Stumbled upon this place unexpectedly, and very glad we did. The service and food was excellent. It's also veteran owned. The owner came up to us and made sure everything we had was satisfactory. Very nice man and war hero. The fried bologna sandwich and eggs & corned beef hash were amazing. I also had a Tibetan coffee, which was a first. That was interesting, but very good. We plan on returning next time we're in the area.

Rosie’s Home Cookin’ couldn’t have been any better, it was all that and a Big Apple Pancake! As soon as you walk up, you can instantly sense the pride in everything they do! From the signage to the warm and friendly good morning, you feel like you’re right where you need to be and amongst family. I met a couple of fellow veterans so right out of the gate, the company was off the charts! The biggest challenge I had was where to start with that menu of theirs! Literally everything looked tasty and the smells wafting from the kitchen were like something out of a Warner Bros cartoon and I was Bugs Bunny with no control! I opted to start with the Southwest Chihuahua Cheese Omelette and added the chorizo and copious amounts of their mouthwatering salsa for a topper! It came with 3 melt in your mouth pancakes and the best bottomless cup of coffee I’d had since I’d sailed the seven seas in Uncle Sam’s Navy! We added a Rosie’s Big Apple Pancake because it smelled like heaven and I’ve never been so happy with a fork and knife in my hand! I grabbed a dairy-free AND gluten-free order of flapjacks and a waffle to go and I don’t feel like I’ll need to eat for a week… I’m definitely going back to experience the Fried Bologna Sandwich with a side of Officer Mullins Applesauce and will be forced to get the Hot Meatloaf Sandwich to go so they don’t have to roll me out of the joint!! Don’t walk but run (at a full sprint) to this little slice of culinary heaven ASAP, I only wish I could find that 6-star button to accurately give them their props, just plain awesome!!

I'm a tad late in posting a review for Rosie's Home Cooking. Went for breakfast with my sisters beginning of February. I had the apple pancake and I can say it was the BEST I've had. My one sister had the lemon pancake and it was absolutely delish. My other sister had an omelet, it was light, fluffy and so very very good. Our servers were Emma and Juan, who were both courteous and friendly. I travelled about 40 minutes to get there and will happily go there again. Everything and everyone was exceptional.

This place is fantastic. It was our first time eating here. The owner (Lynn) met us at the door and welcomed us in. It is a military friendly restaurant. Lynn served in the Marine Corps. The restaurant is set in an old style diner atmosphere. They give you a large portion for your money. The food is fresh and taste great. The staff was great and friendly as well. This has to be one of the best places around to eat at. I would definitely recommend you stop by and eat here and we'll be back for sure. Definitely a 5 star restaurant.

Bit of nostalgia….delicious, clean, fresh, and comfortable. The omelettes are huge, pancakes are soft warm and fluffy. So many great options. Freshly made chicken sausage was fantastic. Has this 50s diner feel. Veteran owned and operated…another great reason to stop by. Servers are crisp and sharp. Tucked away, so look for the “Rosie’s” replica. Definitely worth your tummy time! Oh…they have fried bologna sandwiches!!!!

The atmosphere, the attention make this place really special. And the taste of the home made vinaigrette was the cherry on top! Thank you

This was our first visit, recommended from Fair Oaks Ford, while we waited for our car to be fixed. The food has great flavor. You can tell they really season the food well. The potatoes had great taste, but they we're only half cooked. I'm not sure if that is the way they we're supposed to be? The portion sizes of our meals seem very generous and as I looked at other people's they also looked generous. The biggest complaint I have is the prices seem very high!

Awesome breakfast!!! All of the egg dishes are served with three of their flapjacks. Today we tried the very fluffy chili and cheese omelette and the eggs your way with sausage. Both were delicious!!

This is a really nice place, led by a hands-on owner who meets and greats his customers. Good food, friendly service, not unbearably loud. Prices are reasonable, especially given tha it's in Naperville, which means the rent is probably steep.

What a letdown... Last time we were here, i gave a five star review, and was so excited to come back for our anniversary breakfast. I am saddened to have to downgrade this place, but what a disappointment this was. We ordered a waffle and a German pancake. (The German pancake was what I had last time, and really was the main reason we came back...it was that good!) My husband's waffle came out, but no German pancake. We asked where mine was, and waitress (Susan) said it would be a few minutes. We told her we wanted to eat together (not a surprise since you would expect to eat together when you dine out). Her response was "I know", and she walked away. My pancake came out 8 minutes later (yes, as a Yelper, I timed it!). Sorry, this is absolutely unacceptable. Take back the first waffle, and remake it (not put it under warming lights, or worse, do nothing at all.) German pancake was half the size as it was last time. I am posting both pix so you can see! Husband's waffle was ok, nothing special. We won't return.

Good solid food. Very good chicken and waffles. Very nice place. Good ole breakfast the way it should be. 6 stars. Susan is very nice.

The corned beef hash is one of the best I've ever had! Nice looking place that has a section honoring veterans.

Rosie's is such a cute diner! I really loved the diner aesthetic on the inside of the restaurant! It felt homey and traditional but with a modern twist on it still. The food was so tasty! I got the Rosie's Benedict and my friend got the Western Skillet! Both had good portion sizes and we still managed to finish our plates! The Tibetan coffee was so good and actually kept me energized all day (usually I need many cups of coffee to achieve the same). Prices were super reasonable. Service was friendly and attentive! We both really enjoyed our experience here! I'll certainly come back again!

Quaint, cheerful restaurant with a cool diner vibe. The menu is vast and offers something for everyone. So many options. We opted for good old-fashioned comfort food --an apple pancake and corned beef hash. Both dishes were delicious. We could tell immediately that the corned beef hash was homemade. So good. The person who took our order was warm, welcoming and pleasant. Great experience overall and looking forward to returning soon.

I had the Ham and Cheddar omelette. It was very fluffy. The best omelette I've ever had. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to customize the ingredients.

The staff were friendly and nice. The manager on duty came to our table to check in on us, while a group of seniors sang "God Bless America" before our food came. No problems with the staff, they were great. The decor was fun to look at. The food was hit or miss. Don't get the Egg's Benedict. It's drenched in sauce and I couldn't really taste anything besides that. The ham wasn't cooked all the way through and made the entire meal cold, like ice. Also, one of the eggs wasn't even poached, completely hard boiled. I tried to stomach it, but I could even eat the potatoes.

We got food a few months ago using a Big Radio Shopping Show Certificate I'm disabled the manager let me use my certificate for Carry Out Thank You! Nearly every restaurant I've GF pancakes ordered except Egg Harbor Cafe gets GF flour from Sweet Ali's Hinsdale from uses different types of flour I got Gluten Free Flapjacks I didn't care for organic popped Amaranth Flour personal preference.. my husband got a Burger said it was well done & delicious so were fries

This is such a great and cozy diner near my neighborhood. Staff there are so welcoming and provide great customer service. We waited for a table, the ambiance was amazingly cute old style diner. I got the Cheddar Omelette which came with two buttersoft pancakes, my mom got the breakfast Sante Fe Skillet and my brother ordered the apple pancakes with some breakfast links on the side. Would definitely come back again!

First visit. First impression from the outside was "iffy". But once we walked in, I thought... "Cute and charming". Definitely a diner feel with lots of counter seating on bright red stools. There were also booths all around. The wall hangings were Norman Rockwell canvases. Our server was named Therese and she was professional, friendly and attentive - 5 stars. I ordered the huevos rancheros and hubby ordered a skillet. The skillet came out with cold potatoes and the wrong kind of eggs. Therese remedied that promptly and with a smile. The food overall was flavorful and delicious... No complaints. Other: 1 stall bathroom. Clean. The only negative - and the reason for the 4 stars vs. 5 - is the bad attitude of the kitchen staff when the food was brought back. Please note that your patrons can hear what you say.

Great atmosphere, good food. Filled with locals. Very clean and plenty of booth/ bar seating. Service was PHENOMENAL!

Not our first rodeo here, but due to update my review. I love this place. The owner greets you, makes you feel at home, and takes time to talk to customers and make sure they are happy. Food comes quickly, but they don't rush you along. Please support Veteran owned businesses every day. Thank you for your service! The walls are adorned with patriotic Americana, and the music is reminiscent of the oldies jukebox at a 50's diner or drive-in. That's how they envision themselves, and they hit the mark. Feels like home. I haven't mentioned the foods yet. It's great down home simple breakfast food, but done soooo right. The corned beef is so fresh and flavorful that I have to have it with a couple eggs on top. But the blueberry flapjacks are even better. Heaven! That's a serious dilemma. Problem solved: Egg dishes are served with 3 flapjacks. For a small charge they will upgrade those from buttermilk to blueberry. And the combo of complimentary sweet and savory is perfect! And one last note. The only small glitch in my last review was that on that past visit, they were so busy they struggled to keep coffee cups filled. But again, problem solved. Now they give you a pot of hot coffee at your table. Thanks for improving on an already top notch brunch experience.

This place is amazing and prices were reasonable. The restaurant is decorated really cool with Norman Rockwell art-we loved the style. It was the first time my daughter and I had been there. The food was amazing from the apple pancakes to the biscuits and gravy to the fluffy omelets and hot chocolate with homemade whipped cream! The staff is very welcoming. They came over and welcomed us -including the chef! Susan was our waitress. She was so nice, sweet and funny! Someone you definitely want to be the head waitress. She told us about the restaurant and its support for the military. She knows the menu like the back of her hand. I highly recommend this place! We will be back and I give it 5 stars!

I've gone here three times now. I love the memorabilia and history they display. My favorite dish is the strawberry waffles (no syrup) with whipped cream. They offer strawberry syrup and regular syrup but i opt out. I dislike all syrup in general. The staff doesn't check if you need more water...so be prepared to ask for some. Lucky for my friend I gave her mine which I didn't touch.

Outstanding Food & Staff! For our second visit to Rosie's, I ordered the Chicken & Waffles. We routinely have great waffles at home, BUT - Whatever the batter and waffle iron used; this giant waffle has got to be the best waffle in the world. The chicken presented with "The Waffle" was perfect as well. It had just the right amount of coating. All-In-All, a perfect combination with the warm syrup. It will be a tough call my next trip to decide between the Corned Beef Hash and Eggs OR Chicken and Waffles. I highly recommend Rosie's.

The kids needed a break. I needed a waffle. Enter Rosie's Home Cookin'. The ambiance of this place is so cute - a 50s style cafe with Norman Rockwell art throughout. The place is very clean and the wait staff friendly and engaging - we actually had two people serving us! We ordered our food - strawberry waffle, Apple pancake and bacon. All very nicely presented and tasty. Then, we got a surprise - an extra Apple pancake for us to take home! All in all, the trip to Rosie's was well worth it! We all left happy and satisfied.

After seeing all the great reviews, we decided to stop for lunch at this restaurant... I ordered a cheddar cheese omelette with chili on top and a side of blueberry pancakes. Both items were brought to the table hot and tasted very good. My first friend ordered fried eggs over corned beef hash and he really liked it. My other friend ordered the Denver omelette with a side of pancakes and he says it was very tasty. Service was very prompt and friendly. The only issue with this place is it's menu prices... Three of us had breakfast for lunch and the bill came out to over $70. Included in the total price was a bowel of chicken noodle soup soup that I had ordered to go. When the waitress brought my soup out, I was shocked to see a small container half filled with soup that they charged me $7.00 for. I called the waitress back and inquired whether they had brought me a cup of soup instead of the bowl that I had paid for and she informed me that it was a bowel and that's as much soup as you get for $7.00! I was quite disappointed in the menu pricing there and will not return. All 3 of us are senior citizens and can't afford to do that again!

Very nice place. My mother and I both went for the first time and as soon as we walked in I think his name was Lee greeted us with a smile and handshake. We told him it was our first time and he shared the story of Rosie's. Everyone was very nice and the service was good. My mom got the corn beef hash. It wasn't what she expected. But she always gets home made corn beef hash from Harners so it was just different. For her side she chose the grits and that was delicious. I got the vegetarian skillet. I really liked it. I got some good size mushrooms and it also had onion, tomato, broccoli, and cheese. I like my egg on top to be over medium and they were cooked perfectly. I got the flapjacks as my side and they were good. But I would definitely get grits instead of flapjacks next time. I say it's definitely with going. P.S I seen them bring out a waffle with fresh strawberries and a dusting of powder sugar that looked scrumdiddlyumptious! That's what I'm getting next time!

A warm greeting by the veteran owner awaits you as you enter. It felt like you were coming home to a long lost relative, and they were intent on sitting you down in their kitchen and fixin' up something sure to satisfy even the very discriminating tastes. The servers treated you like cousins, and the food was reminiscent of grandma's home cooking. Comfort, family, and deliciousness would be their rallying cry from what I observed. And I miss them already.

We had high expectations, but left quite disappointed. It's a cute place, decor was patriotic as the owner is a USMC veteran. The service just ruined our experience. We were seated and ignored for the first 10-15 minutes. Someone, perhaps the manager, had to tell a server to wait on us. Our server clearly didn't want to be there, was having a bad day, or was just a miserable person. Our wait for our food was also long. Food was good, but not worth the terrible service. No refills offered, we had to ask for our check. It did appear that counter service was much better, I wouldn't recommend table seating! Such a bummer, we will not return.

There is no home cookin' here! The waitress was nice but loud. Husband eggs runny although he requested well done. The ham that was ordered was not ham off the bone. The potatoes were mushy and bland. Bacon and pancakes were cold. Pepsi watered down! Speaking of water it tasted awful. My eggs had to be sent back because not as ordered. Noel was very gracious but nothing could help this breakfast, which was pricey. This was breakfast 101, very basic. My dad is an Army veteran and I couldn't recommend this establishment to him. Thank you for your service, but no thanks to Rosie's!!

Truly a wonderful breakfast experience. 11 out of 10! When you walk in, it feels like you went back in time. Classic diner. It's founded and run by veterans. My dad was a veteran, and I give special respect for those who served our country. The place gives off a comfortable vibe. The server we had was Sue, and she was wonderful and so helpful! I had the biscuits and gravy with eggs - loved it! So fresh and full of flavor. My wife had a veggie skillet with blue berry pancakes on the side. It was so good -- Another flavor filled dish. Sue also brought us a side their homemade whip cream with strawberries-- to die for! Then she also brought us a Rosie's Big Apple Pancake - it was absolutely delicious - I highly recommend it! Just a wonderful experience!

This is a home run place to eat. Everyone is super friendly, happy and love their job! The food is to live for! Organic ingredients. Waffles that are so light they can float. Tibetan coffee! The diner experience from the 50s is the perfect atmosphere right down to the. We consider it a big treat to come here. If you're feeling down, come to Rosie's for a big lift! Ask for Sue for extra good cheer!

Heard this place just opened and had to give them a try. Especially for breakfast!!!! Place has plenty of parking. Restaurant is well decorated. Kinda takes you back in time. They have seating for single and midsize to larger groups. When we arrived the waiting area was filled but after a few minutes we were seated. The owner was very nice and mentioned they where a-little short staffed and thanked us for being patient. Our order was taken right away but did take longer than usual to receive. However we knew they were short staffed so we just enjoyed our coffee while we waited to be served. They only have regular coffee but if you like something stronger try the Tibetan Coffee. I tried it and is was delicious. We also tried the Corn Beef Hash with Eggs (Sunny Side Up) and the Chorizo Biscuits and Gravy. Both were very good. Definitely recommend this place if your looking for a simple home cooked breakfast. These places are getting hard to find. Especially owner operated and Veteran owned.

On our way to Aurora Premium outlet mall, we decided to stop by Rosie's for brunch before getting our shopping skills on. As mentioned by others, they serve diner food in a diner like atmosphere, you feel a little bit transported back to the 50s. It was really busy when we got here, every seat was taken but finally got two seats at the counter. We got a friendly greeting from the owner (Oorah!!), former Marine, that was cool. I always wanted to be a Ranger myself. The apple pancake takes about 30 minutes and waiting is only an inconvenience when the waiting isn't worth it. Which it was not, the apple pancake was the star of the meal, not as heavy as Gail's Carriage's version (Des Plaines), this was lighter but still very satisfying. FYI, we got a reservation but we couldn't preorder our Apple pancake to speed things up. Duly note this - Gail's allows preorders because theirs takes about 40 minutos. The chili was very hearty and that would be great during any winter day. I thought the meatloaf sandwich was a bit dry. Plenty of pahking in this mall. I also love that I got to support a Veteran owned restaurant. From the Halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli...sing it with me!!

Quite possibly the best chicken and waffles I've ever had! Was not expecting that from this charming little restaurant. Was also pleasantly surprised by the coffee. Most diner coffee is typically the same every where you go (watered down with no flavor). The coffee at Rosie's is smooth, rich and bursting with flavor, I couldn't get enough! Love supporting this veteran owned restaurant. You won't regret trying this place.

Food is delicious. Apple pancake is especially delicious. Haven't had lunch there--just breakfast. Excellent. Owner is usually there and is always very hospitable. Definitely a go to place for my husband and I.

The breakfast food is the best! I've had both Rosie's eggs and the Denver omelette several times. Rosie's Eggs is one of my favorites because I love sausage gravy, and this dish is smothered with it. The sausage gravy is full of chunks of delicious sausage. Served with a side of southern style hashbrowns, great seasonings, and onions The Denver omelette is also a winner. there's plenty of cheese peppers and onions and it's huge I always order the pancakes which are included and they're very tasty too There's a big bonus if the owner is there. Lynn is probably one of the most welcoming friendly people I've ever met. I've only been here five times but I'll surely be returning soon

As you enter into this 1950's type diner, you are surrounded by counter seats and booths of the past. Rosie the Riveter abounds as do Norman Rockwell paintings. This veteran owned diner's food was delicious! The menu featured your regular breakfast fare, but the highlight for me were the German pancakes! I ordered Rosie's puffed German Garden which had veggies worked into the baked pancake with gouda cheese. My friend had the Denver omelet. Their omelets are baked and fluffy with no shortage of cheese! Our server was friendly and gave us the background of the diner,as it was our first visit. During our meal, the chef came out to check on us. Their coffee was some of the best I have had. We were almost done with our meal, and the chef brought out a puffed German pancake for us to try!! What a surprise! Needless to say....Delish! It was like breakfast dessert for us! I cannot wait to return! Highly recommend !!

Happy pleasant employees, clean and welcoming facility and the bathrooms continued the great experience. On Ogden just before the Raymond Road stoplight. Good America food. Highly recommended you go by for breakfast or lunch or both.

My experience at Rosie's was nothing short of amazing! For starters, the diner has a 60's vibe with Norman Rockwell paintings all over the walls and old fashioned booths and counters. The service was phenomenal, with both the owner Lynn and also the other staff going out of their way to get to know us and make our experience great. For the food, the Apple Pancake tasted like a homemade German pancake with hot cinnamon apples on top, it was fresh and delicious. We also tried the Southwest Chihuahua Cheese omelette which was fluffy and flavorful. Overall, a fantastic experience and I'm excited to come back and try more off the menu!

So Lynn, the owner reached out after my last visit here a few weeks ago. In summary, they were super busy coupled with some computer problems so my experience wasn't ideal. Lynn and his staff went out of their way this time to make us feel welcomed. My daughter and I split an omelette and apple pancake. The omelette was the fluffiest omelette I've ever had and the apple pancake was scrumptious. Both generous portions to share. I enjoy looking at all the Norman Rockwell paintings that decorate the walls throughout the restaurant and I appreciate, as a veteran myself, all that Lynn does for veterans. I'll definitely be back.

Welcoming atmosphere. Kind and knowledgeable staff. The FOOD, the FLAVORS absolutely special!! I travel the USA for my job and the plethora of Yelp reviews share my experiences. This establishment is in my top 3 ever. The menu is classic with innovation and plenty of options. Note; the entire strip mall is being completely renovated. If you are not from the area, parking lot Looks empty.

Super clean and everyone is so nice. Prices are extremely reasonable. This place was absolutely unbelievable! The food was on point. The southwestern omelette was so full of goodness. I had to get a order of sausage gravy to pour over the top and guacamole to add to it to top it off. The pancakes were light and fluffy. I had a Arnold Palmer with a splash of strawberry that was perfect. I could not eat all the food but had a hard time leaving it unfinished. The servers and gentleman in the Purple Heart shirt was so welcoming and pleasant to speak with.

When we travel a place has to been really good for us to eat the more than once! Hooah! On Rosie's!!! Don't judge from outside, go in and taste for yourself! We felt so welcomed and enjoy telling some war stories with one of the owners! Thanks for remembering the missing man, I salute you! Now to the good stuff, the food! What ever you get will be delicious! I had the German Puff cake "Dutch baby" to some; eggs over medium and bacon, and a Denver omelette today. My wife had the strawberry waffles two days in a row and cheesy grits. Being from the south, them was darn good! If you are looking for the best breakfast place in Naperville, this is it. I would have to say it is the best we have in the whole Chicago area! I highly recommend Rosie's and we will eat here on our next trip for sure! Tibetan coffee

We saw the great reviews and had to try Rosie's! The design of the restaurant is very cozy and welcoming. Loved the diner vibe. The owner greeted us as we came in and introduced himself. He was very nice and genuine. I ordered a skillet and the blueberry pancakes. The skillet was delicious but the blueberry pancakes weren't for me. The staff was nice but seemed preoccupied with each other chatting at the back tables which affected the service a bit. We will definitely come back as our breakfasts were delicious.

Fantastic diner! Feels like you stepped back into the 1950's! Breakfast was delicious. Denver omelette was exceptional. Egg salad was fresh and very good. Veteran owned and you can feel the American pride. Will be back. 5 stars.

It's an absolutely amazing diner! The most friendliness service. Waitress Sue is the best. Love the story behind the owner. The Apple Pancake and homemade whip cream is one of the best things I have EVER eaten.

Service is prompt and friendly, the decor is a classic 50's diner and pretty homey, I ordered huevos rancheros for 14$ and the salsa, beans, and tortillas were very mediocre, but also the amount you get is not worth the amount I paid for it.

Definitely worth a stop. I happened upon this place by accident--luck actually. Unassumingly tucked away in an in-line shopping center, the big, strappin', Purple-Heart-earnin' Vietnam Vet young man owner (gotta be Rosie's son) makes a point of good ole' fashioned grippin' n' grinnin' truly making you feel welcome and at home with the aim of "being' just a little bit better than the mess hall" which they nail by a country mile. The place is clean and bright--the KP troops are clearly held to a white glove standard. They are all polite, attentive, fastidious. Norman Rockwell prints depict Americana images of an innocent time long past but not forgotten. 1950s and 60s hits complete the throw-back vibe. I was further welcomed with my own pot of hot joe to start and a "take your time, no rush." Now the food. Very good and very ample! The Denver Omelette was definitely big enough for two--nicely prepared and actually flavorful. I could actually see and taste the ham! Overall, a very enjoyable place to be because of the overall experience. The only thing I have to mention on the down side is the pricing (which, sadly, has become a common theme these days and no doubt at least partially due to external business climate factors). There is nothing on the menu for less than fifteen bucks which likely would've made Rosie the Riveter share a few gems making even a marine blush. No "The Reveille", two-two-two deal for six bucks from 6-9 am. No "The All American" soup and half sandwich deal for seven bucks from 10-noon. No "The General" open face burger with brown gravy, fries, and good ole' Mac-n-cheese for eight bucks from 1-3 pm. A single person can't get out of there for anything less than a sawbuck. This is a missed opportunity and won't make Rosie's my every day or several times a week but more of a "if I'm in the neighborhood" but feel free, Business, to steal any of the preceding business and loyalty generating, give-something-back-to-the- customer ideas. Nevertheless, there is something about this place that sets it apart from "wanna look like" places--there is a palpable culture about this place, a certain old school but noble vibe rooted in respect for the customer, politeness, honest work--service--which is so rare at least around these parts. For those reasons, though Rosie's may not be my every morning stop, it has my respect, and my business, which is the best kind of recommendation there is. Dihhhhsmihhhssed!

Definitely try this cozy, friendly, delicious place for breakfast/ lunch. Attentive service, great food, nice variety especially on the breakfast portion of the menu.
