24 Hours of the Best Eating and Drinking in Downtown Chicago | Eater Chicago

"Rossi’s is one of downtown’s last true dive bars and among the most unique places in the city: beer bottles are stored in coolers in the back with an impressive selection of local beer you can grab and pay for at the bar, and the crowd is eclectic — concertgoers from the House of Blues, Loop business folks, and awkward tourists." - Ashok Selvam

We came here for dinner on a Thursday evening. I found the restaurant by doing a Google search for Italian as we drove up New Hampshire. There is plenty of parking and an ice cream shop next door. You enter into the bar area, so just take a left to get to the dining room. We were greeted by the owner (a traditional Italian Nonni) who sat us immediately. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable. My boyfriend ordered a beer ($6), then we had a buffalo chicken Cesar salad and the lasagna. I ate every bite! For dessert, my boyfriend had the lava cake and I had an amazing cannoli ($5.50 each). Our entire meal was $59 (including tax)! I haven't seen these prices since the 90s. And we had a nice chat with the owner. I hope we are in the area again. This place was a hidden gem!

Nice American-Italian restaurant in Bristol. Decent variety with flavorful food. Dinner rolls are amazing! Crispy outside, pillowy soft inside. Started with the fried calamari. Super tender with a crisp exterior. For dinner, had the linguine with clams special and wife had the scallops. Both very tasty. Service was simply amazing. Our server, Nadine, was juggling a large table, and two smaller ones, including our two top. She did an amazing job juggling all of us, and keeping us on pace with drinks, appetizers, rolls, and main courses. An elderly woman, I can only assume the owner, was there helping out by cleaning tables, providing food, running service, and generally being very supportive of the wait staff. Everyone working there seemed to work as a team, helping each other out, and covering for each other. Love Rossi’s. Way better than that slightly fancier place up the road that’s part of a local chain. We will be back. By the way, the photo of the calamari shows us after we had dipped into a couple pieces. It was a much neater and cleaner presentation than the photo! The food was so good, we simply tucked in before being able to take appropriate photos.

UPDATED REVIEW: My original review is below. Last night, Sept 7, 2025, I purchased our 51st anniversary dinner from here. We ordered a large pizza with chicken, onion, and broccoli. Also, two shrimp cocktails, then a kid's order of meatballs and zetti. Everything was EXCELLENT. The red sauce with the meatballs might be the best I've ever had. The shrimp were large and cooked to perfection. They were firm, not rubbery. The pizza crust was unbelievable. I'm NOT a relative or friend of the Rossi's. I'm just an ordinary customer like you. I feel this place is superior to Fratello's in Laconia. Original Review: I purchased a pizza for takeout here two nights ago. I've driven by this restaurant no less than 500 times and never visited. What a mistake! The pizza was excellent. It was ready on time. The toppings were abundant. I could see the owners hard at work in the kitchen through the Take Out portal. I guarantee you I'll be back with my wife and friends. Oh, I forgot to tell you about the pizza crust. I'm a crust snob! The crust was perfect. The outer ring was cooked to perfection. It was still nice and doughy, but firm. I haven't had crust like that since Zino's in Cincinnati in the 1980s!

Rossi's has been out favorite Italian restaurant for years. The best pizza in NH and always excellent entrees. A "special menu item" last weekend was "Sausage Caccitore" and it was absolutely delicious - don't miss it if you see it on the specials board!

Worst Dinner Ever! Last night we’re seated at 5:25pm, completely ignored for first 35 minutes. Finally, server takes drink order, we receive water 10 minutes later, drinks follow as does cheesy bread (cheap bread with melted cheese). Then we wait…… another 30 minutes go by and we order, then we wait….. finally meals arrive, not the chicken parm I ordered, but veal, luke warm, mediocre, frozen patty with red watery sauce over pasta, my wife’s meal looked and tasted good she said. Entire meal from seating to leaving, 2 hours!!! TWO HOURS!!! I watched four other tables get seated after us, meals served, meals eaten, bills paid and patrons departing before we got our meals!!!!!! What The BLEEP? Bartender doubles as take-out coordinator, huge take-out establishment backing everything up. Margo the owner wanders around oblivious as to what’s happening. Had better meals and service at McDonald’s, don’t waste your time or money.

Unfortunately we have not been able to try them after seeing such a great rating. We’re from Florida and went to them last year and they were closed. We were told they had gone out of business. I tried again yesterday and a woman answered the phone. I confirmed it was them by location and asked if they were open as it was mid afternoon and her reply was “yes, that’s why she answered the phone”. After driving 4 hours I was not amused. All 4 of us had wonderful meals at the Homestead restaurant on the same street

Went here for dinner with my family while on vacation for Laconia Bike Week, we were quickly sat and served drinks which were delicious! The food was also great, I really enjoyed my pizza and the owner bumbles around talking to the customers like they're family, which makes for a welcoming atmosphere. On the downside, the server could not remember a single thing anybody ordered so she would just hand it to whoever was closest and we would have to pass the hot plate around the table, and my friend waited like 20 minutes for a coke while another member ordered a beer after the coke had been ordered and it came within 3 minutes. Also the owner would not stop voicing her opinion on our life choices and how we ride motorcycles. Telling some of us that were too young and its irresponsible, and others that we should care more about our lives. We were all mid meal while this was happening so it was very uncomfortable. Like I said though, the food was very very good and so were the martinis!

Stopped here first time and glad we did. Got a pepper and onion pizza , and the chicken marsala both were outstanding. Our server Nadine was great , very nice and personable. Will definitely be back.
