"By midday Sunday, Rosie O’Grady’s in Ferndale was out of kombucha, White Claw, Stella Artois, and the Southern chicken. The Ferndale spot was hours from its final last call. On Saturday night, the Irish pub had announced that it was closing for good the following day. 'It’s been a good ride and unfortunately, tomorrow June 27, will be Rosie’s Last Call,' a message on the pub’s Facebook page read. The social media message said the closing was 'mostly due in part to ongoing staffing shortages.' Since January, Rosie’s space at 279 W. Nine Mile has been occupied by sister restaurant One Eyed-Betty’s, whose spot across the way at 75 W. Troy has been closed for renovations." - Monica Williams

This bar is noisy but not awful, but the food is well worth it. And the atmosphere is actually pretty great as long as you are expecting a bar not a quiet sit down place. But the food...OMG the food ! The mozzarella fries and burgers are top notch!

The waitress was horrible. She kept stating that it was her first day on the floor by herself, but when I'm hungry and with a group I really do not care. If she was that uninformed she should have somebody with her. I would have given her a break if she knew something. But she knew absolutely nothing. If we even ask what the meal consists of she could not tell us. We got the manager over there, she was very nice and helped us but I told her the same thing, if I'm hungry I don't really care about people personal problems, they need to be next to her. I used to be a waitress at a couple places and even Taco Bell made me take a test to learn the menu. She didn't even clean the dirty dishes off the table which I stacked neatly. The food is very pricey. The drinks are not expensive and they have a variety of choices, but after two tall drinks I did not feel a thing. The environment was great, it was salsa night. The food lacked flavor and I would not purchase a meal from there, but the finger food is okay. To be honest one eyed Betty is near and the food is great and so is the service.

Amazing vegan impossible burger melt and great drink menu. Drinks are priced a little better than the food is. Great if you're into sports bars or you come before it gets busy but not the kinda place I enjoy when it's packed. Today at 2pm after lunch rush was my best experience

Waitress was great. The food was meh.. it’s no longer Rosie, it’s One eye Bettys now. I’ll be back hoping for better food next time. Had the grilled cheese and the meatloaf.

Awesome St.Patrick's @ Rosie O'Grandy's. Although it was packed food was pretty good and fairly fast. Open tab with no problems what so ever. Standing outside in a line took a while. But was worth it.

Came here for One Eyed Betty's brunch. They must be in the same building because of Covid-19? 🤷‍♀️ Brunch was delicious. Had the number four omelet. They had great drink specials too. Had probably one too many grapefruit mimosas, but at $2 a refill, I had no self control. Service was great too!

Wow have they ever stepped their game up! The last time I ate here was July 2017. Since then, they have improved the quality and level of their food. The stadium nachos had flavorful guacamole and very generous amounts of cheese. It is also topped with jalapeno peppers, sour cream and what tasted like pico de Gallo with very Light onion (may have just been chopped and spiced tomatoes). The nachos were crispy and the queso sauce tasted really unique and delicious. All in all I was pleased. Their fries were crispy and well seasoned. Very tasty! I'll be returning to see if this was a fluke or if their quality is consistently improved.

Three-year later update: Rosie's is nailing right now. I don't think any other restaurant in Ferndale is offering a better, more interesting menu, and the service has been spot on with friendly and prompt wait staff. Let's go right at it - Great impossible burger, the excellent chicken tenders, awesome bourbon sriracha crispy chicken sandwich, my God the tuna nachos. Every single thing on the menu is amazing. Here's something unheard of - the french fries are just as good THE NEXT DAY. Witchcraft. We have yet to test the pizza with this latest menu but I have no doubt it'll be great. From 2018: Oh Rosie's, what a mixed bag. The food never disappoints, the drinks are reasonably priced, and they have a wonderful patio. If you like sports it's got a bazillion TVs on every wall and at the booths. The decor is well done and it's a comfortable place to hang out with friends. On the other hand service is usually somewhere between competent and slow, and on weekends it turns into a mess. Saturdays it goes full-on club with too-loud music and incredibly irritating bathroom attendants, Sundays are salsa dancing and if you're into that it's great but otherwise it's a screaming match to have a conversation. The last issue is that the indoor patio ALWAYS smells like terrible the stale beer stink after a college kegger.
