Montreal’s Best Portuguese Chicken Spots | Eater Montreal

"It’s no wonder that Portugalia knows how to prepare a dependably delicious chicken given its proximity to Santa Cruz church and community centre, a hub for Montreal’s Portuguese community. It’s been open since 1992 and is definitely one to try." - Valerie Silva

The Best Portuguese Restaurants in Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Located so closely to Boca Iberica next door, Rotisserie Portugalia could be confused for its kitchen. But make no mistake, this hole in the wall’s the reason why the corner of Clark and Rachel smells of delicious chicken and pork all throughout the evening. Be warned of occasional slow service." - JP Karwacki

Had to wait a little for our order, but was definitely worth it in the end. The meat was great value for money and had a lovely charcoal flavour - I also really enjoyed their poutine! Hard to believe it was a mini size 😳

Such a fantastic corner shop that makes the neighborhood feel more human and alive! We had the Tony Supremo made by Tony himself. One sandwich is good enough for two to share. People at the other table outside gave us their extra insanely tasty fries. Tony also gave us spicy mayo and water bottles on the house. Would definitely come back!

Good if you value taste and good prices above everything else. There's no space to eat there, the workers will ignore you until they have time to take your order and then they'll ask you to wait outside for 20 min just to get part of your order wrong. Hygiene wise, no hairnets were worn, bracelets, piercings and necklaces everywhere and not enough space to properly separate raw and cooked products. As I mentioned, the taste is amazing and then prices are great.

Quick service, friendly workers, mind blowing chicken. These guys have got it down to a science. Get the Tony Supremo it's everything you want in a sandwich. The spiced fries are also great!

This place used to be the most authentic Portuguese grilled chicken you could get but it seems it has unfortunately gone downhill since they removed the seating area and became mainly for takeout.

It’s take away, but oh my the food is just incredible. Definitely best Portuguese chicken in town. Their spicy/hot sauce has this freshness that is just incredible. If you’re ordering chicken go non-spicy and get the hot sauce (unless you’re a die-hard spice lover) The chicken is juicy and charred and well seasoned. The fries are great, the salad is awesome, the rice is good. So happy with my meal. Will be my go to place.

I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of our meal. We ordered Tony Supremo, Montreal Steak and Half chicken with fries and salad. Everything we ate was not only delicious and flavourful, but portion was HUGE! It’s super rare to find places that sells quality meals but doesn’t lack in quantity. This place is an absolute gem! Currently they have limited seats, but I think they are in the process of setting up dine in tables.

First time there. What was I missing all the time moving back to Montreal? This is the best Portuguese restaurant in Canada so far for me. I loved it. It's as good as anything that I ate in Brazil. Rio de Janeiro. The owner was so friendly. We tried the large family $59 feast for 3-4 people, a whole chicken, french fries, salad, ribs, rice. It was amazing. My new favorite restaurant in Montreal. I will definitely be going back many times.
