pocket square, a fat tie with a heavy looking blazer, etc. This is not a wedding, a funeral, or even a damn business meeting. This is a social gathering with classy drinks and classy setting. Just dress up to par but look comfortable and approachable. Oh and carry mints while you're at it! Nobody wants to smell that alcohol breath or morning funk LOL! I'm definitely coming back!

Yelp
Once again my visit to the Rosewood Sandhill was a wonderful one. The pool staff were on point as always and made sure all of our needs were met quickly and thoroughly. Valeska was especially helpful in ensuring her team tended to us (and all guests) throughout the afternoon. If only more staff in the industry could share her passion and professionalism! Thank you again and looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
We got the day pass for use of the pool area and had a wonderful time! My first time there and will definitely be back!! The area is very relaxing, and the food and drinks couldn't have been better. Everyone on the pool staff was highly attentive and very friendly, especially Valeska who came around to greet us and make sure we were being taken care of by her wonderful staff. Outstanding service and professionalism all around!

Yelp
This review is for the hotel bar!! My favorite place to go for drinks with the friends or on a date with my husband. Definitely on the pricier side, but the flavors of their food and drinks, coupled with the ambiance and service is worth it!! Ambiance: the bar is beautiful and open. With indoor seating and outdoor seating, the rolling hills, and the perfectly manicured grounds are a beautiful backdrop to a night or day out! Location: nestled in the hills of Menlo Park and right off the Sand Hill exit off 280, this location is a great place to visit. The bar is located in the hotel with ample parking available (handicap and electic car spots as well) and a valet service. Drinks: the craft cocktails and impressive wine list, makes this a very trendy spot to be and enjoy! Food: the food selection is great, seasonal, flavorful! Service: love how the servers really do a great job of making you feel like you are a priority. If it gets cold out (which isnt often) they will turn the outdoor heating lamps on and give you blankets!! If you are in town and looking for a nice upscale bar/patio scene, I definitely recommend this place!! They also have live music soms nights, so it can be a great place to lounge as well and take in the beautiful sounds and flavors!

Yelp
The recent power outage across the Bay Area had us looking for a place to hold up. Rosewood is just 5 min. from our home. We have stayed there many years ago and go there regularly for Spa/Salon treatments, Madera Restaurant etc but haven't stayed there in many years. We could not be more impressed with the service and professionalism. From check-in with Robert, to Leo and Carlos in the Bar/Lounge...who took amazing care of us all evening and Antoinette who gave me an amazing massage at the spa we were so impressed. Our room was very well appointed, well maintained/clean and excellent housekeeping and room service. Sure we were grateful to escape the power outage but this 2 night stay was up in the top 5 resorts we have ever stayed around the world. Yes, it was that good. Amazing to have a home away from home just around the corner!

Yelp
I came here on. Friday after a scenic drive to Portola Valley. Rosewood Sandhill Resort is one of the top luxury romantic property in Silicon Valley with amazing landscape & pool, and michelin star restaurant. I like to come here to relax and have a cocktail at the Sandhill Rosewood Bar. Staff are very friendly.

Yelp
As soon as you pull up to the Rosewood, you feel like you have entered an urban oasis. Located off of 280, you can see the cottages from the highway. They look very unassuming yet once you arrive, it is a whole other world. The flashy valet cars line the front entrance by the palm trees and the lobby is very open and modern. Each day I noticed new floral arrangements and my favorite was the floating orchid flowers. The check-in staff was always very polite and when we checked out, the lady at the counter came around the counter and personally handed us our luggage tag. Instead of reaching across, she added a personal touch to make a human connection. As you walk down the hallway from the lobby to the other main sitting room, you will pass shops with Swiss watches and beautiful jewelry. The open area nest to the bar has plenty of couches and seating and this area is usually humming with conversations and nicely dressed clientele. The bar is located to the left and is lined with the most beautiful pieces of Redwood. You can have a drink at the bar inside or sit on the gorgeous patio overlooking the Santa Cruz mountains. Continue on and you will be at the 1-star Michelin restaurant called Madera. The open kitchen is where all the culinary action happens and it is one of the best restaurants I have ever dined in. Sleeping Rooms: The rooms are located in what are called cottages and they are two-story buildings with a separate entry way for each set of rooms. The rooms on the upper floor are considered premiere because of the cathedral ceilings and feel much more spacious and open. I loved everything about my hotel room. The bathroom had a huge tub with cascading water, the walk-in shower was so spacious with perfect water pressure and the temperature marked in Celsius to let you know that 37 was hot. The bathroom drawer had a blow dryer and a bag that is TSA approved in case you need a clear bag for your travels. There are two bars of lovely yellow herbal soap and then there are even containers of bath salts to relax. The walk-in closet is huge with a safe, iron and plenty of hangers and a mirror. There is a mini bar under the tv and has everything you could ask for. There was also a beautiful chaise lounge in the room and then a patio with outdoor furniture overlooking the pool. The bed was comfortable and it was a very quiet stay. Grounds: There cypress trees remind me of Tuscany and the landscaping is perfectly maintained. Stanford: The property is owned by Stanford University and is extremely close Silicon Valley: You are in the hub here and it is not common to hear conversations about venture capitalism, start-ups and just come for a drink to be seen. This is a gorgeous hotel with high-quality customer service, fantastic food and a very calming atmosphere away from everything else.

Yelp
Vacation not too far from home. This resort is outstanding! The spa, pool, salon and gym cannot be beat!

Yelp
This review is for the bar/patio. There are certain breathtakingly beautiful days that inspire something special. A seat in a sunny spot overlooking the hills and bungalows at Rosewood. I'd enjoyed many sunset evenings with a glass of rose and a board of a sliders. It is ridiculously expensive. I don't think I'd ever spent less than $100 but sometimes it's worth it. This is where the beautiful of the bay area congregate and they add to the ambiance. I've met a few people -- nothing that has resulted in a lasting friendship -- but worth whiling away the time. I've enjoyed a delicious bottle of wine, the steak frites and an incredible cake. There are heaters on the patio and sometimes live music. Parking is free and plentiful.

Yelp
I went to Rosewood for a spa day and massage for a special occasion. It was the best massage that I've ever had. The spa was impeccably clean and peaceful. The staff were all wonderful. Afterwards, I went to Madera for lunch which was also quite nice -- good food, not too busy, great service
