How Muslims Are Rethinking the Future of Ramadan | Eater

"After halting communal iftars during 2020 lockdowns and facing severe budget constraints, organizers began planning months in advance to revive Ramadan with an emphasis on economic and environmental sustainability. Weekly meals were redesigned to serve balanced portions in compostable to‑go boxes under the theme Ramadan Revive to curb food waste and stretch limited funds; portions will remain limited even when in-person gatherings resume. Leaders framed the changes as an ethical return to Ramadan’s spirit of moderation and community while using new technologies to broaden outreach. To bolster the budget and foster connection, the community published a cookbook on the first day of Ramadan collecting hundreds of family recipes — from a Pakistani family’s take on koobideh kabobs and the executive director’s pot of beef chili to a 19‑year‑old’s chocolate samosa — intended to keep members connected even when they cannot gather in person." - Mehreen Karim

Nice and clean, but nobody was there for Asr prayer, and I think men and women are sharing the same space.

I will not be attending any events here in the future. I suggest others think twice before committing to an event unless you're 100% sure you'll be able to make it, as they seem unwilling to work with customers in any way. I'm incredibly disappointed with how this place handles customer service. I signed up for an event but couldn't attend due to an unexpected illness. When I contacted them to explain the situation and request a refund or even a credit for a future event, they flatly refused. It's frustrating that they show no flexibility or compassion for circumstances beyond my control. Life happens, and I would expect a reputable business to be more understanding, especially when I reached out in good faith.

Friendly and welcoming brothers and sisters. Clean and peaceful place to thank and worship Allah. Many activities for the kids and families. Alhamdulilah. Vibrant community of people that are loving and caring. Great place to follow the way of the prophet Muhammad Peace be on him: None is worthy of worship but Allah. May Allah grant us paradise and protection from the fire.

This is a great community. Very diverse, including south Asians, African Americans, converts and Eastern Europeans. I find their programming to be robust and well thought out for kids. Their Ramadan offerings are wonderful and they are very inclusive.

Always peaceful and very clean, I love how the prayer area smells like OUD, my favorite place to meditate.
