I ordered my food to go.
The single star is for flavor of the food. The food tastes perfectly fine.
However food is only half of what matters, the other half is staff and execution.
The issues were with the burger.
To start, the burger was placed in a cardboard at the very bottom of 4 other larger boxes with heavier items, totally squishing the cardboard box in on itself.
Working exclusively in kitchens and restaurants, there is no way that was not intentional. It is common sense which order you need to pack food in, you never put the most fragile item/box at the bottom. That reads to me as a classic case of staff throwing a tantrum about getting an order within the last hour of being open. I understand, it is frustrating. I don't like getting orders near closing time either. But it is part of the job.
Aside from that, the kitchen either blatantly ignored the "medium well" order or they just don't know how what that means or how to do it.
I had to cook the burger myself when it arrived, it was barely seared on the outside and super pink in the middle. An infant orangutan could have done better.
The only benefit to it being undercooked is that it actually tasted good and was hot after I cooked it.
Again, the flavor of the food was fine. But it is embarrassing for whichever amature cook made the burger - it is literally the only item in the whole order that requires any care and attention to detail. The only item that requires any skill or any real cooking. Medium well is just about the easiest temp to hit for any protein, and to mess that up and UNDER cook it, is laughable.
The rest of the order was easy to throw together, but to have a crew so lazy they also treat raw meat as no big deal, as if people can't get sick or die from food - It is concerning....
As a kitchen manager, I am not impressed. It is not hard to make food taste good, especially when you heavily rely on salt and fats (mash & gravy, bacon, onion rings, fries, cheese, butter)
What makes a cook or FOH staff stand out is how they execute and order.
You can tell how much care goes into anything that comes from staff directly to you, and this one felt like a slap in the face cuz they were annoyed.
