It was 200 feet from the hotel we stayed at. I checked out Google to see the reviews and knew we had to try it. I got buffalo chicken salad and Rosie's Mac and cheese. My wife got a turkey club and everything was very good. Good food and I would go again. My salad was huge and very filling.

Stopped in for a quick bite. This place was absolutely what I was looking for, such a great spot to eat and have a drink outside. The wait staff was absolutely friendly and attentive. Thank you for the great experience.

Dan Richardson

Google
Good local New England dive. The service could use some work being more proactive but the bartender was nice.

Google
First I want to start with the staff. She is so friendly and welcoming. A very good staff. The foods are also good too. We had chicken wings, chips, craft beers and chicken tenders. Super delicious. Will come back again. They also have vegetarian options too.

Google
Late night menu for after bar hopping. We tried their pizza and it was great! Lovely staff and good vibes

Billy

Google
Old school bar atmosphere w great service both from bartenders to waitress. Salad and burrito was prepared as if they cared! Uncommonly fresh and delicious for a bar. Portland parking should not keep you away from this little gem.

Google
Karoke Thursday nights 🆓 the food is cute, the prices a bit over average. I love the Rosie’s lemonade. Room for the gays and older white folks. Everyone belongs!

Google
What a great find ! Fabulous menu and good prices. We were in Portland for 5 nights and ate here 3 nights its was so good. All the staff were friendly and the service was fast. It's not a fancy restaurant, just a nice place to eat good food and enjoy a beer.

Yelp
Stopped in randomly after a red eye & while waiting for our hotel room to be ready. Lured in by the chill vibe of the outside seating area on a gorgeous day, & it was as chill inside! honestly, like an elevated dive with excellent food, clean bathrooms, and a fun, hardworking, and efficient staff--really glad we popped in!

Yelp
I don't know what these reviews are all about but it sounds like you wanted to be served by a butler in a boojie glass not a bar with food. Also the lobster Mac was the cheapest price in this overpriced Lobsta town and the drinks were poured well. Yes the bartenders are straight to the point but pros don't need their hand held. So step on down by the water pay double for drinks and food and have your service with half more smile. Not from here and will be back next trip. Don't pass. Good find.

Yelp
Double check your receipt!!! The owner is greedy and money hungry. DO NOT waste your time here. 1. I wish I took a picture of my receipt to show how I was charged an extra dollar for my mixed drink which was fixed after I brought it up to the manager. 2. There are previous Yelp pictures of calamari plates that were at least filled with on both sides of the plate. Now only half of an already small dish is plated with calamari and it's a measly MAYBE 15 pieces at best with half the plate being lettuce. When I brought up that this was not $20 worth of food the manager only comped 25%. "That was the best they could do". There are many other kinder restaurants that'll cook better tasting full plates for $16. A waste of money.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick drink and to watch some sports and the vibe was perfect! Laid-back, friendly staff, a few big screen tvs, and cheap drinks and good food. Rosie's was perfect for a casual stop.

Alex C.

Yelp
Family was visiting and wanted to go to old port. Stopped in for a quick beverage and food. Overpriced entrees, small portions, and not tasty. Rude and inadequate bartender. Dropped off everyone's drink but my girlfriend's (vodka lemonade), which ended up taking 20 minutes to come out--it was not busy. Bartenders were talking and on cell phones instead of making drinks. Had to go up to the bar for refills and the check because server/bartender NEVER checked in. Terrible experience. My girlfriend is a bartender/server herself so she knows what to expect. 0/10 would not recommend.

Robby L.

Yelp
1 star I genuinely don't understand the hype around this place. The service was slow, and when the food finally arrived (after what felt like an entire presidential term), it was lukewarm at best. My "medium-rare" steak was cooked into oblivion, and the server just shrugged when I pointed it out. Definitely not worth the price, or the attitude. There are gas stations that are better. Never again

Sarah M.

Yelp
If I could give this place zero stars, I would -- and even that would feel generous. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had somehow personally offended the staff just by existing. The hostess greeted me with an eye-roll so aggressive I thought she might pull a muscle. I was seated in a corner that looked like it hadn't seen a cleaning rag in months. The table was sticky, the silverware was questionably stained, and the menu had the charm of a worn-out takeout flyer from 2003. Still, I stayed -- curious to see if anything could redeem the experience. Spoiler: nothing did. The waiter approached like I was interrupting his day by daring to order food. No smile, no greeting -- just a blank stare and a monotone, "What do you want?" I half expected him to sigh when I asked a basic question about the menu. The food, when it finally arrived (a full hour later), looked like it had been assembled during a power outage by someone who'd never seen the dish before. It was cold. It was bland. It was wrong. When I politely mentioned it, the waiter shrugged and walked away -- no apology, no offer to fix it. Just gone. At that point, I didn't even want dessert. I just wanted out. If you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience, paying good money for bad food, and leaving a restaurant angrier than when you arrived, this place will be your paradise. Otherwise, save yourself the time, money, and emotional trauma -- and go literally anywhere else.

Yelp
I'm a dive bar aficionado and this definitely meets the bar. Your standard beers are sub $5, a pint of miller high life for $3 is a deal anywhere, and the food was exactly what we wanted. Crispy fries, a solid lobster roll, and a very good haddock sandwich. Service was excellent while we were there on a Sunday afternoon.
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
Went there for dinner on a Thursday night. Not too crowded but noisy (large group drinking and playing darts.) Service was attentive and friendly. The meal was got but not very memorable. Shared a really good pretzel appetizer and the cocktails were good. Veggie sliders looked homemade and the chicken sandwich was a standard chicken sandwich.
google avatar

Tae-Young U.

Yelp
Very overpriced food, but food was so good that it almost made me want to believe it was worth it. Got a grilled chicken sandwich, and I don't think any other place with be able to beat it. The chicken itself was HUGE, almost double the size of the bun and so juicy. It was so well seasoned, that I was surprised! It had a mayo-ey creamy sauce that paired very well with the chicken and vegetables in the burger. It came with a side of fries which was perfectly seasoned and crispy. Docking off a star just for the price and the service being a bit slow (waited around 35-40 min for the food to come out) but the vibes were pretty good too! Had darts, people having a good time drinking beer, and sports to watch!
google avatar

Matthew B.

Yelp
A grilled cheese sandwich was $16 and it was awful. Cheap bread, Kraft singles and was not toasted. I kept wondering how someone could mess up a grilled cheese. The fries were ok and we got fried pickles. They were ok too. Won't be back.
google avatar

Yelp
We come here often to drink and play darts. They have a lively atmosphere and a touch tunes. The drinks are cheap and darts are always fun. Friday and Saturday has a younger college crowd but still enjoyable. The service is great. Most of the food is bar food but it is good. The best thing on the menu is any of the burgers. You would be surprised they are they are the best. Great drinking spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Eek. Beware, their menu prices have gone up literally 300% with no change in quality. Bad news. This used to be a great local watering hole with fun staff and delicious food! No longer. Skip. Or save the bar seats for the gullible and wealthy tourists that can afford $13 French fries.

Yelp
Wife and I made a stop in Portland during our trip through New England and decided on this spot. Daysha was very kind, welcoming and helped us make the best decision for having the local flavor. We only had appetizers, yet the food was great. Had some local brews and enjoyed the outdoor seating on a nice day. Glad we stopped here.

Olivia W.

Yelp
I'm beyond pissed. I waited all day to get a good meal. In return, I got a Rosie's Lemonade without any liquor, and a grilled cheese that fell apart as you ate it. Absolutely would NOT recommend. I am NOT A picky eater, but I wouldn't even serve my food as a prison meal. School lunch equivalent. Just not great.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
Definitely a college bar. Haha. Which we didn't know prior to going. Filled with young people on a Saturday night. And the vibe was that kind of vibe too. But as a result, they also had very college bar-like deals like $2 draft of their beer of the day haha. Fun! Food, though, was typical bar food. Not amazing, good for munching while drinking. Too expensive for the quality. Not made to be known for their quality. Calamari kind of tasted like frozen, not like fresh calamari as you might expect in Portland. Lobster roll was super heavy on the mayo. Not a ton of lobster, pretty expensive for the quality. Fries were fries! Service was really good though! When they messed up our order, they were quick to remedy it. I think if you're looking for a fun little young people bar, this is the place to go! Just come with the right expectations!

Yelp
Rosie's once was a venue where locals met for drinks and reasonably priced pub food back in the day under the original ownership. I hadn't been back to Rosie's for a few years until last evening. The first thing I noticed was the absence of the popcorn machine where one could avail themselves of as much popcorn as they wanted for free, which was one of the many reasons we all went to Rosie's on a Sunday afternoon and watched football. Secondly and notably is Rosie's menu and the prices charged for their grub. $ 20.00 for three sliders. Yikes! I ordered the lobster roll at the cost of $ 22.00. The roll was tiny. The lobster tasted like rubber and was inedible. I sent the lobster roll back and ordered six chicken wings. When the order arrived the wings were tiny compared to the size of the wings they serve at The Great Lost Bear. I split the order with my GF. Afterwards we were still hungry. We ordered egg rolls next. Six wrapped egg rolls (which are actually spring rolls) arrived and tasted like those on the dollar menu at Taco Bell or the Chun King/ LaChoy delectables they sell in the frozen food section at your local Shaws or Hannaford's. When the server presented the check it still included the $ 22.00 lobster roll. The server took the item off the check. Why a customer needs to remind a server to do so remains a mystery. Woefully, all that remains at Rosie's today is the vibe/aura from the past. However, Rosie's is exorbitantly pricey and has sadly become a tourist trap. Rosie's food based upon our experience and in our opinion is not fit for consumption. Once of the worst dining experiences in recent years. Two thumbs down.

Ronda ..

Yelp
Well boo. Service was great, staff was friendly and helpful. Typical bar- loud (and darts!). But we were pretty disappointed. Got soft pretzel app ($14) which i'm pretty sure are in the frozen section of your local grocery store. Table had chili cheese nachos which had no complaints. Also had a burger which was, well, terrible. The menu advertises it as local grass-fed beef. Not sure what they did to it but it was mushy like meatloaf-- maybe they tried to get fancy and added egg which broke it down? Definitely something other than grass fed beef in there. Why mess with a basic burger? It can only go wrong. Disappointing to say the least.

Yelp
Had a great meal at Rosie's and had good conversations with the staff. Very helpful in ordering and keeping my drinks full. Nice lunch and very tasty

Yelp
I stopped in on a Wednesday night for happy hour...4-7pm. There are plenty of TVs, a good selection of beer, and music in the background. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There are also dart boards in the other room across from the bar. The key lime pie drink was really good $10 and the $.99 revolving draft is a sure bargain. Today's draft was Kona Big Wave.
google avatar

Kayla R.

Yelp
It's a dive. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes before being served/acknowledged. It seems like you have to yell at the bartenders if you want to be served. The bathroom stalls are falling apart. We didn't order food, but I would NOT trust any food coming out of this "kitchen". There are other options.
google avatar

Ricky A.

Yelp
Stellar burgers, great service from everyone. We've had Tanner a few times as server and he was always a joy. Great little pub and restaurant in a great little area. Just a warning to parents bringing their kids though, 21+ yrs only after 9pm! Found that out the hard way, oh well.

Yelp
I really try hard not to give bad reviews in a world where negativity has taken hold. So let me start by saying that, the bar tender was fantastic. The service was great. The ambiance was wonderful. The set up was done very well. They had string lights hung up along the ceiling and the chalk boards were a work of art. The food... the food is why this review is only a 3 star. You go out to eat to enjoy the whole experience but especially the food. We ordered a 10 0z steak, that looked more like a 5oz when it came out. The tenders were clearly frozen, and tasted a bit freezer burnt. Should have done the sandwiches instead. All in all the place is cute, the service was great, but the food we got... just didn't hit the spot. When you leave still hungry because you didn't eat what you paid for... yikes. Just yikes. Bummer too, really wanted to like it ! I heard that it's really a college bar and the drinks at where it's at!!

Yelp
Rosie's has slowly become my new happy hour go to bar. The rotating draft special is always my favorite- it's $1.25, what's not to love. The atmosphere is always a great eclectic mix of people and everyone is always super friendly. The bartenders and servers are great! Super nice!! I live that they have TouchTunes so I can be my own DJ :-) Free popcorn! They also have a good menu that is varied in choices and prices to keep everyone happy!
google avatar

Jenn M.

Yelp
Service is great, but Rosie's is far from the same establishment it once was. Granted food costs have increased, their menu is so overpriced and not worth it. An example...a 3 ounce cup of buffalo chicken dip with about 10 chips was $14 99. We mentioned it to the hostess and server, and the reaction was "yes,it's a very small portion" Information that should be shared with guests. I miss the old Rosie's with the popcorn machine.

Yelp
I have lived in Portland for over 20 years and this was my first trip to Rosie's! A small bar/restaurant on Fore St in the Old Port, Rosies is welcoming and fun! Great specials board with soups and other specials with at least 15 things to choose from! The menu did not disappoint either lots of options. We had the chili, clam chowder, scallops wrap special, and the haddock sandwich. The appetizer we started with was the seafood dip with tortilla chips which was really good! We came to play darts as well as eat so after eating the great lunch in to dart lanes. Both boards need an up grade to say the least. One had the wires that separated the numbers curled up so be careful when getting your darts off the board. The other board the bullseye was so worn no darts would stay in! It was an excellent way to spend our Saturday afternoon and will be back for sure!

Yelp
Delightful bar on the waterfront with many locals dropping coming by. The room gets loud quickly as it fills. Bouncer at the door checks ID thoroughly. Minors welcome for food only at the tables (which fill quickly). The burgers taste clean and lean. The Avocado Bacon burger tastes market fresh and almost healthy--the massive half pound patties are cooked to order. Rosie's Nasty Habit burger has an interesting sauce that ties the whole burger together. The curly fries taste like thicker wedges with some seasoning on it--better than the standard crinkle cut fries. The Fish and Chips featured gargantuan 1.5 inch thick slabs of fresh, flaky haddock--how on earth did they cook it without burning up the exterior??? This was absolutely my favorite entree of the visit. The 8oz sirloin with Mash was simple, cooked well--the gravy made the mash fly. And the steak was cooked as requested and was very tasty. A lively fun spot to closeout our Portland Waterfront crawl.

Yelp
Such a great menu. Very imaginative. Fun cafe atmosphere. Took me about 25 minutes to decide between several breakfast and lunch items. Good value.

Yelp
went here for a family vacation, this was definitely a highlight of my vacation I came 3 times for their lobster roll which is so recommended . The owner was so welcoming and friendly, I had absolutely no issues with any food and would definitely recommend for any other family to come visit ! I had to buy a shirt as a souvenir because it was that great! Definitely will come back to it .

April C.

Yelp
A huge shout out to Rosie's! Thank you for the best end of the evening margaritas! These three "old" ladies are very grateful.
google avatar

Sam Z.

Yelp
What's a surprise!! Friendly and welcoming. Plenty of beers on tap. Today's choose was the Blueberry sour (on special (.$99). Which was fresh and crisp. The crispy Reuben ($20) was well Fantastic! The flavors of the corned beef was wonderful. That fist bite caught me by surprise!... Service was great too, friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area .
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cool place. Good music, darts, large TVs and a large menu. Have very few gluten-free options (no pasta, bread, etc.). Ordered the brussels appetizer. It was delicious but quite small for the price. Had the Thai Chicken salad - good size and delicious. My hubby had a burger (perfectly cooked) and some the most delicious sweet potato fries that I've had. I think the prices are a bit high but it is a great place to hang out for drinks and dinner. We ate at the bar. The bartender was great. Attentive and very nice.

Taylor M.

Yelp
Overpriced and the food made me deathly sick for 24 hours yesterday. Spent over 50 dollars on three items that are way over priced, 18 dollars for a steak and cheese that might as well be a small. 18 dollars for a sandwich that is the size of a hot dog roll. Service was great and so was the vibe, but the food and pricing is a joke. Just go for a beer, leave the food in the kitchen.
google avatar

Sharon S.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch. Got scared by the bad reviews but then decided to stay anyway. I had the scallop wrap which was very tasty, but honesty couldn't tell if there were any scallops in it. Seemed to be mostly lettuce with spicy mayo. Here's a photo-you'll see tiny bits of fried pieces...it really needs more. My husband raved about the Reuben sandwich. And his 99cemt blueberry beer. The fries were perfectly crisp. Just the way we like them. It's very pricy-$19 for each sandwich. It's a tourist center, I get it but it's way overpriced. So the Reuben was a 5, the scallop wrap a 3.5, the value a 3.
google avatar

Yelp
Just stopped in for lunch on a cold day. Had the grilled cheese and tomato soup special of the day. Absolutely delicious! Paired it with the Maine Brewing Company Lunch IPA. Great experience. Chill vibe - give them a chance to work their magic!

Yelp
- dive bar feel - very young clientele - it's open late - a bartender, tells me, thats where he goes after hours - rum punch tasted cheap - plenty of TVs - not a very extensive beer selection

sue b.

Yelp
Hi went here yesterday, food was good, beer/drinks u cant beat the prices! Great service, clean venue, nice inside and outdoor patio.

Carol R.

Yelp
Loved the cider, lobster roll and deep fried scallop bacon wrap. Delicious!!! Server was really helpful. Good draft beer
google avatar

Tuli S.

Yelp
The wings are amazing! We ordered mild buffalo and thai chili. Both were fried to perfection and tasted great. We also had the salmon burger and lobster roll. The salmon burger was okay, I wouldn't order it again. The lobster roll was pretty good! Only $13. It wasn't the best one I've had but it was a steal. Highly recommend for a quick bite!

Yelp
In Portland for one night stopped in for an appetizer and drink and really liked this place. Local feel and bartender George welcoming and pleasant

Yelp
Rosie's is one of those places that is a dive bar, but I appreciate what dive bars have to offer. However, I find that Rosie's doesn't measure up to some of the other dive bars around Portland. I have been to Rosie's on numerous occasions, and they have a good atmosphere. Their venue is spacious, they have two dart boards, and they are open on holidays when many other places are not. One of the things that Rosie's thrives on is the fact that they have cheap beer, and they do. They don't, however, have an extensive beer list. I find that their options are limited, and it's always hard for me find a beer that I actually enjoy on their menu, however, they do make good mixed drinks. In all the times that I have come to Rosie's, I had never tried their food, but I was able to try it the other night with a group of friends. One thing about Rosie's is that there is never a wait, and they offer a variety of pub food like nachos, sandwiches, pizzas, etc. I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken nachos. Was I blown away? No. The chicken was spicy, which I actually enjoyed, but the nachos consisted of chips, chicken, a minuscule amount of peppers and onions, and cheese that barely melted. The fries were also just okay. Do I hate Rosie's? No. Will I come back for drinks and a "chill" atmosphere? Yes. Will I specifically come back for their food? No, however, it also isn't HORRIBLE, so I would come back with a group of friends if we were looking for some quick eats.
google avatar

Karen D.

Yelp
I would give zero. Awful service very inattentive. Food is over priced and awful. Picture below shows what 14.00 get you. 5 jalapeño poppers that taste gross. Very dirty as well. Saw two fingernails on ladies room floor. Don't waste your money or time.
google avatar

Wendy A.

Yelp
Excellent place to stop in. Food was delicious and well portion sizes. It was a good place to come in around noon. The place got full quickly. Waitress were great

Mike T.

Yelp
The fresher the fish the better, im sure Rosies seafood was swimming the same morning, we ate there twice lobster rolls and Haddock it was the best ive ever had. people are very friendly and fun with the visitors, unlike allot of the vendors in that area. highly recommended, if i ever go back to Maine ill be eating at Rosies.... thanks for a great experience. MikeTerry OKC OK.

Gabrielle C.

Yelp
warm, comfortable, inviting ambiance. can navigate freely through the establishment. brick walls make it feel rustic and authentic. insulation is on par. did NOT need to wear a jacket indoors. service was exceptional and titillating. both bartenders had a fabulous hair-do. weathered and leathered. #deanshands the rhythm of the night? more like, the elixir of the night #frenchmartini

Sunny S.

Yelp
Soggiest/floppiest of quesadillas. Only two staff on during a busy Saturday afternoon to run the bar, host stand, and both dining areas (inside and outside).
google avatar

Abby L.

Yelp
We sat outside and it was pretty nice! Service was ok and same with pricing, felt a bit much for what it was. $12 for 5 mozerella sticks feels a bit steep, even for portland. However, the food itself was very good! I'd recommend this place for a casual lunch.
google avatar

Patti V.

Yelp
great food and drinks. friendly staff. Will recommend great prices too. enjoyed eating in an old building from the 1800's. keeping history alive and well
google avatar

Brian R.

Yelp
Asked hostess if we could sit at the bar and she said "sure, go for it". That translated to "haha, you'll never get served". Waited for 15 minutes and were completely ignored repeatedly. Wish I could comment on the food but never got service.
